The disaster wiped out the financial sector and toppled high-rise buildings over a wide area, even as far as the main functions of the capital. This resulted in the loss of a staggering 158,000 lives.

At the dawn of the 21st century... Conglomerate PROBE-NEXUS, commonly known as Probe, begins reconstruction efforts in the eastern area of said country. Probe relocates its own base of operations to the ruined sector and builds a massive city run by the corporation. Lavished with colossal capital and cutting-edge technology, the modern-day Babylon is made up of skyscrapers that put the old high-rises to shame, the biggest shopping mall in the world, and recreational facilities one might mistake for a theme park.

This was the dazzling birth of a symbol for the new century. It became the most essential place on the planet and was christened Zone Prime.

The Rumble Fish is a 2D fighting game. The arcade version was developed in 2004. The arcade version of The Rumble Fish 2 came out in 2005, introducing new game mechanics and characters. Rumble Fish 2 is a great game for people like me who enjoy solid fighting games. It won’t stick with most players beyond initial contact though. It feels like it borrows more than it innovates and in a sea of familiar brawlers that is rough. I enjoyed my time, but will likely forget it exists in a month or two. Then one day I will be browsing my game library and think to myself “hey, that was a pretty cool game!”

The Rumble Fish 2 is a competent fighting game that is enjoyable in the single player or local Vs modes, yet crippled by a very poor netcode that makes online matches a bit of a lucky dip.

The Rumble Fish 2 was a very good fighting game back in 2005, but today we expect much more from such games. And while the gameplay is still fun, the content is bare-boned.

Fighting game nerds will no doubt be all over this in a heartbeat, but everyone else might wonder what all the fuss is about. Nonetheless, it's nice to have The Rumble Fish 2 out of the arcades and ported to modern consoles, even if it might be one to file away as 'strange forgotten curio' that should have perhaps stayed in the arcade.

It is a very technical game, here it is not worth hitting buttons like crazy (it can help you win a round or a fight between friends but the AI will put you to the test and even overcome it). The anime design is maintained. Includes the animated intro from the arcade and PS2 version, but as an extra. The gallery of designs per character is very good (you have to unlock each one)

The bad: The characters were not redrawn they use the elongated/stretched sprites so that blur is noticeable in portrait images and in zooms during fights. Its soundtrack is not complete, only rhythmic themes were left, the vocal themes are not there

The Meh!: the least you will see are fish. It is a game that implies commitment to get into playing it, understand it and try to master its mechanics... or it can drive you away after seeing how the AI turns the fights over and over again
