Love it! Not your general hero movie but even better! Best DC film in my opinion. If the Terminator and The predator had a baby with Superman its Black Adam. My only question is when is part 2 happening with the Witcher? Lol. Black Adam is one scary dude if you are not trying to kill him lol. His character made sense it is not your general hero story his not even a hero at all he says it too in the film. Considering his from an era where there is no justice system/due process, your a slave and his dark back story. I'm sure its common for something small like stealing could get you executed. And if you had to fight an enemy you have to kill your enemy if not your enemy can come back to kill you or massacre your entire family. He is not a hero. He only takes action purely on his choices and own consideration towards others that happen to save lives or end lives lol. I would absolutely recommend others to watch this film and I would definitely watch it over again to have somebody share the experience with.… Expand

It's so clear that many critics didn't even watch the movie, it's embarrassing. This is far more nuanced and poignant than anything Disney or Warner have made in the superhero genre up to this point, that for some critics to pretend they've watched it and call it bland is, quite honestly, an insult to professional reviewers who actually take their jobs seriously.
Black Adam, as a movie, is driven by a commentary on the nature of prejudice, both global and personal. It uses the narrative to ask the viewer important questions about why they assume their moral judgement is above question and forces them to constantly change their perspective and adapt to new information rather than just lazily pick a side and insist they're "the good guys". Above all Black Adam asks Hollywood and the hero movie genre to take a long hard look at itself and ask if it really just wants to recycle the exact same one-sided stories, over and over again.
Any critic calling this movie bland, shallow or by the numbers, should stop letting Disney's marketing department write their reviews for them, because they clearly didn't watch the movie themselves.… Expand

This simply demonstrates once again, just how much most critics are out of touch with what audiences are actually looking for in a movie. I’m so happy to see that the audience score of 89% (at time of writing), mirrors the experience that I had at the cinema. My family and I are just back from an IMAX screening of Black Adam and our scores are 7/10 wife, 7/10 son, 9/10 daughter and 9/10 me. How biased are the majority of critics nowadays and what’s their actual motivation for scores as low as zero? Are they reviewing a form of media ENTERTAINMENT or trying to project their political agendas onto the masses?
Anyway, back to the movie… Awesome cinematography, incredible action sequences, fantastic performances by all, a tremendous score, spellbinding visual effects and a SUPER mid credits scene. Thank you Dwayne Johnson, Warner Bros.Discovery, New Line Cinema and Seven Bucks Productions for a great, FUN time at the movies. Yes, FUN time at the movies, something the majority of critics seem to have forgotten about.
It’s a solid 9/10 IMO, so please ignore the critics and go see Black Adam on the biggest, loudest screen possible… you won’t regret it.… Expand

Quite entertaining film. The Rock is perfect for the role. He plays his typical role as a tough guy which fits him very well but now as an anti-hero. Amazing movie, that's how you make an anti-hero: ruthless, violent and cooperative only when the purposes are the same.
The Justice Society is a very nice "hero add" to the cast, Brosnan was born to be Fate and Hawkman was a surprise.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well, I'll start by saying that a movie hasn't moved me this much in a long time, but Black Adam did. His Action Scenes, I liked the role that Dwayne Johnson plays as Black Adam a lot, his charisma and makes the film have those touches of humor, I also really liked the Soundtrack of the Movie, the Music in my opinion They chose it very well for every occasion, and I like the Black Adam soundtrack in general, especially when we see Black Adam for the first time coming out of the "Tomb" that was on the mountain. The truth is, it gives you that feeling that he told you: " You are seeing one of the most powerful "Superheroes" And he knows how to do it, on the other hand I liked it a lot as they included Dr. Fate, Hawkman, Cyclone and Atom Smasher, I liked their costumes a lot Especially because their costumes look alike to the comics. I had a lot of fun watching Black Adam, His Action Scenes are very good and funny, But there was a time when it was a bit tiring to see it, Since I thought I was going to end with Black Adam Locked in Prison for Not Saying: " Shazam" and Become Black Adam, but then comes Sabbac and Black Adam is back again, but aside from that I liked it, Another thing I didn't like was that because they had to kill Dr. Fate, The truth is he had a lot of potential as a character, and to make a movie for himself and see more of his story, and the last thing I liked, was that in the Post-Credits Scene, Superman played by actor Henry Cavill appeared, The truth is that I was impressed because I did not expect it, I hope that in a sequel to Black Adam we can see Superman fight with Black Adam and maybe also see him fight with Shazam or the 2 together against Black Adam, Well that was my opinion about Black Adam, I'm not good at doing this kind of thing but I wanted to say my opinion, It's long but I hope you like it, greetings to those who are watching it.… Expand

I went to see a cool destructive movie in which The Rock kicks the absolute living s***t out of everyone, and that's exactly what I got. Couldn't be happier.

There was a bit of too much fluff at the very end, can be cut in future releases.

Black Adam is entertaining (even a bit generic as mostly haters say) DCU action movie. Hopefully it turns out ok *fingers crossed* James Gunn & that other fella have big tasks to do. I think they're gonna do well & first sign for it is Peacemaker's S02 arriving maybe before next summer. Also hope good success for DCU's Blue Beetle when it comes out before mid next year. I would give it a 9/10 if it was in 3D and if it didn't use the Illuminati sign for freedom. In reality the Illuminati is against freedom and is for the new word order and depopulation. I don't really know what the critics are on about. To be fair it isen't the best movie ever made, its not close to the brilliance of the likes of "The godfather", but it doesen't have to be.

It was entertaining. It goes back to the roots of superhero films. The story is fairly simple and it features a traditionally strong character for the fans. Streamers, the long-awaited DC Comic adaptation of Black Adam is finally here. We finally get to see Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam. Black Adam is set about 5,000 years after he was bestowed with powers. After freeing his hometown, Kahndaq,Streamers, the long-awaited DC Comic adaptation of Black Adam is finally here. We finally get to see Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam. Black Adam is set about 5,000 years after he was bestowed with powers. After freeing his hometown, Kahndaq, Black Adam finds himself waiting in confinement for his time to return as Kahndaq’s savior. Freed from his tomb, Black Adam is ready to unleash his justice on modern day Kahndaq and dares anyone to stop him. DC Comic action ensues.

Let’s get this out of the way: the movie is quite entertaining but of course DC Comics will DC Comics. As we know from their previous installments, they come with a lot of hype but sometimes they just fizzle in the full execution. This movie is no different, but the fizzle is honestly quite less. The issues here are more annoying than bad. For instance, The Rock and the rest of the cast are going to bring us comedy, but I found that the one-liners that were supposed to make us chuckle missed the mark. Watching, I knew the line was supposed to be funny, but the flow of the movie blows passed the line or something. It seems like the editing of the movie messed with the timing for some of these jokes, and it happened a few too many times. There are still funny moments that hit hard, but those moments that fell flat are noticeable. Along with that, the script felt repetitive. Characters seemed to be saying the same thing over and over. I get that they were trying to drive home the theme of the movie but come off it!

Next, I hate when really smart people in movies conveniently forget something they know that is very simple just so it can lead to a twist or turning point in the movie. It happened here and it literally makes no sense. It’s just annoying that it happened. It’s not terrible just like eh come on DC, y’all couldn’t have thought of a better way to either make the situation harder to figure out or something. Again, annoying but not bad.

Lastly, we’re fighting this god-like figure, why do we bring someone to the fight that clearly can’t help. My girl, Quintessa Swindell wasn’t asked to do much with her character, Cyclone, so naturally she did perfectly well. However, Cyclone had no business in this movie. Her powers were demonstrated beautifully and very artistically but in no way would be helpful in this fight. Like come on DC Comics, y’all could’ve put any other character in this spot that might have been actually helpful. So again, it’s not bad just annoying or a missed opportunity by the filmmakers. On top of that, it’s hard to have a movie with characters similar to the MCU and then try to differentiate those characters. I find Dr. Fate and Atom Smasher a bit too close to Dr. Strange and Ant-Man. It’s hard to see them demonstrate powers and not get the feeling I’ve seen this before. This isn’t the movie’s fault but it’s just a byproduct of the DC and Marvel race copycatting each other over the decades. Nevertheless, it’s hard to shake that feeling, especially in the fight sequences.

Now, for the good. The movie is crisp, clean, hard hitting, similar to the other DC movies. On this alone, the movie is one of those movies you turn on just to ooh and ahh at the action sequences on FX. The characters are portrayed very well, and producers definitely cast the movie well. Johnson’s Black Adam is stoic, powerful, callous but caring and clever. Of course, we get the power for the character, but Johnson also shows some sentimental acting in the flick that helps show the character’s depth of emotions and burden in the movie. They could’ve easily taken the character into a typical Johnson film and comedy, but they toed the line pretty well, allowing him some comic relief without losing the stoic strength. Aldis Hodge’s Hawkman is suave, smart, powerful and relentless. Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate was quite fitting as well.

With that said, Black Adam is an entertaining movie that plans to keep the DC Comic Universe continuing over the next years. Black Adam isn’t without its issues which is typical to DC Comics and their finnicky execution. Dwayne Johnson and cast bring a hard-hitting character to life. It’s hard to say this movie is not worth seeing on the big screen but I also realize comic fans may also be annoyed with the movie a bit. You will not be mad seeing this on big screen but just realize there will be some DC Comic movie issues. I mean the movie is worth seeing for the after-credit scene alone… *Nudge Nudge*… Expand

It has been a while since my partner and I went to the movies. Recently a new cinema opened up in our town so we decided to call in and watch Black Adam. A simple distraction from reality and a fun time. It is fair to say this film wont win any Oscar’s or generate cerebral thinking, but if you want a fun time and enjoy over the top action that doesn’t take its self too serious then I would advice giving this a watch. This film lacks much in “in your face” political messaging which is what I’ve been missing. I want good, fun films given how depressing the world is.… Expand

Black Adam is not without its flaws, but i still enjoy the hell out of it, the problem that i have with Black Adam is that i never really buy all the Kahndaq people 100%, in the end i only still buy half of it, but i still fine with it, it's not like their characters are terrible, it just most of the time they are doing just a poor performance except the actress who played the mom and probably Ishmael for the most part, at least i still got some of the laughs from one of them, some of the slower scene was sometimes misplaced including some of the flashback, and some nit picky here and there, the rest of Black Adam is an exciting comic book film that fills with a very impressive battle that also fills with dazzling visual and cool style, Black Adam himself played incredibly well by Dwayne Johnson, he was just unstoppable in the most badass way, Justice Society has just become one of my favorite superhero team specifically in movies, they are fun and they are great, Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Cyclone, and Atom Smasher all of them are a hit for me, i love every single one of them, though i do wish they have something more with Doctor Fate because i think Pierce Brosnan was just unbelievably good playing the characters, again at least we do still have that one moment, i would love to see Justice Society again in movie maybe even their own movie, i would also love to have a specifically Doctor Fate standalone or a prequel film, and last but not least, the main villain, i think the main villain is doing as fine as most of the hero in the movie, so overall Black Adam is a quite a fun ride, 2 hours did feel quite goes by, an exciting back and forth battle that fills with dazzling visual effect and style, great score, great sound, great performances for most of the cast, being the first original DCEU movie that release in theaters only since WW84, Black Adam is not perfect but it's still great, it's still fun, it's still fascinating, it's still exciting, and i enjoy the hell out of it.… Expand

I freaking loved this movie, Dwayne Johnson has finally found his character; he is Black Adam! It was just fun to watch, and the movie was an adventure a minute. Definitely a very good film. There's NON-STOP action and Dwayne Johnson gives a stellar performance. Ignore the so-called "expert critics" you hear about giving this a bad review. Ya pude ver la película y que puedo decir, iba con expectativas bajas es una película de The rock Johnson y es de superhéroes no le puedo pedir mucho, pero Dios de verdad me sorprendió, no es una revolución ni es la mejor película de superhéroes pero cumplió por completo con lo que ella prometió es una película muy activa, buenos efectos, escuché que abusa de las escenas en cámara lenta y en lo personal adore la primera pelea en cámara lenta y la última cunado este ya no cuenta con sus poderes, personajes carismáticos y mucha comedia también, no todos los chistes conectaro y la mujer y Niño no me terminaron de encantar, pero doctor destino y el hombre Halcón son de lo mejor de la película.
