    I'll be honest, I wasn't exactly sure how I was gonna properly dissect this collection. When I first got my Xbox One back in 2015, it came with a download code for this collection and, having not played the "Halo" games at the time, I was admittedly pretty excited to see what I had been missing. And while the collection didn't turn me into the biggest, most hardcore "Halo" fan on the planet, I do very much enjoy the series based on what I've played. But the collection itself is a bit hard for me to dissect: as great as it's been getting to experience what I've been missing and play the campaigns of these four great games, I feel like the excitement for the collection itself was bogged down by the hideous, bug-riddled launch and the fact that there still seems to be some problems with it. Bearing that in mind, would I still recommend "Halo: The Master Chief Collection?" Well, yeah, I would!
    For the sheer fact that this collection bundles four great to excellent titles, "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" is already an enticing product. Adding the fact that the "Halo 2" featured on this collection is an improved "Anniversary" edition of the game, and that only adds to the excitement. Each game still plays extremely well and hold up excellently on the Xbox One, and being able to play them all at a smooth 60 FPS with improved visuals just makes them that much nicer. The collection is also loaded to the brim with content, and with the fact that you'll be able to add "Halo 3: ODST" and "Halo Reach" to the collection as well just adds even more to what's an already gigantic package.
    On the downside, though, I don't know if I can say in good conscience that the collection is absolute perfection given that the game still appear to have several bugs and glitches rearing their ugly head every once in a while, and while I appreciate that 343's continued to support and improve the collection, it feels a bit confusing that they've been supporting it this long and it still has issues. Also, I'm still a bit unsure of whether I feel the collection does enough for players who already own the "Halo" games. Yes, it has "Halo 2 Anniversary" exclusive to it, but I feel like it doesn't quite scream "essential" unless you never experienced the series before this (like I did).
    Even so, flaws and all, "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" is a massive collection of some pretty great games, and it's definitely impressive to see how far it's come since the ugly launch back in 2014. Sure, there's still some issues, and it may not be the best for people that have already played the hell out of the games back in the day, but if you're looking to get into the "Halo" series, there's no better place to start than right here.

    This game was the first remastered game in 8th generation and that's why it comes with some negative points. 343i did best on remastering Halo 1 and 2 and great job on 1080p resolution for Halo 3 and 4. There's not any better remastered game yet in 8th generation witch comes with great graphic developments and a pack of multi and single content.     I have no interest in the PvP suite, so my experience from the get go was flawless. Halo Remaster, Halo 2 remastered (absolutely beautiful), Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST and Halo 4 all in 4k 60fps. Beautiful. All with online co-op.

    The best first person shooters of 6th and 7th gen all in one package. Love it.

    After the patches and everything, my rating has changed for a 1 to a 9. I'm going to give this a 10 to try and bring it up though it'll probably be inevitably staying in the mixed area rather than in generally favorable. i think that this game has simply been improved. While this game may have taken nearly 4 years to be fixed, this is now a system seller and should be bought by any HaloAfter the patches and everything, my rating has changed for a 1 to a 9. I'm going to give this a 10 to try and bring it up though it'll probably be inevitably staying in the mixed area rather than in generally favorable. i think that this game has simply been improved. While this game may have taken nearly 4 years to be fixed, this is now a system seller and should be bought by any Halo fan that has enjoyed past Halo games. While H5: Guardians was trash, this game was not. Also, this game is $30 permanently, so for $30(Plus $5 if you buy H3: ODST, which is worth it), you get hundreds of hours of playtime and lots of achievements.     What was supposed to be a must have title and system seller for the Xbox One ended up as a complete embarrassment for Microsoft Studios. With a ton of content, the new gorgeous Halo 2 remaster and excellent gameplay Microsoft had an incredible game that should have been an easy win for Xbox, however the game was ruined by awful servers which Microsoft took years to fix, years too late.     Even after years of patches, this remastering is still buggy and awful. Tons of glitches through out the entire saga. Many crashes also occurred. This is by far one of the worst remasters I have ever played.

    Halo 2A: vamos ao destaque dessa coleção,Halo 2 traz não apenas os gráficos refeitos majestosamente,mas sim todas as Cutscenes refeitas do Zero,são incríveis,até hoje nunca vi nada igual,talvez seja superada em uma continuação,pois nada bate de frente com a blur-studios e 343I nesse quesito.

    Possui um robusto Modo multiplayer com mapas originais de Halo Ce,Halo 2,Halo 3 e Halo 4 modos como CTF,Big Team,Slayer,infection,além do modo Forja,que da conteúdo infinito,dependendo apenas da comunidade FIEL de jogadores,criando modos de jogos totalmente diferentes e que fogem da caixa,trazendo variedade das zonas de guerra presentes no jogo padrão.
    Halo 3 e Halo 4 sofreram apenas algumas mudanças nos filtros e claro os 60FPS.
    o aniversariante da vez é Halo 2,então deixe o mérito e atenção para ele como melhor opção de gráficos,Performance pessoalmente minha campanha e gameplay favorita da saga.
    Mas agora vamos aos pontos negativos,nem tudo é um mar de rosas,o game apresenta muitos bugs,(Ou pelo menos apresentava)principalmente para quem jogou perto do lançamento,a maioria foram corrigidos,sim,mas o estrago já foi feito,para quem sofreu com tantos problemas no lançamento teve um grande presente da 343i,Uma cópia de Halo 3 ODST na sua master chief collection,com direito a conquistas e tudo,e atualmente esta disponível na loja por um preço muito acessível,R$10.
    Se valeu a pena pra quem teve tantos problemas eu não sei,esse porte deixou a desejar em muito,é o jogo que mais sente-se velho da coleção,e o ""Pior"" Halo,Mas vale a pena para aqueles que sempre se perguntaram como os humanos descobriram a "ARK".
    A coleção definitivamente vale a pena,tanto para fans de longa data que querem novas experiencias em Halo 2A,ou reviver a saga lendária do MC em 1080P 60FPS(4k 60 Para os donos do MONSTRO)Tanto para quem Nunca jogou Halo na vida e quer entender e vivenciar o Maior lore da cultura de video games.

I think Bungie's Halo saga really speaks for its self in terms of greatness being the reason why many got an Xbox in the first place. At its standing price it is about $30 which a steal for Halo Combat Evolved remastered, Halo 2 remastered and Halo 3 remastered.     You can describe this one with tree words: ultra-value-package. You get 4 games (the first two even remastered) and a bunch of extra content. I bought it mainly for the first two games and I got a boner. They completely remade the graphics from the first halo.     The Master Chief Collection....what can I say? This is an obvious 10/10 if you are a Halo fan. 4 legendary games in 1 disc, all 4 campaigns and being able to play matchmaking for all the 4 Halo games now that they fixed the matchmaking. Halo 2 remastered with amazing graphics and BEAUTIFUL cut scenes! If you are a fan of the Halo franchise this is a must own. The Master Chief Collection isThe Master Chief Collection....what can I say? This is an obvious 10/10 if you are a Halo fan. 4 legendary games in 1 disc, all 4 campaigns and being able to play matchmaking for all the 4 Halo games now that they fixed the matchmaking. What can I say to Contribute to this Discussion; I think the devs should have amended some weak points in the gameplay, namely the Checkpoint system. Since the beginning of Halo people have taken issue with the unreliable and Downright Punishing nature of the Checkpoint system. This___Alright, let's be real here. Halo is OBVSLY a Very Good Game, BUT It Comes With Some Very Real Flaws. What can I say to Contribute to this Discussion; I think the devs should have amended some weak points in the gameplay, namely the Checkpoint system. Since the beginning of Halo people have taken issue with the unreliable and Downright Punishing nature of the Checkpoint system. This could easily have been amended, and here's why I think They Really Should Have Done So;
    ___I lost 30 minutes of Active gameplay over a HUGE territory on Halo 1 because the devs decided NOT to amend (or perhaps it's a bug) a shortage of checkpoints, which has always been a HUGE Complaint of the gaming community. As an adult who Scarcely has time to invest in enjoying games, a game that Throws away a Half an Hour of My Time is HIGHLY Offensive to me. And I think the devs should have considered this as they polished this game. They must know that their core audience, which was in High School when these games came out, is now primarily made of Adults.. Adults, like them, that don't have the unfortunate privilege of disposing of hours of their time.
    ___Additionally, I can only assume the devs left the same programming of enemies (I feel I should title them "monsters," as though we were playing an RPG..) in Halo 3 having "resistances" to certain weapons. I only played this game for the first time two years ago. I was Confused and Dismayed as some enemies simply Would Not Die when being shot with LOADS of ammunition from a certain class of weapons..!!? It was the first of the Halo series in which I did not attempt and complete Legendary mode because I found it to be so Amazingly Aggravating.
    ___It's a series of "Good" games, with flaws, and very good multiplayer. It could have been improved upon and fixed, as I feel it needed to be. I know there must be countless smashed controllers resting, finally, peacefully in the mass graves of the dumps across the land that silently testify the same.    … Expand

    Halo: TMCC is basically the best bits of Halo on the Xbox One. Don't expect cutting-edge graphics or modern-gen mod cons but if Halo is your thing, this is your game. I enjoyed the Halo 2 remaster and on its own for a reasonable price I'd have given it a 9. However the rest of the package is overpriced especially as the games are available for the Xbox 360 very cheaply. However if you'veHalo: TMCC is basically the best bits of Halo on the Xbox One.     Good value for money but unless your a Halo fan there is nothing really new here to bring in any new players. Halo has always been very repetitive and interest can be lost fast. Worth a look if you have people to play it with.

    The games are great, do not have to argue about it ... But it contains several errors that from time to time interrupt a game and freeze everything, making everything back from the beginning.

    This is a great Xbox One game, definitely doesn't deserve all the 0's the sony fanboys are giving it. Its better than all ps4 exclusives, and you can't play this game on PS4.

    Two years ago, i thought i will never own xbox. I thought i will never play halo. If i only could know... Collection of the best games in history of xbox. You must buy this if you own that console. 9/10 - only cuz launch multiplayer problems. Otherwise it would be ten.

    A great value especially for Halo fans. It feels satisfying to revisit the older Halos. I have not experienced any problems with the game here in 2016 but the loading times are rather long.

    i will talk about this game in its current state (11/9/16) and its perfect a must buy for XBOX one owners and is now dirt cheap. multiplayer is fixed very rarely any problems. only one thing that's a problem is all the updates have made it so big and could take up a lot of storage.

    I am hooked on Halo.

    As an older gamer this is how I always imagined video games to be; fast, bright, OK plot/story and lots of guns to shoot. I played all five games in three months and just might have to go back on a higher setting

    The way the game launched was terrible, and is a disgrace.

    But besides that, a great package. It let's you play every Halo game (almost), and how can one not enjoy that?

    On one hand it's a collection of the greatest console shooting game trilogy ever made... On the other hand though it's a poorly done attempt at copy and pasting old games... It's been close to 2 years now and this game has still not been properly fixed. It STILL has annoying issues that make it STILL broken. 343 only had one job... To bring back the    Wow... This is tough to review.

    But at the end of the day the campaigns work pretty good at least and there is a lot of content even though most of it is broken. Also since the game was such a embarrassment and a let down to the halo community there is hardly even a online community for the game. Like I said though...     Just 10! This compilation is perfect! It has 4 quality games including our dear master chief!
    1080p at 60fps is not a joke. That's so awesome! The soundtrack is perfect as we know it! The menu is very well done and easy to use!

    Thanks 343 industry to give us the opportunity to replay such a fantastic game

    halo 1,2 y 3 son maravillosos, halo 4 apesta, halo reach y odst pues mas o menos, los graficos excelentes, el multijugador falló desde el primer dia y tardaron al rededor de 4 meses en arreglarlo,pero por el precio actual que tiene de 20 dolares por varios juegos completos de la saga me parece muy buena compra.

    Pacote excelente, muito bem trabalhado , uma excelente quantidade de conteúdo, a opção de alternar entre a versão normal e a remaster em alguns títulos é bem interessante. Recomendado tanto para aqueles que nunca jogaram um game da franquia para aqueles que já são fá de longa data.

    Uma das sagas mais incríveis que joguei, a história é impressionante, uma das maiores ja vista em um jogo, o gameplay é legal e divertido, as vezes fica um pouco enjoativo, mas as qualidades são tantas que apagam isso. Trilha sonora é magnífica, e por ai vai. Quem tem um xbox one e nunca jogou halo esta perdendo um jogão, recomendo demais.

    A fun remaster of the previous halos, TMCC is a good time to play through the remastered and improved old halos (press left center button). The multiplayer is great too.

    Brings back all of my childhood memories with the remastered halo 2 campaign, slightly updated visuals on halo 3 and 4, ran without any troubles, and well, it had the best halo game of all time in it.

However, I was never able to experience Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, and Halo 3. I was able to play Halo 4, but only because it was on the 360. So when this was released, I got it, and I loved it.     This game is one of the very few I have purchased that I have zero regrets. The MCC has so much content on one disc and hundreds of hours of gameplay that I have to be crazy to rate this anything lower than a 10. The campaign for Halos 1-3 are absolutely amazing. The blur cinematics for H2 were jaw dropping and the ability to switch between old and new graphics was worth it alone. They also realize they screwed up in releasing the game too early and gave Halo ODST as well as other goodies to people who bought it.     This is still the best Halo / Xbox One exclusive! The only thing that could possibly make this game better is the future inclusion of Halo Reach and Firefight mode for both Halo Reach and Halo 3 ODST. This is a must buy and should be in your collection.

    A fantastic remaster by 343i, exactly what the gamers want! There's so much great value in this collection even if you've played all of the games before. I've finished all the Halo games multiple times as they have come out over the years and it's great to have them all in one collection.

The only thing that's keeping me from giving this game a 10 is the fact of the extra pay-to-play DLC whichI would've really liked for it to be included.    … Expand

    It is a great game, I started playing it must be three months ago so I don't saw all the multiplayer problems the people said it has, but anyway great game or almost 6 games including ODST and Spartan Ops, it is incredible how the remastered the old games, so I knew all the Master Chief history on one game.

    This game had an extremely rough start, but it is now in a very enjoyable state, and even after H5 drops, I will continue to play MCC for a long time. I can only hope that 343 doesn't forget about it and continues to improve it, and begins supporting community forge creations as well. H2a is BEAUTIFUL, and is honestly worth the 60$ by itself.

    Favorite video game ever! Halo is a great game better than Destiny. I think it has amazing graphics. the multiplayer is also really fun to play. The sound track is so good I would listen to it in my car when I'm older.

Now it is awesome. Its even better if you like to have four players on the couch. There are several different game types and over 100 multiplayer maps. You can play all 4 campaigns.     There is no matchmaking for coop. So you have to hunt online for gamertags to add people to your game. The netcode for this mode is abysmal, you're going to get a lot of lag and desyncing issues in online coop, it's worse than what I had playing Counter-Strike on 56k in 2000.

    The reskin of Halo 1 and 2 are nice but they're still pretty ugly games. Age always shows a lot more on 3D games and these are no exception. 60fps isn't even stable in any of the games but 4. I think this is an engine limitation more than anything but it really stands out when you're playing game with obviously low hardware demands on a modern console and you get frame dips.

    Campaigns aren't that well made. Overall this game hasn't aged well. Hit detection is wonky. Level design is dull. Maybe part of me is just worn out because I played a lot of Halo 1 and Halo 2 when they were new, and this is really just a reskin and repackaging of those bundled with 3 and 4, but nothing feels fun here. It's all "Ah yeah, I remember when games played like this, we've come so far... wait they re-released it like this?"

    Multiplayer is really weak compared to a lot of online experiences I've had since Halo as well. It revolutionized the console shooter but its heyday is long over. Not worth anyone's time.    … Expand

    They remastered Halo CE back on the previous gen and it still looks gorgeous on the current gen not to mention the sound upgrades and the improve AI makes it feel like a new game. (9/10)
    Halo 2 Anniversary was the main selling point of the MC collection and I wasn't disappointed like Halo CE it looks gorgeous, sounds brilliant and plays like a wet dream (sorry for that) it was buggy from time to time though with enemies spazing out from time to time. (8/10)
    Halo 3 also got the remastered treatment, not as much as Halo 2 as the graphics already looked good for its time but what they did was change the lighting to better bring out the colours, it was weird that the sequel looked worse than the previous instalment graphically but it doesn't bother me much, Halo 3 still remains the crown jewel of the MC collection. (10/10)
    Halo 3: ODST was a bit of a hit and miss, some people enjoyed it (like me) and some people hated it, the graphics got the same treatment as Halo 3 with improved lighting and stuff so it feels smooth and familiar, the gameplay is just plain awesome and the city looked so great in the first place but now it looks awesome. (9/10)
    Halo 4 is the bad egg in this saga because I personally hated Halo 4 due to the fact that the story is B.S and the armour looks too detailed, the armour in Halo: Reach was big and bulky and looked like it could stop a bullet while the armour in Halo 4 looks weak and pathetic. The whole SPOILER ALERT chosen by the Forerunners thing was a joke and I hated the sound of Cortana's voice by the end of it I was glad she's dead. SPOILER END and to top it off the multiplayer was AWFUL back on the 360 with killstreak rewards or 'supply drops' as they call it and the ability to choose a load-out just killed the halo feel of it and made it feel like COD, screw you 343, if it ain't broke don't fix it. And by that I mean Halo: Reach was the pinnacle of multiplayer and you decided to stick your hand in a blender and complain about how much it hurts. (6/10)

    All in all Halo MC is worth a buy and worth a play despite the monumental cock-up with the multiplayer at launch because like everything else, it gets fixed.

    But the real trophy here is Halo 2. Before the Master Chief Collection, Halo 2 was mostly inaccessible due to it being quite an old game for the original Xbox and widespread compatibility issues for the PC. Halo 2 was like watching the Special Edition of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in the late '90s: just as compelling as the first time, and somehow better. The graphics are better than Halo 4, the cutscenes are easier to watch, and all the old secrets are still in place.

    I am not a huge fan of multiplayer games. If you play Halo for the multiplayer, then for the first 6 months you may have been disappointed. The system needed more work than 343 had done before the release, and they should have waited to release. The multiplayer seems to be working now, but the wait on multiplayer is the reason for a 9 instead of a 10.

    Overall, $60 gets you 5 FPS games with over 1000 hours of play time and 50 hours of (legendary difficulty) campaign. There are few arguments against how good of a deal this is, and the games are incredible.    … Expand

    Overall, with the bug fixes, it's quite a strong collection and still a must-buy for anyone who has yet to play the Halo series. Enjoy the collection for the single-player experience.

There are just to many problems with this game to even enjoy it. Unbalanced teams, very long loading times, lags, bad Ping, favored US players and so on. The Halo 2 Anniversary is especially good, switching between the classic graphics and the updated graphics goes to show how far we have come (the only issue I'd have is the jump between Halo 2A's visual fidelity and Halo 3 was a bit stark, but that's not an issue with the game, just my opinion)

    The multiplayer experience, however, is something quite different. When it works, it is great, probably my favourite multiplayer FPS. When it doesn't work, which is at least 25% of the time in my experience in June 2015, is terrible. I can go into a playlist and have to wait 10-15 minutes for matchmaking to succeed. For any game this is bad, let alone a triple A game such as Halo.

    Before the multiple fixes were distributed, I would have given the game a 4. Now, the multiplayer is better, but still broken. Therefore I can only give the game a 7. Hopefully all these reviews will push 343i to make sure the multiplayer experience for Halo 5: Guardians is much, much better.    … Expand

    Pros: 4 GAMES..... FOUR GAMES...... you get every single map in all of the 4 games on a single CD and you can forge them all... i havent heard of any map pack DLC.... i do appreciate the storyline of every single halo up to HALO 4.... but at that point they screwed up...... i wont spoil it....
    cons: matchmaking is no longer about skill...... it is all about who is better to manipulate the lag, and who can use the Battle rifle better..... i havent been in a single game where the BR wasnt a mandatory choice...... then i will be playing and standing on my own little corner..... when i get head shot from NOWHERE.... i've saved the video and sent it to bungie and 343.... so i hope they will get on it and fix it......
    the infected isnt anything we are used to.... they removed the possibility of our creating our own epic infection maps...
    neutral: i havent actually gotten to play any of the campaigns yet, so i cant say anything about them, i didnt really use the forge system except to try to remake my favorite map on HALO 3, called "castle in the sky" infection... which failed horribly...... if they fix any of these issues in HALO 5 i will be relieved....

    halo was the game that got me in love with XBOX, and personally... the master chief collection combined with HALO 4, has made me seriously question my affection with both xbox AND halo....    … Expand

Great game, fantastic visuals, fantastic nostalgia and content. Now we watch Sony's unoriginal copy of "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection", they can't even get an original name thanks to Microsoft's awesomeness in the PC and Xbox side of things. Never the less, 343 made up for their follies and even sweetened the deal with a free release of the remastered ODST as an add on.     As someone who hadn't played the first three halos and had only played the single-player of Halo 4, I was excited when this first was announced. I bought an X-box One just to play this game and Halo 5. All of the games are great, but when put together at a relatively low price they become amazing. There is so much content to be had, it is ridiculous (in a good way). I am competitive gamer, meaning, I derive gaming pleasure from a ranked multiplayer experience. At the time I was playing from February to April, there was only    Multiplayer:

    I purchased this game in February, after I heard most of the initial release bugs were taken care of. However, with regard to the main reason I purchased this game, the multiplayer, I was severely disappointed. I am competitive gamer, meaning, I derive gaming pleasure from a ranked multiplayer experience. At the time I was playing from February to April, there was only ranked halo 2 team slayer. The ranked playlists were plagued with a plethora of issues ranging from the inability to spawn (when other players were, enabling them to get free spawn kills and take control of the map), games randomly ending, an unbalanced matchmaking system (a group of 1s and a 7 against a team of 10s and a 12), and no punishment for those who quit. These are just a few of the flaws I found. 343 kept promising patches, fixes, etc, however, it seemed like the patches never really fixed anything. Up until late April, I continued to play and rank up in halo 2 competitive slayer. However, a few weeks ago, 343 said they were resetting all ranks in halo 2 team slayer and adding another patch. So, all the time and work I put in to reach level 33 (not high, I know, but I put in a lot of time), was erased overnight. For what reason? I don't know. I continued to play, but, it seemed like the patch had fixed nothing. The multiplayer was still plagued by the same issues, and, there also seemed to be an issue with host lag (which hadn't been prominent before). As such, I lost all interest in the game. With regard to patches, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

    On a separate note, I had to re-install the game twice (bought a digital copy). Two or three times, xbox one wouldnt recognize that I owned the game. So, I had to re-install (which took a few hours). I'm not sure if this was an Xbox One issue, or a Halo Master Chief issue; regardless, it added to the unpleasant experience.

    Single Player Campaign:

    With regard to the single player, I didn't have any problems. That's the only part of the game that function properly.

    Conclusion:

    Save your money if you're in it for a competitive multiplayer experience.    … Expand

    If you are a fan of Halo, there is no doubt you'll love this game, because it is the same good old 360 games, but remastered and playable with the XONE online community. Great game, brings back good memories, it is actually very enjoyable to revisit these games on a next-gen console. Really worth the purchase.

    6 months in, still not on dedicated servers.

    For many that was a BIG SELLING point.

    For others, it was just a Betrayal. Which, coincidentally, seems to have sped up the Halo 5 respawn timer, which it clearly should have delayed the respawn of another Halo title. It's little inaccuracies like these that make me think they don't play a lot of Halo.
