    Une incroyable aventure, un gameplay addictif, une direction artistique au top.. on a vraiment du mal à lâcher la manette une fois qu’on y a gouté… le seul défaut, c’est le hardware complètement périmé de la switch… faire tourner ce chef-d’œuvre sur une telle console est tout simplement un gâchis….

    After spending 40+ hours I can safely say, that this game is a absolute gem. Yes it is similar to BOTW in many aspects, but also very different from it too. With more than double the size to explore and a world filled with secrets and things to explore, prepare to get lost for hours. The new abilities are all very good thought through and enable the player to solve problems their own unique way.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I want to first address the ppl giving low scores or Average scores as well as negative reviews (7 or below). I read about 10-15 of them. I would say 12 of them didn't like the first game or at least saw BOTW as a 7 (based from there review). If u loved the first, you will love this one MORE.

    Now regarding the comments stating that the map is reused- the map IS brought back, however, it is revamped as well as the shrines are in different places and shrines themselves are completely Different puzzles and brand NEW. If anyone here has played Bloodborne - the old hunter DLC took an already played area but COMPLETLY revamped it- basically making it feel like a new area and fresh and almost unrecognizable. It's the same here in this game. You go to a familiar place and your not like "oh this is the same old place" - its more like "Oh i didint even know this was that place from b4".

    I want to say this as my final thoughts. Zelda BOTW was my first Zelda game ever and when i bought it i had no expectations and didint know what to expect, and was blown away which lead to be replaying it 4x over the years. When i got this game I told myself im sure this is the same thing as b4 there's no way they can change it up, AND for the first few hours i was like "yea this is just more BOTW" BUT when I continued i realized that i was so wrong and much better and more then BOTW2.    … Expand

    O jogo usa a mesma formula do primeiro, o mesmo mapa com partes adicionais, algumas mecânicas idênticas ao primeiro jogo, e algumas novas, porem na minha gameplay tive diversos problemas de desempenho ao usar algumas habilidades, encontrei bugs com construções, no switch pro esta rodando em media 18 a 30 fps instáveis, achei as texturas pioradas em relação ao primeiro talvez pelo mapa doO jogo usa a mesma formula do primeiro, o mesmo mapa com partes adicionais, algumas mecânicas idênticas ao primeiro jogo, e algumas novas, porem na minha gameplay tive diversos problemas de desempenho ao usar algumas habilidades, encontrei bugs com construções, no switch pro esta rodando em media 18 a 30 fps instáveis, achei as texturas pioradas em relação ao primeiro talvez pelo mapa do céu, inimigos pouco modificados em relação ao primeiro jogo.     That's not to say that I don't see flaws. I do. Once again, enemy variety could be better, though it is notably improved from BotW. Dungeons are also better than BotW, but not as good as I could imagine them being. I can go on.

    However, I can do this with any of its competitors very easily. It's at or above games of its vintage and that's why it earns a 10/10.    … Expand

    The game is amazing, its a Zelda game with new mechanics... Everyone complaining that its not the "old" Zelda need to realize that not every game should be exactly how it was before, change is good sometimes... And Nintendo certainly showed us with these last two Zelda games lol

    Played this game since Thursday. It’s just awesome. Yes It is in BotW hyrule, but yes this is exactly where I want to be. The new mechanics, the upperworld, the lower world gives me enough new to see. Idea 10

    I am absolutely stunned by how much fun I have had so far. The world is enormous, engrossing, densely packed, and exceedingly innovative in ways never seen in video gaming before. IMO Tear of the Kingdom is the best game ever made.

    This game improved every good aspect of botw and fixed the bad ones. The content is three times as much as in botw, which was already a masterpiece in my opinion.     Es mas un DLC que un nuevo juego por muchas razones, el mejor DLC que vi en mi vida si, pero un DLC y que este juego salga a 70 euros y que apenas veo cambios visuales con BOTW pues deja mucho que desear por esa parte.
    El apartado de jugabilidad es lo mismo pero la parte de creatividad y rienda suelta al jugador si que es una maravilla, el resto es normal

    Excelente e imprescindible. Las mecánicas nuevas son divertidas y solidas pero me sacan del ambiente que a tenido siempre la saga. Las mazmorras siguen siendo repetitivas. La trama tras un par de horas de juego es interesante y buena.

    It's different, unique, but still feels like the first one. It have it's soul!
    Definitely not repetitive and absolutely worth playing!!
    The game is awesome, really, the game design innovates a lot, the plot is really well written, the new pieces of lore to the Zelda universe are awesome!

Graphically not great but that is the norm on the switch, playing docked was an issue because the graphics seemed worse. Switched to handheld and was less of an issue. Wish they would allow for more customization concerning aestheticsFun game, enjoyed a great deal of it so far.     For a game that many allege is nothing more the DLC I could not disagree more. This is an amazing follow-up to the last game in continuing the story. It has several quality of life improvements but what makes it stand out is the vast amount of area this game adds.     Fantastic game. I had over 160 hours in BOTW and this sequel absolutely feels fresh and new and exciting. I love the story and new abilities and new areas and am thrilled to keep playing. Having played Zelda games for 25 years at this point I definitely feel like they’ve added back a lot of the classic elements and produced a good balance between old and new.     This game is not even a five! The graphics are terrible! Hurt my eyes, even after adjusting my TV and Nintendo switch settings! Wait for it to go on sale, if it ever does! 5 minutes into it and you will see why! It does look funish, but the graphics kill it! Hopefully they approve my refund!

    I always have a short attention span for games even for new ones. But this, i felt like i was a kid playing morning til evening. Simply one of the best games thats worth every peso. And thats rare here in a third world country

É difícil determinar o que torna um jogo bom mas com certeza esse jogo tem todos os elementos.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Right from the get go, the game does not disappoint. It beautifully expands on the already amazing foundation of Breath of the Wild; even in it's first few hours, the game well justifies the $70 price tag, over doubling the world of the previous game, while making the original map new and fresh, yet still familiar. In the tutorial, I felt as though I was making my own decisions, but I know that the game was subtly leading me. It is clear when you look back at your path, but not when you're in the action. It is crazy to think that a sequel to a game like Breath of the Wild could be better, and in many ways it is!
    However, it is a much more challenging game (git gud mentality), but it's not unwelcome. The game's towers are much harder to get into, making the map that much more valuable since you're going to go a while in an area before you get it. All in all, the game gives you less to start off with, and much tougher enemies to fight.
    In terms of story/game-path it follows the breath of the wild formula to a "t," with the exception of the beginning, which is all exposition, with no real game play. The tutorial area is beautiful, and explains many of the games core mechanics outside of shrines. I really like this way of explaining the game, abilities are shown in the four shrines, and other things that will be needed throughout the game are explained in the larger world. Shrines that go more in depth on the game's "devices" are on the world below, but a crash course is given in the tutorial.
    Every step of the way, Tears of the Kingdom builds upon what made Breath of the Wild amazing, while fixing many of its flaws, and bringing the game-play, world, combat, and everything else up three levels. Easily worth the $70 price and defiantly my game of the year pick.    … Expand

    After buying the switch i took me 3 months until I bought BOTW. The trailers gave me the impression that it just wasn't fun, but boy was i wrong. I've been playing it with the kids for the last year, each having their own user and because how great the physics system is and the puzzles I feel like when the kids are solving some of the problems they are learning useful stuff at the sameAfter buying the switch i took me 3 months until I bought BOTW. But in my opinion, it somehow manages to surpass breath of the wild in terms of exploration, size, and storytelling. It's interesting looking around Hyrule and seeing all of the new changes, new abilities, new characters, new monsters, and allI was honestly surprised how amazing the game was, I already knew it would be great mainly due to being a sequel to one of my favorite games ever. But in my opinion, it somehow manages to surpass breath of the wild in terms of exploration, size, and storytelling. It's interesting looking around Hyrule and seeing all of the new changes, new abilities, new characters, new monsters, and all of the new areas. I actually really do appreciate the weapon durability because it actually makes you think, really want to use that extremely good weapon on a weak enemy? Not to mention the amiibo functionality is still pretty cool and rewarding especially if you have a bunch of NFC cards or actual amiibos in your collection.     This is my very First Zelda Game, and for a long time, I have searched for games that were a little challenging, promoted exploration, and were just an overall blast to play.

    While this game is mostly positive, I would like to address some things I found annoying or just bad when it comes to this game, Again don't get me wrong I like this game a lot, Just as much as Elden Ring.
    Still, this game suffers from a lack of menu features (eg. I want to cook my items in bulk, nope can't do that), sometimes annoying loot popups that just ruin the flow of gameplay, and maybe it's a bit frustrating at times with enemies with the simplistic combat but other than that this is an accurate representation of what games in 2023 should play like, especially on a switch.

    At the writing of this review, There is no way I'm Fully complete with the game, but I've played a Sizable junk, for more than 20 hours to get to know what this game is and the overall content of the game.

    This game is BEEEG, for a Nintendo Switch, I am still baffled at how this even runs, and only 16GBs?! Nintendo Out did themselves with this one with polishing. As for performance, uuhh, you gonna be looking at somewhere with 30fps, but you know what it's actually fine because the switch is such an underpowered console and just further flexes what can be done with such little power, as opposed to what the Recent Gen consoles are doing.

    And finally, I have never seen a game for a while that implements game-breaking Features so well, Building, Fusing, Portaling up and onto structures, and Time rewinding (These are the main ones), It's insane.

    I remember when I first started the game using the Building ability to make a giant rail cart so I can Go over a broken rail line. Its challenges and elements like these which I enjoy using my own way to get to a goal. Using the player with their creativity to solve a problem is what games should be all about, kind of like Minecraft just a little dialled down, and then mixing that with gameplay scenarios, just great.

    So If you have a Nintendo Switch and you're looking for a game or you're just a sceptical Zelda Fan, trust me the other reviews do not lie, you will sink hours into this game and you won't even be done with the tutorial area.

    Nintendo Fans should be happy with this one, even if it suffers some design flaws, heard that there are some annoying things from BOTW in here, this being my first Zelda Game I just enjoyed, You may feel different if you're an existing fan, completely Understandable.

    I'm still going to go back and finish the remaining content, or maybe just build a flying Train or something.

    9/10, Needs more Menu and Quality of life features.    … Expand

    La nouvelle mécanique de gameplay est très bien mise en place dès les premières heures de jeu, c'est un réel plaisir de remanier le jeu avec toutes les nouveautés, cependant après quelques heures on ne réfléchit plus autant qu'au début de cet belle aventure.

    Je suis très déçu que ce jeu à était sur noter par certains média le dévoilant comme une innovation importante par rapport au précédent opus, alors que tous cela aurait très bien pu être un DLC du précédent volume, ce qui me désole profondément.

    En outre je recommande vivement ce jeu au personne n'ayant pas fait breath of the Wild avant ou l'ayant fait depuis X années.

    It deserves all the hype and I'm so happy and relieved! From the mechanics, to the story, to the art, to the sound design, it's a masterpiece of a game. I'm a good ways into it now, but still the discoveries just seem endless. I'm having such an awesome time. I feel a bit overwhelmed with the shear scale of this game, but that's exactly what I was hoping for!

    TotK is a loveletter to all those hype fans from BotW. It totally misses you if you're not part of that fan base. Controls are a mess. Immersion gets destroyed by the ubiquitous use of this editor functions like ultra-hand and synthesis. Fiddly and with ugly UI elements. Then those elements like combining an individual arrow with each shot with an item you have come on top. That is useability hell.
    Well the graphics are good for people who are only used to playing on switch. I would say it is as beautiful as Pokemon Arceus. Anyone being used playing on current-gen consoles or PC might miss a lot that we are used these days.
    And I won't even start with reusing the world, textures, assets,... Fair enough doing that. But despite the new functions it feels too plain to me.

    Good things are... There still is enough good adventure inside. A lot of work went into breathing new live into the world. In my opinion this could easily be way better in 6 years. But hell... I played and loved Halo infinite and that game is far away from being perfect. Not mentioning the time it took for production.
    For me the right way of playing Zelda TotK is lowering my expecations a lot, not trying to get annoyed by the bad controls and trying to only look on the positive sides like a very big altered world I already know but can re-discover. The triangle-world-formula still works and it is fun letting my daughter play and see what happens when she tries to find solutions for the challenges the world throws at her.    … Expand

You need to put in at least 10/20 hours into this game to be able to provide an unbiased review - most of the haters have not even played the game or only played it for a few hours.     It's simply perfect. This Zelda features by far the most advanced mechanics in the gaming industry, and by a long shot. Graphically, it's beautiful, and the story is one of the best in the franchise. A resounding 10/10, already becoming one of the greatest video games of all time. A GOTY that will be talked about for decades to come.

    Don’t get me wrong that is a good game ! But after Zelda BOTW it feels exactly the same (same process, sales quests principles, same world).

    Of course there was some extensions but it doesn’t add as much to the game than a full new development.

    Story is sh***y as f**. Hope next Zelda will be different

    Great sequel that improves on pretty much every aspect compared to its predecessor but is held down by the switch's outdated hardware. No game of this scale has ever handled player freedom better, you're pretty much never forced to things in one certain way. Fans of Ocarina of Time style Zeldas might feel bummed out that it doubles down BOTW's design philosophy though.

    BOTW was (and still is) great, but this sequel is even better at every point. Take care, the sandbox-feeling is huge and the story is flat and only on top. There are main- and side quests and hole new map-events, too - every corner is inviting us for surprises. One more thing: the new cooking-system is great.

    I loved Breath of the Wild and when it comes to Tears of the Kingdom it does everything Breath of the Wild did but better! There is so many powers, equipment to be found everywhere. This game is a lot rewarding when it comes to exploration. Also there is so many things to do it kind of overwelmingly fun!

    What a game. A true breath of freedom. A tears of perfection.the gameplay, the open world. Nintendo dit it again with all the love.

    I wasn't sure how Nintendo would find a way to top their work in Breath of the Wild back when it came out, but I feel they have here – with years of more polish applied and refined exploration. [Issue #66 – July/August 2023, p. 71]

    The good thing is that, thanks to the limited possibilities, the creators couldn't go crazy and swing for hundreds of game miles. Instead, they created what could be called Elden Ring in a travel pack. [Issue#328]

    The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has lived up to the high expectations created by the success of Breath of the Wild with its exquisitely intertwined gameplay systems, outstanding music, and a legendary story culminating in a magnificent denouement. It's not every day that such a special video game like this comes around. Truly the stuff of legend.
