It’s a dangerous world, and in order to stay alive Reid must take full advantage of the dead! DEADCRAFT is the newest deadly and daring game from Marvelous’ First Studio, creators of DAEMON X MACHINA. As if a hail of meteors reducing earth to a barren wasteland wasn’t bad enough, the devastation released a mysterious virus that resurrected the dead. Ravaged by fire from the sky and the dead below, only a fraction of the human population remains, largely clustered into small outposts where power-hungry opportunists capitalize on the chaos. A rare survivor of exposure to the virus, part-zombie Reid is captured by the twisted Nebron, leader of the Ark. After escaping from the torture table into the surrounding wasteland, Reid is determined to return to the city and exact some apocalyptic justice. Expand

I thoroughly enjoyed Deadcraft and if it didn’t have some of the niggles I would have recommended it much higher. The crafting system is simple to learn and growing your own zombie pals is delightfully morbid fun. But as I was so hooked on upgrading and crafting I didn’t realise it made the game too easy. I also just wish there was more to the story as I enjoyed the game and ended up feeling more could have been added.

There is much more content to DEADCRAFT than its budget price would indicate, but a lot of content doesn’t always mean enjoyable content sadly. I loved the idea of the half zombie hero concept. I love crafting and survival games, but the lack of variety in the missions was a pretty big deterrent for me to continue on long term. That, along with the odd combat style and top-down gameplay didn’t make this a game I loved, and after about 10 hours I really was kind of bored with it. I wanted to love it more, it just wasn’t for me. If you like fetch quests and crafting, maybe you’ll love this. If you’re looking for something with a compelling story and a real survival action RPG, this probably isn’t what you want.

Deadcraft is a standard survival game with zombies and a budget price tag. If the idea interests you, then you'll probably get a good amount of fun out of the game, but if you're on the fence, it doesn't do anything to reel you in. If you really want a new survival game to sink your teeth into, Deadcraft might scratch that itch until a bigger title comes along, but if you're new to the genre, there are plenty of alternatives.

Deadcraft was at first quite enticing with its half-human/half-zombie hero concept. In the end, the title’s few good ideas are devilishly marred by missions devoid of any interest. After only ten hours or so, the game becomes wearying and takes precedence over the pleasure of progression. If making deliveries here and there is your thing, all your dreams will come true. On the other hand, if you are looking for a survival action RPG with advanced gameplay and a compelling storyline, chances are you will be gutted. Considering how good the hybrid hero principle looked on paper, this is truly frustrating. With a better script and less boring quests, this could have resulted in something a little more decent. We cannot advise you enough to check out the available demo to make up your own mind.

Amazing and addictive action RPG/crafting game made for people that hate crafting games like me. Crafting is actually easy and fun.
