Great level designs and awesome boss battles. Levels are structured in such a way that we are directed directly to the power and back to unlock the new path. The map is such a complicated maze but handled in awesome way that we get a sense of accomplishment each time we find the correct way.

I played the mainline games just to have a background before playing this, and it exceeded all expectation. I keep coming back to it from time to time. Good closure to the story, amazing gameplay and battles. The controls are so smooth. It's just a ton of fun.

It's very atmospheric, the art, sound and music are authentic and immersive, if you want a real challange like hollow knight but more streamlined and elegant this is a great game. Metroid is an important franchise because like Mario and Zelda it has a very unique formula which no other game can emmulate or has succesfully emulated, and like those games it takes its game design seriously, maximising entertainment and treating the level design as more of an art form than just a space for the game to exist in, like it has been specifically designed for you.

If you want that feeling helplessness, danger and isolation and of being all alone while surviving the dangers of an Alien planet this is for you. Absoloutely incredible game design, it's Metroid.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Love this game. It’s level design is superb and it is the only game that I’ve replayed immediately after initially beating it. Only flaw I find with it is that the only way to usually go is forward. There were moments in which I was very happy to get a power up because I could access an area I remember not being able to, but then realize I can’t go back there yet because it is now blocked off. Apart from that, I believe this to be the best game I’ve played of the last 5 years and I hope Nintendo keeps supporting this franchise. Expand

Speaking ofI want to start out this review with a bit of a warning; this game is hard. That said, I never felt frustrated during my playthrough of this game. The difficulty is fair and fun, and that is coming from someone who doesn't usually enjoy playing difficult games. When you die on a boss for the third time in a row, it doesn't feel demotivating, it encourages you to try again. Speaking of difficulty, the main premise of this game is the E.M.M.I. Zones. In these sections, you are stalked by rogue robots that want nothing more than to kill you and extract your DNA. You pass through these zones quite often, and every time it fills you with a sense of dread (in a good way), hence the name Metroid Dread. From the way they move to the ominous beeps they make, they are easily the scariest part of the game. Did I mention they can hear you? Nowhere is safe when you are in an E.M.M.I. Zone. Although these areas are a central part of the game, you won't spend all of your time there, as a majority of the game takes place outside these zones, with them acting as a hazard you must travel through to reach certain areas. Moving on to the rest of the game, for the first half of the game, everything is shrouded in mystery. As you traverse the vast, underground facility, you uncover many strange things, some of which are never explained. It isn't until later in the game when the story really begins. Even then, the game starts out by giving you bits and pieces of the story, leaving it up you to figure out what is going on. The controls are great, although they take a little bit of getting used to. Samus unlocks tons of unique abilities throughout the game, but it doesn't feel like a fetch quest like it does in some other Metroid games. I would recommend using a guide as little as possible, as a large part of the fun in this game is exploring and finding things on your own. All in all, I would say this is the best Metroid game that I have played (Although the only ones I have played are Prime, Fusion, and Super). If you have never played a Metroid game before, this is a great one to start with, and if you are already a fan of Metroid, then you will surely love this game. I hope this review was helpful to at least one person. Expand

A decent and fun way to tie in the other Metroid games into a cohesive story line. There isn't anything terribly different from this and other 2D Metroid games in the gameplay department but it is polished and feels nice. Combat and boss battles are decently difficult without being annoying and there are plenty of areas and challenges that help this game live up to the title of Dread.

Gameplay is extremely polished and satisfying. The boss fights are some of the best in the genre. The art, animations, and environments are all very beautiful. The game does a great job with guiding you through the map without being too linear. Backtracking always felt natural. This in direct contrast with Hollow Knight which I felt was too long and too open, often times traversing the map or figuring out where you should be started to feel like a chore in the late-game. Dread was just about the perfect length and did not overstay its welcome.

    The bad:
There are pacing issues. The game starts off slow, which isn't unusual for the genre, but the time between unlocking new abilities was really long for quite a while and then all of a sudden when the game opens up they start getting fed to you at an overwhelming rate. There were also quite a few mini-boss enemies that were re-used way more often than they should have been. Soundtrack is too safe, and leaves a little to be desired. The Emmi sections can be hit or miss. Most of the time, I enjoyed them, but there were 2 that I did not.

Last note I didn't pay $60 for this game, maybe if I did, I would have been more critical with my review, but oh well.

Controls are very snappy and fun, Samus controls wonderfully. Though I wish the game actually detailed how shinesparking works, because it is necessary for many optional collectables and it is never properly explained.

The story will definitely satisfy long-time Metroid fans, especially when it comes to the ending. I only wish the game was a little longer. It has an appropiate duration for a 2D Metroid game, but an additional area (ideally with an extra major boss) would have gone a long way for me. Finally, the music is kind of forgettable (sadly), but the graphics are exquisite and the framerate is silky smooth (60fps). Easily one of the best looking Switch games. Overally, Dread is a masterfully crafted Metroid title that sits comfortably among gems like Zero Mission and Fusion (Super Metroid is still better IMO).

Games that are too easy or you rarely ever die might as well be a movie. I love a challenge.

My only complaints that keep it from being a 10 are:
    - The controls for the shinespark ability are very fidgety, and simply don't respond sometimes, even if you do them as directed
    - Tutorials teaching you how to use new abilities disappear right after you learn the ability and can't be dug up later if you need a reminder (or if you can, I couldn't find it)
    - Reskinned enemies and repeat bosses (or same but multiple this time) take the thrill out of it a few times. It's not terrible in that regard, a minor nuisance, but it caused me to growl a few times.
    - I guess the heavily text-based intro is a throwback to the side-scroller Metroids this one is based on, but it's the 2020s and let's be honest, a well-made cutscene would've been nicer than paragraphs of exposition and backstory.

It really just nails the metroidvania formula and has that familiarity of the similar powerups to Super Metroid. Plus the game looks phenomenal. The controls are super tight - except the aforementioned space jump, but thats tradition at this point. It can get VERY difficult at points, but I really felt that I was able to get better each time I died and replayed the same boss. It felt very satisfying to finally defeat it, and didn't feel cheap or overly frustrating. Also I never looked at a gamefaq until I finished the game. That's rare as even the best games have that one spot where you feel stuck.

its only a 9 if you rly enjoy metroid games, and ONLY a 10 if you are a little unreasonable or dont see the faults of the game as faults.
likewise, this game is hard sometimes, so lower then a 7 is unreasonable also

    in general the middle ground would be 8 - 8,5 - 9

ive played metroid games for 20 years now, and i have played majority of them.
ive finished 100% items and the full story

here is my thoughts, i will spoil stuff, so read with caution

    --------------------------------------------------

first , this game fixes SO MANY of samus returns flaws its rly nice.
if you have complaints about SR you will see majority of them fixed here. trust me.
SR was to me a 7 /10 MAYBE an 8 if you are a HARDCORE fan.

    things it fixes

    -you can skip cutscenes
-free aim is fixed and is MILES better then SR MILES
-WAY less repeating bosses, and those who repeat are basically elite enemies
-no enemy that leaves the room
    -speedbooster
-crossbombs solve multiple bomb blocks, and you dont stand around waiting bomb by bomb anymore
-controling samus endgame isnt as taxing as SR where you have to fuse ur hands with the 3ds to play
-you dont have a mandatory perfect run, as you did with that one diggernaut hunt where you just have to
    nail it or die
-game looks pretty good, its clear and very smooth
-its actually difficult, its not busting ur balls like some other metroidvanias, but it sometimes it can get
    close
-melee counter isnt restricting you anymore and feels overall way better
    -there is some depth here

    ----------------------------------------------
things i want to return in future games

-storm misssiles, flash shift, cross bombs, scan pulse need all to return and become a staple of
    metroid games
-keep elite enemies, its nice having BIG enemies in the maps that are not boss enemies, just big
    and impressive
-multiple ways to beat the bosses
-sequence breaking needs to stay, and get a LIL bit expanded upon
-the challenges to get missiles and health where decently difficult, and i would like more of this
-i liked the amount of voice acting, it was rly rly nice, even samus talks in a respectful way, keep it this way
i rly enjoyed that, though it can be a lil more too from samuses part
-the map is interconnected, and that was great, EXEPT that 1 area in ghavoran, you can only go back to
the other half with a teleport to another map, then walk it back up, which is a big why.
    - recharge stations that replenish ALL energy and weaponry

---------------------------------------------- what i want improved upon -the ending is just ending... i feel there was a samus adam conversation here we needed desperatly like we had in fusion, this might be one of my biggest gripes with the story. i have unanswered questions about the end, and i needed them in this game. -more improvements to the melee counter, i think you need to look at DMC 4-5 royal guard, you can block EVERYTHING, that is something we need too, if its an attack, you should be able to counter it. even if its a projectile, and i dont even care, make it hard. royal guard in dmc in general is some realy high skill **** just keep it optional -more hidden and secret abilities like, i wish we had 2 secret bosses and 1 secret puzzle that unlock more stuff this can be rly hard, and could also reward some op **** examples diffusion missiles ( fusion), super missile beam combo, more flash shift dashes, screw attack flash shift an addtional beam upgrade, ball booster from the prime series to move faster in ball form, spiderball -additional content in hard mode, i think hard mode should maybe change some things up above i said give me secret bosses and abilities / puzzles, you could add them and new map pieces at some point, only in hard mode or fusion mode -fusion mode.. -speedbooster was nice, but i hate that is has to be activated, let me choose to have it always active or having to activate it. it was annoying to press that button all the time. shinespark could have less charge time, in other games you just shinespark a bit faster, it was less dramatic. -let me do my own button layouts, please. perhaps implement other metroid game controls as options to play. that be nice. -the game almost felt a little to clean and lit up it works for the emmi zones but next time have maybe a few more old dark abandoned zones that are filled with dust. so the air feels thick. i was missing this. ------------------------------------------ if i had to discribe the game then its much more fusion then super metroid. i hope now that mercury has cracked the code, next time they do the 10/10 we are so close to perfection,

While it lacks some atmospheric elements that all other games have in the series, it is the best-feeling, best-controlling, well-mapped, logically-consistent game in the series. Metroid Dread is very well done, but it has a few faults. I like that the game is hard, but is very fair. It offers no difficulty options which is nice since that mean I can't wimp out of the challenge. The game rewards being good at it. But it's also not too hard to be good at it. That would be fine and even helpful, but it sometimes limits your ability to explore. Also the EMMI's are a bit of a let down. Not to say there is no tension. But I am a complete wimp at horror games and yet I didn't find them scary shortly after encountering them. There are also hardly any punishment for being caught. But it is a little scary to hear there beeping in the distance at least. I wouldn't say this is a total pick up. It just that it's 60$ and may not be for everyone. So maybe consider this one with caution. But it is going to be a good time if you do. Expand

Stunning presentation and superb controls. Sound design is second to none. My only gripe is the over reliance on the EMMI mechanic which can be a little repetitive. It would have been better with a single EMMI who stalks Samus throughout rather than EMMI "zones''. Also the kind of AI used in Alien Isolation would have been perfect here. Just wow. After Metroid Prime and a decade of 3D games of all genres, I would‘ve never thought that a 2D sidescrolling plattformer releasing at the end of 2021 would be worth 60€. The story is also deceptively endearing. Simple and only a few lines of dialogue are uttered in the whole 10 hour runtime, but it does enough to make you sympathise with this gaming icon in a way other games have tried and failed to.

My only real criticism is the lack of memorable songs in the soundtrack; but that is very unfair considering the backlog of this franchise and how legendarily diverse it's music has been. Not to say there aren't any good music tracks, most of it is serviceable to good, just nothing as impactful as Prime or Super.

And that is refreshing considering many modern Nintendo games shy away from challenging the playerbase.

My biggest gripe has to be the music as the OST seemed to be tacked on as an afterthought. Nothing came close to standing out like "Kraid's Lair" or "Brinstar Depths". The story was also told as an exposition dump towards the end of the game instead of slowly feeding it to you over time and I thought that could have been better handled. Without these features addressed, I cannot give Metroid: Dread a 10.

All in all, a huge round of applause for MercurySteam. I hope to see more of their work in the future and more games starring Samus Aran!

Some people said the game is too short for a Metroid Game, but I think it has to do with the Map, in the first Metroid we don't have Map, in Super Metroid, the map was there but was not detailed. The map is very useful to know where you are at any time and know exactly where to find things like power stations, elevators, save points, etc and that make the game a little more "easy". For someone how played Metroid Samus Return for 3DS, may know exactly how useful is having this kind of map and how much may reduce the difficulty of the game, but if you don't wanna use the map and play Metroid in the old way, you can do it just don't open the map and that's all.
The E.M.M.I. s in this game make you escape in the zones where you can find it, and they will make you see the GameOver message very offen, but since they are pretty fast, space from them is very satisfactory.

Un must have pour ma part.

Also there's lots of advanced mechanics for those who'd like to dive deep into the game. One thing I didn't like is that Dread is much more linear than other Metroids. Lots of one-way gates that simply discourage exploration. And that's a very bad thing in a Metroidvania...

On the lead up to Metroid Dread, I played the previous installments in the order of Zero Mission, Super Metroid, Fusion and Returns, less than 3 weeks ago for the first time, my introduction to the genre was Hollow Knight and then played both Oris.

I’m personally tired of the Metroidvania discussion, I’m not here looking for a checklist on which to box a game, I’m here looking for a game that’s enjoyable and good to play and Metroid Dread ends up being that and my favorite of the 2D series.

The controls are immaculate with most actions at fast reach, the movement is fluid, the powerups contain both some of the best classics and some new and fun ones where you can see the progression of what Mercurysteam did on Samus Returns. The game is intense, especially the beginning and bosses are challenging but not overtly so like in Hollow Knight.

The game is inbetween Zero Mission and Fusion in terms of linearity, allowing you to explore a fair bit but always giving you a north.

The atmosphere is tense, more son than Fusion and the music reflects that. The compositions were crafted for this environment in brilliant electronic fashion. Although for many (including me) there weren’t so many of the classic themes, it is by no means a bad OST and while playing it blends in seamlessly with the game.

The story is much more present than in the previous games, with text and cutscenes that make you more invested in what you’re playing through.

The map, although in the beginning overwhelming, tells you literally everything you need to know, every door and cube you’ve interacted with is noted by the map which is fantastic, a filter option would’ve been nice but I personally didn’t need it.

Graphics didn’t disappoint, I read that it played worse docked and I can’t attest to that after playing on 32” 1440p 144hz LG Monitor I have nothing but praise for the visual department. However I will note I had the game crash on me once during an elevator, loading screens were severely FPS laggy and near the end there was a fight in particular where I had some noticeable frame drops
The pacing feels great with no powerups being too near or far apart, at the same time the initial progression is really interesting as to which upgrades you get first, gaining some of the classic upgrades felt much more rewarding than in most other Metroids.

My biggest complaint ended up being the E.M.M.I, the first 2-3 are fine but the ones after are a pain in the butt and feel tedious and gimmicky.

    SPOILER AHEAD
    -------------------------

Halfway through the game they deactivate the remaning E.M.M.I and I felt that it was the perfect time to get rid of them only for them to be reactivated soon after, I hated it, felt like a chore downing the last ones.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Metroid Dread ends up being the most enjoyable of the 2D series, with great controls, graphics, world and sound design, boss battles and pacing. Glad to say Mercurysteam didn’t disappoint.

People are complaining about the graphics. The graphics are fine. The art is actually beautiful. The animations are so well done they remind me of the first time i played the original Prince of Persia or Flash Back and seeing the rotoscoped animations. Dreads animations are site to behold at a rock solid 60fps in game.

Play control is tight and fluid.

Music is subtle where it needs to be and nostalgic and epic where it needs to be . Perfect.

People who complain about how linear it is haven't played it . That is just a fact. The game is a perfect hybrid between Metroid 3 and 4. It does funnel you to where you need to go on a set path when it needs to, but also completely opens up and lets you explore to your hearts content in between big moments. I honesty don't know how they could have done this any better than they did. It is near perfect.

The challenge is much higher than previous 2D entries but , its also 2021 .Games are just harder now and to be honest i feel like if it was any easier people would be complaining it was too easy, so I think they found a good balance. Tough but fair.

Too be honest the only thing that is keeping me from giving a perfect 10 is some questionable save location decisions where a part of the level will close off and not allow you to back track to a save point for a bit , and sometimes that is exactly when i want to save. So I'm forced to play for a bit longer than i want for that session to find the new save point. That does get annoying.

Other wise as a long time Metroid fan I couldn't have asked for a better sequel after waiting 19 years, and it is definitely one of the strongest games in an already amazing series. Buy it .

Each boss fight was innovative and gave a thrilling challenge, with each failure only strengthening resolve to try again and do better. In both terms of story and gameplay, this game truly feels like what the franchise has been building up to in every sense of the word. The best part of this amazing package is without a doubt is its use of cutscenes which perfectly blend the subtle storytelling Metroid is famous for with intense cinematic experiences. Metroid Dread really pushed this franchise to new heights, and minus a few minor gripes here and there, I can say without a doubt the entire experience was near perfection. Expand

Masterpiece. When i saw the first gameplay footage i was a bit skeptical, looked a bit soulless like a mobile game, but none of that is true. It's absolutely amazing. It's a challenging game, but not too difficult. The music and atmosphere are great. And i love the switch between 2d and 3d graphics. I could highly recommend this game if you're into this type of game.

Also the game was never ment for casual players so I'm glad they stuck to there guns on difficulty, and not joined the participation trophy gaming trend.

There are spots that do feel unfair - but the game autosaves just before you enter them, so there isn't a whole lot of lost progress (though, having to replay cutscenes is annoying, even if you just have to hit [+], [-] to get past 'em.

There's also very little music and, while that does lend to the atmosphere, I found myself missing it.

Those two minor issues is the only reason I don't give it a 10. Still, amazing entry in the series, and absolutely worthy of being a Metroid.

Besides some of the bumbling critics and players, who aren't very good at video games to begin with, everybody will find that every single section of the game flows smoothly back and forth between locations. The designers knew exactly where to put doors and blocks for you to find them after getting new power-ups without ever shoving them right in your face. I have limited experience with Metroid games, so it's not as if I knew what to look for already. It was so difficult to put the controller down as I kept wanting to get the next power-up, then beat the next boss, then find the next area, and repeat.

Credit isn't given enough to the enemy designs in this game and how well Mercury Steam and Nintendo did with them. Regular enemies, the E.M.M.I., the mini bosses, the bosses, and then on top of all that, they found a completely sensible way to make the easy enemies on past locations more difficult to face when you return later in the game. It impresses me to thing about how much perfect planning must have gone into this game to make it as fun as it is to run and gun, discover and adventure in Dread.

It sounds like I'm praising this as the perfect game right? So why a 9/10? Well, it's 2021 and video game writers should be putting a little more effort into making the story something we can connect with an understand. The story in Dread was interesting when mentioned, but rarely ever progressing. I suppose it's difficult in a 7-9 hour game to pack more than 30 minutes of story content into it, so I'm not even sure myself how this could've been improved.

Another thing to mention about 2021 is that the video game industry has made it acceptable to release broken and unfinished games and sell them at a $60 price point. Nintendo still has you to falter and accept this low standard, and it has to be commended how hard this game was worked on to make such a complicated formula accessible to everybody immediately at launch. One of the Switch's best library additions to date.

Dread was everything I wanted in a Metroid game. Some people are hating on it, and maybe it isn't for you, but do take zero scores with a very large grain of salt because their is undeniable quality here.

    Pros:

-Tight controls with intuitive options. Old Metroid games are still very good (just replayed ALL of them), but some of the negative reviewers are smoking something intense if they think Super Metroid (way floatier than your dumb kid self remembers) or Fusion (thanks for eating my jump inputs on Nightmare!!!) are better on this front. Things like using the grapple beam or wall jumping are just so much less stupid. Too many people take pride in the old way, but making a basic function hard is a dumb way to pad difficulty.

-Solid graphics given the limited hardware of the Switch. Environments look great, and lighting effects create an awesome atmosphere.

-Difficulty: The REAL reason most negative reviewers are upset. This game WILL kick your ass. Typically, I don't go in for harder games, but there is a reason I make Dread one of my exceptions...

-Game respects your time and effort. I can't tell you how much this increased my enjoyment. Sure, enemies are tough, but checkpoints are super forgiving and each time you fight a boss you feel yourself getting better each time (much like Hades). Also, backtracking is minimized over other games in the genre via intelligent map design and power up placement. I can't get into games like Dark Souls or Hollow Knight because the you-die-you-go-back and BS trap deaths just make retrying bosses such a chore. The final boss in Dread took me at least 5 tries, but each time I was getting better and actually enjoying the fight more rather than getting tilted.

-Cool use of existing Metroid Lore and an interesting continuation of Fusion. They focus on the Chozo a lot more, just like in Prime, which I always prefer.

-Not the strongest music score in the series (the Primes games still rule IMO), but it's mostly original which is a breath of fresh air from getting Nofair remixed for the millionth time.

    Cons:

-Difficulty: Even though it hit the sweet spot for me, there should be an easy mode for those who want it.

-Not much in the extras department. I keep wanting Metroid games to have some kind of post game of more extensive gallery and Dread unfortunately doesn't break this pattern.

-I wish they'd have a bit more courage with voicing Samus. She's not entirely silent, but a little more out of her would be nice. I know, I know, we all hate Other M (I don't, but understand it's very flawed), but I wish the Metroid series would take a LITTLE more chances in regards to story telling. Somewhere less than OtherM, but more than classic Metroid.

-Some of the melee counters feel VERY strict. I felt this was the only "cheap" difficulty because some are required--you can't fail and just shoot certain bosses to death.

To each their own, but I loved Metroid Dread. I feel it's a great modern imagining of a classic formula.

Metroid Dread is definitely one of the hardest Metroid games in the series and sometimes it left me downright furious sometimes because of the constant deaths from the EMMI encounters. But once you actually get the arm cannon power to destroy an EMMI it is deeply satisfying. Once I killed my first EMMI I screamed at my TV in excitement. Something I haven't felt since playing Demon Souls on the PS3.

Each area of Dread feels like a new path each and every time. It kept the overall game fresh all steps of the way and I never got bored going into each new area. It was genuinely fun to explore each and every area to find new secrets. I was a bit disappointed to see that the scan pulse from Samus Returns didnt make it into Dread but I feel that without the scan pulse it encourages the old "bomb the floor and shoot everything" approach at finding hidden breakable blocks just as we did in older Metroid titles.

Another thing I should mention that this is the first Metroid game to run at 60 frames per second since Metroid: Other M on the Wii. And it is a sight to behold. The gameplay itself runs at a solid 60FPS at all times. But cutscenes are capped at 30FPS. Otherwise the games performance is rock solid in both portable and docked mode.

My final thoughts are if you are old or new to the Metroid series you will enjoy this game either way, But newer fans might be a bit confused on the lore if they decide to play Dread first. Luckily the games initial opening cutscene catches you up from what happened in Fusion so you aren't completely left in the dark. It does a decent job at explaining the Metroid DNA fusion with Samus among other things. Just go out and buy it, this game had the same quality as other Nintendo titles and feels right at home in any collection.

I got a noticeable framerate drop just once, on a boss fight, which made it harder than it should have been but nothing too weighable.

    2. The level bosses and EMMIs are fantastically rendered and animated both in the 3D preview and during in game combat. The AI of the level bosses (and especially the EMMI's) is a significant upgrade over prior Metroid games.

    3. So far the map exploration is a mix between linear progression and open world. There are areas that you enter from one point but can't leave via the same path. The closed backward paths serve as a sort of a guide indicating you are headed in the right direction to advance in the game.

    The so/so - meh:

    1. The jump in difficulty when entering the EMMI areas is significant (probably too much so).

    2. The travel between level cutscenes are bland with a grayish blue background and Samus frozen in place. Some background music, Samis humming to herself, something to break up the monotony would have been a good polishing touch.

    3. The map graphics look dated like something from Super Metroid - bland and not very sharp (see Ori and the Will of Wisps for something more detailed).

In a world with lots of cinematic narrative games, Metroid Dread was a breath of fresh air. At times brutal, but never unfairly, the game will challenge all but a gaming savant. Living up to its name, entering EMMI zones definitely inspires a sense of dread, and the boss fights and hidden items will test (perhaps aging like mine) reflexes.

The presentation of the game is stellar, and after the character assassination of Samus in Other M, Dread finally presents one of gaming's leading ladies in a way befitting of someone who is billed as an intergalactic badass. Despite running on the Switch, the game looks aesthetically pleasing and for the most part runs at a smooth framerate. The music could be better, and while serviceable isn't very memorable. It lacks the melodic punch of past entries. It's the sole reason I didn't award a 10.

Don't be mislead by How Long To Beat times: displayed run times don't count restarts. It took me a weekend of solid binging to finish the game. The timer showed around 9 hours. And now that I've finished it, I want to go back and play it again. In some ways, it's ruined other games for me. I've had so much fun playing this, feeling like a little kid again, that I don't want to look at other recent affairs. Truly one of the standouts of the year for me, and easily one of the best games on Switch.
