Game is fairly easy even on "Very Hard" which i play. AI is pretty ez to fight - run around columns, etc.

There is a bug? with certain tech talent and vending machines which gives infinite money

Some parts of he game are very "on rails" and should have option to skip the second play-through.

Some builds are insanely overpowered (mantis blades)!!!

Lots of sex, **** prostitutes, etc

The game is quite buggy *(Updates seem to be making improvements), however the core game is really good. Were it not for the bugs I would rate it 8.5-9.5 (I have other qualms but that is true of any game). However, you cannot deny the bugs are there and annoying. That said, I still enjoy the game, so slightly above neutral seems appropriate.

Where No Man's Sky failed to deliver fundamental aspects of their game as promised, and Andromeda was buggy with content that was not very compelling or deep. This is more akin to Fallout 3 or 4, where there are many bugs, but the game is engaging, immersive, and has fantastic depth of story, characters, and universe (probably more than Fallout 4). Do I think this is an acceptable state for a game to be released in? No. But I am also not going to say we should abandon hope for it yet.

I recommend you buy this game on PC. However, if you want to buy the game on a console (or already own it) you could wait for the next generation release, or the game to have its bug fixed.

That said, if the game is still of interest and if you can be patient and navigate the bugs, Right now the game is largely playable (on Xbox One S or X), and some of the bugs will give you a laugh.

    The Pros:
Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most immersive games I have ever played. Night City is brimming with such detail that it's just pure joy to be in this world. From the towering skyscrapers and roadways that encase the streets of the city, the mountains of trash just outside the city limits, the shady alleys ways that feel like they could lead anywhere, and the diversity of each of Night City’s districts, cyberpunk’s detailed world is by far the best part of the game. This is coupled with great character interactions in the story. While the story itself is solid but didn't blow me away, the character interactions do. The characters are so interesting and show a wide range of emotions. The performances are truly great with of course the notable Keanu Reeves as Johnny SIlverhand. Even the main character V, while not the most unique protagonist, has enough emotion and character to be notable even in this RPG. Speaking of RPGs, another great thing about this game is its character progression. From the copious amounts of skills, weapons, clothes, and of course cyberware to choose from, the amount of builds for V are truly varied. And the mission design helps to make your build standout, although running and gunning may be the more basic option (more on that in con’s) it all still feels satisfying in the moment to moment gameplay.
The Cons: While cyberpunk is one of the most immersive games I have played, immersion is nothing without engamment. Because while immersion can bring you into a world, engagement is what makes that world feel alive, and this is where cyberpunk really slips up in my opinion. While missions themselves can be quite engaging, the open world itself is anything but. The main issue is NPC’s. The NPC’s in this game feel completely lifeless, reacting in the most artificial and bizarre ways. For example, in one part of the game I snuck up and killed an enemy stelathly. For some reason, everyone in the building I was in began crouching and huddling, even though they were nowhere near where I made the kill. It's things like this that make the world feel less like a city and more like an amusement park. Beyond the citizens of the cities, the gangs also feel artificial as well. You see, in the game you're a mercenary that takes jobs around the city. A lot of these jobs require you to interact with the different gangs. The issue is that no matter what you do, gangs don't respond to your actions. You can massacre an entire gang in the game and they wont do a thing. I really think this game needed a faction system or something, because without it the games world has no dynamic impact at all, making the open world of this game feel pointless. And to further this is the comically bad cops system. While in other open world games like Grand Theft Auto cops would give chase and hunt you down, in this game they don't. They just spawn out of thin air wherever you are, making the whole system disappointing. All these issues I have said take what is an detail and immersive world into a static theme park that barely reacts to the player and serves no use. Another issue is the level design. The thing is, the level design is really good, but if you go in guns blazing you completely miss out on this level design. It really only works from a stealth standpoint, making my katana wielding character get quite reptious after a while, where a stealthy character feels way more satisfying. Another issue is, of course, bugs and performance. I was playing this game on my Xbox One S, and while the game was playable for me even with frame rate drops and the bugs, I can not excuse other players' experience with this game on the base xbox one. For some people this game is unplayable at launch, and that simply can't be excused.
Conclusion: Cyberpunk 2077 is one part of the most immersive games I have ever played, with a detailed world and characters. And the other part is one of the most buggy and shallow open world games I have played. In my opinion this game should have either spent more time making the world interactive and giving it a reason to exist or ditched the open world design in favor of more intractable hub levels similar to Deus Ex, because honestly the best parts of this game where interacting with characters in these amazing levels and building my character. Everything else, the open world and NPC’s just felt lifeless and useless. In my personal experience, I would give this game a 7/10, with the possibility of an 8/10 if itn the future the developers can add to and fix this game. But also considering the near unplayable nature for some people on xbox one, I have to give this game a 6/10. This game needed way more time to be refined. I do hope though this isn't the end for cyberpunk, because the world that's here I think deserves to be expanded upon and explored more. I hope in the future with expansions and fixes this game can be refined, because the good stuff in this truly deserves to be seen.

I played cyberpunk on the xbox series s. I had a vague feeling. On the one hand, I liked the plot and the story itself, I have not played such large single-player games for a long time, I got pleasure from the passage of this story, but on the other hand, as soon as I moved away from the story missions, I discovered a huge number of bugs, starting from non-loading textures, ending with flying into space from impact on an invisible object. Even a year after the release, there are many technical problems. It also seemed to me that the plot is quite short and after the passage of the main plot, you can note that the world is quite boring and there is practically nothing to do in it, but there are all sorts of robbers who can desente, there are orders from fixers, but this is a drop in the ocean, this is not enough for that to get the game world real. Also worth touching on the player's choice of actions and the consequences of these actions, CDPR made a great emphasis on the non-lability and consequences of the player's choice, but all this turned out to be a big deception, which is very sad for me. In fact, there is a normal choice only at the beginning, in the mission with "Malstrom" in which the developers demonstrated various ways of passing this mission, unfortunately there are no more such missions, the choice that players give to the players does not affect anything, and even the ending .... how to say, get out in the finals on your own (those who have passed the game will understand, the roof, Johnny, you understand), which completely devalues the player's choice and creates a bad impression of the game.
In the end, I can say that the best thing in the game is the plot, everything else is done somehow, why did they lie to the players talking about non-existent mechanics, why did they stir up interest in a frankly unprepared game? I'm disappointed, if you still want to go through cyberpunk, then wait at least another six months, or better a year, maybe then they will already fix this piece of code.

I rarely felt like I was in a role-playing game, just a shooter with extra steps. The character creator was (not that it mattered) easy to make a mistake in and there is no way to correct it. It was also a far cry from what was shown in the trailer. The story was...okay, usualy only offering you two options and only rarely multiple dynamic pathways. If you like romance stories, CDPR really over sold those. The combat is often fun for a first-person shooter but nothing that stands out from what else everyone is already playing. Maybe if they fix enough of the bugs the game will be alright. Expand

So many bugs in this game, some game breaking like not being able to draw a weapon, some random deaths, I got on a bike it did nothing, I got on the bike next to it , rode for about 50 meters before it blew up and I flew to the outer edges of the badlands in what must have been a nuke exploding. Not being able to select different dialogue options and having to go with the first one, the bugs are endless much like the area of Night city, there are many things you can do but probably wont, like scanning and hacking, yeah you can do it but why when you can just run in slash evertyone with a sword and be out again in 2 minutes with another bag of cash, you might want to go the non lethal route but with a sword you say, there is an eye implant that turns all your weapons to non lethal ,not sure what magic they use here but it works, sword no longer dices enemies into pieces. lots of missions are thrown at you and trying to workout what they all are is pretty hard to the point I just used my map and went to the closist one which is not very RPG, Characters in main story are well created although Keanu Reeves still cant act, if you're the type of player that likes to grind for an item then this game will get it's hooks into you as there are hundreds of things to upgrade or buy. Graphics are not Red Dead standard or even GTA V and while its big I'm not sure it's much bigger than watchdogs legion ( I could be wrong ) but that has far more impressive graphics, sometimes it actually looks like it has last last generation roots. Cons: Boring world, boring vehicle action, boring combat, boring loot, ridiculous unforgivable bugs (even as late as 3/22/21) , Keanu’s phoned-in performance, Sopranos-themed voice for the male player character

This game’s hype was legendary. Sadly, it will go down as one the biggest failures of all time, gaming or otherwise. The bugs were annoying and completely unforgivable. It was so bad that now my strategy for all future releases of CD Project Red will be to wait at least 6 months before playing any of their games, if I don’t wait long enough to buy it at a 50% discount.

Bugs aside, I came into this experience expecting something comparable to the Witcher 3. It was not. The main character was not someone I cared about; his companions I had little empathy for. The story and side quests were not captivating. The game itself was interesting enough to keep me moderately entertained for about 10 hours. The final 20 hours were a chore, and I stopped playing for a few months after the 20 hour mark. The only thing I liked about this game were the romance options. The relationship-building via quest chain was more fleshed out than other titles.

Unfortunately they’ve lost that reputation now. Sad to say but I was genuinely looking forward to this being the highlight of 2020 for me, but hit with this cut content shell was a slap in the face. It gets a 5 for the ‘good looking’ world, story was good from what I played but will not be continuing until we get the game that was advertised. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After multiple patches and 18 months later, the game still randomly crashes my xbox one x (5+ times and counting).

I agree that the game looks good, but the atmosphere is bland. Everything is like window dressing, a background of non interactive buildings and people with nothing to say. Furthermore, the game is bloated, like Ubisoft proportions bloated. You've got 28/29 main missions, 67 side missions, 17 cyberpsycho's, 70 gigs (merc missions) and at least 80 hustles (minor skirmishes). I know people want value for money, but quantity is not the same as quality. Especially the hustles are little more than fighting criminals over and over again.

Story wise, the game doesn't go any further than: freedom is good, corporations are bad. SPOILER: Johnny Silverhand is just a gimmick, a memory on a faulty brain chip that is slowly killing you in order to take over, so Act 2 and 3 you are just looking for ways not to die. Even your best friend got killed in the first Act, like they showed in trailers before the game even released, and he was the only really likeable character. Neither Judy, nor Pan Am, nor River, Kenny or Takemura were even a bit likeable to me. You are basically just "working" for them to get either a romance option and/or some backstory. Long things short: they killed Jackie, so they could implement Keanu Reeves. I think they had to get back the money they spent on signing him and rewrote the hole "climb the merc ladder" to "destroy Adam Smasher, the guy who killed Silverhand".

Concluding, the game is perfectly mediocre, apart from the great graphics. The soundtrack fits the game, but is an acquired taste. The gameplay is okay, the inventory management is okay, the UI is okay and the map is okay. Nothing really stands out, positive or negative. In numbers it would be:

    Story: 4
    Graphics: 8
    Game play: 5
    Sound: 6

Considering the game is supposedly an RPG, Story and Gameplay are most important, hence the 5.

i am not going to start talking about the bugs. as a rpg game it was not fun playing, i could play witcher skyrim ac valhalla or any other big rpgs for hours without interruption, this game however just isnt interresting, it doesnt feel like a rpg game. it has no value and no charm at all, its plain boring. so for anyone who is much into rpgs, he should not play cyberpunk 2077 till the game gets fixed (because it has a lot of bugs etc.) . i am playing on the xbox series x, and the graphics look absolutely terrible, i was not expecting something next gen like valhalla, but i was also not expecting it to look worse than the witcher 3 which was released almost a decade ago. i was also trying to get a refund for my game, but somehow couldnt manage it, because of preorder etc... watch a few walkthrough vids before buying this game... i didnt enjoy it. this is making me rly sad to see the successor of witcher 3 suck so hard, gaming is dying with all the big companies just producing utter garbage (fallout76, cyberpunk2077, me andromeda, anthem, destiny)

Disclaimer: I have been playing this game on Xbox Series S with backwards compatibility mode. As a result, I haven't had any performance issues during my gameplay. Hence, consider this while reading this review.

Time: Currently played 25 hours with lots of side quests and a bit of story.

Graphics and Performance: To start with, graphics are terribly rendered. Compared to PC version, loads are slow, and colors are over-saturated making the game feel as if it is made by an indie studio over a limited budget. Hence, the highly saturated colors makes it feel like it is trying to hide the badly rendered textures. Human models (apart from main characters) feel like they are drawn using pastel pen and put into game without adding any shaders. Moreover, some UI choices are questionable. The start menu map is very hard to use because of its color choice. Icons are bundled into places where it makes hard to understand where they are exactly and how to go there. It would have been way better if they just used a typical 2d map. Moreover, the inventory/journal system is almost directly copied from Witcher 3 which I have found clunky.

Bugs: When it comes to the bugs, I haven't encountered any game breaking ones. This doesn't mean they aren't annoying or require you to go out of your way to finish tasks. There are numerous bugs such as NPCs walking through hard objects; random NPCs and vehicles spawning right in front of you or ON you, causing you to take damage. I have also encountered cases where the task relevant enemy NPCs teleporting in and out of the playable area very rapidly, making it a pain to finish the tasks. Moreover, I have encountered bugs where mission relevant NPCs or items not spawning at all, requiring you to leave the area and restart the game for it to be fixed. I will update my part about bugs when I play more.

Open-world gameplay: Level design is probably the best part of this game. There are so many details embedded into the world. There are vibrant side-quest stories, meaningful background chatter, lots of books/articles/magazines that you can collect which gives tons of information about the world of Cyberpunk. You can spent dozens of hours just hunting such information learning about the lore of the game. There are many elements to discover such as different clothing shops which sell different clothes; numerous cars that you can hunt by following side quests to unlock, bars/food places; weapons shops. If you are type of person that hunts lore, this game gives you plenty content.

On the other hand, the open-world random encounter (like the ones in RDR2) feel forced and boring. Unlike RDR2's random encounters, there are way too many street events that are way to similar. Such events feel like they have been just replicated across the maps so you get more opportunities to grind for level. I understand this is typical in many RPGs. However, unlike other RPGs such Cyberpunk random events feel bland by not providing enough incentive to enjoy such events like rare drops chances etc. (Even if there is such chance of drop, I am yet to encounter it.) They are just soulless grind options for you to get skill points.

One last note is the path-finding used for navigation. It seems to me that the base code for the functionality is taken from Witcher: a game whose map is mosstly flat. Unlike Witcher 3, cyberpunk has multiple floors in each building and several layers of the city. As a result, the navigation suggestions are very confusing on the map, jumping between points you have already been. Minimap line drawing are lifesavers on the other hand. If you get stuck, just followed the line on the mini-map.

Story: I haven't finished the story yet so I will include my view on it when I am done.

Side-quests: These missions are mostly fun and interesting. They all have small story lines which some of them are more interesting than the main story missions in my opinion. Game provides a ton of side quests from the beginning (starting from 5-6 hours into the story). You can just walk up to certain NPCs on the street and pick up such quests. Later, you can collect contextual information about the story line of side-quests from the environment like described above which is a nice touch.

Level progression: I have found the level and skill progression very nice. Both main quest line and side quests encourage you to level up before fully going into a single story line. Along with main quest line, side quests improve in its requirements for you to have certain skills improved for you to be able to have the mission relatively easy.

Overall: I haven't found main story characters interesting but side quests appealing. Combining this with the bugs and graphics of the game I can only give a 5/10. As I have said I will update my score after finishing the game.

I was expecting more interaction with NPCs... the majority of them are just sitting around like cardboard cut outs with no meaningful dialogue to offer. In a scene of 20 NPCs, there might be two who are actually walking. The rest are just sat there like dummies. W3 wasn’t the best when it came to combat, crafting, etc. BUT... I dearly loved the W3 because it was immersive... it sucked you in where you became lost in it’s world. CP2077 doesn’t have that, at least for me. I felt that combat was adaquate, I didn’t really have issue with it. Character creation was really nothing special, not being able to change body type seemed a bit weird to me. Dialogue felt forced... I thought it was a little jarring how quickly V buddied up with Jackie. Overall, this game is average at best. I played it on the One X and it ran much worse than expected, the frame rate dropped a good amount depending on the area and a lot of textures were blurry or muddled. A big disappointment all around. I am not a computer expert, but the game seems to run at lower than 720p more than half of the time, whilst barely maintaining 20fps. The textures only consistently load when you are in the same area for a long period of time - do not expect to see most textures load in whilst you're driving (especially at high speeds). I have failed multiple side missions because I have arrived at the objective, and the building I've been tasked with dropping a car at, or person I've been tasked with talking to simply have not loaded, instead remaining as loose shapes of colour onscreen, that are not interactable with. All whilst I sit back and think: "I'll just wait here until the textures and world load" until I realise they're never going to. I am not one to think graphics and framerate are everything in a game - Skyrim has remained one of my most played games until this day - but this game is simply unplayable at times on Xbox One/S. Maybe in February, with the announced patches, this game will be worth buying for people without the Xbox Series X/S, but at the moment, it is certainly not. Console players understandably feel very let down by CDPR, and this game has got to be one of the biggest gaming disappointments I have ever experienced. Expand

I'm not even sure where to begin. I'll start with what's great: The story and writing. Really top notch stuff here that makes you care about NPCs, even the ones you only run into for one-off side missions. If i was rating this on writing alone, it would be an easy 9 or 10... but writing and story is only one element of a successful GAME. I can read a 10/10 book, or watch a 10/10 movie -- a game must also provide interactive entertainment as well. And that's where Cyberpunk 2077 in its current state fails miserably.

First, the game is chock full of bugs. I'm sure by the time you've read this you've seen lots of articles, memes, and jokes about the various bugs. Most of them are cosmetic, but some can be gamebreaking. Characters and interactive items getting stuck under textures or the inventory system deciding not to let you change equipment. I can't go five minutes without some bug cropping up, whether its my clothes textures magically vanishing or the menu not responding.

Second, performance is a complete nightmare. Even on the Series X, framerate drops significantly. You'll be getting hit by someone and unable to react because the frame rate drops so severely that input becomes delayed. This makes elements of combat somewhere between frustrating and rage inducing. And that's assuming it doesn't crash to dashboard, which the game is guilty of doing frequently. Graphically, the game takes the title of Downgrade Champion™ from Watch_Dogs, as this game looks decidedly 2014, even on the Series X. It's nothing like what was shown during promotional material or pre-release gameplay, and it's obvious why CDPR had demanded reviewers use b-roll footage for their reviews rather than actual gameplay footage.

Third, and finally (but not the only other problem), the entire user interface/user experience is awful. These menus are some of the clunkiest I've seen this last generation. You'll spend more time fiddling with things in your inventory, backpack, skills, vault than you will exploring Night City. It's a tedious slog that becomes very reminiscent of early Mass Effect back on the X360 where more time was spent in menus breaking down weapons and gear for Omnigel and fiddling with skill points. It's difficult to feel invested in the world when I'm having to pop into a menu every few minutes and click through a bunch of other menus just to get something accomplished.

Unless you have a beefy PC to play the game on, I cannot recommend it in its current state. As much as I'd like to keep uncovering the story and meeting new people in Night City, the constant bugs, crashes, and endless menu interactions ruin it. Despite all the other prior delays, it's clear this game needed another 6+ months in the cooker. I wouldn't recommend bothering with the game until: A) you have next gen hardware, B) the next gen update (along with multiple bug fixes) is released, and C) it's on sale.

I'm giving it a four on strength of story and writing alone. The rest of the 'game' is about a 2. Where's all the big city immersion we were told we were going to see? The lengthy launch trailer talked about doing things to spend our 'ill gotten gains' on, but there are no silly side activities to do except shop and drink -- where's the equivalent of a bowling alley or dart club or karaoke bar?? Why bother with lifepaths if all they really do is add meaningless dialog choices? (Aside: how is it that The Oregon Trail, a 40 year old game, understood meaningful lifepath choices better than Cyberpunk 2077, a game built on a deep pen and paper RPG???)

The graphics are a blurry mess, the colors are washed out and the frame rate is so low that gameplay feels sluggish. Things within a few feet of you look alright, but anything past that

The graphics are a blurry mess, the colors are washed out and the frame rate is so low that gameplay feels sluggish. Things within a few feet of you look alright, but anything past that tends to become blurred and faded.

This is unfortunate as the gameplay is actually good but is held back by the aforementioned issues. I been playing a stealth build. Hacking cameras and tagging enemies can be fun. In the last mission I silently took out a gangster guarding a side entrance, snuck into the building and collected a mission item then quietly made my escape. The map is loaded with side missions like that and are generally fun to play.

Sadly the game is neither optimized for last gen or current gen consoles so I am not sure what CDPR‘S aim was here other than to let us all down at once. This is inexcusable when Rockstar was able to deliver a good and stable GTA 5 on the Xbox 360 then a couple years later release an Xbox One version. Why CDPR did not follow that template by first releasing on the XB1 followed a year or two later to the current gen hardware is a mystery to me.

This is an epic fail for CDPR that needs to be remedied ASAP! If not I see a class action lawsuit in their future. Charging a premium price for a buggy broken game while hiding these issues until post release is criminal.

I gave the game a 4 as it is barely playable and hard to enjoy as the flaws are immersion breaking.

This should have not been released in the state it’s in. I wanted to like this game so much, and there’s so much to want to like but the bugs and issues take all that away. I’m absolutely disappointed and sorely let down by Project CD Red. So many of us were excited, didn’t mind the delays knowing we would get a better game for it, but this???? This isn’t acceptable on any level, especially from them and especially after The Witcher 3 and the great work they’ve previously done. Expand

Wait and see…

I, somehow, have only encountered like three bugs in my playthrough, but it doesn't act as any kind of excuse for the game. I don't know how horribly management screwed up the timetable of working on this, but they released a game that looks and feels like an early Xbox 360 release, when in reality it should be looking like how the Series S (backwards compatibility) version looks when its running at its best.

I like the main story, but the rest of the features (that weren't removed) are like the bad radiant quests/missions from GTA: Online. Going to be until at least March, if not longer, until we'll see a passable version for what this should have been on launch.

Really cannot recommend this in the slightest for its current state, not just on console, and I'd recommend waiting until you get a chunk of free time in late Spring/early Summer.

    CP2077 has:

    No body changes
No character customisation after creation (barbershop/tattoos etc.)
    Zero vehicle customisation
Police AI (the game will litterally spawn them in near you regardless if you're in a locked room or skyscraper)
No Traffic AI - cars are on a fixed route and will not divert at all if blocked. Zero AI.
No Generic NPC interaction - they have 1 fixed line each, one animation until the player walks away and if you do something like combat every NPC in the area, in line of sight or not, will hunch down and cower and not move. Same for if you shoot a car, NPC's will not even react from inside the car, if you pull them out they will cower beside the car.
Fast travel is just a loading screen
    No gambling mini games
No side activities like mini games

On top of all those that are just standard in otehr comparible titles, this game has an absolutely horrific itemisation system. Mods for weapons that increase ADS by 0.06seconds make them almost absolutely pointless. Stats on clothing instead fo clothing mods means your character will, like mine, be wearing pink hot pants, baseball cap, kevlar vest, crop top and steel toe capped boots for stats alone.

Bugs aside the game DOES look pretty. But the core systems are absolutely flawed beyond belief.

The main story itself has horrific pacing and suffers form the same issue that Fallout 4 did. Without spoiling anything it is essentially a race against the clock, high stakes, urgent main storyline. But the pacing, which is all sense of urgency and the main draw is completely droppe dby being showered with 1000 side quests and trash.

No day 1 patch, and three days later there is still no word on any fix on this platform.
I have no expectations when it comes to graphics. When it comes to rpgs all I want is decent performance and a good story. Cyberpunk, however, makes 2008's hit GTAIV look like 2020's game of the year 12 years later.
Constant frame rate dump in any non scripted areas plague the game almost immediately, while at the same time not rendering a good chunk of textures by the time I can google 'is this normal?' I could technically be blamed for running outdated hardware on an outdated television, but I feel a game released on disc, as a finished title, should at least be playable if not a little scaled down.

This game has so much potential even in this state. If they continue working post launch I believe I can come back and update my review to reflect this. Until then, playing on PC is the only way you should be playing this game.

Every set piece and conversation feels carefully choreographed and it even feels like your decisions matter to a point as you are given branching paths to achieve an objective.

Sadly this marred by constant pop in and graphical glitches, including a character appearing to pull a gun out of their skull rather than the object they should be holding.

If graphical glitches were the worst problem you might say "this will be fixed in patches" but when Act 2 begins it becomes clear the issues with the game are far more pervasive and deeply rooted which I will outline now.

Each and every system within the game appears to be a hurried and unfinished addition to the main story, after the delightful branching ways to complete a quest in Act 1 I cannot think of a time (in my current 60 hour playthrough) where this has happened again. Please don't misunderstand you are often presented with "kill or don't kill" choices in the myriad of side missions but aside from the occasional reward difference I have yet to see any consequence from these.. on the rare occasion it is even presented as having far reaching consequences (purely in the main missions up until the point of no return) you do not actually see an impact on the world you inhabit.

This leads me onto the second point in the same vein, the "Lifepaths" that were suggested to be a defining trait for your character that would change how you interact with the world do no such thing. The lifepath gives you a different 1-2 hour intro the game and then afterwards gives you unique dialogue choices, however despite sometimes seeming like they have a meaningful impact I have not seen a single instance where they change the outcome of a mission instead simply giving some additional flavour dialogue.

I should add there are also occasions where you can refuse to do side missions, if you want to deprive yourself of already limited content.. you know rather than being provided with alternative ways to complete them.

I made the statement earlier that the "scraps" of an open world RPG were stapled to this game and so lets dive into that. I'm sure everyone has read about the wanted systems shortcomings and it definitely deserves ridicule, police do not chase you they simply spawn right behind you and start shooting should you commit a crime, but cannot even manage to chase you.. the system is entirely vestigial.

The NPC AI itself is similarly barely functional, it's not unusual to see groups suddenly crouch around you in unison should someone fire at you like they're all part of the same hive mind. This is in part because each one is not only aware of danger to themselves but also appears to be linked to your character, which is why if you are attacked every NPC in the vicinity seems to act instantaneously and often in unison.

Onto crafting and gear in general.. this one hurts as I always enjoy crafting in games. As with everything else the bones of a system are there, everything can be broken down into 5 tiers of components you can then use to craft items... for weapons and consumables this appears to be mostly in place, once you have access to iconic weapons you won't bother with crafting regular ones most likely anyway. However someone seems to have forgotten to include crafting specs for all the clothing, as a matter of fact clothing is just lacking in general. You will often find NPCs wearing items and thinking "man I should buy that!".. well you can't. From what I can tell each clothing store in the game has a pool of 4-6 crafting specs they pull from every 24 hours which is nowhere near the amount of clothes that are actually in game. Also fancy crafting yourself your own set of Legendary clothes in a style you like? Dream on, in 60 hours I've found 4 Legendary clothing specs, not even 1 for each item of clothing.

I honestly don't know what occurred with this game, every part of the first 10 hours I thoroughly enjoyed but once released into the world as soon as you do anything other than the main story it's like development stopped 25% of the way through implementing whatever system in the game world you are trying to interact with.

I would say I hope this can be fixed (which is no excuse for the state of it) but the issues are systemic rather than simply "bugs". The main story is fun and enjoyable, but it is simply not the game that has been promised throughout every interaction with the developer.

I would not recommend playing this game in its current state I would wait another month or two for them to patch up the bugs and fix up the game my opinion the game should’ve been delayed again it given more time to fix these issues before Launch. I would write the story 9 out of 10 but the gameplay was not the best and the issues get in the way of the game if you didn’t have these issues and it went all cording to plan it would’ve been one of the best releases for the company Expand

I was horrified seeing the crash videos that were going around. When I finally got my preorder, I was hesitant and to be honest underwhelmed. I played about 2 hours worth and visual glitches were quite noticeable. It felt like I was just playing the E3 demo, again very underwhelming. It didn't draw me in and the dialogue was alot... i just didn't like it. There wasn't enough casual play for me, the game didn't feel immersive. Maybe if the E3 demo wasn't the first 2 hours of the game? I ended up returning it, to be honest i think i was more excited about the cool stuff coming with the collectors edition than the game. Just last night I couldn’t complete a mission because finishing it wasn’t even a dialogue option. In any case, I would advise everyone to wait on purchasing this game until the patches start rolling out. And yes I am playing on the base Xbox One. Expand

It’s because of this fun gameplay and this great story that it’s such a shame Cyberpunk 2077 performs like it’s still in alpha.

Overall, I think there’s a lot to like when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077, which has been unfortunately marred by poor performance issues on a number of platforms, and some poor communication (along with some overpromising) on the part of the publisher. It’s clear that a lot of work went into putting this game together, and it’s unfortunate that it had to release in a state that feels a little unfinished. It’s still a game you can very much derive enjoyment from, even in its current state but your ability to overlook open-world bugs and performance issues is certainly going to factor in quite a bit.

Cyberpunk 2077 didn't meet my expectations, but also didn't disappoint me. It delivered an RPG experience like no other, delving deep into themes like control, awareness and addiction. The combat is great and the graphics are amazing, but the bugs and some under-cooked systems make it seem like the devs got lazy, and that's always a bad sign. (Played on Xbox Series X)
