    The reviews posted here, there and everywhere else are exactly the same. Fanboys/girls(they exist) will hold this game above everything they cherish while the haters hate. The only issue is that the haters take it to an extreme. This game is anything but a zero and you would have to have some pretty high expectations to rate this game a zero.     Visually stunning. Very immersive. Great pace.

    I had never played BF before - but coming from CoD, I must say I'm hooked to the multiplayer mode! Maps feel a little too large at times (especially with the 24-player limit), but the game provides an epic experience.     this is a good multiplayer game, there are glitches/bugs but these are being ironed out, remember mw2 when that was released, care package glitch, server issues, not played single player yet. the only problem i do see is spawn killing which is so easy

    The first week problems were expected, but the second week, they had fixed most of the known problems. I enjoy Call of duty and battlefield, but battlefield pushes the boundaries out further than they already have. the graphics, Incredible. the Multiplayer, unbelievably addictive and fun. overall an amazing game. Do not let the reviews throw you off.

    I am neither a COD or BF fan boy, loved BF2 on the PC, but in more recent times have invested a good few hours in MW1 and 2. The multi-player side of BF3 is superb, it is a highly realistic and very addictive game!! As many people have said the games are very different, and I think it is pointless to compare them. This is purely based on the variety of gameplay at your disposal, whether it be flying a jet, driving a tank or being a soldier each experience is completely different. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys Multi-player FPS, it's a breath of fresh air! Having said that SP isn't worth your time, so don't buy just for that. And EA servers are notoriously dodgy.

    So to summarise, unrivalled multi-player, realistic graphics and sound and extremely addictive and fun.
    But crap single player, and usual dodgy EA reliability. The flaws can't hide the diamond underneath though. 9/10    … Expand

    The best game I ever played, not perfect but the best. Some cheats ruin it and some of the level design could be better but I am hoping these will be improved as the updates and map packs roll out. I am writing this before the release of MW3 so as it stands this is the daddy.

It allow tactics and strategdy as well as all out infantry and vehicular warfare. You can play it your way, be it sniping/recon; blowing up and repairing vehicles as an engineer; reviving teammates as a medic, or supplying ammo and suppressingFantastic game.     Awesome game, I love the fact you can actually destroy buildings in both single and multi-player and they actually disappear there are no invisible walls blocking you from running through. Campaign, while short, was quite enjoyable. Multi-player is as great as always, the ability to fly helicopters, jets, drive tanks ect. are great. Every game is full of so many amazing moments whether it be blowing out the side of a building to reveal an enemy sniper, or taking out enemy tanks with air to ground missiles on your jet, there is no other game that offers this kind of sandbox warfare.     The multiplayer really shines through in battlefield 3, Although the single player was lacking, who really cares? The addictive, epic and all out war feeling is outstanding, the sound is great the graphics are amazing and the gameplay is solid. This is the ultimate shooter to play with friends. I give this a 9.5 out of 10 on the PC.

    Let start saying, so far I just spent like 30 minutes on the campaign, but then when I went to the multiplayer, I was stunning. I'm not a truly COD fan but I have the 2 last Modern Warfare and played them for hours.

    Well let me tell you guys, the multiplayer from BF3 is so fuc$% awesome, the vehicles, the guns, the graphics, the SOUND. Just amazing!!! So realistic than you can IMAGINE. Multiplayer is very good though but the problem is abusing powerful weapons such as LMG's on the support class.     I waited till I played MW3 before I wrote this because lets be honest they are direct competition and I think DICE for all it's failings with EA integration and the.. shaky single player component of BF3 have still produced the longer lasting experience. Lets be honest, the staying power of the FPS genre is in it's multplayer. Is it perfect? No, not even close, flashlights are more powerful then the sun, and the glinting on the sniper scopes is too pronounced and obvious for example. However after playing MW3 all night I can safely say when I go home tonight to play, Battlefield will be in my DVD drive first and that's really what counts.… Expand

    Most realistic FPS ever created. Frostbite engine 2 is a really impressive game engine, the user experience is awesome. Suppression is genius, every FPS should have it.

    This game is amazing, At this point I have put in 1 day and 14 hours into multiplayer alone. I can not comment on the single player, as after playing a few levels i just quit, while they are a bit bland I didnt buy or expect this game to have a good singleplayer as Battlefield 2 didnt even have a single player.

    Now that I have played MW3. I will forever be a Battlefield fan. Mw3 is so horrible compared to battlefield it is not even funny. And i was a major COD fan boy...

    Awesome game, I played a ton of BC2, the feel is still there but slightly refreshed. only 2 things I dislike about BF3 laser pointers on guns and flashlights, other than those two things i know im 100% satisfied. Im glad new frostbite 2 engine isnt quite as buggy as BFBC2!

Gameplay and Maps and Guns and Team Play are simply amazing, I found myself just literally running to areas of the map just to view it from a distance and watch the battle unfold beneath and around me. This game is TEAM oriented and if you come into it trying to play it as you would COD - where 1 person can hollywood it up - your going to get your ass handed to you. BF3 is about team work and objective oriented battle. Not going to go into alot of details as the game will stand on its own for a LONG time, much longer replay value here than MW3 will hope to have. Will just finish with this. Jets, Helicopters, Tanks, Jeeps, Bradleys, Infantry, Boats, and on and on.. Game is FANTASTIC    … Expand

    sp is good , nothing new but as good as any other sp fps out there.
    mp is good, very team based , love the fact is has real bullet drop and such and that im able to able to blow almost everything up................walls in the way ..so the tank at it till its gone and drive over the rubble.
    being able to spot enemies for your team just adds to the team work. huge maps , huge amount of    sp is good , nothing new but as good as any other sp fps out there.

    The servers really need work. And also they need to patch a few things. But overall this is one the best games I've ever played. Putting an 8 now just because of the few bugs but I would give it a 9 or higher if they patch them up

    This game is most likely the best FPS I have ever played. The multiplayer is absolutely spectacular, and the 30 FPS does not make any visible difference in framerate issues at all. Each one of the guns feels completely original, and new add-ons have been introduced, such as spotting drones, the merge of the medic and assault class, new vehicles, etc. The sound in this game is top notch,This game is most likely the best FPS I have ever played.     This game is amazing. The weapons feel great (actual recoil), the maps are huge, the gameplay is faster than bfbc2, and the graphics are stunning. This is like crysis meets bf2 and modern warfare. (in a good way)

    One of the best games i have ever played in my life. Its such a submersion i can stop myself from looking past the short and relatively dumb campaign and i can say this is one of the best games i have ever played... 10/10

    It's delicious! I did not expect such a result! Many swear by a single company, but she liked me too much! DICE - great! EA - the only negative point - it's bound to play online and the inability to fully play with bots ...

    BF3 is the most realistic shooter I have played and it has got me hooked. I pick up these shooters for the multiplayer alone and BF3 right now has the best MP experience.

    Amazing game and made a huge improvement over time. Graphic looks amazing, weapon sounds are amazing the lighting is outstanding. However, there are couple of bugs from there and here. And also annoying Tactical sun light that shouldnt be shining your eyes in the daylight. The fun really compensate the bugs, lots of things to do such as destroying wall and flying and driving. Cannot get bored!

    Very solid game, refreshing to see new features in a online shooter. Vehicles are fun and classes work well. by far the best multiplayer shooter out there

    This game was great. Not perfect but great. The only problems I have with the games are glitchy knifing/vaulting through windows and the terrible terrible single player.

The lighting effects are incredible and make for a very immersive experience. When someone shines their flashlight in your face it truly blinds you. Add vehicles to the mix and you have a great game.     Stunning visuals (Frostbite 2 Rocks). Everything you've come to know and love from the Battlefield legacy. Multiplayer is where it is at. Oh, the vehicles - from jeeps to jets, there's something for everyone.

    BF games are made for multiplayer mode. you cannot rate this game for his solo.
    solo mode is a tutorial.
    BF3 make his job! the multiplayer is really immersive. we can really play with a team. very good game.

    The is only two reason this game doesn't get a 10 from me. One being the fact that they said the world would be more breakable but as I see it not and there is nothing i hate more then being promised something and not being given it. They have been worlking on them and making them better but the point of the beta was to fix that so they dropped the ball there. Now for all the **** they got right which would be the best multiplayer I have play in sometime. The key to winning is not run out by yourself but using the group to push up and take hold of you enemy, just as I think you would on a real battlefield. The fact that you can now not just speak with your squad but the whole as to tell different squads to watch out or move up adds tons to game play. The jets in air warfare with the helicopters is just amazing also adds to the overall feel of a real battlefield. The fact that they made the controls in a helicopter feel more real helps to keep the bull**** for BC2 from happening I enjoy too. All the addons for guns and vehicles make for interesting game play and the future looks good for the game.     They have put like 5 new guns, mew maps and like 2 new modes .AMAZING -____- . The graphics are nearly the same as MW2. The 12 year old's are back to ruin a gaming experience that is supposed to e fun. Very disappointing Sledge hammer Games.

    The recent patch totally destroyed this game...rent a server dorks kick for no reason, all weapons have been nerfed, and suppressive fire is ridiculous. "Pre-Patch" the game was really good except USAS with frag rounds and killing with the MAV...its a sad shell of what it used to be.

I used to be a Call of Duty fan but that series is so stale and recycled, this game is a breath of fresh air. I also notice that younger gamers tend to lean toward Call of Duty while Battlefield tends to attract older gamers which I appreciate. I'm very happy with my purchase. This game definitely pushes the limits of what these old game consoles can do. I believe Battlefield 3 is the reality check that game developers can now produce better software than the hardware can handle and it's time for Microsoft to release a new Xbox.… Expand

They should also add a training simulator for jets and helicopters...it just feels rude to the rest of your team to try and get on the job training. Otherwise, the game is fantastic.     The game is awesome. Graphics have been improved, the multiplayer and cooperative modes are simply beautiful. The realistic stuff, effects sound and enviroment, makes it a 10 out of 10 game. Though, the COD campers came to the game to full the online mode of **** what piss me off. Also dying by 2 bullets, is kinda dissapointing.

    If you like first person shooters, you should own this game! The single player campaign is fun but short, however thats not the reason you should own this game. The multiplayer is amazingly good fun which will keep you captivated for plenty of gaming hours. Too many reviews to read on here, just buy the game or rent it and try for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

    A great game with an okay single player and an amzing multipalyer. Also there is co-op which is pretty good aswell. The game is realistic so that you can't sit there and fire a heavy machine gun from twenty feat away and overall it is a fun package that any fan should check out

    This game is the best first person shooter i have ever tried! i love to play multiplayer, with jets, tanks and lots of other vehicles, coop is really fun too, i love to play it with my friend and other people on-line. The story is also good, i haven't played trough the whole story yet, but i am enjoying every second of it! I really recommend this game!

    Campaign, very disappointing but multiplayer? Awesome! Amazing! The action and excitement comes from all around you, 360 degrees! But as for Modern Warfare3 it's all in a straight line which is fun at times but people prefer the fun to be all around you and getting shot by jets from up above.

The single player looks amazing and has a pretty good story. while the Campaign is ok, multiplayer is where this game really shines. Games are intense and the action is awesome, there isnt an abundance of 12 year olds screaming like Call of Duty, and the frostbite engine takes the gameplay over the top. Bravo DICE bravo

    The first thing that I noticed when going online was the awesome map design.Like the Caspian border for example is absolutely epic,with all the trees moving in the wind,the excellent lighting effects and also the streams running through the forest areas.
    You jump in a tank at the beginning and all you're team mates are along side in jeeps,humvees,apaches and hornets fly overhead creating an awesome atmosphere.
    The campaign mode is pretty good but I tend to think of it as kind of a training mode to prepare new players for the multiplayer.
    The graphics are a slight step above bad company 2 which was a very pretty game and it doesn't disappoint.
    For the first week of multiplayer the servers went down which was frustrating but now it works flawlessly online and I have never felt any lag on this game because of the dedicated servers.
    All of the vehicles feel just right and are very satisfying to use,especially when you try taking control of the skies.
    Battlefield encourages teamwork and you are rewarded xp for supplying teammates with health,ammo,repairs or reviving them.When your teammates work together to capture an objective and look after each other this is one of gamings greatest moments and I already have so many funny,embarrassing moments on this game and look forward to many more.

    The only negatives I can speak of are the interior of the buildings could be more detailed.The aforementioned servers going down on the first few days.
    Also sometimes when running through rubble after a building has collapsed you can get caught up on bits of scenery.

    Well that's my verdict and my postman has just popped Skyrim through the door,so it's gonna be a long weekend.

It doesn't take 5 minutes to run to a firefight as mentioned by a MW3 developer. You can spawn on your teammates as long as they are alive or if not ride a vehicle to your destination. Matches can play out differently anytime. You can have one game where you used a building to dominate but when you play that map again that building may collapse on you. No place is safe for campers. Camper in a building blow the wall up or take the building down. Like any game that comes out there are bugs but nothing to return the game about.     The campaign is the best campaign I have experienced in an FPS game. Although that doesn't take a whole lot, since FPS campaigns are usually lackluster, Battlefield 3 shines. It is gripping and the graphics are stunning. The multiplayer is where this game really shines. It pushes the bar for what the console is capable of.     The campaign is the best campaign I have experienced in an FPS game. Although that doesn't take a whole lot, since FPS campaigns are usually lackluster, Battlefield 3 shines. It is gripping and the graphics are stunning.

I have yet to understand why they have been including a campaign in the last few battlefield games anyway. on a positive note, the online is near legendary. there are some glitches and bugs such as; hit detection, spawn locations, HEAVILY OVERPOWERED mobile AA, and a few other minor things. The air vehicles are a tad bit tricky at first even for BF veterans, but changing the button layout helps immensely. the gameplay does not feel as smooth and polished as a CoD game but that is some of its appeal. The sound is PHENOMENAL to say the least; realistic weapon/vehicle sounds, ambient noise, and dialogue are a delight. When played through a decent 7.1 or 7.2 home theatre system, the audio is compelling. It will make you want to perfect every detail in your HT. i have calibrated my speakers and receiver around 6 times, since buying the game, just to see if i can squeeze out a minuscule improvement. after some glitches are patched and DLC becomes available, this game will be a force to be reckoned with. currently, it is the multiplayer yang to MW3's campaign ying.… Expand

Its actually funny that they make the menu screens (Which are also terribly designed) blurry when you navigate them, are they implying that the terrible in game graphics are also a design choice. Also why is there no option to leave straight after a game ends? And the Kill cam or what ever the hell that is useless and annoying just let me respawn straight away I donâ… Expand

    What is the deal with the descending heartbeat audio/animation after every death? That is the most annoying thing I have ever experienced in any video game ever made. The guns do not handle well, and the single player is completely broken. Who are these characters? They aren't interesting in any way. I enjoyed Bad Company 2, but this game is meaningless.

In a real war prone position, jets, tanks, helicopters and destructible areas are all normal.     This truly is an amazing game. The sound effects and graphics are great and the multiplayer is where the game totally shines. The developers still needs to iron out a few small bugs, but I know I will still be playing this game in a years time.

Spawning on teammates is a blast and I find myself feeling like even my spawn selection is a tactical decision. Aircrafts countermeasures work to well (I'm an US navy AT 1998-2001) only one or two salvos of Chaff/Flares are realistic. The character models imo are very weak and low resolution, especially compared to COD where I think they are very nice looking. The campaign is very weak in Battlefield which is unfortunate because the trailers made it look so great. In fact the campaign is very dull and any attempts they have at making exciting moments fall flat and are just boring. The COD campaign trumps this one delivering a very exciting, cinematic experience. Overall I'd say that if you want the best multiplayer competitive shooter this year get BF. If you want a fun campaign and a faster paced multiplayer then go with COD.… Expand

    Multiplayer is deep and fun, but it still doesn't capture the fun I had in Battlefield 2, unfortunately. Oh, and tactical lights need to be nerfed. Ridiculous.

I have not played many of the other battlefields before this one, but im glad i got the privilege to playing this game. The missions are alot of fun. But i cannot emphasize the graphics enough.     I'm sorry, but the fact of the matter is that in a conflict no air craft carrier is going to be a couple hundred yards off shore. Planes are deployed from a greater distance. In saying that, I believe that it is unfair that the opposing team can strafe your carrier and destroy planes or helos causing you to die as you spawn in them. They need to either move the planes further out and not allow enemy aircraft the ability to venture that far, or do a patch where they can't destroy planes on the deck or the ground. Sniper rifles
    I don't know...if I hit a guy with a high caliber sniper rifle and he continues to run full speed, I'm having a problem with that. I don't believe three bullets to the upper body is what is needed to bring him down. Gotta do better with that. Percentages
    I like the fact they let you know how much damage you did to the person that killed you, but when I see the "X" flash three times indicating a hit, him only being at 66% upsets me. I don't care what gun you're using, that is crazy.    … Expand

    Great graphics terrible game-play. not as fluid as call of duty but a great game in it's own right. maps are big and the game modes are great, but because im not usto the way the game plays i find myself dying a lot and not enjoying it.

I start off playing team death match just to get the hang of it because the ondisc instruction manual SUCKS and the cheap sobs didn't provide a paper copy. Apparently they assumed everyone has played a previous BF title and will know what the sam hill is going on. I think it looks terrible. The high contrast, lighting and this weird blue tinge everywhere give it a disjointed, unrealistic look. There are lots of graphic anomolies. A lamp post giving off light that forms a perfect, unmoving triangle like it's a painting. Another yellow light forming a perfect triangle in the daytime! At least I thought it was the day time because of a BLINDING white light coming from the direction of the sun, but then I noticed it was also raining and the sky was dark in other places. WTF! I also noticed what looked like water running down the side of a building but then from a different angle it disappeared! I also noticed my gun was wobbling around like it was hung from a string. Thankyou for the continual break in immersion. I remember installing the texture pack but I had to go into the system memory and check just to make sure because the graphics jsut look terrible. I realize I may not have given the game a fair shake but this was enough for me to leave the game for good.… Expand

Its like no one played it before it went gold. Worst game i've ever played. Only reason I played it was someone told me there was a level where you could practice flying a helicopter.     I have a blast playing this game, The multiplayer runs so smoothly and allows you to create or witness moments of sheer brilliance! It makes you feel like you are in the middle of an epic war! This game blows MW3 out of the water and shows that some FPS' are still trying to make the genre better.

    This game is mark of genius. And like any other review of a game that in my opinion should be multiplayer only, I will NOT be reviewing the single player.     GAMEPLAY:

    Its like a moving symphony, I remember reading up on Grand Theft Auto III just a couple weeks ago. And the man behind the game was asked what makes his game so great. To which he replied "Its not all the systems we have in Grand Theft Auto III that makes the game great, it how all these systems are working together at once, that make the game so great"

    And I couldn't have though of a better quote for this game.

    Its not the fact that you can sneak around, like your favourite stealth action game character, using a silenced sniper rifle take out enemies from a distance, and then close the game to stab someone in the back. Its not the fact, that when you are shot at, at least for the first time, it scares you so badly, you damn near break the controller trying to go prone, its not the fact that when you are working with three other guys who are all communicating you feel like you are a SWAT team clearing out an area of terrorists, its not the fact that when you have can communicate with your friendly, tanks, harriers, and apache helicopters, to issue an air strike, or a bombing strike on your enemy.


    Wait what?! THERE IS KILLSTEAKS IN BATTLEFIELD?

    No, there isn't. But you wouldn't believe how many times I've thrown my mic on to tell the attack helicopter pilot I have a tank at B, and my troops are all out of anti-armor weapons. NAME ONE GAME YOU CAN DO THAT IN?! YOU CAN'T HAHAHA

    Continuing on;
    Its not the fact that no matter how you play, you always have the potential to help your team out, its not the fact that you can slit the throat of five different enemies whom of which are all standing right next to each other, without a single one of them having any idea whats going on, I feel like I could keep going, but I think I should do the reader a favour by actually going into detail.

    First I'm going to start off with my favourite part about this game.

    If there was ever a tv show that was just all about guns (I don't watch tv, so if there is one, pretend I said that) this would be the video game for it.

    All the guns behave EXACTLY like they do in real life. They all sound EXACTLY like they do in real life, they fire are the same rate and speed as they do in real life, they have the same magazine sizes as they do in real life. They fire the same bullets as they do in real life.

    If you wanted, you could look up the list of the gun names in BF3, and then do a google search on the internet for the actual gun, and it would tell you everything you need to know about the gun in the game.

    That to me is impressive.

    The most impressive part about that?

    The fact that since they've decided to go realistic with the guns, that means that for the first time ever in a online first person shoot (first time ever) DICE can release guns for DLC without having to worry about them being balanced.


    Incase you were wondering, thats why you don't get guns in call of duty DLC. Because the guns in call of duty fire "x"% damage. Meaning that if they brought in another gun, they'd either have to redesign every other gun already in the game, or basically make the new gun useless. Which is bring me to my second most favourite thing about this game.

    You never feel like you died unfairly.

    Now, there was one time where I thought I died unfairly. I hopped into a scout chopper, with chain guns, and some anti-air missiles. I found another helicopter, safe to say, I shot him about 4 times with anti-air missiles, all within a very short amount of time. 2 take down a chopper of that size, so when he didn't go down, I was upset. I figure out that he had engineers that were repairing their helicopter mid air.

    The solution to this problem?

    Get about within 10-20 feet of their chopper, and fire those anti-air.

    Doesn't even give them a chance to repair hahahaha
    I LOVE THIS GAME! There is NEVER a reason in this game why you should do badly. And by that I mean, if you are doing badly, you can chance your strategy, and I guarantee you will immediately improve. Here are the **** part about this game. Now the first you may dismiss, because I do not know whether or not they have fixed it but; Someone people will not die, I recall shooting someone in the head three times in a row with the most high powered sniper rifle, and trust me, even if he had 30 health packs right next to him, he would still die. Also, support class gets mortar. Which means they can sit in their spot, incapable of dieing, and then they sit there for an ENTIRE game, and just wait to get kills. Personally I think its hilarious, that kind of strategy will make the call of duty fans happy.    … Expand

    If you're looking for a great single player campaign you're out of luck, rent BF3 or pick it up in the bargain bin. If you're looking for the best online multiplayer action then BF3 is your game hands down.

    While Battlefield 3 was aiming to be the biggest name this holiday season, and while it has made strides towards knocking off Modern Warfare 3, it misses the mark. That's not to say it is a bad game, it's a very good one, but the polish and excitement that is found on the Call of Duty series feels missing here. Still, there are much worse games you could end up with this holiday season, and the competition between the two series should heat up significantly in the next few years.

    This experience alone sums up what Battlefield 3 is about. It isn't a John Rambo run and gun shooter and it shouldn't really be compared to MW3 in terms of how you play it. For players to truly understand the Battlefield experience you need to embrace the teamwork by joining a squad and calling out your spotted enemies, as after all, sometimes you also need your back covered too.
