The campaign sucks and I turned it off after roughly 30 minutes. But it's not why we buy BF, is it? :)
The multiplayer is addicting, the maps are astonishing, classes are balanced, fighter jest roaring over your head with choppers spraying rockets at them (or you, if you're in bad luck), the sounds of the battlefield, the visuals... all contribute to an incredible online experience flawed

I know it doesn't look like on a high-end PC platform, but hey... who can spend ~900 bucks on his gaming rig to enjoy all of that beauty? Not me.
I prefer steady (well mostly) 30 fps on the console, pad in my hand (well except aming with the stick) and beer on the side :)

A must buy for all BF fans and people who prefer a bit more serious online play.

Let start saying, so far I just spent like 30 minutes on the campaign, but then when I went to the multiplayer, I was stunning. I'm not a truly COD fan but I have the 2 last Modern Warfare and played them for hours.

Well let me tell you guys, the multiplayer from BF3 is so fuc$% awesome, the vehicles, the guns, the graphics, the SOUND. Just amazing!!! So realistic than you can IMAGINE.

Starting off will have to state the obvious as I did in my MW3 review. Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 are 2 different games with 2 different types of play styles - do not hate on them for that. There is no rule that says you cant like both.

Now - on to the review - My expectations were that this was going to be an upgrade over BFBC2 so I had my hopes up that this would be a bit better. Once I jumped into the game I soon realized that the developer and publisher both over delivered and under promised... I dont think they hyped this thing enough. Gameplay and Maps and Guns and Team Play are simply amazing, I found myself just literally running to areas of the map just to view it from a distance and watch the battle unfold beneath and around me. This game is TEAM oriented and if you come into it trying to play it as you would COD - where 1 person can hollywood it up - your going to get your ass handed to you. BF3 is about team work and objective oriented battle. Not going to go into alot of details as the game will stand on its own for a LONG time, much longer replay value here than MW3 will hope to have. Will just finish with this. Jets, Helicopters, Tanks, Jeeps, Bradleys, Infantry, Boats, and on and on.. Game is FANTASTIC

The only place the game is lacking is the singleplayer, but the absolutely amazing multiplayer completely over shadows that fact. And let's be honest, in a game like this, the singleplayer is not the most important thing on everyone's minds.

Amazing game and made a huge improvement over time. Graphic looks amazing, weapon sounds are amazing the lighting is outstanding. However, there are couple of bugs from there and here. And also annoying Tactical sun light that shouldnt be shining your eyes in the daylight. The fun really compensate the bugs, lots of things to do such as destroying wall and flying and driving. Cannot get bored!

Pros: Pretty (with the HD textures install), fully driveable tanks (complete with gunners), flyable helicopters (with gunners and passenger seats), fighter jets, anti air guns, more guns and unlocks than you can count.

I got that you need to sell you game but don't **** lie to do it. Two sever were not in good working order some release of the game. They have been worlking on them and making them better but the point of the beta was to fix that so they dropped the ball there. Now for all the **** they got right which would be the best multiplayer I have play in sometime. The key to winning is not run out by yourself but using the group to push up and take hold of you enemy, just as I think you would on a real battlefield. The fact that you can now not just speak with your squad but the whole as to tell different squads to watch out or move up adds tons to game play. The jets in air warfare with the helicopters is just amazing also adds to the overall feel of a real battlefield. The fact that they made the controls in a helicopter feel more real helps to keep the bull**** for BC2 from happening I enjoy too. All the addons for guns and vehicles make for interesting game play and the future looks good for the game. The first addon to the game come in December which is 4 new maps, 10 guns, 3 new vehicles also this is free if you bought the game new now like gears3 or mw3 which will ass rape you about 800 msps per 3 map packs. The way this game it meant to be played is with a less a group of 8 good friends because it the way i play and there is no better time playing online with my buds Expand

IMO they never should have released that Beta. The campaign is just "OK", the multiplayer is very engaging. I used to be a Call of Duty fan but that series is so stale and recycled, this game is a breath of fresh air. I also notice that younger gamers tend to lean toward Call of Duty while Battlefield tends to attract older gamers which I appreciate. I'm very happy with my purchase. This game definitely pushes the limits of what these old game consoles can do. I believe Battlefield 3 is the reality check that game developers can now produce better software than the hardware can handle and it's time for Microsoft to release a new Xbox. Expand

I have a few issues with the spawning system, surely there has to be a way for the game to recognize that a camper has pitched his tent next to my spawn location (obviously I don't mean using a spawn beacon...that's a crap shoot and completely on me if I get killed spawning on a beacon), but spawning one one of our positions should not be so rigid that someone can just sit and stare at the spawn point. They should also add a training simulator for jets and helicopters...it just feels rude to the rest of your team to try and get on the job training. Otherwise, the game is fantastic. 1. Large maps...yeah, yeah it slows down the game sometimes. Guess what that does....makes it more real. More room to move means more room to flank, over bound, shoot and communicate.

    2. Better weapon physics and customization.....bullet drop, loss of kinetic energy at range, shot guns that work past 50ft. For example you can get a 8x scope on your M16, but be prepared take a few shots before the guy goes down.....5.56 doesn't have knock down power over 350 yards. The fact that you can take a AK-74M and add a actual ACOG to it (once you've proved your worth with the weapon) is just cool.

    3. Varying MP sessions....Rush, fast paced survival fest that's a little TDM, a little capture the flag. Conquest, HQ style but the flag placements make you have to choose whether you stay and defend or chase down the next one. TDM......nuff said. Then, to top it off you got squad versions of this all.

    4. Vehicles.....powerful tools that aren't too overpowering and can be taken out with good team work, plus they all drive different and all have their strengths and weaknesses. (i.e. the M1 can take more hits but the T-90, or 72 cant remember, coax can almost shoot straight up for air defense).

There are some issues that have to be worked out like getting in and out of some rooms on some of the maps and debris/object that should be easily scalable or movable being impossible to do either to. Overall though the game delivers a solid shot in the arm for the FPS genre of gaming will probably spend 90% of the holidays in my Xbox.

I also like the fact that there aren't all the silly COD perks that basically are used to save you're butt if you're not a good player in general. Not having cold blooded and stuff like that was uncomfortable at first but once you get used to the game it's brilliant and a far better gaming experience that any fps I've played before. It's refreshing to see people really trying to stick to the objective and not worrying too much about k/d ratio. Rush is also a great game mode.

My real rating is 8.5, but can't so rounded it up. It would be a 9 but the re-spawn system is a little annoying, and helicopter third person view is annoying too. Recon also seems to be an underpowered class. A bit disappointed that the critics review give it less than MW2.5 but ultimately I'm pleased I didn't waste money on that (or BLOPS) and can enjoy BF3.

Since battlefield has always been a multiplayer game, the singleplayer is somewhat lacking but that's not to say it isn't good. I thought the story was well done and the quicktime events were alright. I would have liked to see a more Crysis-like campaign but obviously this game out-shines any other when it comes to mulitplayer. In a market saturated with CoD games every single year, BF3 is something new and exciting. Vehicles; land, sea and air, and massive online battles, (24-console, 64-PC) make it stand out. Teamwork is also emphasized much more than other shooters and being 1st in a game doesn't mean you have to most kills thanks to being able to heal and revive team mates, repair vehicles and give out ammo cache as well as capturing points for your team. Seeing that Activision has raised the prices for map packs that release about every 3 months for CoD, and the pricing has gone up while the quality of the maps has gone down, I just didn't feel that the CoD franchise was worth paying $120 a year to play. With that in mind I tried the Battlefield 3 beta. And while the beta was not perfect by any means, I knew I had found my replacement for CoD. I love the multiplayer, I even like the singleplayer campaign. I have been even loving the co-op missions and I am looking forward to the Back to Karkand Expansion coming in December. Do i think that this game is the Cod Killer it was advertised to be? I my eyes it is. Expand

Great game. Strong graphics and even stronger sound design. You cant come closer to a simulation war game than this. Jets flying over head as helicopters drop off troops while tanks blow up walls and it all comes together to create a unique battlefield.

I would give this a 10 if two things were fixed; be able to quit to the menu screen right after a match and not make it so hard to invite friends. Love this game. So refreshing to get in vehicles and blow up the scenery. Makes other games that can't do this seem dated...

I absolutely love the multiplayer of Battlefield 3. I was skeptical at first but once you manage to forget Call of Duty and stop comparing everything, you are gonna have the ride of your life with this game. Graphically, this is the game that screams for a next-gen, but who cares? This is what we get and now we should enjoy and play the hell out of it. Do yourself a favor a get a copy of BF3.

However, as with all previous Battlefield titles, the multiplayer is where Battlefield 3 really shines. Despite getting off to a rough start with predictable server issues, I am now enjoying the depth to the multiplayer, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the multiplayer maps - when I heard they were doing Back to Karkand expansion, I instantly jumped to the conclusion that those 4 maps would be the best on the game. Every single map on the disc plays differently and there's plenty of variety, with some maps focussing heavily on vehicles and others primarily infantry with one or two tanks/APCs. I was enjoying Gears of War 3 until Battlefield 3 came along, it's safe to say I won't be going back! Expand

On the other hand, the single player campaign is a disappointment, as it is a past-it mix of respawning enemy areas and quick-time events, and there are some truly dull missions (the first aerial mission, for example). Also I have had glitching like registering my jet during a lag where I"m pulling up, but due to the lag and glitch, I crash. Also the lame fact that a Street lamp makes a jet explode and the lamp stays standing.

I know several players have had complaints, several in vain. I.e. All my teammates are playing as snipers. Or the super bright tactical light. I see the tac light that bright because it's suppose to make it hard to see. And the sniper deal, that's just kids being kids and not using strategy. One of my friends complained how a person could destroy a tank with a missile. I don't get the complaint. I honestly don't.

For the credit on NPC's I love how I was trying to out shoot the NPC's. Not prevent being swarmed but the somehow endless killing spree of wiping out a whole village like Call of Duty. The only thins I would change are that NPC's don't have that stupid knife lunge. On the customization page on the main menu, you could filter out weapons you don't have. Also have more co-op missions. I felt the need for more besides 6 short missions with a friend. There are glitches to fix, which will receive attention in time.

I then tried the bad company 2 beta and thought,ok this might be good.I purchased it on release day and for the last year I've enjoyed many sessions going between Black ops and bad company 2 equally.

When Battlefield 3 came out I couldn't wait to get stuck in,and was grateful that it wasn't the same release date as MW3 so I could hammer it's multiplayer before MW3's release date.
The first thing that I noticed when going online was the awesome map design.Like the Caspian border for example is absolutely epic, with all the trees moving in the wind, the excellent lighting effects and also the streams running through the forest areas.
You jump in a tank at the beginning and all you're team mates are along side in jeeps, humvees, apaches and hornets fly overhead creating an awesome atmosphere.
The campaign mode is pretty good but I tend to think of it as kind of a training mode to prepare new players for the multiplayer.
The graphics are a slight step above bad company 2 which was a very pretty game and it doesn't disappoint.
For the first week of multiplayer the servers went down which was frustrating but now it works flawlessly online and I have never felt any lag on this game because of the dedicated servers.
All of the vehicles feel just right and are very satisfying to use, especially when you try taking control of the skies.
Battlefield encourages teamwork and you are rewarded xp for supplying teammates with health, ammo, repairs or reviving them. When your teammates work together to capture an objective and look after each other this is one of gamings greatest moments and I already have so many funny, embarrassing moments on this game and look forward to many more.

The only negatives I can speak of are the interior of the buildings could be more detailed. The aforementioned servers going down on the first few days.
Also sometimes when running through rubble after a building has collapsed you can get caught up on bits of scenery.

Well that's my verdict and my postman has just popped Skyrim through the door,so it's gonna be a long weekend.
I hope you found this review helpful.

But more importantly... it's fun and enjoyable, its what playing these "games" is about. Creating a squad with your mates and driving around co-operatively in the vehicles, consistently reviving your buddy because he's a noob and doesnt understand what a M14 MOD sniper does to flesh. Of course, there were teething problems with the game upon day 1 of release... the X360 server browser connectivity was shoddy but almost immediately resolved via Twitter updates and back end fixes.

I have left single player out, as to be honest i'm a Battlefield 'true' enthusiast... which means i play online with my friends and opponents.I get the distinct feeling Single player was only made so that it didn't leave HUGE holes in the franchise in terms of what it can offer to a broad market, so yes for me that gets 0.5 hours playtime.

Amazing destruction and team work. The only reason i didnt give this a 10 was because of the team deatchmatch mode, idk if the spawn's are just messed up or it was supposed to be like that, because the team deatchmatch feels like cod, people spawn everywhere, forcing you to keep on moving and use cheap tactics to kill people. If you want to survive you have to use bs like rpg's. I am forced to pull out my pistol often in tdm because of not having enough time to reload and have also had to dropshot quite a lot. I have bought this game to play tactically, but lets just say I dont want to play any other mode and have to play tdm why do I have to play it like cod? I think a good way to solve this problem would be to have 2 deployment areas like in other modes, that would fix the problems. Another problem I have is that certain guns are extremely overpowered and have no recoil (famas and F-2000). Maybe they made tdm like this to attract cod fans idk. Another thing I noticed is that why is there no option to quit to multiplayer menu in pre game lobbies? What multiplayer game does not have this option? This is fine for pc when you can just alt tab, but on consoles you either are forced to wait till the match starts or you have quit to dashboard, why could they not have implemented this basic feature that every multiplayer game has? Did they forget about it or something? Also why cant they just patch it now? They seem to release massive patches but cant they just code something to leave? The important thing to remember is that they are not gamebreaking flaws and dont deter from the incredible fun factor that is contained within the massively addictive multiplayer. One of the main reasons for this is one of the games major downpoints, the single player mode. The story is uninspired and follows the usual first person shooter staple of quick-time events and vehicle sections to build to a creschendo of the obvious. I will say the graphics during the single player are astounding at times and it does contain some rather funky set pieces, But we all know that BF3's single player is just tagged on because in these day and age, games have to try and cater for everybody. The developer, Dice have sort have given a nod to this in the fact that its stituated on the second disc. The multiplayer mode however sits on the disc uno, along with a HD pack thing that you have to install to your hard drive before you can play the game (this, coupled with a 189mb dashboard update for the game that fixes a lot of the games launch day/beta issues). Inside you will find plethroa of meaty maps, epic in scale, filled with usable vehicles and gun emplacements, choppers and jet fighters (the latter two are hard to control in the default controll scheme so i recommend switching the controls to southpaw in the options menu.) The XP unlock system is basic but effective giving the game a longetivy and also allowing you to unlock weapons, camo, attachments and special abilitys and also weapons for vehicles. Super polished and intensley addictive. Most players however wont give it a chance due to the other elephant in the room. The big COD, now, fact is, I played Call of Duty annually since the original Modern Warfare and will day that the game is a great game, The gameplay grew stale in my opinion and I decided to seek elsewhere for my first person fix. BF3 has filled those boots well so much so its taken choice over this years interation of the Infinity Ward game. For most COD vets, this game will be too hard, and contain too much learning curve. Stick with it however and you will b rewarded greatly. Expand

This game has such a strong emphasis on team play and when you really start to understand how each class operates and how each piece of equipment can really help your team if you work together, you begin to understand how deep this game can be if people learn their roles and work together as a squad. The maps are big, but there are usually just enough vehicles around to get you to your destination quickly. In this game you not only level up your rank, but you also level up your individual class based on how much you use it. THe same with weapons. Nearly every weapon has close to 18-19 different attachments. How many attachments you can use at once depends on the gun, but typically 3 attachments can be equipped at once. I can't say enough about how much fun this game can be if you play with friends and work together as a squad. Each match offers so many different ways to obtain victory, that it really doesn't get old. I highly recommend this game if you enjoy team & objective based gameplay. You don't have to be an expert at getting killstreaks and having a high K/D ratio to win games. You can score a lot buy supporting your squad and completing objectives. New engine, awesome graphics, the campaign ain't that great but I did get the game for the multiplayer mostly so it doesn't really affect me. If you have friends that are down to play this game with you online and want to play tactically you're gonna have a wonderful time. Lone wolves stick to CoD. Oh and a few glitch every now and then but nothing that ruined the experience for me!

I wasn't very convinced of this game. I got it for 360 and all I have to say is: WOW. Single and multiplayer are top notch, graphics are awesome and the most important part: I'ts very fun to play. I highly recommend it, but keep in mind that multiplayer is the strong part of this game, but campaign isn't bad at all. Excellent sound by the way (and heard that PS3 version supports DTS).

If you don't play online then this will probably be a rent for you. Single player does play a factor in the overall game but multi-player is where it's at in Battlefield 3. From flying jets or driving tanks is a great experience. The new engine really shows how beautiful a game can look. The lightning is probably the best I've seen and the sounds of the weapons has no equal. Big maps where at anytime can lead to a firefight. It doesn't take 5 minutes to run to a firefight as mentioned by a MW3 developer. You can spawn on your teammates as long as they are alive or if not ride a vehicle to your destination. Matches can play out differently anytime. You can have one game where you used a building to dominate but when you play that map again that building may collapse on you. No place is safe for campers. Camper in a building blow the wall up or take the building down. Like any game that comes out there are bugs but nothing to return the game about. But what makes this game great is you can camp if you want, you can go guns a blazing, it depends on your ability to work with your teammates. It is very hard to run and gun by yourself, but if you have a couple of solid teammates you can run around the map and pick off the campers. Or work together as a team setting up camp and destroy the competition. I love the team element of the game even though I hardly ever wear a headset. The shooting controls are harder than MW and I like that. Game requires skill and team work. I understand why people like MW and I don't begrudge them, I've played it for many hours, but BF3 is a significant upgrade to BC2 whereas MW3 should be a DLC for MW2. Not to mention the newer maps are even smaller. This game does have some glitchy graphics on XBOX (even with the install) and sometimes matchmaker creates some oddly uneven games but overall I play a little almost every day and LOVE it! Expand

But seeing the trailers to bf3, I thought I would give it a try and see if it could relight the flame, and boy did it ever! Graphics: sublime. Sound: probably the most realistic I have ever heard in a game. Gameplay: Tough for the uninitiated, but very satisfying. Being rusty with FPS games, I usually have a negative score at the end of the round and die a lot. But here's the thing: I don't care because I'm still having fun. The fact that running and gunning is suicidal in this game makes you play smarter and basically feel more like an actual soldier. I only have two complaints: Firstly, the servers are often broken and (at least for me) it is not uncommon for the game to crash when the level changes. Secondly, in big games it can be really tough to get a vehicle, particularly jets/helicopters. This means that for the average pub player it is very hard to have opportunities to practice and improve your skills in flying. I still haven't been able to kill anything with a jet, especially since you only have bullets to fire until you earn better weaponry. There really should be a sandbox map where one can just fly around for practice.... if this actually exists, can someone direct me to it! :P

There is nothing wrong with the campaign other than its short length, but honestly what else is to be expected from an FPS these days. And who buys a game like this for it's campaign anyway? If you want a challenge though, just play it in hard - it will take you about double the time to finish it.

However, don't buy BF3 for the campaign. If you buy it, get it for the multiplayer. It is one of the best online multiplayer experiences I've ever had. Camping for the whole game is hard. Vehicles are amazing. Unlocking weapon attachments is fun. Of course, there are the weapons themselves. There are four classes; Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon. Each class has exclusive weapons and gadgets. For example, only the Recon class has sniper riffles and the ability to place mobile spawn points, but the Engineer class is the only class with the ability to deploy rocket launchers and place land mines. As you level up each individual class, you unlock weapons and gadgets for that class. For example, at level 2 for the Support class you gain access to C4. Along with each class, you level up your rank. Leveling up your ranks takes time, but the rewards are worth it. With each rank, you gain a new dog tag. You also get rank-specific rewards like PDWs and camo. Now, I'll talk briefly about the vehicles. They all handle amazing, whether it's a tank or a jet or an attack helicopter. (Install the H.D. pack or you won't want to...)

MULTIPLAYER: This year, your choice of shooter combat comes way from basically two perspectives which are akin to paintball. Without having to know much about the sport, most play the game in one of two modes: arena & scenario. Arena is like Call of Duty & Gears of War. You start in close proximity on generally small-scale maps with short engagement distances. The point is to memorize the nooks and crannies. "This person is likely to be at *this* spot *%* of the time." Its fast, its furious but unless you're playing with a clan or close group of friends, you're playing by yourself. There are other people in the game for sure! But they happen to be in the same room shooting at the same enemy. "Team," most of the time, is actually a naughty word... Battlefield 3 is like a scenario paintball game. Yes, you generally start in the same area but the multitude of ways you can move, flank, sneak, and wreak havoc erupts from there. You can go as a solo sniper to a secluded area, set up shop, and dial away noggins. You can fly/drive about the map (and doing it just right) never set a foot on land. Or you can be part of a real team. Even if you go 0-20, you could be in the top 5 without firing a shot because teamwork matters. That's what separates this game from others. In other games, a turret is taboo. Here, a turret lays down actual suppressive fire that blurs the enemies vision and even if you don't hit a single person, you rack up points for the dead men you've suppressed. SUMMARY: Don't get this game for the single-player: play an RPG. Don't get this game if you roll solo with the highest K/D ratio: get Gears or CoD. Buy this game if you want an excellent combat simulator that brings together squads the way military shooters really should. If you want to "play", play something else. Battlefield 3 is when you want to go to war.

9/10 - For excellent graphics, a robust multiplayer system, and bringing teamwork back.
    -1/10 - For lackluster single-player.

Spawning on teammates is a blast and I find myself feeling like even my spawn selection is a tactical decision. Aircrafts countermeasures work to well (I'm an US navy AT 1998-2001) only one or two salvos of Chaff/Flares are realistic. Jeep is the ultimate Flag taker, laying down mines also a cool thing as you end up getting 5 if you get the explosives perk. Sorry this is longwinded just got this game today and love it. Solid 9.5 for multi player 7.5 for Campaign, bought it for multiplayer so 9 out 0f 10 :) Expand

This game I was highly anticipating. I am a fan of both COD and BF franchises and I own them both so I will attempt to deliver an unbiased review. It is just as addicting as COD and the weapons all feel very balanced and fair. Vehicles are a great amount of fun especially when people are working together as a team. BF contains a lot more depth in its multiplayer since it is more team based. COD mp is a lot of fun but can get frustrating with the small maps and spawn issues. Those are mainly non-factors in BF since the multiplayer allows the choosing of spawn points and larger areas. The graphics are phenomenal for the environments and weapons and vehicles. The character models imo are very weak and low resolution, especially compared to COD where I think they are very nice looking. The campaign is very weak in Battlefield which is unfortunate because the trailers made it look so great. In fact the campaign is very dull and any attempts they have at making exciting moments fall flat and are just boring. The COD campaign trumps this one delivering a very exciting, cinematic experience. Overall I'd say that if you want the best multiplayer competitive shooter this year get BF. If you want a fun campaign and a faster paced multiplayer then go with COD. Expand

This game succeeds in many ways and has flaws in many others, graphics are really good, sound and the way the game plays feels just right. DICE did mention the game to kick mw3 in the ass and...its debatable, DICE's engine is great but been a new invention means there are many bugs that they have, and keep on fixing. many little things dont seem right in multiplayer, like the spawn sometimes, the sound going mute at times, and a few more. That is an important flaw to say its better than COD, but what i really love is how people play it, there are always noobs that camp (camper knows camper does) but the fact that there are no killstreaks keeps the majority out and in the firefight, instead of hiding to get a few more kills for their killstreak like in MW3. i have never played Bf2 but i really like how BF3 feels unique in the shooter genre, the cutomizing, 4 classes, and weapons feel right not one been really overpowered e.t.c. they did not bring up the BEST game in the industry but it DEFINITLY feels rewarding once you take a break from MW3 or any other game, because it feels different and fair. This game is amazing! This games graphics are so realistic, and the game play is fun and realistic as well. I have not played many of the other battlefields before this one, but im glad i got the privilege to playing this game. The missions are alot of fun. But i cannot emphasize the graphics enough. I think the makers of BF3 did a real good job, and id recommend getting this game before MW3 any day! Expand

Nothing even comes close to touching this game's multiplayer. I am 25 yrs old and it is hard for me to find a game that really impresses me (since I have played sooo many over the years). BF3 is awesome in every aspect of multiplayer. The only thing keeping it from a 10 is the single player campaign. It wasn't horrible but it could've been better.

I was a full-time COD employee, turn BF3 recruit. I really enjoy the upgrade system in BF3, and since MW3 fell so flat for me, I have to give the edge to BF3, and have been playing it much more. The only BF that I ever played was the original for the PC, and I have to say this one has come a long way. Graphics are spectacular (even on the PC) - 10
    Controls are good - 8
    Gameplay - 9

Conclusion - If you're an MW fan, and are looking for something new, BF3 is your answer.

Even comparing Mw3 to this is an insult to battlefield, BF3 completely destroys COD in every way, there is nothing COD has that this does not, its new, different and innovative. Complete package, i just cant believe these 11 year olds who arnt good at FPS games are still deep throating COD

One of the best shooters to have been released so far, on par with CoD4 and CS. The single player falls short and is quite dull, but no one buys this game for the single player.

This game excels in multiplayer and has one of the best multiplayer experiences.

I absolutely love this game! Campaign mode was good, but it's all about the Multiplayer. Its a very immersive experience due to its sound (possible the best I've seen (or heard...) so far). Going from gun fire and huge explosions with building crumbling around you, to complete eerie silence and back again. FANTASTIC!

If you're looking for a great single player campaign you're out of luck, rent BF3 or pick it up in the bargain bin. If you're looking for the best online multiplayer action then BF3 is your game hands down.

While Battlefield 3 was aiming to be the biggest name this holiday season, and while it has made strides towards knocking off Modern Warfare 3, it misses the mark. That's not to say it is a bad game, it's a very good one, but the polish and excitement that is found on the Call of Duty series feels missing here. Still, there are much worse games you could end up with this holiday season, and the competition between the two series should heat up significantly in the next few years.

This experience alone sums up what Battlefield 3 is about. It isn't a John Rambo run and gun shooter and it shouldn't really be compared to MW3 in terms of how you play it. For players to truly understand the Battlefield experience you need to embrace the teamwork by joining a squad and calling out your spotted enemies, as after all, sometimes you also need your back covered too.
