    The game is extremely similar to Halo 2. Graphics are tweaked but nowhere near as good as even 360 launch titles such as COD3. I had severe problems with sound, especially dialogue which I have to turn up just to hear - a little annoying. Should not disappoint those wanting more of the same from Halo 2. All others should rent first.

Bottom line is everyone who is still playing halo 2 will buy it (I did) and so what do the reviews matter.     Halo 3 is my favorite game on the XBOX 360. Better than Gears of War. Better than BioShock. The campaign is a welcome return to form, and while the story doesn't come close to capturing the spirit of the first installment, it is equally as fun and a very satisfying conclusion to the remarkable trilogy. For this genre, Halo 3 bosts the best gameplay on the market and, of course, the Halo 3 is my favorite game on the XBOX 360. Better than Gears of War. Better than BioShock.     Graphics could be better. Single player gets a little repetitive. If you're gonna get this, get it only for the multiplayer.

    There´s no doubt ... HALO 3 is to an extremely high degree OVERRATED by the most Critics, even by the two lowest with the rating of 88 ! The MP is still very good but the very short SP (8-10 hrs.) is really disappointing. My ratings SP=60 / MP=85 / Overall = 72

    The online gameplay was amazing but lets get serious, the ending was horrible and disappointing I don't understand how its getting awesome ratings.     Mediocre game with recycled concepts and storyline - the hype ruined this game for me long before I played it. Tried to suppress the hype machine (myself being a part of it) ..unfortunately, this is simply another Halo shooter that did not meet expectations.

With some decent graphics, new weapon additions and relatively shallow story line, the game isn't living up to these reviews.     I've been following this game from the begining. this is a fantastic game. yes, its mainly focused on multiplayer because in the long term that whats going to keep their fan base up. yeah its gonna piss off the people who do it mainly for the story line but it makes it up wth its incredible multiplayer.

    A very good game. single player kicks the crap out of Halo 2 (4 player co-op is amazing, and the Campaign scoring is very cool), and the multiplayer is astounding, especially with the new Forge and Saved Films.     WHAT A BUST! SAVE YOUR MONEY!I figured with Halo 2 being somewhat boring in single player mode and with new technology that Halo 3 would have the textiles or graphics that it would make the game seem more real but instead I feel like I'm playing my old x-box again. SAVE YOUR MONEY! Go BUY Gears of War. That's worth your while. HALO YOUR TIME IS DONE!

    What a disappointment. This game was a dinosaur before it was even released. But i think the bigger disappointment is the sheer lack of credibility so many of these reviews are truly showing by giving it so many perfect scores. this game had me yawning within 10 minutes, and thinking i was still getting over Al Gore losing the election.     Bungie can do no wrong! this game is just too damn awesome! Tha multiplayer is awesome & Bungie incorporated gamers mods from Halo 2 into 3, now that is too cool. Tha sad part is that the trilogy is over :( please please make Halo 4, 5 & 6!!! Halo 3 is tha Greatest Game of all time. Graphics dont quite match up to Gears of War but gameplay beats EVERYTHING!

    After last night, playing it for 5 hours non stop, I can easily see how the improvements have made this game better. This game really takes off on the 360 and you can see how Bungie's vision of Halo2 was stunted due to the smaller environments. I like to think that Halo2 was originally meant to be the final, but the 360 gave Bungie the hardware to make a better version of Halo 2.     Well i am half way through the campaign and last night while playing i sat there and thought its good but not that good.... the multiplayer is pretty nice i like the upgrades they did on it compared to halo 2. Its close to the same game with twists that i think were needed esp for online. but good job overall microsoft.

    Based on the games multiplayer, this game deserves a nine. I don't play it myself because its not my cup of tea, but with the most robust and feature laden online modes I can see why many people do.

    My expectations were fairly high, but Halo 3 blew me away. Amazing multiplayer, great creative opprotunities, and a brilliant campaign mode add up to what every 360 owner should own: Halo 3.

    It's a very solid game. There aren't many things to complain about. But It doesn't deserve a perfect score. Bioshock is still the best game on the 360. Halo 3 is number 2 in my book.

    I'm only on the second level and I have to say I'm underwhelmed. Far from looking amazing the graphics just don't impress. The interiors are much worse than the exteriors, the low resolution textures on the doors are particularly bad. The game these areas most remind me of are Fear with added backtracking. The Brute Alien weapons are things similar to nail guns and grenade launchers and are much more satisfying to use than the old Alien weapons (still in the game) which shot glowing stuff (not lasers, light travels at the speed of, well light and you would only see it reflecting off what ever you are shooting.). I've had a quick look at Forge basically you can mess around with game parameters and add objects to the level BFD. I buy a lot of games, and maybe finish half of them, all the extras packed in to this game don't really matter to me, I'm much more interested in the core game. The core game here is solid but and in the upper quartile of games on the system, but not worthy of being a flagship title.… Expand

    Awesome. There are video games, and then there's Halo. For millions of people around the world, the science fiction FPS is the reason they play games. It's the reason they bought an Xbox. It's the reason they signed up to Xbox Live. Master Chief is their hero, a modern day icon for a modern day generation.

    Too focused on multiplayer.. Graphics look like Halo 2.5.. sound problems.. NPC's gets stuck and AI bugs.. Boring singleplayer, cannot compare to Halo 2. Biggest disappointment of my life..Getting rid of my 360 now.

    I am an AVID Halo fan and was waiting for Halo 3 to come out to buy an Xbox 360. I played it on my friends 360 and I must say, WTF guys. Are people SCARED to give this game a bad review. Its seriously the same game it was since Halo 1. The graphics are shoddy, the gameplay is the same. The single player is still bland and the story is still terrible. The fun in multiplayer is still there, I am an AVID Halo fan and was waiting for Halo 3 to come out to buy an Xbox 360. I played it on my friends 360 and I must say, WTF guys.     I loved Halo. the storyline and gameplay was awsome. Halo 2 did not quited draw me in like the first one but it was ok. Now I'm half way through Halo 3 and I'm like where is the story. gameplay is ok but dated. It was a marquee game on the xbox platform but 6 years lated it seems tired. I'm one who is sorely disappointed.

    Honestly, I've only gone through the first couple boards but I have to say holy cow it's awesome. I expected better graphics but, man... it's just incredible. And the game play and creativity that I have experienced has met my expectations. Greatest. Game. Ever.

    Not too much new here! Same game, same enemies. Some of the weapons have changed and the graphics are a little prettier-but not enough to warrant me spending 70$. I like it but don't love-it's not Bioshock!

    I got this game last night, and played it until class today at 1:00. The campaign is excellent, leaps and bounds ahead of H1 or H2. The new weapons are a great addition, and the assault rifle isn't worthless anymore. The hammer might just be my favorite weapon of any game I've ever played.

    Ok, it get's an 8 because of content alone, voice acting/sound/story/originality/character design/gameplay..all get a 6.5. It's a really good 10 year old PC shooter. I can't believe this is going to get a better score than Half Life 2.

    Gamer 2.0 makes the most rediculous statements ever. They gave audio an 8! That's insane, even the beta had amazing audio, some of the best I've ever heard. Not that I need to say this, but buy this game. Its not an 88 like these "respectable" sites such as gamer 2.0 and dailygame say. Honestly I've never even heard of them before this mockery.

    I was really looking forward to a game that would break the norm. But all it is really is a Halo 2.5. It looks very similar to Halo 2 and plays very similar to it as well. The polygons are present on he heads of every model of the game, and it really shows a lack of polish.

    Graphics are amazing, not perfect merely because of the saved films feature which means that every aspect of the game must be rendered at all times. Weapons are more balanced, and the pasky auto-aim feature is gone. Multiplayer is fantastic now - can't wait to play the campaign! Finish the Fight!

    I have a PS3, Wii and 360, but this game has just demonstarted to me why 360 is so far ahead in what it has to offer. I'll be selling my PS3 before Xmas and I'm sure my Wii will see some action again this Xmas on Wii Sports before it goes back in the cupboard. Halo 3 is the best game ever made without a shadow of a doubt. Other problems are people not liking the end, the epic finish wraps up all of the ends if you have a brain to comprehend the result. The multiplayer is one of the best in the world and will keep me playing forever, (I still LAN Halo:CE).     I can't rate this game any less than 10 due to the amount of fun that is possible to have with this game. You get the regular single player and multiplayer games and you also get the forge, the innovative replay and saved films feature and everything else that comes along with that.     I picked up an early release, and this game ROCKS! The campaign is what every HALO fan grew to love in HALO:CE, and the Multiplayer is exactly what we know and love in H2. Forge is the new hotness, with unbelievable customization capabilities and endless configurations. Plain and simple, this game is the best that i've played for the 360, and I'm sure, come 3 or 4 am onI picked up an early release, and this game ROCKS!     I didn't like Halo 1 or 2, but decided to give 3rd part a chance, and what a ride it was. Gameplay is pure genius, AI is awesome and levels are entertaining. Gfx isn't bioshock-like but it holds to it's own (HDR and water effects are really nice). I didn't try multiplayer yet, but this game is worth buying for single player mode alone.

    I just wanna say I have friend who works at EB so I got a copy early. I beat the game the story was epic and left a tear in your eye in the end. The grahics are amazeing Master Chief's amour has never shinned so beatafuly in the sun. As usaul the gameplay delivers. Brutes are a good challange esapacily on Legendary duffucty.     I managed to get a hold of an early copy via some friends and I've gotta say, Bungie lived up to the hype. I was dreading it, I figured they were building it up so much that it couldn't be as good as it looked. Fortunately, I was no disappointed, if you have a Xbox 360, buy this game.

There's so much better available on the 360 that i can't fathom why such an outdated fps (both graphicly and gameplay-wise) got my attention in the first place. The hype train makes you think it's more than it is.     I have been playing this solo and the graphics are amost as good as Gears. on the otherhand the ingame cutscenes are almost identical in quality. Master C Is as detailed as ever and the lighting in the jungle is top notch. A definate must play for Veterans of the series!

    However, I would have considered buying Halos 1 and 2 if... 1. It was made for a Nintendo console. Microsoft isn't the only game console maker in the world, nor is it the best. 2.     2. It wasn't so bloody. Blood adds realism, but it's sickening to look at. Especially if you're playing Gears of War, which is more like some twisted version of Disturbia times 10.
    3. The makers at least made an effort to make a good PC version. Even then I wouldn't buy it because it's still too bloody.

    In conclusion, Halo 3 is probably the most hyped game in history. Ocarina of Time is porbably much more fun, and it's something people can play without being reminded of GTA. Stop believing the hype, you Microsoft fanboys.    … Expand

    Not impressed with Game played was expecting more from halo3. Even Warhawk seems more funner than halo.
    The reason I gave a 1 because I think halo3 is overrated, originally I would give a "7" if Fanboys don't always give a "10" then i would have give a legitimate vote.

    i played the beta and it was great. Alot has changed like the health and the screen and ect. halo one and two was amazing and so was the beta so i dont see y this wont, i am just looking forward to get this game when it comes out:D

Help us out here! Thats pretty pathetic. The maps were OK.Nothing to be excited about though. Same old choppy gameplay. Hopefully when the actual game comes out it'll be alot better.     It's the addition of the Forge level editor and the saved films that give the game an even longer set of legs, legs that will probably keep you running at full speed until Bungie figures out where, exactly, to go from here.

    Halo 3 is the best Xbox 360 game to date. The single-player campaign and storyline are both very strong, but it's Forge and the Saved Films features that will likely go down in history as Bungie's crowning achievements. They've basically taken everything great about the series and improved upon it in every way, then added some amazing new features that we'll be using for years to come.
