    It's an odyssey, plain and simple. but the journey makes me feel like a tourist, to be honest, collecting odyssey souvenirs, having a brochure style map screen and seeing the sights, along with the goals which i won't spoil. the "power up equivalent" that we get with cappy is brilliant, giving us so much to work with over countless brilliantly though out kingdoms, from a hat town to-It's an odyssey, plain and simple. but the journey makes me feel like a tourist, to be honest, collecting odyssey souvenirs, having a brochure style map screen and seeing the sights, along with the goals which i won't spoil. the "power up equivalent" that we get with cappy is brilliant, giving us so much to work with over countless brilliantly though out kingdoms, from a hat town to- actually, i won't spoil it. one thing that i found doesn't work well, however, is multiplayer, but it might work better if i had more joy-cons. it takes elements from all six 3D games, not just the "main four" that we usually think of. the controls, especially with the roll and crouch, feels like 3D land, but other elements are reminiscent of galaxy. it's packed with references to 64, and the freeness to explore fixed areas full of collectibles which you gain access to after collecting a certain amount is CLEARLY taken from 64. sunshine doesn't get much, but there is a kingdom that feels like it's a reference to the game cube classic. I can't put much more without spoiling, but i will say this: get the game.… Expand

    Everyone who says this game sucks is a PS4 fan. There is no way this game is that bad, honestly. Every minute of this game is great for anyone. It is a true masterpiece, and I love it. Go Nintendo! (Be quiet, Sony. You'll get your turn if you make LBP5.)

    è così che si fa un gioco nel 2017 XD
    sono costretto a mettere 10 per recuperare un minimo quei birbaccioni che mettono 0 perchè hanno i genitori che quando erano piccoli non gli hanno insegnato le cose che contano nella vita.
    in realtà non è perfetto, ma poco ci manca.
    chi non apprezza questo gioco deve considerarsi assolutamente uno sfigato!

    got ir early, I have put a ton of hours in to this game, refreshing, bold, but keeps the essence of a mario game, in simple words, a Master Piece, if you have a switch a dont have this game, you dont have a switch

    There's only one thing to say about odyssey it amazes me like Super Mario 64 amazed me 1996. It is redefining the genre, an absolute instant classic. The graphics are almost to good for that tiny switch, constant 60 Frames and perfect control over mario, playing with a controller was never so satisfying.

    Este juego, con mis 31 años me ha recuperar la ilusión por los videojuegos.
    Cada uno de los elementos es simplemente magnífico, resaltando sobre todo, sus animaciones, música y la ambientación.
    Un diez en toda regla.

    I understand the criticism pertaining to the difficulty level (bosses really are too easy), but how could anyone dislike this fantastic, colorful and funny game? Probably the best in the series. It brings you to a fantastic world with tons of things to do. Gathering all collectibles without reading a guide will be rather difficult, I love it.

    This game is fantastic. This game is honestly what I wanted from Mario. It has been so long since I have been this hyped for a Mario. It's absolutely ridiculous. I cannot believe this is happening.

    A big THANKS to Nintendo for that game! I have so much fun with it. It's colorfull, it's creativ, it's just a real Mario-Game who let me go back to the 90'ies. It's simple: If you loved Mario 64, you will love Mario Odyssey.

    I have to be honest: The last Super Mario game I really played were Super Mario 64.
    But this game (I just played 2.5 hours) already convinced me and I am dying to get back home from work and continue playing this masterpiece. It feels like you have been thrown back in time and taking your first steps in Super Mario 64. Okay...it could be possible that there is a    Just one word...WOW!!!
    I have to be honest: The last Super Mario game I really played were Super Mario 64.
    But this game (I just played 2.5 hours) already convinced me and I am dying to get back home from work and continue playing this masterpiece. It feels like you have been thrown back in time and taking your first steps in Super Mario 64. Okay...it could be possible that there is a little bit of nostalgia that pushes this game from a 9 to a 10. Because it really has its little weak points.
    For example the controls are sometimes mildly imprecise and circuitous when capturing a bullet.
    You have to turn the camera before controlling the bullet without problems.
    But this is some little detail that is forgotten as soon as you jump around the next corner and throw Cappy to fight the next enemies. Long story short: I'm already in love with this game and looking forward to some awesome hours of gameplay.    … Expand

It has the same effect as a maxi-mashroom, destroying everything on its way, just as a freaking DINOSAUR! Cappy is further a great tool, which i would have needed in other mario titles to reach all the necessary stuff! Super Mario Odyssey es una maravilla de video juego que reinventa el genero de plataformas y el sandbox, me recuerda al Super Mario 64 por la mecánica de encontrar lunas que son el simil a las estrellas y por los movimientos de Mario que son idénticos. La diferencia está en que Super Mario Odyssey tiene un gameplay único, totalmente renovado e innovador, gracias a Cappy el nuevo personaje del universo de Mario. Cappy es originalmente de Cap Kingdom y se une a Mario para rescatar a su hermana, Tiara, ya que Bowser había secuestrado a la princesa Peach y a Tiara para cumplir su deseo de casarse con la princesa. Cappy es un "sombrero" que puede cambiar su aspecto a diversos sombreros. Cuando Mario arroja a Capy contra ciertos enemigos u objetos Cappy los posee lo que permite que Mario los controle y pueda sacar provecho de sus habilidades para pasar las "etapas", esta capacidad se conoce como capturas. Mario también puede usar a Cappy para lanzarlo para eliminar enemigos, obtener monedas, o realizar saltos que parecen imposibles.

    Los mundos son una maravilla gráficamente, son totalmente re jugables ya que no son lineales. Si bien la historia se puede terminar en 15 horas aprox., una vez terminado el juego se abre un mundo de posibilidades, se desbloquean nuevos mundos a explorar, nuevo trajes y sombreros. Además de nuevos desafíos de minijuegos. Mario podrá volver a los mundos jugados y volver a explorarlos, encontrar las lunas que faltaron y las nuevas lunas que aparecen una vez terminada la historia principal de este, lo que hace que el titulo entregue fácilmente más 200 horas de juego ya que no es sencillo encontrar todas las lunas.

    Es destacable la cantidad de trajes y sombreros que hay en el juego, y que hay trajes que te permite acceder a ciertos lugares. Mario puede vestir de doctor, de explorador, de cavernícola, etc.

    La música es otro de los puntos altos, música de altísimo nivel, donde se encuentran títulos como "Jump Up, Super Star!".

    Los minijuegos también son un punto a destacar ya que son entretenidos y puedes comparar tu record con la tabla de record online de jugadores de todo el mundo, puedes intentar llegar al ranking top ten.

    Lo que hicieron los desarrolladores de Nintendo técnicamente es increíble, se nota que lo desarrollaron con amor, lo podemos ver en las etapas que mezclan el clásico plataformas 2D dentro del mundo 3D, la amistad que se genera entre Mario y el perrito o cuando mario reúne a todos los músicos y en el festival suena la música "Jump Up, Super Star!" mezclando 2D con 3D, son detalles emocionantes que se agradecen. El final de mario es increíble, el poder capturar a Bowser para salvar a la princesa del derrumbe fue épico.

    Por todo lo dicho anteriormente y considerando que no hay palabras que puedan hacer justicia a este video juego, creo que marcará un precedente en el genero de plataformas. Merece más de un 10. Creo que este juego es quizás el mejor video juego de la saga de Mario en la historia, y junto a The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild uno de los mejores video juegos del año, ambos se merecen el premio a GOTY 2017.    … Expand

    This game is extremely amazing and a must have for any switch owner. The worlds are amazing and this is just like Super Mario 64. Fun. Also because it’s open world, it is even MORE amazing!! Good job Nintendo.

    It’s beautiful, you may be insecure thanks to the people that says its easy, this is true but only applies for the main story, some moons could took you hours to reach, with incredible puzzles, plattaformes 2d and 3d and some experimental stuff which amazes me. And the bosses fights are dynamic and a little challenging    I just created a metacritic account to review this master peace.

And the story is pretty good for a mario, it kinda breaks the prototype that nintendo created years ago, and the lore seems huge. If we talk about graphics i could say this is the best looking game on switch, it has so much details and beautiful landscapes.

    Épico, lendário, espetacular.....Gotyssey!!!

    Simplesmente o melhor jogo de Mario de todos os tempos.

    Gráficos maravilhosos, trilha sonora espetacular, jogabilidade que lembra de Mario 64 fazem desse titulo sem dúvida o melhor e MAIOR jogo de Mario de todos os tempos!!!

    A fantastic game and a true sequel to Super Mario 64. If you enjoy 3D platformers, this is a must-buy. It has so much to do, and is packed with content. One of Mario's finest games yet, can't recommend it enough.

    O jogo está maravilhoso, principalmente pelos efeitos visuais, até mesmo no próprio Mario e nos mundos. A quantidade de luas é muito grande, sem contar que a jogabilidade é muito boa. A Nintendo capricha e sempre caprichou em jogos e Super Mario Odyssey é um deles.

    I might not have played the 64 version of Super Mario 64 but I did play the DS version and this game just oozes references to that great game and it's just amazing I would recommend it to anyone who asks 10 out of 10 that's not to say the game is without fail though.

    Wow, what a game! The snapshot mode is great along with the storyline which considering it is a Mario game is quite advanced. The way Mario moves is great, the way you collect things (mainly moons) is great too and the game as a whole is amazing. Whether you are a newcomer to the Mario universe or if you are a long time fan, this game will provide a breathtaking experience that has neverWow, what a game!     So far I'm in about 8 hours and I'm loving every second of this game. the fact it has a smooth 60 fps also adds to the enjoyment. you can really tell that Nintendo really put some time and effort into this game as they have really pushed the switch with this game which is what I want to see from a 1st party release, the unity of hardware and software together as one.

    Some have complained about the graphics being low res however even when playing docked on a 4k TV I struggled to be over critical of the graphics especially when I'm hyper focused on gameplay the story is compelling and if you are a completionist this is the next game for you as there are so many extra hidden power moons in each level than the ones needed to move on to the next world.

    This game also gave me major nostalgia back to super Mario 64 from my childhood as soon as I put the cartridge in it felt instantly familiar. So if you loved that game or any of the other super mario 3d exploration games like sunshine or galaxy then defiantly give this a whirl you won't regret it and you'll find yourself like me wondering where the last 8 hours went!

    To sum up this really is a killer app for s switch and hopefully helps establish switch to stay around for a while and shift some more systems this Christmas. also hopefully it attracts some attention from 3rd party dens to make some more epic game for this awesome little console.    … Expand

    Just an amazing game the was no over hype, I feel this game does deserve a perfect 10/10. The game is smooth, beautiful, and all around perfect. Definitely deserves game of the year.

    Super Mario Odyssey is pretty much as close as a game can get to perfection. Nintendo must be on something that no other developer can get ahold of because they create the most wacky and creative level designs and characters that ACTUALLY WORK in recent history. Everything about the game is extremely charming, engaging, and downright FUNNNNN. Love it and highly recommend this game toSuper Mario Odyssey is pretty much as close as a game can get to perfection. Nintendo must be on something that no other developer can get ahold of because they create the most wacky and creative level designs and characters that ACTUALLY WORK in recent history.     Hacia mucho tiempo que no me sentía tan emocionado por una nueva entrega de la franquicia, tanto hype desde su anuncio y debo decir que esta al 100% justificado, el diseño de niveles, la jugabilidad, es un completo placer controlar a mario en esta entrega, me he llevado muchas sorpresas agradables mediante el juego e incluso nostalgia al homenajear a juegos pasados, la gorra (Cappy) vieneHacia mucho tiempo que no me sentía tan emocionado por una nueva entrega de la franquicia, tanto hype desde su anuncio y debo decir que esta al 100% justificado, el diseño de niveles, la jugabilidad, es un completo placer controlar a mario en esta entrega, me he llevado muchas sorpresas agradables mediante el juego e incluso nostalgia al homenajear a juegos pasados, la gorra (Cappy) viene a dar nuevos aires a la franquicia y su uso se vuelve natural y se recibe de muy buena manera. Tenemos un montón de lunas por recolectar y si bien la historia principal no es la mas larga o profunda del mundo de los videojuegos al finalizarla el juego apenas comienza ya que un montón de nuevas lunas por recolectar a parecen y nuevos retos con un poco mas de dificultad.     Super Mario Odyessey is the pinnacle of what a 3D mario adventure can be. With polished mechanics that include a plethora of refined jumps and captures, to just simple smile all the time fun with the games host of lovable characters, this is one adventure I just cant put down. This IS the new 64.

    The design of the adventure experience is exceptional genius. Big leap from the Mario 64 genre to a refreshing open world exploration. Move set is easy to learn but hard to master. Its fun and the fun is all it matters.

    EXCELENTE es una pieza de arte, después de Super Mario World y Mario Bros. 3, es el MEJOR Mario, esas escenas retro que nos recuerdan al primer Mario en la NES. Gracias NINTENDO ahora si a darle uso diario a mi Nintendo Switch.

    Want some good doses of dopamine? This game will make smile all the way through. Not just only that, but it is another crowning anchievement for the super mario series and a must buy for thr switch owners. Spend around 20 hours getting through the ending and after that I still have loads to do!

    I have already done 4 kingdoms and I have to say that this is the most impressed I have been with a Super Mario game since Galaxy! There is originality everywhere! The new capture mechanic is fun, inventive and keeps the fame fresh. Like BOTW, the openness Is mastered beautifully and full of delightful distractions from the main quest. Love the character customisation as a neat additionI have already done 4 kingdoms and I have to say that this is the most impressed I have been with a Super Mario game since Galaxy! I've beaten Mario Bros. 1,2,3,lost levels, Mario world, Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Mario 3d world, the new super Mario Bros DS, Wii, and U version, 3d Land. And this game tops them all, but it's inspired by a little bit of all Mario titles.     This is worth a buy, and no it isn't your average Mario game.

    This game is phenomenal, with its bright colors and new theme to the Mario series, this is easily a Game Of The Year nominee. I love how it has Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy and, Super Mario 64 vibes with these games being open-world settings.

Super Mario Odyssey es genial , es un buen viaje a la infancia con enemigos , personajes de captura , música , y niveles que no se veían desde super Mario bros de NES y el paso a los 8bits dentro del mismo juego fue divertido y llamativo .Es un juego que no te obliga a hacer todo en orden , te da tu tiempo para que explores muchas zonas , conozcas otros personajes o simplemente solo te dediques a coleccionar prendas de vestir y gorras , es un juego muy completo dentro de su mundo y la narrativa que esta tiene sobre la historia , es totalmente algo nuevo y para nada un juego totalmente fácil ya que tiene sus retos y su desafios que puedes completar con pensarla una segunda vez ya que es un juego pensado para niños y adultos y como todo adulto lo jugue en su modo normal , ya que poseé un modo ayuda que esta hecho practicamente para ayudar a los mas pequeños y que no pierdan horas y minutos sin saber que hacer, graficamente es muy atractivo y me sorprendió bastante en este aspecto ya que en la tv y en el modo tableta se ve increíble , ademas que la musica y la banda sonora y más aún en el final del juego te hace sentir que estas en una de esas películas o series de anime donde el final la música y la escena que aquí es jugable , se roban el show .
    Lo único malo es que esperaba un juego más largo ya que con 15 0 20 horas a tope jugando lo completas , al menos su historia por que el juego tiene bastantes cosas que descubrir sobre todo luego que pasas el final ya que te permite ir a otro lugar y el modo 2 jugadores es un complemento divertido de hacer aún que le faltó más protagonismo al 2do jugador.

That being said, the moment i bought SMO to the moment i got to the end credits, this game gave me the same feeling i had from way back then when i played SM63 and sunshine.     Odyssey is full of charming references to the past, and just as full of bizarre new surprises.
    This game is not just a strong GOTY contender; for me, it´ll have to combat Bloodborne itself for game of the decade. That´s how incredible this game is.

I have played for roughly 10 hours and I am already 125 moons in, and I have barely scratched the surface. Secrets upon secrets paired with fun mechanics and amazing worlds to explore make it one of my favorite games of all.To me it has felt like a reinvigorating mix between the Best of the Super Mario games and a bit from a bunch of others (namely Banjo-Kazooie and Sonic the Hedgehog). True, some of the motion controls are a bit too sensitive, but you can either lower the sensitivity or turn them off, so that shouldn't be a deterrent.     Seriously an amazing game. Probably one of the best Switch games so far. It brings back the memories of previous 3D platform era mario games and adds more. The visualls look great and I have not experienced any issues. There's not to many kingdoms but each kingdom is so vast and has so much to do and explore theirs no need for any more. Overall a very good and fun Mario game.

    Ok, en realidad el inicio puede llegar a sentirse lento pero no por ello aburrido, para los que hablan de dificultad, a excepcion de "Lost levels" y algunos niveles (la carrera perfecta o el camino del campeon por ejemplo), los videojuegos de Mario nunca han sido especialmente dificiles, lo que se aprecia es el valor de rejugabilidad que estos tienen, apartado en el que Oddyssey resalta de una manera titanica, tal vez las lunas sean mas faciles de conseguir que las estrellas o soles de los niveles previos pero estamos concientes de que no son 10 o 20, son probablemente mas de 50 o 60, podemos comprobarlo cuando partimos de un nivel con 30 lunas y tenemos el conocimiento y la sensacion de que no hemos terminado con este.
    El gameplay, es unico, nunca habiamos tenido uno tan variado y es de reconocer el trabajo que conlleva crear una forma de jugar para los diferentes enemigos que es posible capturar.
    Los graficos, son muy buenos y no estan para nada pixeleados como dice la mayoria, el rendimiento es bastante bueno, aunado a los tiempos de carga de menos de 5 segundos.
    El hype creado no esta infundado, no sabria decir si es mejor que Galaxy 1, 2 o Mario 64 pero si podemos aclarar que es un videojuego digno de un 10.    … Expand

    By the end of the game, I was in tears, and I was applauding at the end credits. There's not much I can say about this game right now, because I am still in shock. Razor tight controls, fantastic level design, and the spirit of Super Mario 64 and Sunshine. I just can't say enough good things. It was worth the 9 month wait.

    There oftentimes feels like there’s no great way to describe Mario: sure, we could call Super Mario Odyssey a collection-based 3D platformer, but something about that comes dreadfully short when trying to capture the spirit of a body-hopping hallucinatory ride through a series of increasingly strange kingdoms populated by sentient utensils and top-hatted rabbits.     There oftentimes feels like there’s no great way to describe Mario: sure, we could call Super Mario Odyssey a collection-based 3D platformer, but something about that comes dreadfully short when trying to capture the spirit of a body-hopping hallucinatory ride through a series of increasingly strange kingdoms populated by sentient utensils and top-hatted rabbits.     This game is one of my favorite games of all time because of it’s new mechanics which i absolutely loved, although the story of kidnapping peach is kinda overused, Nintendo tried to change it up a bit with the wedding of bowser and peach wich works great for the game.
    In conclusion if your a gamer wanting a new and fun experience pick this game up, you’ll not regret it

    What a superb game. It reminds me of the great Super Mario 64. Super Mario Odyssey is basically Super Mario 64 part 2. The graphics, the gameplay, the levels, the funny easter eggs, I like them all. I played it together with a 3 year old, and we both like it a lot. Highy recommended!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Super Mario Odyssey is by far the one of the best games created on Earth.
    Almost everything in this game is perfect; Exploration, Customization, Collecting and more.
    There only a few things that could be better like; Story, Difficulty and length of the game.
    But there so much more you can do after defeating Bowser.

    a beautiful visual art with fantastic worlds to explore, a tribute to the whole saga mixing new elements with old ones in addition to many more surprises. 2017 was an excellent year for video games and    Super Mario Odyssey can only be described with these words:
    gameplay, fun, variety, replayability and extensive durability for those who really want to see all the content of the game.

    Simplemente el videojuego que mas e disfrutado este 2017. Muchas sonrisas me a causado al poder ver a mario con diferwntws diferentes vestimentas. Y aparte el reto de encontrar todas las lunas lo vuelve un juego muy competitivo. La musica es genial. La jugabilidad extraordinaria. Nintendo como una y otra vez demuestra que no todo en los video juegos son solo graficos, para lograr hacerSimplemente el videojuego que mas e disfrutado este 2017.     While it was difficult to imagine how Nintendo could top previous 3D Mario adventures, Super Mario Odyssey is nigh-on perfect in almost every way. With the help of Cappy, Mario has never been as fun to control, reaching new heights and, in the hands of a skilled player, accomplishing impossible skips. You need only pick up a controller to see why this is the best modern Mario game ever.

    The best entry to the best platforming series is so ridiculously huge it’s like a theme park made of theme parks. It’s a wonderful tribute to Super Mario 64, but it’s not a lazy homage. Super Mario Odyssey draws inspiration from the superb classic to top it and everything that came after it. [13/2017, p.38]
