Rating the game a 10 to balance out the 0's. In reality this game is probably a 7/10, but what do you expect from a $20 game? It's hard, it's fun, it's challenging and it looks pretty good.

It's a really fun game.....it's not perfect. It is obvious it was made by the creator of Mega Man, and the plays similar enough you can tell it's a spiritual successor. It's not Mega Man 2, but it's far from the stink pile that was Mega Man X7. I'm giving it a 10, because it deserves a 7, but with all the negative reviews I feel it needs to be higher to pull up the score.

The expectations for this game were high and it it meets none of them. Honestly, I don't understand how this is being sold for $20. There are plenty of better games for the money. It just doesn't deliver on the original promise and you're better off picking up other games and supporting other developers.

At first i was unsure about this because of the mixed and negative reviews. I played the demo and enjoyed it so i thought Id take a risk and get the full game. First of all there are no problems with the frame rate, graphics or sound. It all runs so smooth and the controls are perfect. If you dont like default set up, you can change them. Megaman is one of my favourite games and Mighty no 9 is Megaman. The way the levels are set out, the bosses, the characters and yes even the controls. If like me you are a Megaman fan then please ignore the low scores and negative reviews and go buy it. The story is ok, just what you'd expect. But if you follow it closely you'll soon pick up that it kinda follows on from Megaman 6 on the NES. You'd be forgiven for assuming this could be Megaman 7 how it was intended. Like my DOOM review I'll emphisise how old skool this game is and the negative reviews have most prob come from the youth of today. Even the 'profetional' critic reviews. If you love Megaman then youll love Mighty no 9. Expand

Visually not current gen, but has the feeling of a great PS2 generation AAA title. Gameplay is well thought and unique. I feel it is a good start if they ever make another.

The game certainly isn't perfect, but it's incredibly fun. It feels like a true successor to Megaman 8 and Megaman X, simultaneously. The game plays fast, fun, and furious.

I was not a backer and I didn't get caught up in the hype. People giving it less than a seven need to see a shrink about their narcissistic, self-entitled ways.

Great game! Not a fan of the childish design but the gameplay is excellent. Wish you could buy life and energy recovery like in megaman but still its a nice game with a lot of challenge and difficulty levels.

For 20 bucks you can't complain too much about the game. Still, I'd wait for a sale.

Apparently they struggled between making it new and refreshing and not being too much of the same. It feels like leaderboards and speed runs are all this game was built on. Which is great if that's your thing. It's not mine so the game just felt like it had potential and failed on most aspects. For

For what they are doing the graphics are fine. The English Voice acting is horrible. Worth the laugh if your drunk or something. Japanese voice acting, with English subtitles is better.

I was hoping co-op would make it better. But apparently you need to do something to unlock it. I haven't found anything to keep my interest enough to want to unlock it.

I left this game feeling the director got more credit than he deserved for the greatness of Mega Man. He might want to rehire his old idea guys. As they apparently know more about what makes Mega Man great than the guy who gets all the credit.

I like it. I wish I could simply just write those 3 words and be done with it but I guess that wouldn't be much of a review.

The Art Design is simplistic, and as many will point out the larger explosions are poor. But actual enemy design is good, cartoon-esque and fitting to a mega man spiritual successor. Sound-design is very good. Until a 'human' character opens their mouth.

Sound-design is very good. Until a 'human' character opens their mouth. Ironically the scientists that built beck are more robotic than their creations. But things 'pew' as I expect from a mega man game, and when you do defeat multiple enemies, that sounds are proper.

Game design is complicated. Let me get one thing clear: You will die, a lot. and often it will not be your fault. Instant death spikes and bosses with supposedly easily dodged K-O attacks are in no short supply. But it was never enough for me to throw my control. I just got angry I didn't give up. And as Ben
'Yahtzee' Croshaw put it, "Angry gets **** down." You quickly realize your dash is over-powered and can bypass certain sections with ease, and then you realize the developers realized this as well and placed the purple insta-death spikes where you'd dash into. Reset, gnash your teeth and go through the level properly. I know I sound down on it, but if you've played Mega Man 9 and 10 you know the frustration leads to immaculate pride upon succeeding.

There is love in this game, and events can occur that you might actually miss entirely. I had previously met characters show up in the middle of the levels to assist me, I found different paths to take with boosts and health, and for the most part I've enjoyed the personality behind each boss. No Shakespearean drama here but something light-hearted and child friendly that I don't necessarily mind.

Is it the greatest game in the world? No. But I've been having fun with it and it's probably the closest we're going to get to a new Mega Man game for a while.

FYI- A game pad is mandatory if you don't want cramped fingers and rage fits.

Anyways as a megaman fan I recommend this because it's a fun game after all if you want a good platform with smooth 60fps then just buy it, it's cheap and challenging at some points.

I play mostly twitch type games, so I can tell pretty quickly if some games have sloppy controls, and I guarantee you this game has good controls! In fact the only thing I can think of is the Jump button, when you lightly touch the jump button Beck will barely jump off the floor, But when you press it longer he will max out his jump, so I have died a few cheap deaths when I lightly jumped, when I should have maxed it out, sure I got upset!! But that was my fault, I'm not some clown that will blame the game!! So its funny to me how so many people that havent even played the game are judging it based on other peoples opinions! If you like Mega_man Buy it! Its a great game, its tough so most people will not like it, I think that's what has upset so many people. At least people that have played, which apperantly not many have. Expand

Unfortunately, the game is also plagued by a pattern of difficulty spikes. It really doesn't bring the player's skill or confidence up in a natural way by challenging them with any seamlessly progressive levels.
Instead, you'll be coasting along having fun, when suddenly the level is going to take some serious determination and skill to wrap up.

Mighty No. 9 isn't exactly what anyone may have been expecting, and we've all waited long for it's arrival... But, for all the bad there's some fun to be had, the bosses are a blast to go toe to toe with and learn their patterns. This game is for anyone willing to sit down and be forgiving of bad level pacing.

This was one of the biggest cases of false advertising and lies from a Kickstarter campaign that I've seen in awhile. The game suffered a massive texture and graphics downgrade from what was originally shown to us back around 2014 with character models and backgrounds looking uninspired and rushed out the door, something you would consider decent or passable back in 2008 on the 360. The voice acting is awful, the voice actors must have read the line once and called it a day because I really don't see any other way this could be considered acceptable. The gameplay is boring with an exciting "hold X to kill everything" sort of gameplay, and is finished being mutilated and beaten with a God-awful feature where you have to dash forward into enemies to "absorb" them and finish them off. Being related to Mega-Man, you would expect some excellent boss fights like the classic games, but the only thing you will find in the boss fights here is rinse and repeat "hold the X button while facing the enemy to shoot at them, dash at them when their health bar turns purple, then do it again until you win." The saddest thing about this game is how it had $4M dollars to work with and it still turned into a piece of mediocre garbage. There have been tons of Indie games with half or even less of a budget that have come on to become commercial successes, this game has no excuse to be in the state that it is, and anyone giving this game 8,9,10s are most likely people who gave money to this massive lie and can't admit they have buyers remorse for a terrible game. Do not waste $30 on this game when there are numerous other titles out at the moment that are ACTUAL 8,9,10s that are far more deserving of a $30-$60 price range, if you really want to experience this travesty for yourself, rent the game or wait for it to hit the garbage bin in GameStop or Target for $5. This game does a couple of things very wrong:

    - It makes you wait after you die because of what seems to be loading times. After a couple of deaths this means it's Home Button > Start > Quit for this game. I don't mind dying over and over because I suck at a level, but to be tortured like that with something that should not be there - what is it loading anyway? It's a platformer! What terabytes of background and enemy data does it need?? The creators should've looked at player death in the NES and even SNES Megamans and set that downtime as the maximum acceptable time of blackscreen/loadscreen.
    - Artistically speaking, it's childish Unity style garbage. This point is a matter of taste I guess, but we have come to expect certain things from a Megaman game, even if it's its spiritual successor.

Maybe this game will be heavily favored by Americans who like to watch baseball or American football, because those events follows a similar structure: start-STOP start-STOP start-STOP and wait... wait... wait...
To each their own I guess.

Unnecessary loading times are punished heavily by me, almost as much as the dreaded 30 fps monster to otherwise good games: -5 modifier. Besides the issues, there is a functional and fun game experience to be had: a solid 8 for its platforming elements and fun scenery. Thus the end score is a 3. Take heed, devs and QA. These are the things that truly matter.

Some of the powers were useful instead of 1 or none throughout the game so don't believe the myth that only 3 were useful because there was so many more, weapon energy has recovery and isn't hard to lose to encourage actually using it. Enemies are decently varied and entertaining to go up against, spawning directly on top of MN9 was not. Ducking is automatic in hazardous areas, except one? A mixed bag, but absolutely leaning on positive!

Mighty No. 9 fails to fill the shiny blue, metallic, oversized boots of its predecessor. The game manages to capture the essentials of the previous titles without capturing the essence.
