    I WANT MY MONEY BACK...I bought the game, and I finished it. I have and I finished also the lou1 remastered and lou2. It is the SAME GAME WITH NO CHANGE AT ALL. I don't see any difference. I regret buying it and I feel stupid for giving 90 euros with no reason. I don't see any difference even in graphics. It seems completely the same game like lou1 remastered.     Look, if you've played this already and aren't happy with the visual fidelity at the steep price then simply don't buy it.

    Other than that, it's really really good and definitely worth the price if you haven't experienced this amazing story yet.

    We all know story of TLOU 2. Love Joel, best character in the series. Anyway, TLOU 1 Remake offer a much improved gameplay, awesome upgraded graphics and accessibility, much better A.I and so on.

    Es un juego increíble, su historia, su diseño artístico, los gráficos de última generación, el desarrollo de personajes, las mecánicas del juego demuestran que Naughty Dog está a otro nivel en la creación de videojuegos, muy merecido este Remakes para esta gran saga para los nuevos usuarios de PlayStation 5.

    This game is the beat remake that i ever see,Big and cool work of new men in Naughty Dog.This game has a lot of new.Like Physics of Carpet,new assets of guns,new "people" in Ellie,Jorl,Tommy,Genry and Sam,Maria.I think that metacritic must check if the gamer who mark a game on metacritick!I minus it's price,but then remaster is realised it was 50$ cost

    The original game was a 10/10 but since the gameplay in the PS5 version is exactly like the original and all you get are slightly improved graphics (not even mind-blowingly better, just moderately better) I don't see the price vs value as being worth it. This is a below-average game because the remake was pretty lazy.

    This game was a 10 on the PS3 and it still is even more so a 10 with updated graphics, optimizations, and 3D audio for PS5. This is one of the best games I've ever played. The story alone is top notch and so good that HBO picked up the series for 2 seasons and maybe more. I have never played it fully until this remaster and it's absolutely incredible!!!     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As per usual(and expected) Metacritic is abused once again as an outlet for the disgruntled who think anything they dislike is automatically objectively bad. I have seen dozens upon dozens of "bad reviews", literal 0's from people who state that they have not played the game, just complaining about the price, and even a random review from someone complaining that the PC version isn't out yet(how the hell does this warrant a 0!). This remake was controversial to say the least and I expected nothing less considering TLOU tends to have a fanbase that on one end is rational and appreciate the depth and effort put into the series, and on the other end a ton of manchildren who think any little thing they do not like warrants a 0.

    This remake is a 9/10 for me, the visuals are among the best I've seen on the PS5 thus far and indisputably better than the original by a significant margin, the environment design is flat-out insane and makes exploring, combat and other activities much more immersive when the places you traverse actually have interior and exterior character. The lighting, shadows, reflections, foliage, vfx, etc. all help to make scenes vastly more dramatic and realistic. I was constantly jaw-dropped at how good many of the scenes looked, and to think that this was all gameplay too. The cutscenes are no longer pre-rendered like the original, they're fully rendered in real time and my god do they look insanely good. The facial animations, body animations, character models combined with the visuals through the components I mentioned before make cutscenes incredibly more emotional and vivid. There are scenes where the performances of the original did not get through whatsoever that are restored in the remake, a big one I can think of is the introduction, where the scenes like Tommy blocking the door to buy time for Joel and Sarah, or Joel holding his dying daughter are already well-done performances even further improved by the facial animations of the remake that the original simply is no competition for. You can see Tommy's fear in that introduction, whereas he looked dull and emotionless in the original. What helps this all as well is the amazing sound design carried over from TLOU2, Naughty Dog really does have some of the best sound engineering in the industry and the world's sounds just play out realistically in all of the environments you come across, whether it be inside of a tunnel or in an empty alleyway. Take all the emotions you had in the original and amplify them, that's what the remake does.

    The post-game features are great. Things like added achievements that were not in the original, speedrun mode, commentary, visual filters, game effects, custom skins for Joel and Ellie, getting to replay it with all your weapons, etc. make the game extremely enjoyable beyond just 1 playthrough.

    Why not a 10/10? Mainly because of the gameplay. Do not get me wrong, this gameplay is great. It actually mirrors a ton of the smooth gameplay we saw in TLOU2 in everything from the much-better AI, gunplay. updated infected like the way more terrifying new clickers and stalkers, gore, the physics that react to you shooting, throwing bombs, etc. and the overall fluid motion of it all. Things like the updated UI and workbench keep things clean and manageable. What I found to be kind of a bummer is the lack of dodge and prone. I get why Naughty Dog didn't implement them, as to stay true to the original(no, it's not laziness. After everything I've seen in this remake, lazy is the last word I'd characterize any of it with), but it would have made the gameplay much more exciting and intense. A big part of why they didn't include it was because the environments of the original did not suit these features, but since they visibly seem to have rebuild these environments, I don't really see why they couldn't have made minor modifications to the environments to implement these features. I also noticed the lack of small details that made me love TLOU2 like the enemies calling out each other's names, and while the callouts in this game corresponding with actions does work much more smoothly than the original, names would have been a great feature to include.

    Overall, this is a 9/10 for me and is by far the best way to experience this game. This is the best way to experience the series as a matter of fact because the game is designed for a smooth transition into TLOU2 thanks to the updated character models and small story details, as well as the UI and general gameplay. TLOU2 will essentially be the same gameplay but with added features instead of remapped or removed ones. I understand why most people do not want to pay $70 for this. For $70, players like me who have not played in many years or new players should honestly pick it up. When this goes on sale though eventually for like $30-40, I suggest most players to get this, absolutely worth it if that's the price for the majority of players.    … Expand

    a pointless adaptation, sad to see the path of play with this type of game, the first one a jewel the second remastered made with an obvious intention but this remake only shows the worst moment of the console for generations, the game simply and simply is what same as last time, I could even say that visually some things look worse, really sad

This isn't even a remake, it's a re-remaster. Where is ray-tracing? Where is the multiplayer? Why isn't there a first person mode? How about enhancing the gameplay? Oh that's right, all of that stuff actually requires hard work. One developer claimed there was no crunch in development. This whole "anti-crunch" stuff is just an excuse for developers to be greedy and lazy. I'm getting sick and tired of game journalists and SJWs encouraging these developers to become even lazier. How dare I expect hard work for $70, especially in a so-called remake.

    For goodness sake, why are the developers so obsessed with adding wrinkles onto every character. Enough already. They even go as far as to add wrinkles on the kids. Tess looks nothing like Tess. She literally looks like my next door Mexican neighbor in her late 50s cosplaying as Tess. Tommy looks like Prince Charming from Shrek. Marlene looks like Michael Jackson. Ellie literally looks like the Will Smith fish from Shark Tale. Lazy developers copied and pasted TLOU2 models, rather than improving the OG models. Ellie's lip syncing during her first line in the final cutscene of the hotel was awful and PS2-quality. That is embarrasing for a PS5 only title. The story is the typical arty farty "I'm so miserable" plot with cringeworthy dialogue. The soundtrack sounds like it's straight from a PBS documentary. The physics and AI are beyond horrible. This cash grab was clearly made for the upcoming off-brand Walking Dead show viewers to pay more.

    It boggles my mind how Naughty Dog rarely gets called out for greed when compared to other greedy developers like Rockstar and Ubisoft, even though ND are much greedier. Let me remind you that this is the same greedy company that had pay-to-win microtransactions in TLOU factions. They added loot boxes in Uncharted 4. I thought gamers hated loot boxes. They removed the multiplayer for all Uncharted remasters and charge full price, and now they have the audacity to cut out the multiplayer for this trash and charge $70. Imagine a "remake" with less content costing more than the original at launch. To make matters worse, these greedy developers had the nerve to make $80-$100 editions of this "remake". It's pathetic to have deluxe editions for remasters. Had this been EA or Activision making all these greedy decisions, the narrative would've been so different. Speaking of Activision, they only charged me $20 for MW2 campaign remastered. At least Activision understands that cutting the game in half means lowering the price.

    As I mentioned earlier, there's no multiplayer. So once you beat the story, there is literally not a reason to play this game again. Charging $70 for a game with no replay value is a cash grab. These lazy developers tried justify the lack of multiplayer with pointless new clothes. It's pathetic that they brag about finally being able to add different clothes in cutscenes, even though other game studios have done that 20 years ago in a PS2 console. What's even more pathetic is that they brag about the useless permadeath mode and speedrun mode as new features. Yeah, because I totally can't just use a timer app and quit in any game after dying. Seeing how ridiculously long it's taking these developers to give me TLOU2 multiplayer, I am going to have high expectations for that stand-alone multiplayer. You better not disappoint me Naughty Dog. Then again I can't imagine how predatory the MTX will be for online, seeing how the greedy developers will obviously use it as a fundraiser for their AAA games, after seeing TLOU2 flooded in the bargain bin. Ellie has a cringeworthy face on the cover of this game. It doesn't help that her head is tilted downwards with that stupid ponytail. This made me remove the cover paper off the game case and rip it into pieces. I don't recommend this poor excuse of a remake at all. Just wait until it's free on PS Plus. You know you're greedy when you make EA and Take Two look like saints in comparison.

    The Last Of Us is one of the greatest videogames of all time. This is the most useless remake of all time. It's literally available in the PS store why would you do this? Also, charging $70? In my country it literally costs half a minimum wage because of Sony's lack of price converting. This is just ridiculous.

Follow the issue with below average enemy AI, plus follow Elly's AI Deus Ex Machina is still invisible to spores and infected in firefights, getting stuck on tables, walls and stairs or staring at a wall and staring into space in the midst of a dangerous scene. New camera angles were promised that are not there, new mechanics are not there (maybe they will come with a patch)
    It does not have multiplayer like the PS3 TLoU

    The PC game just doesn't work, it closes, crashes, doesn't load, it sucks!!! I want my money back and STEAM says that since it took 2 hours to ask for a refund, we are not entitled, the game takes 2 hours just to start and load the shader! A shame

    Jesus, the cries of people screaming "review bomb!" whenever anything from Sony releases in a **** state sickens me. I love how a legion of Sony Ponies actively encourage this downward trend from the company when they should really be criticising them for dog**** ports and getting Sony to get their heads out of their asses and fix their games.

    TLOU series are among my favorite of all time. This game updates the graphics of the 2013 masterpiece...to PS4 graphics. I have to say I was disappointed at times that this is the exact same game but better looking. Built from the ground up for PS5 is just a lie, cause this game has just the same graphics of TLOU2 but with worse AI. I am completely sure this game is capable of running on a PS4.

I love the 50 year old man who owns me with the suckable toes (Jooooeeeeeeeel) and his dead daughter. The game is so heartbreaking especially when Joel sucks Bill's dick for that shotgun. The game is hard to play with 1 hand cause I am beating to Joel's thick ass. 10/10 would recommend.

    I am not against remakes, but they say part 1 remake is fully developed for PS5, yet I don't see the difference between it and between part 2 lol! The remastered edition was good and well priced! It was fun but not worth 70$ and definitely not worth remaking -_-

    My first time playing through the game. I've been setting it asside to play the PS5 version. Amazing game and story. Very addicting and engaging plot. One of the best IPs from a story telling perspective. There are cheezy moments like when we find out about Bill and his partner. Was that really necessary ?     Even though the $70 price is completely unjustified, the PS5 remake of The Last of Us makes the core game from PS3 to shame. The main differences is of course, the visuals, graphics, no multiplayer, and the trophies being more easier than ever.

    Technically this PS5 version is a great addition, although the console is still not powerful enough to run the game at native 4K60, full price is unacceptable, however Sony knows that there's no competition at this point for such quality narrative AAA experience.

    Let's be clear, as far as stealth options are concerned, you get to chose between throwing a brick, or a bottle, that's it. There are no exciting environmental opportunities to leverage, no interesting situational obstacles to deal with, and boredom sets in as, you deal with fairly identical situations, over, and over. Think of Uncharted, with extra boring interruptions, walking sections, and with the fun action bits removed. They also got rid of the puzzles too since you now get to play with bricks and ladders.

    The crafting and looting is competently handled, but there is really nothing in terms of gadgets or skill tree worth praising above and beyond the competition.

    And that's my problem, in the light of all of these observations, it is difficult for me to accept the praise the game has garnered. Maybe an exceptional scenario and plot could have justified the praises, but considering how cliche and predictable the story is, it is that much more difficult to reconcile myself with its critical success.

    Yes, the acting, music, presentation and production value was a cut above the competition, but as far as 2013 release games, I can think of so many games that easily outclass The last of us in terms of game and level design, pacing, mechanics, and player agency. Games such as Tomb raider, Blacklist, GTAV, not only did more, but they did it better - and if we wanted to draw a comparison with a game that more closely resembles the last of us, Spec ops: The line was the more successful of the two in realizing its story-telling ambitions.

    The last of us remains a moderately enjoyable game, it does have a few saving graces in terms of scenario and game-play (like the hunting sandbox at the beginning of the winter chapter), but it is far too repetitive and limited in scope to be considered anything above the best the competition has to offer. It is also worth noting that 2 of Resident evil 4's most memorable, fun, and iconic game-play moments were "borrowed" by Naughty dog, though not as well executed as in Capcom's masterwork.

    As a videogame, The last of us only truly excels at mimicking what has previously been done better on film and TV, yet does very little in terms of intelligent design, and interactive story telling    … Expand

Your enemies can shoot for days but only drop 1-3 bullets when you loot them. Arrows break every other shot. Shivs are constantly breaking because there are apparently no knives left in the world (even though Ellie has an unbreakable switchblade). Some enemies can take multiple rounds to the head. There is an over abundance of QTEs. The clicker enemies are the most annoying as they are way overused.

    The writing borrows heavily from The Road, 28 Days Later, and TWD. The characters are all unlikable, especially Joel. He reminds me of Rick, and yells “Ellie!” almost as much as Rick yells “Carl!” There is almost every post apocalyptic trope known to mankind: paramilitary groups, mutants, and cannibals. Yes, cannibals in a world that is full of game and canned food.

    All in all it’s an okay game, but nothing you would want to play through multiple times. If you want a truly enjoyable experience with top notch gameplay, stealth, and adrenaline fueled combat encounters try Days Gone.    … Expand

    Uno de mis juegos favoritos de todos los tiempos, si la versión original ya era una obra maestra, este Remake pone a otro nivel la experiencia de juego, ahora se siente la cohesión entre Part I y Part II. El remake no tiene grandes cambios en cuestiones de gameplay, pero ahora se siente más refinado y con los ajustes mínimos pero necesarios para hacer aún mejor la experiencia, desde losUno de mis juegos favoritos de todos los tiempos, si la versión original ya era una obra maestra, este Remake pone a otro nivel la experiencia de juego, ahora se siente la cohesión entre Part I y Part II. El remake no tiene grandes cambios en cuestiones de gameplay, pero ahora se siente más refinado y con los ajustes mínimos pero necesarios para hacer aún mejor la experiencia, desde los nuevos gráficos que dotan de más dramatismo las actuaciones y expresiones, hasta los nuevos extras como son las nuevos modos de juego de muerte permanente y speedrun, además de los agregados cosméticos y de accesibilidad.     The game is a cinematic experience that could make a rock emotional, offering newcomers and seasoned zombifiers alike the chance to experience that jaw-dropping, heart-pounding feeling. [Issue#322]

    As much as we love the skeleton, the way it’s been built upon here feels like a missed opportunity. The chance to incorporate Part II’s stellar gameplay evolutions into the original heart-wrenching story was there; had Naughty Dog taken it, it could have been a game-changer. Instead, this feels like an obligatory reshoot. Yes, it’s visually stunning (one of PS5’s best), and yes, things have been changed. But the end result? Too familiar. Neat extras are here, like a speedrun mode, behind the scenes videos, and commentary tracks – but we’d hoped for something bolder. [Issue#19, p.74]

    The original The Last of Us will always be my favourite PlayStation game. The narrative is amazing, the relationship between Joel and Ellie is wholesome and it all culminates into a satisfying story that will bring tears to your eyes. However, I do not recommend the remake. Even though there are extensive graphical enhancements, 60FPS support, DualSense support and a variety of accessibility options, none of this justifies the admission price. And, above all, there was really no need for this remake, the original is perfect as it is and available on PS Plus. Skip it and wait for a fat discount if you are keen to try it.
