This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Beer. Horses. Cowboys. Trucks. The Godfather. Sports. Boxing. Fur coats. These are what make men who they are. #Patriarchy. This movie **** sucked. I know I'm not the target audience, but it'd be nice to feel welcome ya know. The message wasn't even subtle in the slightest. They might as well have just stared directly into the camera and say "Men bad, women good". And the world itself is broken af. So literally anyone could've just come into Barbie land THAT easily? Why was Will Ferrell in this movie? He could've been replaced with anybody and it wouldn't have made a difference. Is this movie a comedy? Didn't laugh a single time. Not even a chuckle. The only reason I don't give this like half a star is cause I didn't hate the ending. But I don't get the gynecologist line at the end. Is it a **** joke to make her feel more human or did she grow genitals cause she's been in the human world so long? Either way. This movie wasn't for me in literally any way. Awful movie, I can't wait for the hype to die down and people forget it exists. Expand

This is what happens when you live in a cave or a bubble and you don't know the real world so you keep reapeating high school shopworn immature speech. At the end only ignorants, radicals and manginas would keep on liking this delusional movie, but it's never late to seek psychiatric help. Expand

Let's just say they use the word patriarchy about 100 times and curse words and talk multiple times about genitalia...this is not a family movie for kids, which it clearly should have been. Don't take your kids if you do go. It is sad to see this film do so well simply based upon the brand name which is being disgraced by this film. I am so tired of all this. No more theater going for my family. It just isn't worth this frustration every time. I don't care how charismatic the actors are or the work put into the sets--which was considerable and noteworthy. It's two hours of non-stop aggressively anti-male propaganda. The film can't go more than 30 seconds without reminding you of the evils of "the patriarchy", how women are horribly oppressed, and how much better everything would be if only women were the only ones allowed to have power. It also **** on the concept of motherhood and relationships. Ken is just pathetically simping for Barbie the entire movie, and Barbie doesn't give a **** about him because she is literally a strong independent woman who don't need no man. There's even a narrator who explicitly tells you two minutes into the movie about how Barbie thinks she won the culture war for feminism, but little does she know in the real world women are horribly oppressed and victimized by men. This movie is literally a two hour radical feminist propaganda piece. Stay away at all costs. And for the love of god do not bring your kids to this - if all that garbage above wasn't enough to drive you away, Barbie is also obsessed with death the whole movie, they bring it up probably 5 or 6 times, and there are multiple not-so-subtle references to Barbie and Ken's genitals, including a scene where one of the Barbies says something along the lines of, "...but I sure wish I could see Ken's package under those shorts". If I had brought a young kid to this movie I would have walked out within the first 5 minutes. This is the worst movie I have ever seen, and it's not close. Expand

The trailer is selling us the idea of a stereotypical barbie and ken falling in love with each other, but the film is exactly the opposite of that. The movie is aiming at brainwashing little girls with feminist propaganda. Barbie find happiness by rejecting love, motherhood and by fighting the so-called patriarchy and having a labiaplasty. It DEEPLY explores the concepts of death, patriarchy, feminism, dare-I-say-it wokeness, etc., concepts that SHOULD NOT be explored TO THAT EXTENT in what should obviously have been a family- and children-oriented film. It's terribly disappointing and dull, and it would confuse many demographics, particularly the children, who would not understand what they are watching. > Related media: I know very little of the Barbie universe.
> Negatives: > 1. After the fun intro, it quickly degenerates into a disappointing and dull film, with only occasional fun bits. I had looked at my watch several times and had really wanted to leave after the third quarter. > 2. It was a strange decision to DEEPLY discuss the concepts of death, patriarchy, feminism, wokeness, etc. in what was supposed to be a family- and children-oriented film..
> 3. If you hate Hollywood shoving wokeness and feminism down your throat, you'll really hate this film! For me, it was more like, 'What the heck is this?!! I don't mind a film imparting wokeness and feminism to the viewer, but do it gradually and do it cleverly. For this film, it was utterly in-your-face and done much, much worse than in the poor Captain Marvel and any other similar terrible films since. > 4. Which demographics is this film targetting? Certainly not the children, who will have no idea what the film is about! They must have been bored when watching this. Teenagers and young adults would not be interested in the oft-repeated wokeness message while older adults had never understood the message in the first place.
> 5. A few parts of the film appears to be designed for the stage (ala Broadway or West End) use and they really looked out of place in this film. Some films get away with this; this film just failed to do so. > 6. Female Mattel employee, Gloria, has a daughter who is quite relevant to the story. However, she frequently appears in the background, with nothing to do. This is a sign of bad directing and writing. >

Positives: None.

How would the different age groups rate this: > Children: Terrible (can't understand it at all and boring) > Teens: Poor > Young adults: Average
> Medium-age adults: Average > Older adults: Poor. > My rating: 2/5 (no half scores). Don't even bother watching it on TV.

One of the worst and most controversial films in very long time. It is highest degree of third wave feminist man hating fantasy.

The way men are treated in this movie, is absolutely horrible and that's the only realistic part in this movie. Because men are treated horribly in real world as well. I have seen so many reviewers point out how this movie shows how badly women were treated and are treated right now. Yeah, i guess that's why men's suicide rate has been sky-high past 10 years. But i guess if you are rich or semi rich woman who lives in gate-protected LA neighborhoods, no wonder you don't know ANYTHING about real world.

This movie had most misleading marketing of all time. Yes, i mean it. Out of all movies ever made, this one takes the prize. They got so many young people hyped to watch fun-happy-go-lucky summer movie. Instead they got another feminist lecture and of course radical feminists in their 30s and 40s love it.

Thankfully this movie will be forgotten very soon.

The sets are well done.
Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling acting is outstanding.
The story depicts the distopia of a Feminist society.
1) In Barbieland men and women do not have genital. Women are indifferent to men. Men pander to women. Women control society. (Very Unnatural and clearly a Feminist dream).
2) In the real world men who do have genital are aggressively misogynistic.
3) Capitalism (that is freedom, liberty) is a metaphor for evil.
4) In Kendom, with men and women happy in traditional roles, the women are depicted as brainwashed.
5) Girls and women are discouraged from being mothers.
6) A real woman has a vagina, which is odd since real women for Feminists can have penises or vaginas.
The movie promotes unnatural social engineering in competition with the Soviet Union and National Socialism.
A very Postmodern Frankfurt School production.
Disgusting and dangerous.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First off, the start of the movie was very funny and nicely portrayed the Barbie world just as the trailers suggested. But as soon as they go to the real world the story suggested by the trailer falls apart. This movie is extremely political and misandrist. It portrays men as useless, dominating perverts and supports their oppression by women. The plot climax is the males (Kens) doing what the females (Barbies) have been doing to them all along, and the resolution is the males getting oppressed again. I initially thought the film was intentionally ironic with this plot because it was so far fetched, but on further thought I was grasping on to what little reference I could come up with to male specific problems. If this movie was actually balanced then deep analysis wouldn't be required to find the male support.

One scene that is truly evident of the films feminist propaganda is the arrest of Barbie and Ken when they enter the real world. Barbie hits a guy who sexually assaults her, the guy seemingly suffers no repercussions but Barbie gets arrested with all the perverted (male) cops enjoying it along the way.

The lack of any politics in the films advertising suggests it's a Trojan horse for feminist propaganda. I'm not quite that far in my thinking, I like believe it was avoiding the topic due to Disney's failure with woke films.

Overall... yay to oppression in the name of equality... I guess.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Barbie is not a 1 and it's not a 10. People usually cling to one thing they like or dislike about the film, and base their whole score on this. Where Barbie excels is its cast and visual style, and some jokes land, mostly in the first 30 minutes of the film. However the moral/message of this movie is very cringe at certain points. I am dedicating my review to this cringe and how this is not the message we should be giving little girls, so if you're not interested, stop reading.

In Barbie World, only Barbies are allowed to live in a house or hold a power position, and (Gosling) Beach Ken can just go live on the beach or something. See, in Barbie world, the roles are reversed to the real world, or i should say 'how this movie perceives the real world'

The director Greta Gerwig, despite being a millionaire woman in the real world, seems to think that the “real world” is a place where all men are stupid sexist pigs who just got their positions in life because of that big dangly thing between their legs. And the movie really wants to hammer it home to you that the Barbie world is just perfect because it’s opposite the ‘real world’, a world where men (Kens) need to live on the streets like hobos, and only women hold positions of power. A Ken couldn’t hold a high-power position in the real world because they are just so darn stupid!

But are these Kens really so different from the men in the ‘real world’? The movie thinks the men in the ‘real world’ are way worse, especially those darn construction workers! Man, if you are a construction worker, you should probably not watch this movie because the film producers do not think highly of you. The movie takes two separate scenes with separate construction workers to really hammer home that construction workers are just generally sexist pigs and punching them for even talking to you is completely acceptable.

There is a scene where Ken goes to the hospital and tries to talk to the ‘doctor’, but just assumes that the woman he is talking to couldn’t be a doctor, because she’s a woman! Even though Ken literally comes from a world ruled by women and he’s probably never even seen a ‘male doctor’ in his life, they throw away the movie’s own established logic to make a ‘Men so sexist!’ joke. My girlfriend and I counted one male in this movie who was not a complete idiot, sexist, or beta and that was the lifeguard who told Ken that he couldnt be a lifeguard because he couldn’t swim, because Beach Ken was too general to have any actual specific talents that could be paying jobs at the beach, making it one of the funny jokes of this movie! Because there are funny, self-aware parts of this movie, it’s just weighted down by this awkward messaging, which goes full-throttle 30-45min into the movie.

The movie could have spent the time that was spent preaching about political messages to flesh out the relationship between the mother and daughter. Instead, the movie barely focused on their relationship. The mother and daughter ‘bonding’ in this movie is literally the mom going on multiple long-winded and chaotic rant monologues about feminism to men, and the daughter going ‘gee i never knew that my mom was a feminist? I love her now.’

To the Barbie producers, when even my feminist friend is calling your movie ‘sexist cringe’, you gone done messed up! Fighting and ‘ism’ with an ‘ism’ is not cool. Jokes are all fun and games and fortunately many of the jokes here are good, but the serious message of this movie is ‘All men are sexist lazy pigs, and should be subservient to women’. That’s not a joke. That’s the actual ‘lesson’ at the end of the movie. Just what?

I expected the famous dolls Barbie and Ken to leave "Barbieland" and end up in the real world. There we would see comedy, where they try to adapt to the real world and see the differences between the worlds.
But that was not what we got to see. Or yes, we got to see the differences (very politically left). We were taught that in the real world men has the power, being masculine is something bad and you also heard the girl from the real world describe that "men hate women here". (In the real world)
As I understand it, the movie Barbie is aimed at children as it is PG-13 and it is about the toy Barbie that 5 year olds play with. Nevertheless, there is dirty humor and jokes with references about different people that only a 40-year-old could understand. In short, I think they miss their target audience with the humor in the film itself.
And there were various moments in the film where they did things without meaning to achieve a particular plot.
I think the positive thing about the film is how Barbieland itself looked like. Pink and happy.
Otherwise, the film is a huge disappointment for me.

A masterpiece of feminist satire that touches the soul.

"Barbie" is a skilfully constructed film that evokes a wide range of emotions: from sincere laughter to bitter tears. It immerses the viewer in a wonderful world and is a shining example of how to shoot pictures for the modern generation with a fast pace of life. The editing of the scenes will satisfy even clip-minded viewers. During the time I watched this film, I didn't have time to notice how quickly it was over.

At the centre of the story is plastic culture icon Barbie, a shining example of the versatility of female art. Gerwig skilfully reveals her as a symbol of feminism while also highlighting her outdated traits. Ken, the embodiment of patriarchal ideals, is funny yet touching in showing how patriarchy affects men, and he feels rejected in Barbieland but accepted in the real world.

The script for this film is a real find. Full of hilarious moments and lines. Personally, I experienced a huge range of emotions that I haven't felt in a long time, from genuine laughter to tears. Credit to the actors, and in particular Ryan Gosling, who can safely be called the star of this film. His skilful performance as Ken not only makes you laugh, but also makes you empathise with the hero. Margot Robbie is just perfect for the role of Barbie, and her heartfelt embodiment of an existential crisis is riveting to watch. She is the most perfect choice of actress, it's impossible to imagine anyone else in the role. As noted in the film, she plays the stereotypical Barbie, which is entirely appropriate, but she also exudes the undying, exaggerated optimism necessary for this candy-coated world. Her acting is immensely enjoyable.

It really struck me that the worst thing the Kens had to go through in Barbieland was being ignored and not given much importance, whereas as soon as 'Barbie' entered the real world, she was hounded and objectified.

Particular attention should be paid to the idea of the film, of embedding an existential crisis in the image of the perfect doll. The metaphors conveying the cracks in Barbieland's facade resonate in the soul and make us think about our reality, where ideals are not always as perfect as they seem.

The visual splendour of "Barbie" is simply mesmerising. The costumes of each character, especially Barbie and Ken, are so exquisitely and meticulously made that they deserve a separate admiration. The sets, which embody the world of Barbieland, immerse the audience in a unique universe where every detail is created with love and passion.

In my opinion, this film was an intelligence test. I have seen many comments as people describe that the film attacks men. It really isn't. One question I would like to ask the people who are so vehemently heckling this film is, "Are we sure we've seen the same film?"

The soundtrack is the true cherry on the cake. The richness and variety of songs from talented performers add to the emotional intensity of the film. The beautifully chosen songs underscore the mood of the scenes, making the film even more captivating. The additional participation of some A-singers such as Lady Gaga with her unreleased song "Fashion", Taylor Swift with her "Wildest Dreams" and Lana Del Rey also with her unreleased song "Queen of Disaster" would have been another great plus for the film.

After such an intriguing ending to the film, I really want to see a sequel as soon as possible.

9 out of 10

"Barbie" is a film that is worth seeing and definitely worth discussing after watching. This film will surprise and make you think, and I highly recommend it to all connoisseurs of quality cinema. I don't know why I want to watch this film again. And again. And again. That's how much I enjoyed it.

Each sentence doesn't make any sense or political reference, but the director and all cast are women except Ryan Gosling!!! Where is the logic behind those points!!! What could go wrong? The same dialogs, characters, signs, haters, Acrivistis, political speech disguised as joke, and I could go on and on just to resume in i identity politics, the most crude feminism with men being low life stupids or worse, just for a start. If you could understand the minimum, I”ll tell you: it’ll only gets worse and worse until the end of the movie.

Dishonest advertising for a man-hating propaganda piece, when will these types of movies get boring for the wokeists? Then, after all their attacks on men and masculinity, they wonder why young men are inspired by a figure like Andrew Tate (hint: maybe you're the problem). I looked for Lizzo but if she's in it I missed it. I don't like to sh*t on people's hard work, so let me counter the fact of this movie with a proposition for a similar future project: make a Barbie movie that is like _Drunk History_, but narrated by sober children. You get normal kids who play with Barbies and have them tell you what their Barbies are doing. Usually it will be a string of surprises, reenactments of stories they saw elsewhere.. but some of these will be novel, coherent stories. Take those and illustrate them with the same lavish detail as in the *Barbie* movie I just watched. I think that would save everything I love about this movie and trim out everything else. Expand

Had some funny moments, but that's about it, some of the stuff make your eyes to roll out of your skull.

No recomendada
