This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I didn't understand why so many bad comments were coming, so it wasn't a very good movie but it didn't deserve so bad reviews.

DC started a new series in the first film(Man Of Steel) about the Superman , which was the second film while Batman V Superman, although it was actually a bit of a batman-weighted film, at least giving it an impression.
I like the movie, I like the batman, maybe I like this movie so I like it.

but frankly the scenes script all came to me beautiful,I didn't like the last battle scene thats it

I also liked the fact that the death of the superman added an emotional atmosphere to the film.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Underrated by critics

Only hated because it doesn't spoonfeed you with a basic and formulaic plot like what has become the "Gold Standard" from Marvel Studios

Critics and general audiences went in with a want to hate this, because it was competition for the MCU. We saw it from the moment Ben Affleck was cast as Batman, and honestly he was fantastic

This is a movie that has blown everything the MCU has done out of water in terms of story, character development, acting, effects, score.

It introduced us to Wonder Woman, gave us a compelling Superman who struggled and questioned himself, which critics whined about because they were upset he wasn't just a brainless smiling goon saving cats from trees.

The Martha scene is another example of how stupid audiences and critics have gotten. Everyone acts like it was just "they became friends because their Moms had the same name". That is far from the truth. Clark had already realized Bruce refused to listen to him, so if he said 'save my mother' he had no way of knowing if Batman would care. And Bruce had no way of knowing the extent of Superman's powers, so for all he knew he had read his mind and was messing with him to save himself. That's why Bruce went into a rage screaming "WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?!"

When he found out it was Superman's mother's name when Lois put herself between Clark and the spear that was when Bruce realized how wrong he had been. You could see it in his eyes when he staggered back before angrily chucking the spear away. He had almost become the very thing he had spent his adult life fighting against. A monster who kills the innocent.

Vowing to save Martha Kent was his way to atone, to show that he was willing to make things right to make up for the mistake he had made judging Superman because of his own rage towards him.

The irony of people having a simplistic view of that scene is that they thought the plot-hole and plot-convenience bullcrap of Captain America: Civil War to reveal Bucky had killed Tony's parents was a good scene, when no matter how you look at it that scene was stupid compared to the Martha scene.

This film was fantastic and the Ultimate Edition was incredible. When the film was announced to have been 3 hours the same media who just this year gushed over the idea of a 3 hours Avengers: Endgame whined until WB forced Zack Snyder to chop 30 minutes off the runtime. Those 30 minutes ended up being important.

The theatrical cut was good, the Ultimate Cut was a masterpiece and like The Dark Knight nothing the MCU has will ever compare. No matter how much critics are overly critical of DC movies while using the lowest of bars to judge the MCU

This film is why I stopped caring what critics had to say about anything, especially seeing the high marks they gave to even the worst MCU movies

This movie is an underrated gem and those who love it will always be able to debunk the whiny complaints by people who only hate it because it's not the MCU

I was hoping to see Superman and Batman fight each other for 2 hours. I didn't need them to have a reason to fight. I just wanted them to fight over the most trivial reason. After all, I am watching the film for that very reason. Then why aren't they doing it? And on top of it the quality of the movie was also terrible. The audio was too low to be understood without subtitles, the video was too dark, there was too much talking, no Snyder-ish thing was happening most of the time, even their fight didn’t seem like Zack Snyder’s work (the warehouse fight looked more like it). And the Doomsday fight looked forced. And in the movie titled Batman v Superman the fight between the two legends lasts for barely 10 minutes after which they just say Martha and the fight ends.

People often have a problem with this movie because Batman was killing everyone and Superman looked very gloomy. But personally I didn't mind that, since I hadn't watched any Batman movies before (this was my 2nd DC movie after Man of Steel) so I didn't know Batman has a no kill rule, and I didn't like the happy underwear-on-pants Superman (it's the very reason why I wanted Batman to beat up Superman in this movie). Henry Cavill's Superman is the reason why I started liking Superman in the first place. I also do not have any problem with Lex Luthor since I liked the way he spoke; he sounded a bit like Shah Rukh Khan. And also because I hadn't seen Lex Luthor before, so I just saw him as an original character.

But afterwards I watched the Ultimate Edition with subtitles, and this time I was paying more attention to the other characters instead of waiting for the two heroes to beat out each other the way I thought they would do. I think this is something common in all the Zack Snyder movies - you can only appreciate them if you already know the story. Because then you pay more attention to the visual appeal and how cool everyone and everything is looking. Their dialogues now made more sense, since I could read the subtitles instead of struggling with the volume. I was patiently looking at each and every scene. All the pieces that didn't connect in the theatrical version, most of them did in the Ultimate Edition.

In my opinion the theatrical version should have never existed. I mean this movie is based on two of the world's most powerful superheroes. Why wouldn't people want to see it no matter how long it runs for? And since it made more sense, more people would have seen it, because of which it would have earned more.

Maybe in earlier years we all asked ourselves who could win if two of the most known superheroes fight each other.

About the movie itself, Batman, as well as Superman, is well depicted and also truthful, I as well surprise to see Jeremy Irons playing Alfred, the butler, and the first time I saw Lex Luthor played in a film so I could remember was a pleasant encounter, even if he resembled in some moments with Batman's nemesis, the Joker.

Ben Afleck for his part could not better fit the role like a glove, a magnificent performance of the Ghotham vigilante that had not been seen since Keaton's performance. A film with ups and downs, but as a new spectator, it returned my affection for the genre, looking forward to seeing Zack Snyder JL and being able to unite them as a cult trilogy for a large part of the fandome with a narrative of a Greek epic. This review comes from the person who never watch the theatrical version of the movie, and watch the Ultimate Edition instead, even with that i think Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice was a very big, huge, and wide complete film, it is one of the most darkest Superhero movie i've seen, not even The Dark Knight trilogy, but the difference between those two are that The Dark Knight trilogy while it still has it humor, the rest of the film was still execute way better than this, BVS was still very flawed, mostly from the runtime that are felt, Jesse Eisenberg horrible performance, and too long sequences, i'm pretty sure with the extended version, the consistency and the situation of the story was better even without watching the theatrical version, the in depth between two main characters was superb, the performance by all the cast especially Henry Cavill and Amy Adams performance that are way better than Man Of Steel, didn't have a problem with them, and of course Ben Affleck as both Batman and Bruce Wayne was great, and god i wish Lex Luthor played by another actor, it's too bad, the action sequence was good enough, overall BVS still not as amazing as what Marvel have been coming out at that time even The Ultimate Edition, it still a pretty good movie, and it's still an achievement of Superhero comics to get this movie happening just like The Avengers, flawed but respectful.

This is an exceptional film that has themes overlooked by everybody. This is a bold, unique, different and a gorgeous film. The direction by Zack Snyder the cinematography by Larry Fong and the writing by David S Goyer, Chris Terrio and the editing of David S Brenner is immaculate. The film does something that was really essential for the characters of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Lex Luthor by deconstructing them , making them relevant in modern times and making Superman especially quite relatable. Ben Affleck,Jessie Eisenberg, Henry Cavill Amy Adams and Gal Gadot knock it out of the park with their stellar performance. This movie is a special gift from Zack Snyder for its comic-book fans.

Those references to Dark Knight Returns, The Death of Superman, a glimpse of A Death in the Family comic-book story-lines successfully create hype among the fans. Not only that, Zack Snyder has perfectly built the foundation for future Justice League movies by integrating the characters into the story. For me, this is more to Justice League prequel movie, rather than a Batman or Superman movie.

The tone is dark. Yes, ultra dark and gritty, that many people and critics complain about. Well, for me, this is fine. Since beginning, DC intentionally made this movie dark, with philosophical serious theme about good and evil, gods and men. I can enjoy it.

Now the actors. Ben Affleck and Jesse Eisenberg did the job very well! Need some more exploration of this version of Batman, though (Batman solo movie, please). Henry Cavill? No doubt, he is always perfect as modern-version of the Man of Steel.

A little bit complicated narrative style – but for me it was okay. After watching the movie 2 times, I got everything perfectly.

Well done!

PEOPLE HATE WHAT THEY DONT UNDERSTAND -- Martha Kent.

Movie is good I don't know if some critics are even relevant when it comes to super heroes movies. It has flaws yes but the good things outweighs the bad ones. The characters are on point, the entire cast was amazing, Affleck best batman so far and Gadot was great as WW, Henry has flesh out his Superman acting as well. The villain of the movie (Lex Jr.) has very good motives I think this is one of a few villains in super heroes movies done right because this is not Lex Luthor Father this is Alexander Luthor Son which is just psychotic from his parent abuses. There are 3 plot lines but they all converge at the end and form one so I don't know why is that a problem either. I think a 4 "plot line" could be the teases but they are just that TEASES of something greater that to be frank I want to see. Overall the movie is great, I think it has a good balance between action and character development and yes there is character development and whoever tell you otherwise don't understand this movie at all.

For this movie to have been given such a low rating by them means either that they wouldn't know good if it slapped them in the face or they were expecting B vs S to be another Marvel movie. This is not Marvel. Now I'm not putting down Marvel movies. I've seen them all and liked them, some more than others of course. But this movie has a much more intense storyline and let's face it, there is no one in the Marvel Universe (except perhaps Punisher) who is anything like Batman. As far as I'm concerned, this movie blew the Marvel movies out of the water. I loved the story. The acting is superb. It has heart and I found myself actually caring about the characters. This movie will end up being a box-office success and Warner Bros. will continue moving forwardBatman, Superman & Wonder Woman on the big screen all at once is something comic book, and everyday movie fans alike have all been waiting for. This movie will end up being a box-office success and Warner Bros. will continue moving forward with the franchise. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice overall was a fun and enjoyable movie. It gives comic-book fans exactly what they've wanted and casual moviegoers the chance to become invested. It isn't without flaw, but contrary to popular belief, the good outweighs the bad. But why are the critical reviews so negative? Ultimately because the tone is untraditional dark, the ratio of story to action was unbalanced, and most importantly, people just don't know what they want when it comes to superhero movies.

The movie begins with a civilian's view of the destructive battle scene between Superman and General Zod in 2013's Man of Steel. The viewer is then taken into Bruce Wayne's point of view watching a local Wayne Enterprise building get demolished, as he tries to save them. Early on, this movie establishes the conflict between the two titular characters, and the tone of the film. The two heroes clash while Superman's character & actions are brought into question. We see a physically and emotionally battle-scarred Batman whose sole motive is protecting everyone from the threat that is a rogue Superman. The two join sides, team up with Wonder Woman, and lay the foundation for DC's Justice League franchise.

If this were a Batman solo movie, the overall reception would be more positive because he's a character that can get away with this darker, more grounded tone that Zack Snyder decided to go with. But Superman is the boy scout of superheroes, which gives viewers a very different version of Superman. The film's dark tone gives the viewers an interesting take on the Boy in Blue. Snyder and co. made a character with unbelievably, god-like abilities more human than viewers have seen since the CW's Smallville. The dark tone however, did work for Ben Affleck's Batman.

His portrayal of the DarkKnight exceeded expectations. Every scene with Batman/Bruce Wayne is one to remember. Affleck's acting, the camera movement and cinematography coupled with Hans Zimmer's score made for a mysterious, and downright scary interpretation of Batman. An idea that could have been fleshed out more was the foiling of Batman and Superman. Snyder attempted to use Batman's savage crime fighting methods and gruesome reputation, as a way to highlight Superman's supposed-to-be wholesomeness, which fell flat. Seeing Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman brought to life was exciting, but a bit of a let down in the movie. She was fun to watch, but her portrayal fell short of expectations because it wasn't as believable as her cast mates. Her role was small, but just enough doses for us to keep interest in what's to come in her own solo movie. Wonder Woman mainly acts as the bridge from Batman to the "metahuman" world, and setting up as one of the founding members of the Justice League.

Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor was interesting to watch. He brought a very different vibe to the character while still giving viewers the murderous masterminded villain that we know him to be. Like Henry Cavill's Superman, Eisenberg's Luthor is young and inexperienced in what he does. What ultimately drives Lex in this film is what has always driven him, knowledge and power. Those expecting Lex and Superman to be fully developed characters when this is the 2nd movie of a growing franchise are the one's who were let down by Dawn of Justice.

Man of Steel sparked debates that the true Superman wouldn't have fought so carelessly and end up destroying a big city, let alone kill an enemy. This Superman isn't one that fans are familiar with yet, and if Batman v Superman doesn't do anything for you, it should at least give answers as to why that route was taken. To build this hero up into one that Superman fans are conversant with. It poses the question that will linger on within these films; where do we as humans fit in this world filled with aliens and godly beings? The idea of gods amongst men and a very particular scene with Bruce Wayne teases that DC is going in the route of the video-game/comic book series story line, Injustice: Gods Among Us. Holly Hunter plays the front runner of the political subplot in the film as Senator Finch, who also, gives us the hopeful connection to Amanda Waller and the upcoming film Suicide Squad. This also gives the DC universe that grounded feeling they're trying so hard to achieve, which can be challenging when there are characters like Superman, Green Lantern, and Martian Manhunter that exists in this world. Hunter acts as the voice of reason and concern that most people would have when it comes to idea of a Superman.

A key reason people are let down is because fans and critics alike aren't sure what they wanted from this movie. People are forgetting that this isn't the seasoned Superman we know

Both defying my lowStaying true to the darker side of DC comics, Zack Snyder delivers another well-meaning superhero movie that isn't without it's flaws. Thankfully it manages to surpass it's predecessor "Man of Steel" in quality. Both defying my low expectations and providing a more satisfying and enjoyable start to DC's cinematic universe.

One of the things I really like about the movie is that you can tell it is very inspired by the comics. Some elements are outright borrowed from some of DC's best stories. Yet at the same time it manages to do it's own things. This allows for some satisfying references and throwback scenes.

Now one thing that is definitely true about the movie is that it carries a darker and more solemn tone than other superhero films. It thankfully ever reaches the levels of melodrama that killed Man of Steel for me, but this isn't really a lighthearted affair. That's not to say it isn't fun though. That fun just comes from the brutal, explosive action and getting wrapped up in the plot. Something that's actually pretty easy to do.

The movie does a pretty good job at putting these heroes at odds with each other, even if the events that lead to their actual showdown feel a little jumbled do to how much is going on the film. Yes this is another superhero movie with a little too much going on. It's trying hard to do it's own thing while setting up a larger universe and cramming in fan service along the way. It's the kind of thing that killed two of Spider-Man's movie series. Sometimes superhero movies just do too much and as a result cause elements to flow together unevenly and hurt the overall film. Batman v Superman unfortunately doesn't escape this. However thanks to excellent depictions of both of it's title heroes and some original ideas along the way the movie still has a chance to please.

One particularly controversial new idea is the movie's depiction of Lex Luther. Jesse Eisenberg plays a much different version of the character than what has been seen before in movies and even the comics. He's an eccentric, crazy kid with a God complex. Not everyone is likely to enjoy this unique interpretation of the character as I did. Some are even likely to find him annoying (some bad lines here and there and goofy delivery don't help), but I for one thought this version of Lex was more entertaining than any comic or previous movie version of him. This is going to be a change not everyone is going to get with.

As far as the rest of the cast goes, for starters Henry Cavill is a darn good Superman. Definitely fitting the comic book character. However it's not always easy to pick up on that as he is outshined by Ben Affleck as Batman. Not only does he steal the majority of the movie's scenes away from Cavill, but he nails this version of the character. I was one of the people who doubted him from day one. Now I'm eating crow. As far as the rest of the cast goes, there isn't really anyone noteworthy to talk about. The only other character that really gets any screen time is Amy Adams' Louise Lane and she's really boring. It's hardly any fault of Adams. Her character is just so lame here.

Outside of nailing it's heroes, the movie really succeeds in the action department. It's exciting and violent. Snyder does rely on explosions and the final portion of the film does devolve into visual noise, but I more than entertained by it. The brutal fight scenes stay true to the characters and are a blast to watch. So much so that the movie stumbles when blows aren't being exchanged.

The story itself is solid, but tries way too hard to be deep and meaningful. The movie suffers when it tries to be something more than a superhero slugfest. Sadly, that's kind of something it tries a lot. It ends up being heavy-handed at times and cheesy at it's worst.

Another one of the big issues with the movie is Doomsday. This villain feels shoehorned it right when the movie should have ended. It feels like an unnecessary inclusion that doesn't really do the character or the movie justice. It makes sense that this would have taken place later on in the DC cinematic universe and doesn't really fit in well with the events of this movie. Oh well. At least we get some pretty cool action that pulls Wonder Woman into the fight and an ending for one of the characters that I didn't see coming.

So yes, Batman v Superman is flawed and perhaps not the best way to kick of a cinematic universe. That being said the satisfying depictions of the heroes, decent (if overly packed) plot, and cool new ideas do still make it worth a watch. One that will entertain hardcore superhero fans, but displease the more picky among us. As a result it's one of those divisive movies, but not one that will turn everyone away from it.

This movie is excellent, amazing special effects, the characters are well cast and the acting is top notch.
Don't listen to the haters or super nerd geeks who slate the movie, unless you identify with virgins who still live at home in their 30s.

Batman v. Superman is a relaunch of the Batman series, taking place long after the events of The Dark Knight Rises, and it's a direct sequel to Superman: Man of Steel. It would be impossible to give an adequate plot description without spoilers, so let me just start by saying this. The beginning of this film, switches back and fourth between Gotham and Metropolis, shoveling in as much backstory as they possibly can on the two characters in an hour. It is this confusing mix of flashbacks, dreams, and current events, that just leaves your head spinning, after that the movie gets pretty enjoyable until the inevitable fight scene, which was just entirely too long, and shoots off in a direction you wouldn't expect it to. If you're not familiar with the characters from previous films and comics, I assure you that you will have no idea what's happening for most of this film. For those who are more familiar, you'll understand what's happening, but will you care? The way they bring these two franchises together is just an utter mess and the cast from Gotham, in particular, don't make things go smoothly. The cast of Superman has worked together before and Henry Cavill was fantastic, his counterpart however, Ben Affleck, was just as horrible as was expected. I've said it before and I'll say it again, he is a terrific Director, but a complete joke as an actor. Batman is a very difficult role for anyone to play, because it requires two personalities, Affleck barely has one, and I was just awestruck by how someone with his reputation actually may have been a worse Batman than Val Kilmer. On the flip side, Jesse Eisenberg, portraying Lex Luthor, was a revelation! Similar to how people felt when Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker, people laughed at Eisenberg's inclusion, but I found him to be the best part of the whole film. The bottom line here, DC saw how much money Marvel was raking in with the Avengers and wanted to jump on the bandwagon. They didn't want to go the same route as the Avengers did, but their way was far too confusing for the general audience, and only somewhat interesting to the fans of both series. In the end, I think the second film will clear up the mistakes of the first and will be much more enjoyable, but as far as this one goes, I could take it or leave it. Expand

To others i can understand why the story is incoherent. I gave this movie a 10 despite its flaws because even though its not perfect, it was personally the most immersive, fun, and thrilling experience to watch two of my favourite heroes finally get together on the big screen. All in all the movie is beautifully made, with some amazing cg shots and epic moments with some grand-scale fight between god like beings. The movie could be even better, but for those who think this movie had great potential just wait for the r rated blu ray cut. It may redeem itself there. Expand

First part of the movie was way too creepy - I didn't like it, this is not a horror after all. And why Ben Affleck? WTF is Ben Affleck, they could invite Rob Schneider with the same success.
Second part Batman and Superman try to determine whose chin is more square (Green Guy almost won Square Chin Competition). This part is full of explosions, lightning, space, green guys, and benafflecks. I liked everything but the last part.
Nice movie overall, worth watching, especially if you liked first movie, but Man of Steel was ... more solid probably? Man of Steel had it simple plot, and here plot is way too twisted. For drama movies this is good, but not for this one. 6-7 of ten.

I'm not gonna try and write this in english, I simply can't. Sorry english speakers.

If you are a big fanboy of the Justice League you are not going to like this move but me how is not a Justice League fanboy really enjoyed the movie.

This movie is the slow start on DC:s Justice League movie series, but take it for what it is a GREAT first movie and i hope that they will continue and i hope it will get stronger and stronger.

Well that's all about that.

The movie it self are introducing Superman ,Batman and Wonder Woman together

Ben Affleck are good as Batman, he is doing a great roll as a burden Bruce Wayne, who want to do something to make the world a better place before he die's (and before he gets to old)

Henry Cavill is doing very nice (same as Man of Steel) Superman, as man how is trying to find he's place in this world and trying to find a balance for "Superman" in our world and being accepted by the world.
He is a man with a conscience (really well played by Henry Cavill giving Superman this) how is trying his best to help the world.

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman gets a little time in this movie but here story is told enough to make her interesting (a little more about her backstory but maybe next movie)
Gal Gadot herself are Good as Wonder Woman, they really got the right person for the roll

Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor is BAD really really BAD, he is a mix of Joker and Lex Luther tougher and are pulling down this movie, Please to NOT BRING HIM IN THE NEXT MOVE,
Jesse Eisenberg are doing what he can do with he's roll, he is acting is good but he has a very bad script to work with (as Lex Luthor......lol as --->Lex "Joker" Luthor

Slightly overlong in term of running time, the film opens surprisingly beautiful with flashback of Wayne's disastrous childhood and further progresses into the reckless fight between Superman and Zod at the end of previous installment. The ambitious and potential major acts in the film - conflict between Batman and Superman, Lex Luthor's motives and the fight against villain at the climax; all seems to be underdeveloped and not well executed, leaving several questions of all the intentions behind. Ben Affleck as Batman is on par with Bale's version but a bit more brutal and stubborn, Cavill's Superman is fine but a bit depressed, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman is definitely the gorgeous one and she manages to capture the attentions even with a limited screening time, Jeremy Iron's Alfred owns a great chemistry with Wayne but Eisenberg portrayal of Lex Luthor is over exaggerated. Although heavily CGIs, Snyder has delivered spectacular visual effects and intense actions among the superheroes while the collaboration between Zimmer and Junkie XL are just outstanding to produce different adrenaline driven theme scores for all the superheroes. While it might not be the best superheroes flick, lacks of humors and emotional depth compared to The Dark Knight trilogy, it is an overall improvement from Man of Steel and the Nolan style ending is still impressive enough to further expands into the universe of Justice League. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. SPOILERS! There is an amazing and an awful side to this movie, but finally it's probably a 7. It was very enjoyable, normally would be 8 or 9, but you can't deny the clear plot problems. It was all over the place, and although Batman and Superman teaming up at the end was an okay ending (although I didn't take off points for this, not a preferred ending for me), Batman and Superman forgot their differences too quickly. The original plot of the movie was the best, but it got out of hand although replaced with a new decent plot. But the transitions were awful. Then there was too much action. Great action, but, hell, there was no longer a plotline the movie was just a fight. The acting can be seen both ways, but Eisenberg was Lex Luthor, not the Joker. Although as a Joker he did well. Even as Lex Luthor he was okay. Affleck was actually great. Cavill was up and down. Gadot... not so good. But the acting was still more than satisfactory. This movie is almost an 8, but... eh... It was just out of focus and execution wasn't as good as it could be. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Doomsday, relleno nivel transformers 4 y Spiderman 3. Hacia falta meterlo???? Y asi de Mal??? Para eso ni lo saques, para lo que hace.

Matar a Superman...en serio? La JLA va a ser la muerte y regreso de Superman? Parece que estan intentando hacer el proyecto Superman lives, y lo va a hacer Snyder? No no no....no va a salir bien.

I gave this movie a solid 8. It was A L OT of fun and a MUCH needed upgrade from the disappointing Man of Steel movie.
To my surprise, Affleck was a very good Batman. Lex/Eisenberg were the surprising (to me) weak links. The way Lex was written reminded me of a hybrid Joker/Lex character more than what Lex Luther is supposed to be. Eisenberg was a terrible casting choice.
Other than that, the cast was very solid, the action was great, and it was a fun and enjoyable movie. I didn't find the story hard to follow at all. This movie is a much needed win for DC in this genre!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just saw the movie. Had to write a review after seeing what the critics said. This is more of a movie for people who enjoy comics, than it is for people who enjoy how a movie and story is told. Ill get the negatives out of the way first. Yes there are issues with juggling all of the characters and the transitions from scene to scene stink. And there are also plot holes. But they dont detract from the overall movie. Other than that the movie is good. Its obviously just trying to summarize everything up quickly for the Justice league movie and to catch up to marvel. Ben affleck is probably the best on screen batman and deserves a solo film, gal gadot is great in her given time, and jessie is just ok. He gives a very strange depiction of thr villian but i believe some of his crazy can be explained im future films. The reason is he seems to know at the end that something is coming. Perhaps he had a vision like batman. All in all it doesnt deserve as much criticism as its getting. If you enjoy comics youll like it. Expand

However, once I actually saw this movie it left me with nothing but smiles. This film was filled with amazing fights, a great soundtrack and an overall feel of a well made superhero movie that many studios such as marvel are missing in some of their films. Some people believe that there were elements to the movie that were not needed and that the studio tried to fit too much into a single movie. I too had such a fear, but after seeing the events told I thought the movie had a great setup and then a great conclusion. While this film may not please everyone with exact copies of moments from the comics, the film did provide the events with only slight changes that I found exciting. And while certain members of the cast might not seem like a perfect fit to the characters(Jesse Eisenburg as Lex Luthor) all actors/actresses were great fits for this film's version of those iconic characters. Do not listen to the big name critics this time, go see the movie for yourself and I believe that even if you don't love it you will think that it was a lot better than what they are saying about it. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Being a mega-fan of Batman, a big fan of Superman, and a big fan of DC Comics in general, I went into this movie really excited. I'd been waiting for this movie for three years when I watched it. After watching it, I was satisfied. I'd been a little disappointed at the plot, but overall, it was a satisfying experience. Does it deserve all the hate it's getting? No. Are people who watched the movies just fanboys and brand loyalists if they tell you that you probably didn't understand the "Martha" scene if you didn't like it? Well, probably not actually. If you really think that Batman and Superman stopped fighting because their mothers have the same name, you're mistaken, but that's an argument for another day. "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is a pretty enjoyable movie, especially for fans of the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel, however, the movie has a few significant flaws. One of the biggest is Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. I liked the character and Eisenberg's performance, but the problem is...the character is supposed to be Lex Luthor. Really, he feels more like a blend of the Joker and the Riddler. Other than his genius-level intellect, his name, and getting his head shaved at the end, he bears no similarity to Lex Luthor whatsoever. Moreover, I thought the actual titular "Batman v Superman" fight was a bit short. It was only eight minutes long (possibly a reference to the source material, "The Dark Knight Returns"), and a lot of it was spent talking or just standing. There wasn't really enough actual fighting. I thought that the character of Wonder Woman wasn't given enough meaning to the plot and this movie spent too much time adapting panels from the comics to please comic book readers. Other than that, the editing was all over the place. Some things didn't make sense, and when the Ultimate Edition was released and I watched it, I was truly baffled as to why key plot points were completely taken out of the film as opposed to other scenes. Now, the film uses its time very well, but the problem is that it doesn't have ENOUGH time. Rather than use several films to build up an epic battle between the two greatest, most iconic heroes of all time, Zack Snyder makes an attempt to stuff a great deal of content in a 2.5 hour film. It feels really rushed and at times, even pointless. However, with great performances from Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, the introduction of the most iconic female character in comic books into cinema, stellar fight sequences, and the teasing of the coming of Darkseid and his Apokoliptian army, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is a pretty solid film, though a bit lackluster at times. This is, however, not deserving of a critic score of 44 on Metacritic and a Tomatometer rating of 27% on Rotten Tomatoes. Not at all. This isn't a bad movie at all. It's pretty solid, albeit disappointing at times. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is pretty underrated in my opinion. However, from a critical standpoint, the storytelling is very sloppy, with many scenes simply crammed in next to each other to create a big blob. On a positive note, the action sequences are incredible and Zack Snyder's visual mindset is definitely noticeable while watching Batman v Superman. Ben Affleck surprisingly does very well with the character of Batman, putting his own interpretation on the iconic character, despite Batman killing people in the movie at times, which is very far outside Batman's moral compass in the comic books. Henry Cavill does a good job as Superman, giving a more dark and gritty tone to the role. Gal Gadot is more Diana than Wonder Woman in the film, but her scenes as Wonder Woman play out as some of the best scenes in the movie, and she does a terrific job with the character. Amy Adams as Lois Lane is often simply used as a plot device, as there are scenes where I felt she didn't have to actually be there for anything, but she's just there because I guess she's Superman's girlfriend, but I don't really know what her place is supposed to be in the film. Jesse Eisenberg is miscast as Lex Luthor. He does a good job doing Jesse Eisenberg-ish things, but he just wasn't meant to play Lex Luthor. The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg all have cameo appearances, but how they are presented in the movie is a bit disappointing, and seems very abrupt and just the most convenient way to fit them into he movie's already convoluted plot. The third act is fittingly epic, giving some of the best action I've seen in a superhero movie in along time. It also includes a sacrifice that was very emotionally gripping, but I won't reveal too much information. My biggest concern after watching Batman v Superman was my realization that if you have seen every trailer, you have basically seen all of the important plot points in the movie, aside a few new unseen things and other surprises.

All in all, Batman v Superman doesn't quite live up to expectations, but it delivers a powerful and action-packed---even if messy---story with stunning visuals and great performances, which sets the tone for future Justice League movies and the long-anticipated DC Cinematic Universe.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This was my favorite superhero movie of last year. I'm having a really hard time understanding why this receives all of the hate it does. I personally think a lot of people were expecting a marvel style movie and we're put off by the realistic tone Snyder was trying to achieve. I loved the build up to the fight it's self and I thought the everything before it was nessecary and expected in a follow up to Man of Steel. The Battle of Metropolis was a big deal, lots of people died, the first portion of BvS is all about the fallout to that battle and was something that needed to be addressed. In a sense BvS is about varying opinions of what is right and what is wrong, and I think that it showcases how our world would actually react if something like Superman existed. This is a film which requires you to pay attention to everything, and one that benefits from additional viewings. It's a film that requires you the think beyond the script, to question and draw conclusions of your own. It doesn't shove everything down your throat, it expects you to pay attention and if you don't you most likely will find the movie boring and a waste of time. A bit of advise, though not required I recommend watcing Man of Steel before BvS, it just helps justify the majority of this film. I'd also strongly recommend skipping the theatrical cut and watching the Ultimate Edition which I think was the version of the film that Snyder wanted us to see, it fixes a lot of the problems you'll find in the negative reviews across the Internet. Overall I think BvS is a great film, but if you go into it expecting a marvel style film you will be disappointed. Expand

As far as stories go I really enjoyed it. It was a nice and fresh approach with lots of great action moments.
To be quite honest I'm looking forward to seeing more of this Batman more than anything else. I couldn't care much for the upcoming Suicide Squad with that generic thug-looking Joker, but Batman v Superman was a great watch. Yes this Batman is very different, so is the Lex, but why does different have to be so bad? They still stuck to the core of the characters, and that's what matters.
I would recommend this to any Batman or Superman fan and life-long comic book readers.
