    If you have played the original or remastered you are just in for an upgraded treat and a simple platinum. Naughty dog did this game justice and it feels good to play a favorite game updated for the new console.

    I am rating for the original TLOU game here for a 10/10. It would be incontrovertible for TLOU to have a high praise. Well for the Remake, the graphics are still wonderful, but there’s nothing more content than the origin. And 70 dollars may be a little bit too expensive for a Remake like this. After all I had nice time with this new release.

    One of the best games of all time. In my life I’ve never played a game with such great acting, animation, sound effects and graphics. The game is just so well thought out that after I finish the game I’m left thinking more about it. This game rivals stories told by movies and tv shows even.

    I know it’s easy to say this game didn’t need a $70 remake and while I’m 50/50 on that topic, I’m in the minority on playing the original Part 1 AFTER Part 2, so a lot of the improvements of Part 2 were missing from Part 1, which harmed my initial experience with the Last of Us (more on that later). Overall tho, I was very open to the idea of Part 1’s remake from the very first rumor of itI know it’s easy to say this game didn’t need a $70 remake and while I’m 50/50 on that topic, I’m in the minority on playing the original Part 1 AFTER Part 2, so a lot of the improvements of Part 2 were missing from Part 1, which harmed my initial experience with the Last of Us (more on that later). Overall tho, I was very open to the idea of Part 1’s remake from the very first rumor of it existing since everything except for the story of Part 1 felt outdated to me personally. I’m glad to say it’s a complete upgrade in nearly every single way compared to the original! Losing the multiplayer is a downside yes, but it’s not like I ever played Factions or planned to anyway.. The only 2 issues I can think of is yes, this game shouldn’t have been $70, I would’ve been much more comfortable paying $50. The biggest issue I had with this remake is that it didn’t incorporate any of the combat improvements from Part 2, still no dodge button! Sigh, missed opportunities. The rest of the package was incredible tho, the graphical improvements are AMAZING. It’s up there with the Horizon games visually. I really love the DualSense haptics too, I can’t go back to any other kind of controller tbh. The story is still immaculate as always, the new facial expressions really did make more of the emotional moments hit harder than in the original game. Overall I really enjoyed the experience, Naughty Dog successfully made the gameplay experience feel modern and new, and I’m very much looking forward to Part 3 in 2037!… Expand

    It's extremely overpriced so i kind of understand low reviews for this one, but as a Remake, it seems to be very well done. Can't wait for the PC release, because that's the only version i care about.

    masterpiece. easily in my top 3 games ever. really 10/10. dropped it a point cause they did joel dirty on this cover. hiding him away in ellie shadow making him look small/secondary. ND hates joel now it seems and dont realizes fans loved both characters not just ellie. i bought it half off otherwise i'd think i spent way too much for the 3rd time buying this game. glad they never made amasterpiece. easily in my top 3 games ever. really 10/10. dropped it a point cause they did joel dirty on this cover. hiding him away in ellie shadow making him look small/secondary.     We all know it is the 3rd version of the first TLOU game, but we needed this beauty in Next-Gen consoles.

    Pros:
    > Gorgeous storyline as usual
    > Graphic design and audio design so much better
    > Interactions with the new Dualsense are completely worth it

    Nice Remaster. A real rediscovery. The immersion of the TLOU II graphics engine makes the experience even more enriched. I would so love a collector's version of The Last of Us. Maybe one day ?

    This might just be the greatest game I've ever played. I've decided that since I have a ps5, I need to start playing all these games I didn't play as a kid when they were originally released. One of these games was the Last of Us. Since the release of the TV Show I wanted to play the original game before watching it. So much better than I've seen from other games this year like God of War and Hogwarts Legacy (But I am aware these games are all very different from each other in their production). I haven't played the second game but I absolutely want to now. I really just bought the game to see what the hype was about. But after being annoyed by the 50 dollar price, I realized that with the one that I bought, I got the Left Behind DLC with it, making the price range a bit more worth it. But even with that large price. The thing that really sold the game was the story and game play. I won't go too deep into the story because I don't wanna spoil it. But if you're looking for a game with good story, buy the game. If you're looking for a long-ish game with a lot of fun content in it, buy the game.… Expand

    The value of the game is very low compared to the money paid.
    I recommend playing this game when it's half off or free.
    Almost everything is the same as the previous game.
    If you buy the game for the price now, I'm sure you will regret it like me.
    If you subscribe to PS Plus, you can play THE LAST OF US REMASTERED.

    After each section I just want to put the controller down and not continue. New room, same **** And after a couple of hours that's what happened and I never looked back.

    I would of given it a higher score but I ran into a few bugs that let me down. I fell through the map a few times. I also took the removal of factions into account. Given the price of £70 I expected more. Hopefully in a few patches I can come back and give it a higher score

    A reskin of an old game that’s already remastered is not deserving of a good review. It’s replayablity is subjective but definitely not worth my time.

    This is just like how Disney is remaking all their movies from the 90s into live-action.
    You can literally play the PS4 version on your PS5 and it still looks and plays great.
    The Last of Us should have just been the first game and the remaster that soon followed; the story there left off at a chilling ambiguous point that never needed to continue on.     Rebuilt from the ground up but it is not really. Only graphics upgrade and character skin changes. No multiplayer, no prone,no dodge and 70$ for all of this which is just a mod pc players could have make for free. They also changed Jerry and the fireflies to make them look good

    It's sad to see that even a reputable studio like naughty dog has become just another greedy company exploiting their fans with another remake of a decades old game for $70. If people keep buying these gimmicks these companies will keep releasing the same game every couples years, it wont be financially worthwhile to make anything new.

    An overpriced unnecessary remake of a game that already received not only a remaster but a 4K update that can be played on PS4 Pro and PS5. TLOU was already overrated to begin with but anyone praising and supporting remakes like this is only doing harm to the videogame industry and encouraging developers to be lazy and uninspired.

The story had some heart to it, but it feels like it was written years ago. Graphics were phenomenal, but high end graphics don't make a game.     The best definitive version of the game, simple as that. The graphics, AI, animations and characters are realy well done. If you play TLOU1 and TLOU2 it will be amazing expecience.

    What an amazing remake. Honestly if you loved the original this will blow your mind in how beautiful it looks and how much better it plays. If you’re a newcomer… enjoy this masterpiece. Naughty Dog are the best in the industry. Hopefully they make a part 3.

    I played the original on PS3 as well as part 2 and rated them both as 10. Sorry only have 0 in stock for this cash grab. If you have a writer's block that's understandable, but if you have it together with acute greed crysis - it's not.

    One word “Overrated”. Mediocre story, uninteresting characters except for Joel, slow outdated gameplay, mo-cap acting in some of the cutscenes and dialogue lines are atrocious, overcooked facial animations make the characters look ugly and weird.. don’t believe the high scores. The game is seriously overrated.

    Anyone referring to this as a remake needs to research the difference between remake and remaster.
    This is the second remaster of this game. Repackaged for $70.
    Naughty Dog is trash and has no originality left in the tank.

    Look the game is great and the graphics are almost photo realistic. If you never played TLOU its a great buy. For €79,95 its a terrible package however. With less content than the (€59) PS3 and (€39) ps4 games this game is a blatant rip off on a very loyal fanbase, don't support it! My wife purchased this for my Bday as i am a big playstation/game fan but i felt bad she paid so much for it

    Actually worse than the original game. Yes this remake looks pretty but the gameplay has been completely butchered. Joel takes twice as long to do everything, making him feel sluggish and unresponsive. Swapping weapons, aiming, crouching, picking up items, climbing over ledges are all noticeably slower. Guns have much slower fire rates and there are a ton of ledges and objects you couldActually worse than the original game. Yes this remake looks pretty but the gameplay has been completely butchered.     Melee combat is straight up broken, extremely common for Joel to lock on to an enemy when starting his Melee animation only to completely whiff or the enemy simply doesn't get staggered, especially apparent when doing a sprint Melee on a clicker with a weapon (this usually gets u killed as a result).

    A handful of mechanics from Part 2 have just been haphazardly thrown into this remake without any thought, (I like part 2's gameplay a lot, but that game has completely different balance and mechanics than this game) and some minor mechanics from the original have been taken out. A lot of balance decisions just feel off, like they were made so they could say they made changes from the original game even if they were for the worse. Ai is far smarter and more aggresive (Again I assume to be more like Part 2's) which should be a good thing but with Joel being nerfed to hell and far slower to control, the game on harder difficulties ends up being far harder then the original but in a way that is far more frustrating than fun. Game is also far buggier than the original, it's obviously been awhile since I've played the og game at launch and some of this stuff will but patched, but it definitely feels like I'm running into more bugs then the og or remaster at launch.

    I know I'm literally the only person in existence who likes Last of us 1 for it's gameplay but at the end of the day this $70 remake is supposed to be the definitive version and it is anything but. Definitely don't recommend until they patch some of these issues along with a severe price drop. Unfortunately I assume some of these decisions were made to make Joel feel more "realistic" so probably won't be changed. Very disappointing.    … Expand

    Full price for another remake... This is not needed or wanted. I want a new game, I already own the last of us, and can play it whenever I want. Small updates are not worth my time and certainly not worth full price.

    As much as we love the skeleton, the way it’s been built upon here feels like a missed opportunity. The chance to incorporate Part II’s stellar gameplay evolutions into the original heart-wrenching story was there; had Naughty Dog taken it, it could have been a game-changer. Instead, this feels like an obligatory reshoot. Yes, it’s visually stunning (one of PS5’s best), and yes, things have been changed. But the end result? Too familiar. Neat extras are here, like a speedrun mode, behind the scenes videos, and commentary tracks – but we’d hoped for something bolder. [Issue#19, p.74]

    The original The Last of Us will always be my favourite PlayStation game. The narrative is amazing, the relationship between Joel and Ellie is wholesome and it all culminates into a satisfying story that will bring tears to your eyes. However, I do not recommend the remake. Even though there are extensive graphical enhancements, 60FPS support, DualSense support and a variety of accessibility options, none of this justifies the admission price. And, above all, there was really no need for this remake, the original is perfect as it is and available on PS Plus. Skip it and wait for a fat discount if you are keen to try it.
