Does it feel re-done and similar yes some of it, but you have to figure they re-visit the island so that figures in, along with some of the original sets from the original movie, that coupled with the same dinosaurs except for a couple new ones. Fast Forward though to new characters who are fun and vivid, and that coupled with non-stop action and cling to your seat kind of fun it still is pure enjoyment and fun to me!! So not the the original's 10 score, but for me really damn close to it. Go into the movie with your eyes open and ready for some hold onto your seat fun and you will be fine!! Expand

"Jurassic World" is a great action blockbuster to watch with its amazing visuals dominating the screen. However, it's original predecessor's excellence in its character development and storyline highly underwhelms this one.

A very good film especially in 3D. The CGI effects were amazing and the story is ok. However some of the design looks more of a copy and paste from the older jurassic parks.

Even though personally i liked them both. Say what you want but, this movie is for those either in love with dinos, JP, Si-fi & new experiences. To all who question Jurassic World's plot, meaning, references, & ect.... Are those who are a 1 sided brain person who either can't comprehend or try understanding the point being made. If you hate it, own up to it. Also, speaking of JP. It's the the same T-rex from the 1st film. CGI: could of been better for Rexy but, production already had more pratical affects, then JP1. Also, CGI is not everything / just as video game graphics. Ex: OG mario vs The order 1886. Also, how a *stage* would be set up, racing games are graphically superior with room need compared to something like Eso or skyrim that have a huge size but lowered graphics / / as compared to Godzilla being that racing game and Jurassic World being skyrim. It can? Wow! Jurassic World is an absolute thrill ride from start to finish, with a great script, great performances, great music, great visuals, this is certainly a worthy entry to the Jurassic Park franchise. The Script is great, very tense but also very funny at points, although the focus is slightly cloudy at points I can overlook this, the performances by, yeah everyone are great, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard give strong tense performances, Vincent D'Onofrio is great as the film's primary antagonist, Irrfan Khan and B.D Wong shine throughout the film, and even Jake M. Johnson and Judy Greer give stunning performances in their rather limiting roles, but I think it's Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins who really shine here, their roles are simply the run away from the big dinosaur roles, but they turn them into something deeper and more interesting, this is without a doubt the best cast in Jurassic Park history (just a shame there's no Sam Neill). As for direction, it's great, Colin Trevorrow did a great job in recapturing the feeling of amazement of watching Jurassic Park for the first time, although personally I prefer Spielberg's direction in Jurassic Park and The Lost World, and even Johnston's direction in Jurassic Park III, but it's still first class direction. Summing up (finally), Jurassic World is a worthy addition to the franchise, hell I'd say it can compete with the 1993 original, but for me, that film will always reign supreme. Fast, Fun, and Epic, the cast and crew have really captured a certain type of awesome that hasn't been seen for about 22 years, nice one guys! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The park is open, and with it comes a great and entertaining adventure, with Chris Pratt as the charismatic Owen, a velociraptor trainer, and Bryce Dallas-Howard as the always-busy Claire. Along with two child actors, Chris and Bryce face a huge danger, and it isn't the not-inspired Indominus Rex, who broke free from his cage and unleashed chaos on Jurassic World. The real danger here are the plot holes, the stupid moments and the visual effects, who seems incredibly dated when compared to the original Jurassic Park (yes, from '93).

With all that said, Jurassic World succeeds at being a good monster movie, and better than the horrible Jurassic Park III, while also paying an homage to the T-Rex. With nothing more to it, make a popcorn, drink your beverage and turn your brain off to enjoy the movie.

Typically, remakes or sequels to a big movie like this can put fear in any viewer. So many have been butchered but I was not disappointed with this. I loved how it went back to the original film. It showed places from the first film that really gave me that nostalgia of seeing Jurassic Park in theaters when I was a kid. I absolutely loved the hybrid dinosaur idea and the fact they spliced several DNA sequences together to make something extremely intelligent and threatening. I loved how the new park was done and a lot of the new attractions (like that water dinosaur). I get some were disappointed because the dinosaurs were "unrealistic" to their true nature because most dinosaurs had feathers but if you listen closely you can hear them say "if we hadn't messed with their DNA sequencing, they would look much more different." The only reason I cut it down a point was because I did find a few things slightly unnecessary such as the older brother constantly texting and making "goo-goo" eyes at all of the other teenage girls at the park. He didn't even talk or come into contact with any of these girls so going out of the way to show his interest in them was kind of dumb.

Overall, I was proud of this movie, I did not regret spending money to see it, and I highly recommend it to any fan of the Jurassic park series.

It may look pretty and in 3D it is even better. but looks ain't everything. If you wanna see a real Jurassic Park movie again, then you have to wait. It may be better than the last movie, but it only is a step into the right direction. And I don't wanna say, that it is a bad movie. It's just a bad Jurassic Park Sequel (yet again).
The movie has it's moments but the whole time, I was sitting in the cinema, seeing this movie, I thought: "Something does'nt feel right". And soon I got it: It was the atmosphere. All in all the movie is full packed with action and less calm, darker scenes, which were used in the first Jurassic Park to build tension. It was used to give the consumer of the movie the right amount of fear, which let the Dinosaurs look more threatening. They completely (except for one scene) removed this kind of tension and put in lots and lots of boring senseless dialogues and shooting-scenes. But as I said before: The movie has it's moments and you could say it is kinda worth it, to see the movie because they have lots and lots of "eastereggs" in it, which lets you fall into nostalgia and lets you see some scenes from the first Jurassic Park but years later, which I actually found pretty cool.
The soundtrack is awesome, too. They've reused melodies from the first Jurassic Park. But I think, that's okay, because the Soundtrack was, and still is awesome.
I am not going to write a quick story review in here, because I wanted to make this review spoilerfree. But I can tell you this: I have found some "mistakes" in the logic of the people who wrote the script for this movie. One of it is known in the internet pretty well: "The whole High-Heels Story."
And the other one is, that we all know raptors don't hunt or fight alone. They normally stay in a pack. Which they even thought about in the first Jurassic Parks. I don't think, that this alone makes the movie worse than it is. But all in all, this is more of a mediocre movie.
That is, why I only give it 4/10 (if they would've changed the title, so it doesn't mess up the Jurassic Park Series more, I would've given 5/10)

However, Bryce Dallas was very annoying and unappealing in this movie. For half of the movie while she is being chased and tossed around by killer dinosaurs, her hair stays perfectly blow-dried and styled as she minces around in stiletto high heel shoes. And then by the end of the movie we're supposed to believe that's she's somehow transformed into a Sigourney Weaver type of heroine who brandishes a military gun as well as a marine?

Hated her in this movie and the ten pounds of makeup and lipstick and hair spray she was coated with. It's similar to television shows or movies in which women in full makeup roll out of bed that way or go to sleep that way, when in reality it took a team of professional stylists two hours to apply all that heavy foundation, lipstick, false eyelashes, eye liner and mascara and concealer to their mugs. Would have been a better movie if a dinosaur gobbled her up in the first half hour!

One of the biggest and most enjoyable aspect is the use of the velociraptor, they were a perfect supporting element to the main predator. It is also entertaining to see Chris Pratt riding around in a motorcycle alongside raptors dressed like Indiana Jones minus the hat and whip. I loved Jurassic Park and felt that both sequels didn't do justice to the original, so when they announced that this film would go on the premise that the two sequels never happened, I was extremely excited. Like everyone else, I rushed to the theaters to see, the exact same film I saw twenty years earlier. The tech is better, the effects are better, but the story is almost identical, to the point where each character has an equivalent in the original film. In Jurassic Park, the T-Rex escapes while the kids are in a car, touring the park. In Jurassic World, the Adominus-Rex escapes while the kids are in a sphere, touring the park. This is just one example of literally dozens of parallels to the original film. The only real difference is Chris Pratt, as he is a hell of a lot more believable than Sam Neill was, and his infectious personality makes him the type of guy that everyone wants to be friends with. From his simple start on the WB's Everwood to becoming a Guardian of The Galaxy, Chris Pratt has established himself as one of Hollywood's brightest future stars, but aside from his performance, this is the same film! The Jurassic franchise has the benefit of being created by one of the greatest science fiction writers of all time. It is produced by perhaps the greatest Director of all time, and once again it introduces moviegoers to some amazing new special effects, but none of it matters when the story just isn't there. With this film people were hoping for something new and exciting from the franchise, a turn in a whole other direction, instead they got a film that is little more than a remake of the original, and a disappointing one at that. Placed under any level of scrutiny, its quality as a film deteriorates rapidly. The plot is questionable and it does nothing not already seen in the original Jurassic Park. However, it really, really delivers in the entertainment category. Ultimately, film is supposed to be entertainment and this film entertains. It is a ton of fun for the whole family, provides numerous thrills and a ton of nervous excitement as the situation down in Costa Rica takes a turn for the worse due to the humans being stupid and selfish. The human drama placed into the film is idiotic and never really works on any level, but damn, there are a bunch of really cool dinosaurs that attack and eat people. The special effects are impeccable, Chris Pratt makes a case for being one of the strongest leading men right now with a decent acting performance that was best in the one category that matters, charisma. Jake Johnson was also great and a showstealer at times. The characters were pretty dumb, sure, but I don't know, I kinda dug Jurassic World. I feel dirty and hypocritical, but watching dinosaurs eat people is a ton of fun. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Jurassic World presents a tug-of-war where expectations are hoping to be met but are continuously resisted by poor writing and acting in what otherwise should have been a decent experience. There is enough awe to help mask a few of the underlying weaknesses that are difficult to ignore, but this success is short-lived. Before the motorcycle scene there were glimmers of optimism that this might be the decent sequel. But it gets much worse in an attempt to tie up a pretty loose plot. Ultimately, there isn't much to believe about this movie, even at the character level. About halfway through it's fairly obvious where the plot is going and this only makes things worse. Admittedly, it's hard to hate Jurassic World but it's even harder to take it seriously. Expand

The film focuses on an attempt to bring a new hybrid to the species of dinosaurs, the staff at the park hold it in isolation as it can be dangerous. But obviously, it escapes and that's how the main plot starts.

There are two brothers who attend the park, the older one is Zach (Nick Robinson) and the young one is Gray (Ty Simpkins). We see that Zach has a girlfriend at the start of the film who never makes another appearance later on, nor is she mentioned. Gray, in one scene mentions something about their parents getting divorced, which doesn't seem to be important to the movie's main story.

Once again, character development does seem to be lacking in this franchise. Bryce Dallas Howard plays Claire, who is basically the John Hammond of the film, as she runs most of the park and appears to also be the two boys' aunt. We learn that she has had a history with the main hero, Owen, played by Chris Pratt who, once again, is trying another action role to distance himself away from comedies.

The one thing that trouble's me is Pratt's character, Owen...he is just a typical action hero, we don't learn anything else about him other than the fact that he used to date Claire. But does he have a family? Parents? Brothers or Sisters?? We know he trains certain dinosaurs and treats them like they are zoo animals that need to stay calm.

There are many scenes where we see Chris Pratt riding a motorcycle, shooting various creatures and just basically being the action "badass" for the movie. But is he human? He doesn't seem to be scared. In the original 'Jurassic Park' (1993), Sam Neil's character didn't know what he was doing the entire time, but he survived while protecting two children, and he showed fear, he wasn't some superhero that always showed courage. I found Chris Pratt to be a little bland in this film, but that's not his fault. You want a hero? You got a hero.

There are many familiar action-movie cliches that we see from time to time, such as when a character is rescued by another character and they share a kiss. Or when a character is ready to take action and another character asks how they are going to do it without assistance, then the camera zooms in on their face and they execute a "badass" line to look cool.

The film, like I said above, also relies on nostalgia, we hear the iconic music that was originally composed by the great John Williams, now composed by the equally great Michael Giacchino. This reminds me of when 'Superman Returns' was released in 2006, it had the original theme music and relied on nostalgia to entertain its original audience.

However, I enjoyed the thrills, the special effects artistry and the fact that we once again visit an iconic franchise for the new generation. My only concern is that this did not feel like a necessary sequel, there is no need to re-open a park that once killed people, and you know this may get another sequel giving its enormous box-office success. Is "Jurassic Park 5" really needed?

This gets 7/10. Good summer flick, not sure about re-watchability...

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This Review is written in GERMAN Language!

Welcome back to a Stephen Spielberg type of movie.

It definitely had the old Spielberg feel to the movie. At one point, it felt like Goonies with the interaction of the brothers.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Howard were great in their roles.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Jurassic World, Settles in nicely with the Original Trilogy, Originally thought to be a Reboot by many, the film proves that to be wrong, having many nice nods for fans of the Original movie.

The film starts out fairly slow, introducing a family we don't get much to go off as far as character early on and talking about the development of the "indominus rex" Unfortunately that's the bad part of the film, its slow start.

It takes awhile to get interesting, but once that ball starts rolling it only manages to get more and more interesting, as you get to revisit locations from the original film, those with good eye for detail will notice small nods here and there, like the banner in the main lobby of the original building surrounded by the bones of Raptors.

The charm of this film really comes from its willingness to give nods to its roots, they even use a combination of Animatronic and CGI for its Dinosaurs, which I found a nice touch allowing me to really get into the Jurassic Park mindset.

Chris Pratt makes a convincing animal handler, actually doing things everyday animal handlers do with big predators.

Bryce Dallas Howard does a great job at being that Management type that only cares about the product until things get bad.

Vincent D'Onofrio dies a fantastic job at being the guy you know is upto no good and you love to hate him for it.

Every other actor in the film, unfortunately fall short, to two kids 'Gray' and 'Zach played by Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson really fall short in being convincing siblings for most of the movie.

The action was solid and kept me on the edge of my seat every time a moment got tense and I really LOVE that the T-Rex in this film is actually the T-Rex from the original Jurassic Park, seeing its original battle scars from the fight with the Raptors in the first film made me all giddy to realize it was the same Rex from my Childhood.

The one Raptor 'Blue' this is the name of the Beta Female Raptor that Chris Pratt's Character 'Owen' worked with and earned the trust of the pack, you could somewhat feel yourself actually growing an attachment to the Raptor, I like how they managed to fit a bit of personality and character into this Raptor, enough to make you feel tense when Blue is fighting.

Overall 'Jurassic World' is a great watch for fans of the original film, its full of small nods that you'll smile to see when you catch it, the kids will love the film, I mean its got Dinosaurs and Action what else could they ask for? Adults will find a splash of quirky romance that some may find charming.

I would recommend this movie and even re-watch it with friends and family.

My rating would have been higher if it wasn't for the slow start and dull acting from two members of the main cast.

The park is brilliantly realised and the new genetically engineered dinosaur adds new terror (not that it was strictly necessary) Chris Pratt proves that Guardians Of The Galaxy was no fluke and that he has real star quality, while Bryce Dallas Howard handles running in heels with aplomb. The film works because it understands what made the first film such a success and simply builds on it, tipping its hat to the original subtlety along the way. A great, old fashioned crowd pleaser. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's absolute garbage.

Characters: They're all bad (sorry Chris Pratt, you're great in Parks and Recreation), and are difficult to relate to because they are all poorly-written and dumber than dumb. Constantly I found myself baffled at the choices characters made, which put themselves and others at risk for seemingly no payoff. It's impossible to relate to characters that make dumb decisions that the audience wouldn't make, even under pressure. They're not great, and the cliche portrayal of the female lead was not alleviated by a token show of strength (when she saved Chris Pratt), as she continues to whimper for most of the film. I hate to use the term "cardboard cut-outs," because it is so overused and here it really doesn't apply. The characters have clear motivations: Howard's is maintain profit and safety, Pratt's is protection of animals (which leads into a very corny message), and Military Dude Stereotype's is to militarise the raptors. It's just that they're so boring, and have been done so many times before. Also, no offence to the kids (and I understand that having them there is to include kids in the audience) but they seem to have caught the stupid virus, and constantly cause danger and put their lives at risk. People in Jurassic World have the self-preservation of Star Trek redshirts.

Product Placement: This is almost a deal-breaker for someone like me. It's cheap, and in a film marketed to children (yes, there were many in the cinema with us) it's just downright amoral. I saw Mercedes Benz cars everywhere, an obvious Coca Cola pitch with Chris Pratt (which looked as though cut straight from a commercial), and Samsung products up the arse: such as the "Samsung Innovation Centre." It feels like a complete cop-out.

Scares: Move along.

CG: Not very convincing, somehow less so than the first film. Very low standard, though with Chris Pratt in there, I'm not surprised how better graphics were not included in the budget (even with the countless product tie-in deals).

Story: Stuff happens, plays it safe and predictably. Pretty terrible message: environment good, science has gone too far, blah blah blah.

Overall: I enjoyed the film, especially taking the piss out of it with a friend. It's just so appallingly bad that it's sickly enjoyable, like a sweet pain. I'm being charitable with a 2/10, and if you want a better action film, see Mad Max Fury Road. If you want a better children's film, watch Inside Out. This film's sure not to win any awards (lest the good kind) and will be forgotten very quickly.

I absolutely loved the first Jurassic Park. It was clever, action packed and pretty revolutionary for the time that it came out. The two that came after... well... the first one was watchable, and I did kind of enjoy it, but the third? Well. I guess not having Spielberg on board didn't help. Alas, Spielberg was the executive producer for this film, and needless to say, the third probably would've been much more enjoyable had he worked on it. This film was GREAT! It was the type of film that they made movie theaters for. It was loud, terrifying and fast-paced, which will help keep your grandpa awake as the film progresses. Although the story is pretty predictable, the cinematography and action scenes make up for it. The two kids in the movie don't really help the story progress in any way, they did set up one of the coolest scenes in the movie. I won't spoil it for you though. Well, here are my final thoughts on the movie:
Great film to see in theaters, very enjoyable even if you haven't seen the originals!

I'm a huge fan of the Jurassic series and anything dinosaur related. But this just didn't have the thrill, scare or heart stopper like the previous Jurassic park movies. You actually got to see gore, and death in the previous series so it was always a heart racer. But they made up excuses to cover it all up in Jurassic World. They took control of what was meant to be chaos. Raptors were always a huge fear factor in Jurassic movies, now they sort of just tell them to sit, stay, roll over. The scene of the pig escaping and the new guy falling into the raptor cage was a potential thrill, then the tamer came in and again, told the raptors to sit. Two or three people 'may' have died. The rest could walk it off. Had it been the first Jurassic movie in the series I've seen, then yeah it would have been amazing. But it wasn't so it isn't. Again, good movie, just didn't keep to it's own standards. Expand

"Here's another movie about dinosaurs with the exact same story as the one movie you loved as a child; Jurassic World (Park). It even got Chris Pratt in it. Feed us with your money now"

First of all; it's not as great as the original, but it still manages to inspire some magical feelings. The first half really felt beautiful, natural and really touching, even though the whole movie is a big cliché with the military and their interest in science. The combination with the great soundtrack made the movie great though. I really enjoyed the first half of the movie, much backstory and build-ups. The second however; well the action is a bit lame and it didn't really feel that exciting as I wanted it to be. The climax could have been much better too! But I still enjoyed it. Another great aspect is the CGI, much details and really well done! But some objects looks unreal and just bad.

Even though I did enjoy this movie, are there a massive amounts of flaws! First of all is the over-spoiled trailers. There could have been so much more unexpected events in this movie is they hadn't shown as much as they did. Damn trailers, they even made the movie predictable! The fact-based dialogs are another aspect; some are way too forced to the audience like "let's just tell them the fact without even revealing it character to character". There're also those annoying shaky-cams, we want to see something, not nothing! The action is as mentioned not as great as it could have been and there're no feeling to it either; it's hard to get thrills with dinosaurs. There are also some silly and unnecessary events that's just annoying, not to mention the unnecessary subplots with the main characters, so boring.

So yeah, this really is an over-hyped summer-flick, that might not be overrated but it still got its flaws. The biggest problem lies with the dinosaurs itself, it's just a bigger animal in my opinion that just happens to eat everything, and fight other big animals. That's not really anything "that big". There's one scene in this movie that got two really big dinosaurs fighting with each other, you can't really feel the intensity and the thrills of it. You can't feel compassion to them.

Even though it got its flaws did I actually enjoy Jurassic World; especially the bloody action-sequences, the main characters and the build-ups. Jurassic World was exactly as what I expected it to be like; over-hyped but still great to watch.

Fast paced, fun action sequences were peppered with just enough gore to envoke those same feelings of heart stopping horror/thrill experienced in the first film. The CGI was generally good, though not brilliant, and the set design and cinematography were fantastic. The dialogue was witty and somewhat self-aware, which added a nice balance of humour to the film, and the performances were great from all cast members. I was a little nervous at first but I thought they created a unique story and it wasn't the same old stuff and they added something new to the story. I thought they had a great cast and managed to add humor, romance, action, and adventure to it that they other films lacked. I know a lot of people criticize the films for completely changing the story but that was what I liked about it.

I also thought it was cool that they showed the dinosaurs in a whole new light. The raptors weren't the big bad dinosaurs as they were featured the previous films. The T-Rex actually saved the day towards the end. Awesome move!

The story had came off as something new which got me excited, but resorted to be on the same track as Jurassic Park. It may have been a new movie, but lacked the understandable story line. The cast of this film was pulling their entire weight and succeeded only by the great role Chris Pratt had performed. The film seemed a little bit away from being a worthy reboot, but if the film tried to be something new and original at the same time I would talk more about. Expand

The first two were incredible but the third film left a sour taste in most people's mouths so this movie had a lot on its plate. If it flopped it would've certainly been the end to this franchise for a long time until years down the road Hollywood gave it the inevitable remake treatment. However, if it succeeded in delivering a quality product that fans would enjoy, the sky was the limit. Well, lucky for us fans, it delivered a really good film. With regards to the cast, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard do a great job as the male and female lead counterparts; Vincent D'Onofrio once again takes the role of the villain and he does so masterfully; Jake Johnson provides great comedic relief throughout the film (maybe too frequently to be honest); to be frank, the only weak part of the cast were the two child leads. In what has become an unfortunate cliche in this franchise, children were given too large of a role and they couldn't deliver the necessary emotions. The first film got lucky there... more often than not, banking a large portion of your film on the capabilities of child actors is a mistake. Thankfully this was not a movie entirely reliant on acting so it wasn't a grave error but trying to emulate the magic of the first definitely hurt the movie a bit. The film also failed to deliver quite the same edge-of-your-seat thriller experience that the first two did. A lot of that had to do with any sense of unknown being eliminated almost immediately. In the first movies, you rarely caught a glimpse of the "villains" (T-Rex or the Raptors) during the build-up of the suspense. This helped create a certain tension that really captured you. This movie doesn't manage to do that at all. Instead, Jurassic World is an action movie that has dinosaurs, humor, and solid acting. Essentially it felt like a 21st century superhero movie but instead of Iron-Man or Captain America it had Velociraptors and an Indominus Rex. The problem is, it shouldn't be that type of movie at all. Nonetheless, the action, the nods to the original film (which was probably my favorite part of the movie), and the dinosaurs devouring people makes this worth the price of entry. Just don't go in expecting it to building on the originals. Expand

For several years I've heard rumours about a "Jurassic Park 4", but it never got life. Until, in the end of 2014, I watched the trailer of "Jurassic World" for the first time. I thought: "This better not be like 'Jurassic Park 3.'". As it turns out, it wasn't. "Jurassic World" did what the previous "The Lost World" and "Jurassic Park 3" didn't. The movie does not bring previous characters, only new ones. Finally, they won't be put on the same situation, on the same island again. Although some flops from acting, several plot holes, this is still a good time-watching. Expand

I honestly did not know the actor Chris Pratt but I think he did a good job and actress Bryce Dallas is very very very beautiful and very cute, she also knew how to make her own.
there are difference between jurassic park 1 and jurassic world, but just a little bit, for me the 2 best movies of all of them, in jurassic park must be the one of the best cause there began everything, of course, but there were so many errors in the production, on the other hand, jurassic world maybe did not have errors, but it was a very little predictable,
but you will not be disappointed

The acting is solid, Chris Pratt knows how to make a good lead and Bryce Howard gives a good performance. The story is good, mostly because it's focused and don't feel overstuffed. The visuals are amazing, because of a solid direction by Colin Trevorrow. The score is perfect. with both the old theme song and a new, thrilling one.
If you liked Jurassic Park, but felt that there could be a little more action on that film, go see this one.

Praise forJurassic World is not a failure, but it is an overall disappointment. The films writing is pretty poor with it trying to create interesting characters but failing on the majority of them making them unlikable and one dimensional. Praise for Chris Pratt’s character though, he’s a lot of fun. The main (unlikable) characters come forth like this; Gray being the annoying kid that is constantly running around spouting out his dinosaur facts, Zach being simply a bit of a dick of a character where we find out at the start he has a girlfriend but preys on every other girl he sees while also having his little brother to make him admirable even though there seems like a serious lack of chemistry between them, Claire being played rather well at times by Bryce Dallas Howard but coming across as an idiotic, emotionless person who just seems rather clueless and makes decisions that shouldn’t be redeemed by saving her nephews and kissing Pratt, and then finally there is Hoskins. Hoskins is the one dimensional villain of (you guessed it) ingen that is constantly showing why he is a bad person. Plain plain plain.
Now however to the film. The film has its moments of interesting action sequences and dialogue (one instance talking about the psychology of deprivation) but they do not amount to even probably about half the running time. Pratt’s character Owen Grady does have the best parts and he plays his character well in the scenes he’s in making the film enjoyable for just his screen time. However, the film never fully builds up appropriately, rushing straight into Jurassic World and then delivering the news of the genetically modified hybrid. The idea for why they were doing it was interesting but the choices of what they made it of just seems idiotic.
The film later slides down into a bundle of events that the Indominus Rex causes without really making the most of what the scenes could be, and then the film takes an odd change it direction for the end by changing the ending of the film into a monster brawl flick, like a Godzilla movie. It seemed like a pretty ridiculous ending.
Then, with not only the writing of some dialogue but the direction and acting of some scenes, you can’t help but notice this film is ridiculously cheesy at moments. Some scenes I thought were cringe worthy and just forced, which obviously shows a lack of thought when writing the script and just trying to get all the classic Hollywood blockbuster tropes in without originality.
Now not all was bad about the film. Like I say, Chris Pratt was awesome - and this film acts as stellar evidence and test footage for why he should be the new Indiana Jones – and there our also plenty of nice little call backs to the original films, but some scenes were thought out in what they represent. Trevorrow did a nice job of colour scheming certain scenes, which was a nice subtle touch, with the warmer and darker colours (Red and Black) representing the old, and the colder and lighter colours (blue and white) representing the new. It was a small thing, but it was quite nice to witness if you noticed it.
Overall, the film is maybe worth the money for a film to buy on dvd once it gets cheaper, but not full admission ticket price. It’s not bad, but definitely not good. You will get enjoyment out of this, and it is better than Jurassic Park 3 so no worries there.

While the movie is good for nostalgia it unfortunately fails to deliver anything we haven't already seen. The original movie is still holds the crown even twenty two years later.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The dialogue was horrendous. but what can one expect to come out of the mouth of such highly contrived characters? The humans in this movie were only the fleshy vehicles we were forced ride in order to get to the CGI money shot at the end. Using mass amounts of crowded people as pterodactyl niblits was a nice touch.

If it's loud. mildly frightening dinosaurs in 3D you want while you suck down a family size pop corn and 64 oz cola to yourself, I highly recommend going to see this in the theater, if only for the last 15 minutes.

If you enjoy character development, story, and a symbolic musical score, or any kind of metaphorical subtext, please continue to wait for Stephen Spielberg to come back to the franchise (which he won't).

TheFunctional as light entertainment, with some scary scenes and a few interesting new twists, but not anywhere near as exhilarating or intelligently put together as the original Jurassic Park, this has to be seen as a disappointment. The indominus rex is probably the best thing about this movie and is the cause of almost all the scenes that work. So much of the script however feels like it was written by ten year olds that you're consistently taken out of the experience. (The raptors for the military sub-plot is absolutely ridiculous.) There's no sort of dramatic depth to be found anywhere and the actors are all playing pretty flat characters. This movie has the assembly line produced feel to its core. The original Jurassic Park felt like something that craft went into, a movie designed to leave an impression. It also seemed to take place in a more realistic, less goofy cinematic universe. Here you're kept entertained enough but you never really get the sense that there's any more reason to this movie than to grab people's cash. And half of the special effects aren't even very impressive. It's an average, generic blockbuster through and through. Expand

I'll list spoilers separate from the rest of this review at the bottom, clearly marked. The effects are beautiful, but the plot devices are some of the most atrocious I've ever seen. It feels like they spent 5 minutes brainstorming ideas and 50 days working on effects work. Jurassic Park 2 and 3 may have also had similarly bad plot premises, but nowhere near as bad as this one.

Then there's the acting. Chris Pratt is one of my favorite actors, I loved him in Guardians of the Galaxy and Parks&Rec. He's good at what he does best: humor and comedy with a hint of serious. Jurassic Park is...not a comedy, and while he's an excellent actor and overall person, he does NOT do 100% serious well. A lot of the dialogue seems corny at best, which further underscores the production as a whole. I'll briefly go into the most atrocious movie sins in the spoilers.

**SPOILERS**
**YOU'VE BEEN WARNED**

So, there were numerous plot devices that were absolutely horrible. This isn't nit-picking, but rather a statement of fact, given that the connections were not hard to make. For one, the entire premise of the movie is built around a Jurassic park. Cool, cool...but then, there are a NUMBER of horrible decisions and illogical conclusions made. So, the "military industrial complex" has a weapons contractor who is fascinated with raptors, and for some odd reason believes that animals = better machines...except for the fact that even without combat robots no one uses trained animals for combat anymore and NEVER used exotic animals such as tigers or lions...and especially NOT NOT NOT smart trained animals like Raptors. Even if you could theoretically get a Raptor to listen to your commands, and remove the barrier between handling, the costs would be exponentially higher especially given that Dinosaurs were brought back from EXTINCTION. There aren't even nearly enough to breed in a significant quantity even when you ignore the fact that maintenance and initial cost of animals is exponentially higher than machines in the first place.

Then you've got Jurassic World, which DESPITE knowing that Jurassic Park 1 failed because of an implanted frog gene allowing dinosaurs to change gender to breed, somehow decides "oh yeah sure, not knowing about the genes despite barely understanding how they work in the first place? No, that will be fine, just make us an entirely new dinosaur so we can create a pen for it with absolutely no way to know if it will be contained". And apparently, the "INDUSTRIAL MILITARY COMPLEX" that movies like to blame in the form of a weapons contractor has ZERO military oversight given that he was able to do all of this without a single questioning from the actual military...yeah no. In the real world, contractors might be able to get away with exponentially rising costs but no way in hell could one fund such a massive project without letting others know details. Government might hand out money, but they don't do so without knowing the details.

Then you've got laughable moments like when Chris Pratt apparently "mind controls" raptors...with food? And then apparently imprinting on him is enough to get them to attack their own kind to save Chris?

Honestly, the lack of any dialogue or character design, and the hundreds of plot holes are just atrocious. I could go on and on, going far past the metacritic 5000 character limit, but I won't. Jurassic World is somewhat entertaining, sure, but it's nothing worth the price of a movie ticket. While it's not a movie that you expect a wonderful plot out of....you have to draw a line somewhere.

Sadly they weren't low enough. Every Hollywood trope was brought in in as the film progressed from one plug-n-play scene to the next: "insert moody teenager", "insert brotherly bonding moment" etc.

All but a few characters are actually likable, Chris Pratt's being one. The rest only frustrated me as being unoriginal cliches, about as relateable as a pack of soggy chips. I could only scream internally as each character flopped around on screen while Chris Pratt saved the day.

The only reason this didn't get a zero was for the 5 minute dino-on-dino climax of the film which was so ridiculous and over the top, it was almost worth sitting through the whole train wreck that was this film.

Maybe a re-cut of just Chris Pratt and his Raptor bros fighting dinosaurs will happen one day, and it will be a cinematic masterpiece. Until then, I would not recommend this film for anyone with a functioning brain

Hey guys, shut up, you are not a f-ing critic neither am I, but still keep your mouth shut. The movie is better then any movie I have ever seen since Avatar. I was actually concerned when people were either going to die or get hurt. Which is something I can't say I had in previous movies, such as *Throws up in mouth a little.* Twilight. Or the hunger games, but that one I can't really put against because I read the books so I know what is going to happen.

Anyways back on track, the movie does a really good job keeping the tension through out the movie. Be honest it got so tense that I actually thought I was watching a horror movie then an action movie. I especially loved the scenes where they left the raptors out and was looking for the dinosaur, and the end fight scene. HOLY crap, that was the coolest scene ever.

But I am going to nit pick here because the movie is great, we all know that so I will tell about some of the bad things about it.

The plot-in my opinion - really doesn't follow the ones from the old ones, which were also GREAT movies. Just basically trying to hunt down this dinosaur the entire time. It really dissapointed me because I was hoping for more dinosaur fights, dinosaurs getting out and you have to find your way around them like the first 1. But sadly there are only several scenes of dinosaurs fighting, they make them really good though.

Another thing that was really bugging me was that you killed all the raptors except one, really? That was unnecessary and almost added nothing to the plot. It would have been fine if the raptors got injured or something, but you didn't need to kill them all. It's one of those things from keeping me from giving this movie, a perfect score.

But honestly like I said before a great movie, and a really good sequel to it's previous sets of films. To be honest when I go down and look at all the negative scores, it just seems like people are hating on it for no reason. It seemed like they couldn't think of anything so they just make a random insult and just insult the movie.

Typical online bull crap. Don't mind them, if you loved the old movies you will, for sure, love this one.

Jurassic World is not a good movie. Don't read the next sentence unless you want the most general very general, premise of the movie. I wouldn't even call it a spoiler.

This is a story about two young boys who get lost in Jurassic World while a dino is on the loose.

It is a movie quite literally for kids from about 12 to 15. The effects are great, but 22 years after Jurassic Park you would expect that. Perfect effects are a given at this point, and they did not save the ho-hum predicable plot. There was one small surprise in the story; everything else was substandard from a storytelling perspective. Jurassic Park, the original, was graced with the quirkiness of Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern. No such quirkiness in Jurassic World. You've got a cookie cutter strong chinned ex-military guy who saves the day, and an attractive woman who of course does her share of saving him, even though it makes little sense given her profession because that is required by modern formula, and this is all formula. Neither of them have an ounce of anything that makes them stand out as individuals. They are generic. The best part of the movie is the big dino fight at the end. So wait until it's available to rent for $5 then watch it until you get bored, at which point you should fast forward to the final 20 minutes to watch the big finish dino fight. But really, these days, going to the movies, paying all that money, and taking 4 hours out of your day (which is what it requires when you consider the traveling to and from the theater and sitting through nearly a half hour of trailers), is just not worth it unless the film is amazing. And this wasn't amazing. For any film less than amazing we can just wait a few months and watch it for next to nothing on TV. This is one of those. Wait for it to be available on demand, through iTunes, or whatever. Don't waste your hard earned cash and precious free time seeing it in a theater, unless you are taking your 12 year old son to see it.

Hey this movie has CGI dinosaurs. It has Chris Pratt on a studio stage motorcycle with CGI dinosaurs
on a hunting party. It has Bryce Dallas Howard booking it full speed in high-heals. And it has the worst ending to an epic dino fight
