    The battlefield moment is a beautiful thing to behold. In my first day of play alone i got into a one on one fight with a helicopter as a foot soldier then i shot two rockets to its tail and down it went with four soldiers inside as it crashed into the cliff beside me, then i layed down anti tank mines over every entrance of one base and then the second i laid the last one down a jeep cameThe battlefield moment is a beautiful thing to behold. Thats multiplayer in a nutshell. Anarchic and beautiful in equal measure. With lots of replayability and unlocks its the main part of the game. The single player tho not quite as memorable is still good as an extra something on the side and shows off the graphics engine better, best viewed as a multiplayer tutorial thats amazingly done.     Amazingly stunningly beautiful graphics. I can honestly say this game has the best graphics in the world right now. Single player is fun but Multiplayer is where the real action is. Addictive, fluid and great teamwork-based matches is a heck load of fun. Tons of customisations and unlocks will make you constantly come back. Worth every buck of your money.     Campaign, very disappointing but multiplayer? Awesome! Amazing! The action and excitement comes from all around you, 360 degrees! But as for Modern Warfare3 it's all in a straight line which is fun at times but people prefer the fun to be all around you and getting shot by jets from up above.

    This game is definately the best fps ive played in a long time. The single player looks amazing and has a pretty good story. while the Campaign is ok, multiplayer is where this game really shines. Games are intense and the action is awesome, there isnt an abundance of 12 year olds screaming like Call of Duty, and the frostbite engine takes the gameplay over the top. Bravo DICE bravo

    Fantastic game far superior to any Fps I have ever played. The game is huge with hundreds of hours worth of unlocks and multiplayer experience this game never ends and even though the games campaign is underwhelming the wealth of features well makes up for it. This game is a must buy and frankly those comparing it to COD have obviously never played it!

    All I can say is thank you for your hard work good job DICE even if there is connectivity issues at least its new and not the same old thing like your competitor. I am not a fan boy like this other review says. I liked COD and I like the BF games, but IS isn't changing anything. I have both games and just think BF3 looks alot better ancient more fun than playing the same thing that I did on MW2.

    One of my favorite shooters I own to date. The new graphics engine is beautiful and the game feels like no other on the market. Games that take strides towards innovation deserve to be recognized.

    Love this game, and can't stop putting it down from the graphics to the game play working as a true team makes this game immersive and realistic. My review is just based on the online game play and I have yet to still check out the campaign levels however the sole purpose of this purchase was for online.

    The campaign is pretty good but it still leaves much to be desired. However, if you are like me then you got BF3 for the bread and butter of the Battlefield franchise...the multiplayer. The multiplayer is exquisitely balanced and even with only 24 people on consoles it still feels like you are in the middle of an all out war! I highly recommend BF3 to anyone who likes shooters!

    Closing    The campaign is pretty good but it still leaves much to be desired.     A flawed game, this title was rushed to the shelves to beat modern mappack 3 to the market. it did that, but dropped a lot of content to make the deadline. Destruction is toned down, Como-rose is useless, the squad menu is outright broken, and many of the weapons are peculiar balanced. That said, the game is fantastic, and outright addictive. In no other shooter can you fire a gun, command a squad, fly a chopper, dogfight in a jet, drive a tank, or a hummer, use a mortar, and have the freedom of the whole map. This game is brilliant, and I'm going to stop writing this, and go play some more of it. P.S. On a side note, the Single player is a load of tripe. the Story is unimagined, the QTE's are annoying, the climax is uninspired and the cutseans are prolific. This is a MP game only… Expand

This iteration shows a huge leap in the controls and hit detection. Your movement is tight and fluid. Gone is the BC2 clunkiness. Minimal lag so far which is surprising on launch nite. Anyone saying this experience is less than an 8 needs to stop basing their review on how well they play online and start basing it on the game itself. BF3 is sure to be the top contender for shooters this year. i give it a 10 simply because it lives up to all it was said to be, which is all most gamers ask for. Great work DICE!… Expand

    Great first level in single player after that just good graphics, but Multiplayer and co-op are well worth the 60 dollers and the 10 rating. Hard to play anything eles when I always just hop on Battlefield 3 like its ritual.

    Battlefield 3 respresents a series which has been the only real choice if you want variet & scale in your fps games. It introduces new features & animations with a lighting system that just blows you away. This is as good as a game game look on 6 yers old machines no doubt at all. Everything can be blown up & destroyed & you just feel every tank shell & bullet as it drops or flys by.     BF3 is epic in every way, it combines what made BF2 the best PC game of all time and adds on that, with tons of new stuff, awesome maps, amazing graphics and sound, and that BF game play that we all love and bringing back 64 players the way it was meant to be played..     This game is great, I love it and have played it for a little while now to say so. A completely different game then COD, it offers a very subtle break from the frantic action of that game. My only complaint, and I'm not gonna let it dictate my score for the game are the people that support this game. BF3 shows us that the end of this console generation is here, and that this generation is now holding back innovation and the future of games (seriously, wtf is the physics engine on MW? Am I the only one that is dissapointed that grenades dont move wood pallets or outright destroy them?     Woot planes trains and automobiles!!! Well, at least it has a couple of those. After buying MW3 and playing for hours I wanted to voice my opinion about how ripped off I felt. While these boys didn't deliver on the PC screenshots and vids they were showing at least it was all 100% effort given at trying to reinvent the wheel. And for that I'm hooking them up with a 10.

    Really enjoying this game. It got some gerat Battlefield maps but there are some maps that are just trash like Operation Metro and Seine Crossing. I don't like that vehicles gets disabled so easy. What I also don't like about the game is the death skulls. They appear in the middle of your screen and on your minimap when a team-mate dies, it's really annoying. Best sound that I ever heardReally enjoying this game. I mean who doesn't like to take down whole buildings with some C4? Or fly in a massive battle! Or actually have to use team work to get a mission done.     This game has improved on everything from the last game in the series Bad Company 2. The inclusion of Jets only adds to the sense of battle scale and the feeling of being put into the war. The new weapon attachments and how you can add that flashlight, or RDS you just unlocked right in game without waiting is a very nice addition.     Didn't think i could have more fun in a game then i did in BFBC2. Although the mutliplayer had a few hiccups during the first week everything is running smooth and i love this game.

The unlock tree for each class has you returning the the BF3 nipple to suckle each weapon or attachment. Each weapon has a learning curve where you need to find that sweetI'm going with a full tilt 10 on this one.     This game is awesome. Great addition to the BF franchise. Flying jets? check. Driving tanks? check. Best FPS multiplayer ever? check.

    Only downside to this game are the players who refuse to play as a team, and players that camp vehicle spawn points.

    Its nice to see how hard work pays off. Brilliant game by dice, the campaign could of been better but is definatly the best they have done so far and the multiplayer is the best out there !

    On Xbox this game is excellent. The best multiplayer fps on the market, intense firefights, gameplay will support multiple tactics, lots of teamwork and customization,and top it off with very good graphics, and most realistic sounds I've ever experienced. If you want a deep multiplayer experience look mo further. This is your game!

    Graphics alone should merit this game a high score... add the additional different modes and you have a very fun game that will keep you hooked. There are some glitches here and there but for a game this size and built on a new engine.. its to be expected and the best part is that it will be fixable through patches.

The single player was a tad short but thats fine. Multiplayer is the heart of the game. Vehicles, weapons and EPIC destruction is what FPS games need and this game gets the job done.     Sure the campaign may have been too ambitious for its own good and shame on you for emulating that other brand. But the mp is fantastic. After having played MW3 I can give this game a 10 instead of the 9 it deserves. Could have done a lot better but its the best in its class as of right now.

    I love this game! I had a lot of doubt about it since I wasn't huge on BF2, but once I started playing this game it is apparent that they made this game much more playable. Definitely a huge step up from MW3..that game is absolute garbage.

    Jets, Destructible Environments, intense infantry combat, amazing vehicle play, realistic weapon ballistics, AND a solid campaign/co-op. Yeah this is definitely my game of the year.

    Amazing! Graphics alone are stunning. Amazing online and gameplay. Campaign story line is a little difficult to follow and more like CoD, but fantastic game!

    Online play is fluid, realistic, and just fast paced enough to keep your attention without making you have seizures. The graphics are amazing for a console game, on par with some of the best high-end PC graphic card required games. Personas don't look like cartoons anymore. The leveling system is a huge leap forward from the Bad Company 2. Highly recommend this one.

The other good thing that I like about this game is that almost 90% of the bugs and glitches on the BETA has been fixed and the remaining 10% is just some minor glitch which can be ignored like some minor running issues and other small stuff.. overall this game deserves a 9.5 but I'm rounding it up to 10. "Minor glitches and server issues (which can be fixed) doesn't stop this game from being amazing, thanks to it's fun and competitive multiplayer which will keep you busy for a long time until another battlefield game or even better shooting game comes out.     For any gamer who is still on the fence about this game, i highly reccomend you give it a chance. Sure the campaign is nothing special but thats not what battlefield is about. The visuals and graphics arent mind bogling but after installing the HD content, this game looks great all around. The matchmaking is very good, allowing you to get into a game in seconds or you can filter the search to a specific game mode and map. Lets not forget this game has dedicated servers, something Call of Duty always lacked. I have spent about 40 hours on multiplayer and literally only 2 games ive been in had noticable lag. Could have been my internet connection though. 

    There is so much to unlock in BF3, you choose between four classes, those of which are assault, engineer, support, and recon. Each have their own set of weapons and gadgets. Each weaopon is also HIGHLY customizable. Their is literlay like 10 different scope and sights available for your gun. Not to mention suppressors, shotgun attachments, flash supprersors, grips, you name it. 

    I love the maps in this game, they range from big to huge. But dont let this turn you away, the game is still fast paced because everyone tends to center around the objective. Covering ground is a breeze with the different vehicles you can use. These range from jeeps, tanks, helicopters, and jets. Yup you can fly jets in this game, albiet the air vehicles can be difficult to drive at first, but after a few embarrasing crashes you'll get the hang of it.  That being said this game is so fun with all these vehicles at your disposal, its such a different experience than Call of Duty ever gave me. Remeber in blackops where you had to get an 11 kilstreak to get a chopper gunner? Well say goodbye to that cuz here you can just hop in an attack heli and rain hell on the enemy team. Dont worry about balance issues since any vehicle can be brought down by any team with half a brain.

    As long as Dice continues to support this game, I can see myself playing for the next two years easy. Now excuse me while I go base jumping off a cliff deep into enemy territory :P    … Expand

    After playing this for countless hours I do have some criticisms. The soldier skins. They're good, but extremely repetitive. It's kind of funny seeing three of the same soldiers side by side, twins and triplets everywhere. The unlocks. Some are great. Some don't work properly (dog tags). Some are repetitive. There should have been more unlocks. By the time you get to colonel there is really nothing new, and only very lengthy spans between dog tags are left. Something to be learned from mw2 would be the addictive unlocks.

    There's also no way to communicate outside of your squad. And you should be able to communicate with the other team between matches. There is a bit of an issue of repeating maps before completing a full cycle. And with this, teams are switched up or you can be thrown into an entirely random game which all of a sudden has opposing strategy and unfamiliar teammates.

    These are very minor flaws however and won't stop me from putting in hundreds of hours.    … Expand

If you intend on buying BF3 for the campaign, I strongly suggest that you rent instead as it is an uninspired standard shooter from start to finish (which isn't very long). The unlock system may not be as deep as the MW system, but it is engaging nonetheless. I'd rather focus on the game rather than needing "24 more kills to unlock X". Overall, this game rocks. Beautiful landscapes, responsive controls, destructible environments, VEHICLES, and a ridiculously awesome sound engine make this a GOTY contender for sure!… Expand

The game is really fun and you can approach situations differently in multiplayer and everything is really open ended. The campaign is really good to if you separate it from the bugs it has.     Awesome all around. Graphics, sound, maps, vehicles, etc. You must actually use some strategy, if you try to run and gun, you're dead. By far the most realistic war game I've seen. The 12 yr olds will not like this one, but if you're an adult gamer this is your game.

    Much better than MW3. I laugh at all those negative reviews about the multiplayer. You people are way too picky when it comes to a game. Sure, the campaign wasn't the greatest, but the multiplayer is so gorgeous that it makes up for it.

    It has everything people love about the battlefield series. Great maps, great multiplayer, and unlimited fun. It is the best multiplayer shooter on the market. It just feels great and looks great. It's got new intuitive features and all kinds of new goodies. A definite buy.

COD series you have a long way to go to catch up . The sound in this game is the best ive ever heard. BC2 and Killzone series take 2nd place. This game sounds perfect. From the guns to the sound of the buildings ruble coming down to the explosions nothing comes close. The sound gets a 10 out of 10.

    Another excellent war strategy game released this year with MW3. Both games are different which is good. MW3 is like MW2 which is what we are looking for when we buy COD. And BF3 has vehicles which is what we want with Battlefield. DO NOT COMPARE THE 2

    I've been playing battlefield since BF 1942 so i bought this game for the multiplayer. I have this game for xbox and for pc but i mainly play it on pc ... I think the colors on consoles are horrible and look too dark. The gameplay is the same but in consoles its just doesnt feel the same.... there are many times where i find myself running around for too long. I give this game a 9 on PCI've been playing battlefield since BF 1942 so i bought this game for the multiplayer. I have this game for xbox and for pc but i mainly play it on pc ...     Awesome game. Great graphics and gameplay. Though the single player is a bit short and disappointing. I like the INSTANT BATTLE feature in Battlefield 2, which i would like to see in Battlefield 3. That would make the game ten times better and has ten times better ratings.     This truly is an amazing game. The sound effects and graphics are great and the multiplayer is where the game totally shines. The developers still needs to iron out a few small bugs, but I know I will still be playing this game in a years time.

Single player is ehhh, ok. The jet mission is very fun, graphics again are great. If you only play multiplayer games for the single player then you are wasting your money.

    Overall solid game. Call of Duty i remember always had lag, in BF3 the servers are run by DICE and EA and you dont have lag. Unless your into lag then buy COD series. They have an online website to track your stats and compare to friends on xbox, ps3, & pc as well as mobile apps and you can make/join platoons as well.

    If you want to be like everyone else and buy COD go ahead. Have fun calling in air strikes since most of you COD guys will probably have a pretty hard time jumping in a AH-1 Super Cobra or Apache, picking up your friends and flying over and being the air strike like we are doing in BF3 as we speek.    … Expand

    I have been waiting for this game since it was announced. I have played all the BF games since 1942 (except 2142) and love them. Bad company 2 was amazing. Battlefield 3 is everything I thought it would be and more. I will be playing this a long long time.

Its like no one played it before it went gold. Worst game i've ever played. Only reason I played it was someone told me there was a level where you could practice flying a helicopter.     Brilliant game, bought it day 1 and enjoying it since, so glad that the Bad Company aspect is gone from the franchise because it made the campaign in BFBC1 and BFBC2 seem too immature. Exciting campaign and an even better multiplayer with modes such as Conquest and Rush as well as Squad Deathmatch for those who want to have a CoD multiplayer experience.

    I have a blast playing this game, The multiplayer runs so smoothly and allows you to create or witness moments of sheer brilliance! It makes you feel like you are in the middle of an epic war! This game blows MW3 out of the water and shows that some FPS' are still trying to make the genre better.

    Battlefield 3 on Xbox 360 was not quite what I was expecting. Footage released about BF3 mostly regarded the PC version of the game and hardly any footage released about the cosole versions. DICE focused soley on the multiplayer aspect of this game and it definately shows, with months of unlocks it is definatley worth investing time into this game. You will always feel like your'e progressing even though you're not killing someone, and there is so much you can do to help you're team such as healing teamates, reparing vehicles and so much more. However there is a downside and I believe that it is pretty major. PC versions of BF3 have 64 player online where the battlefield feels real and on the console's it has 24 the same for BC2. Trailers depict heavy battle with explosions happening all around you while this may well ring true for the PC version this is definately not the case for console and is a real shame. While it works well on small maps such as Grand Bazaar big maps on conquest like caspian border feel shameful and hardly any action will take place. If you have a PC that can play this game then I strongly sugest you go get that but it is perfectly fine for the Xbox 360 and one game that will keep me entertained for months perhaps years… Expand

To which he replied "Its not all the systems we have in Grand Theft Auto III that makes the game great, it how all these systems are working together at once, that make the game so great"

    And I couldn't have though of a better quote for this game.

    Its not the fact that you can sneak around, like your favourite stealth action game character, using a silenced sniper rifle take out enemies from a distance, and then close the game to stab someone in the back. Its not the fact, that when you are shot at, at least for the first time, it scares you so badly, you damn near break the controller trying to go prone, its not the fact that when you are working with three other guys who are all communicating you feel like you are a SWAT team clearing out an area of terrorists, its not the fact that when you have can communicate with your friendly, tanks, harriers, and apache helicopters, to issue an air strike, or a bombing strike on your enemy.


    Wait what?! THERE IS KILLSTEAKS IN BATTLEFIELD?

    No, there isn't. But you wouldn't believe how many times I've thrown my mic on to tell the attack helicopter pilot I have a tank at B, and my troops are all out of anti-armor weapons. NAME ONE GAME YOU CAN DO THAT IN?! YOU CAN'T HAHAHA

    Continuing on;
    Its not the fact that no matter how you play, you always have the potential to help your team out, its not the fact that you can slit the throat of five different enemies whom of which are all standing right next to each other, without a single one of them having any idea whats going on, I feel like I could keep going, but I think I should do the reader a favour by actually going into detail.

    First I'm going to start off with my favourite part about this game.

    If there was ever a tv show that was just all about guns (I don't watch tv, so if there is one, pretend I said that) this would be the video game for it.

    All the guns behave EXACTLY like they do in real life. They all sound EXACTLY like they do in real life, they fire are the same rate and speed as they do in real life, they have the same magazine sizes as they do in real life. They fire the same bullets as they do in real life.

    If you wanted, you could look up the list of the gun names in BF3, and then do a google search on the internet for the actual gun, and it would tell you everything you need to know about the gun in the game.

    That to me is impressive.

    The most impressive part about that?

    The fact that since they've decided to go realistic with the guns, that means that for the first time ever in a online first person shoot (first time ever) DICE can release guns for DLC without having to worry about them being balanced.


    Incase you were wondering, thats why you don't get guns in call of duty DLC. Because the guns in call of duty fire "x"% damage. Meaning that if they brought in another gun, they'd either have to redesign every other gun already in the game, or basically make the new gun useless. Which is bring me to my second most favourite thing about this game.

    You never feel like you died unfairly.

    Now, there was one time where I thought I died unfairly. I hopped into a scout chopper, with chain guns, and some anti-air missiles. I found another helicopter, safe to say, I shot him about 4 times with anti-air missiles, all within a very short amount of time. 2 take down a chopper of that size, so when he didn't go down, I was upset. I figure out that he had engineers that were repairing their helicopter mid air.

    The solution to this problem?

    Get about within 10-20 feet of their chopper, and fire those anti-air.

    Doesn't even give them a chance to repair hahahaha
    I LOVE THIS GAME! There is NEVER a reason in this game why you should do badly. And by that I mean, if you are doing badly, you can chance your strategy, and I guarantee you will immediately improve. Here are the **** part about this game. Now the first you may dismiss, because I do not know whether or not they have fixed it but; Someone people will not die, I recall shooting someone in the head three times in a row with the most high powered sniper rifle, and trust me, even if he had 30 health packs right next to him, he would still die. Also, support class gets mortar. Which means they can sit in their spot, incapable of dieing, and then they sit there for an ENTIRE game, and just wait to get kills. Personally I think its hilarious, that kind of strategy will make the call of duty fans happy.    … Expand

Now back to battlefield 3, i'll start with a list of innovations in gameplay and graphics.... The destruction system, while flawed and not red faction, its still really immersive and realistic. Terrain deformation, bit of wall flying off wen trying to hide.... its insane who good it looks. I mean I see a bunch of enemies hold up in one area, fire a rocket above them and the building falls and kills them all. Like wow! It brings new levels of realism and immersion to the experience. The animation system they built is incredible, characters die, move, shoot, you name it, they do it so realistic its makes you stop a marvel at the true innovation they've incorporated here. Vehicles looks amazing, firing a tank in a wooded area and all the trees bend to the shockwave of the force from the cannon.... WHAT GAME DOES THIS! So amazing to watch. Small little innovations to gameplay also to balance the experience are implemented like flashlight blindings, laser sights so blind snipers out of their camping poistion, not to mention the lense flare if the sniper point in scope at you specifically. All these little things help push the genre forward. The sound in this game is unrivaled by ANY game. Just amazing, I feel like I'm in a real battlefield from start to finish of a map and it truly shows what can be done these days. This is the game you show to non-gamers to show them how far games have come and how much room for improvement a lot of games need to make to even come close to competitive with this great title. You can tell they put so much time and effort into a truly deep, immersive and NEW experience than its previous iterations. New engine = yes imo. DICE you've done it again 10/10… Expand

    This game is amazing, from the gameplay to the graphics, you will not be disappointed. The single player campaign is stellar as usual, but somewhat short. The multiplayer is second to none, being that its more centered on tactics and not just run-and-gun kill and respawn. If you are looking for the best FPS out there, then look no further, this ones for you.

    If you're looking for a great single player campaign you're out of luck, rent BF3 or pick it up in the bargain bin. If you're looking for the best online multiplayer action then BF3 is your game hands down.

    While Battlefield 3 was aiming to be the biggest name this holiday season, and while it has made strides towards knocking off Modern Warfare 3, it misses the mark. That's not to say it is a bad game, it's a very good one, but the polish and excitement that is found on the Call of Duty series feels missing here. Still, there are much worse games you could end up with this holiday season, and the competition between the two series should heat up significantly in the next few years.

    This experience alone sums up what Battlefield 3 is about. It isn't a John Rambo run and gun shooter and it shouldn't really be compared to MW3 in terms of how you play it. For players to truly understand the Battlefield experience you need to embrace the teamwork by joining a squad and calling out your spotted enemies, as after all, sometimes you also need your back covered too.
