Nisiquiera he jugado el juego pero no se le puede poner un 0 o un 5, que tienen en la cabeza? no es nuestro problema que hayan jugado BOTW un año entero y esten artos, quienes lo califican mal lo califican desde su miserable vacío.

The controls are also confusing AF, there are too many and I found myself getting completely lost with the myriad of options available and pressing the wrong button over and over again.

A massive, massive let down. BOTW was a masterpiece, the sequel is just an utter joke.

This game is definitely going to win Game of the Year for 2023. Massive step up from Breath of the Wild, it feels like a complete wave of fresh air in comparison. For those who haven't played BotW already but want to play TotK and aren't sure, watch the story recap video for BotW on Nintendo's YouTube channel and go straight into playing TotK. You can play BotW beforehand if you want and it won't dull your experience with TotK, but that's just my personal recommendation.

And for those who are worried about performance, from my experience 10 hours into the game so far I can say it's pretty smooth. There are a couple instances in which the framerate can dip below 30FPS such as while using Ultrahand when there are a ton of effects or entities on the screen or in that one apple orchard on Satori Mountain, but apart from that? The game is mostly a solid 30FPS. The game is using what I like to call "Cheap VRR" in which whenever a frame drop happens in those instances I mentioned, the game will lock out at either a smooth 25FPS or 20FPS with consistent frametimes to alleviate input delay and the feeling of complete choppiness so it doesn't feel as jarring.

Enjoy the game and have fun!

Great game start to finish. It improves on BotW in just about every way. No issues with performance, no bugs or glitches. Also reintroduces a lot of what made past titles great into the game in new ways. However you feel about past zelda titles this game is more then worthy of the many 10s it has received.

How the heck this can have nearly 9 points? This game is BORING, even worse than BOTW. Since the beginning you are dropped in a dead world with barely nothing in it, sanctuaries are boring as hell, mechanics are terribly slow, butter-weapons mechanic is still there... Wasted 60€.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The sequel to Breath of the Wild does everything that it did with the initial title, but better. This time, you are helped by the Zonnan engineers into engineering your way through Hyrule and other sky islands, as well as underground cave tunnels that give way to uncountable hours of fun, exploration, building and all the exciting puzzles and battles with game mechanics that are revolutionary and have never been seen before in a videogame. It sets another milestone in the adventurous world of Zelda and Link against the calamities of Ganondorf and its ravishing land... the land of Hyrule. Graphics have improved and the lore unveals itself from the mysteries of perhaps, the best saga today in videogames. So far, it's a more than fair candidate to GOTY. Congratulations team Zelda! Things that are better than BOTW: Better load times, WAY bigger map(s), less stuttering (The 30fps are pretty consistent), much more options in combat and exploration due to the new abilities. More unique monsters and optional boss fights.

I have spent the last 2+ hours trying to find my way to the temple after unlocking the first 3 shrines. How is that supposed to be enjoyable? Spending hours literally looking for a proper path to a destination? Overall, it's a serious step back from the last one and definitely not worth $70. Zelda deserves so much more than whatever this is.

The same problems that BOTW had, exist in this game: poor voice acting, very little story to drive you, side quests of older zelda games have largely been abandoned in favour of korok seed mini games and a hundred different temples scattered all over the map.

I think if they could have just taken the size of the BOTW map, but made the population of NPCs as intricately connected and as interactive as Majora's Mask with similar improvements to the story, this would have been a slam-dunk 11 out of 10 "Nintendo sets the standard again," kind of game. Instead they opted to dive harder into the open-world aspects, taking cues from minecraft of whatever. Which isn't all bad. I have definitely gotten lost for several hours just exploring and inventing things and I can see myself getting hundreds, if not thousands of hours of game time with this game.

But when I think Zelda, I think of a bustling castle with people living their lives, with hundreds of side-quests available to really become the hero the people. Instead this game is more about solitary exploration with some big bad bosses lurking around should you choose to encounter them. Good game, great even, but I think my expectations for the Zelda franchise are a little different than what we got with BOTW and TOTK.

If you would rate BOTW a 10, then I'm sure you'll thoroughly enjoy TOTK. For me BOTW was more like an 8 or a 9, and I'm probably less critical of it because it was a fresh new take on the franchise at the time. But with TOTK it does feel very much like more of the same, and I was hoping we'd get some strong improvements to the story and things that were otherwise weak in BOTW. We did not. The additions are fun and strongly support the open world aspects of the game, allowing you to be creative and just kinda muck around in the game doing a lot of nothing for hundreds of hours... but because inventions in this game also lack permanence it can feel kinda hollow when you spend hours trying to design a hovercraft, only for it to despawn between save states.

The all crafting system is really efficient, I just love testing new creation and there are so much possibilities that I am pretty sure I will spend more houres on it that on BotW (wich was almost 300 houres).
On graphic side it is very similar to what BotW offered. It's a bit old gen of course, we are on Switch, but it's working and the Art Direction make it beautiful.

Honestly, I think the way BotW was set up is better than TotK, tho. TotK really feels more like they just throwing a newborn in the woods while BotW they waited for you to become a toddler first. TotK likes to bombard you with new quests & take you away from exploring areas & if you don't do said quests you will be punished for it. BotW, quests were really optional & didn't require actually doing them at all. If you don't do quests in TotK you will not be able to even buy basic armor or upgrade said armor at fairy fountains. Heck, you can't even unlock fairy fountains without doing several quests before hand & trying to find those quests in such a large open world is a trial in of itself.

Everything else is pretty much the same, except now there's shrines in the sky and underground. Also, there's now sky areas & underground areas. Caves have also been added & there's so many caves in the game, there's even caves in the sky islands there's so many. I think the devs might've gone cave crazy cause they put so many caves in the game, probably more caves than shrines.

So yea, basically it's BotW again, but now there's way more in the world than there was before. More to explore, at least. Other than that, it's literally just BotW 2.0. They even reuse the same armors as the first game, but good luck finding them or trying to buy them from a shop. If you haven't played BotW, I'd highly suggest playing that game first, not because of the story but because it's easier & will help you adjust to TotK that much quicker. If you haven't played BotW, the game treats it like you haven't ever played it, which kinda sucks actually. Most NPC's you've met in the previous game don't recognize you except for the big mainstays like Impa, Paya & Robbie along with the Zora's who knew Link 100 years ago. People you've helped in BotW will still be in TotK, but they won't know who the heck you are. I guess 5 years later is a long time, but you'd think more people would recognize the guy who literally stopped the calamity almost single handed.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm giving this a 10/10 to help pad the review bombs that is currently being put out by people who are sad and have little else to do in their lives. Anyone who is saying this is just a dlc is clearly not really giving credit to the game for it's work. I have issues with it as well, so I'm not saying it's a perfect game, though I find it highly enjoyable and perhaps as good or better than it's predecessor. The good:
It's a beautiful game. It has more detailing than BOTW and they streamlined a lot of what people complained about. The monster variability is excellent (though not quite to the caliber of older games. I just think sacrifices have to be made for a game this size). The winner though. What sets this game aboverthe rest and puts it beyond any dlc is the Depths. An underground as big as the surface with its own ecosystem, it's own history and story, monsters, play system. It's really original and I've not seen anything quite like it in other games. It's creepy, atmospheric and just lovely. The abilities Link has access to--your imagination really is the limit. It's a feat of coding. It really is. There's so much to do, it's almost overwhelming. And they make building accessible too! So if you just want to have fun without progressing, you can. I completed the map before continuing with any of the game's story. This game offers so much. I played three days non stop, easily of 48 hours, and did not get bored easily (though sometimes frustrated, because they definitely upped the monster difficulty!)

The game's style is so beautiful and the music is just perfect. They did so well with the soundtrack that I'm blown away. I love the characters and their style as well. Well done in that perspective. The Bad:
The story mechanics are almost cut/paste. You see stories through memories you find, though these are prettier in style. The attaching menu is honestly difficult. They should have made a quick access menu for throwing and attaching to arrows we could customize. It's awful cycling through my entire inventory looking for that damn bomb flower!

The mechanics to gaming could be streamlined a little. I find myself pushing the incorrect buttons trying to find Link's abilities, though it doesn't take long for me to correct.

    Takeaway:

Tears of the Kingdom is a breathtaking game that will give you hours (and I mean hours) of fun and creativity with original environments to explore and challenging monsters and puzzles. It's in a familiar land that's just different enough to continue to provide surprises! Highly highly recommend!

I think that the way in which the game makes the different abilities available, it does it perfectly, implementing new mechanics that serve to get the most out of the imagination of all the players, the gameplay and the way in which it is recreated. history is a work of art.

I'm a fan of Zelda. I can get behind BOTW, but not TOTK. And yes, I've experienced every aspect of both games (shrines, plot, exploring the world, quests, sky, depths). After 30 hours in this game, I know I'm in for a building slog.

The framerate isn't gamebreaking. It's mostly noticeable for me with the camera because I can't turn lol. But that isn't what holds TOTK back.

What holds TOTK back is Ultrahand. Ultrahand = SS motion controls. And I like Fi more than most of this cast. SS is a low bar that TOTK should be able to beat, but doesn't. Ultrahand takes far too long because it introduces a linear way to puzzle in a BOTW format. You have to gingerly aim where you place objects or risk having to start over. Maybe I'd like Ultrahand more if there were other items I could use to impact puzzles. But Ultrahand's gravest offense is that it promises a fun time because it allows for "player creativity", and then eats the player's time by requiring them to build exactly as the game designed. And despite a brilliant start, the plot felt lazy (the story did do better than BOTW though. At least Nintendo tried).

The world is emptier. It is straight up harder to collect materials AND materials are worth less (prices are the same btw). Luminous ore, for example, used to be worth 70 rupees but now grants only 20. Your best bet for money is probably cooking, but to do that you have to travel quite a ways across open space to gather sparse materials.

This game won't age well. It can't for the reasons I've mentioned. Once the rabid excitement of the game wears off, I don't think this game will be seen favorably. Sure, I might spend more time with it than BOTW, but that's because this game doesn't respect my time. A long game with Ultrahand puzzles building the same machines got old fast for me, and I wager it'll be the same for a large portion of the player base.

That said, this game is salvageable--if it takes a leaf out of SS's book and streamlines Ultrahand, combines the content with DLC I'm sure is coming to address some of the emptiness, then maybe TOTK has life. That leaves a bad taste in my mouth though, since TOTK took 4 years to develop and it took players only a few days to notice that Ultrahand is supposed to take 20+ hours of a serious player's playthrough, but is NOT fun with trial and error.
