    While the price for this remake is high there is no way that this game is objectively a zero like many other people are rating it. Everything has been completely redone while still remaining true to the original experience. However, by far the largest change is the adjustments to AI. Playing through on hard difficulty, the game is much more difficult due to the AI improvements. In 2013 Naughty Dog was limited by the technology of the time on PS3, but now with this PS5 remake they were able to fully reach their original vision for TLoU. The Last of Us Part I shows what The Last of Us would’ve been like if it released in 2022 instead of 2013, and it’s beautiful. The added accessibility options are incredible as they allow more players the ability to play this game, because some people might not have been able to play the original game due to the lack of accessibility options at the time, so this remake definitely justifies its existence for many reasons. This remake keeps the same amazing story, performances, and soundtrack as the original, while improving every other aspect of the game. The Last of Us Part I is the definitive way to experience The Last of Us, the graphics, attention to detail, sound design, gameplay, AI, UI, character models, accessibility options, and more are all way better than in the original and remastered versions of the game. Also the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are awesome, they definitely add more immersion to the game, same with the 3D audio. It’s funny how people are reviewing this remake without even experiencing the remake for themselves. And people who claim to be “fans” of the original are giving the best version of the game a 0/10 which makes no sense, if you think it’s too expensive that fine, but that doesn’t justify giving the game a 0, plus the Demon’s Souls remake was also full price so why wouldn’t TLoU remake also be full price? If you’re someone who’s thinking about getting this game please only listen to the reviews from people who have actually played and completed The Last of Us Part I remake, as someone who completed it I think it’s amazing and worth it.     This was my first time playing Last Of Us. I just got a PS5 and I initially started to play the free (older) remastered version, but it was clear that the old graphics weren't going to do the emotional performances justice. I wanted to get the best experience during my first playthrough, so I dropped the cash on this and I'm so happy I did.

    The performances were spectacular. Such an emotional story. The environments were lush and beautiful. And I loved it.

    Only down sides for me were the fact that the infected felt like an afterthought. Every time I encountered a bunch of them I would dread it because it just felt like filler between me and the main storyline. But fortunately there weren't too many huge encounters so I didn't feel like I was pulled away form the story too long.

    All-in-all one of the best games out there. Good mix of stealth and survival.    … Expand

    Last of Us Part I is so so good man, they improved a-lot of things from the PS4 and PS3 version. The game looks incredible and I am very happy to play this masterpiece with amazing visuals man. However this game should be cheaper and it is definitely not worth $70 but if it is on sale I highly recommend getting. I’m very glad this wasn’t like GTA Trilogy and how buggy it was.

    Is the same experience from the original game in 2013, but better in all aspects. Sound design with the Dualsense is gonna give you a really good sensation while playing.
    Honestly, if you played the original before, wait for a sale, because Sony decided to charge a 2013 game at full price for some reason XD.

To be honest its not full remake to me , of course there are several upgrades but nothing changed in gameplay/story and whats bad is Factions was removed .     Graphics are amazing and gorgeous, visuals are the best and stunning. The story, sound design, graphics,... everything is great and I love this remake. I highly recommend who hasn't played it yet and who played remastered or original and wanted to experience the game with new graphics again.

    When watching videos and comparissions on YouTube, it might looks the same, but when you play it, it's feels like a different game. It's just a thing that you can't judge before you play it. There are also a lot of new gamplay mechanics, such as when you shoot someone in a leg, and you can eventually grab them while they are down, and there a lot of different small details added, such as a full info about Joels date of birth and etc. A lot of work went into it, not less than in a remastered. These remake took as much working hours to make, as some tripple AAA games which are released and are piece of... you know what. The price is based due to a PC release, where the game launches for the first time, and it will not be fair for a PC community to pay more for a newley released game, first time on a platform, if it would've costed 40 bucks on PS. No one makes you buy it, if you have previouse version, and I'm 100% sure that the game will be released in PS Plus Extra during the year, so there is not necessity to run and buy it on a first day for 70$ if you already own the copy and played these game a few times. I did pay full price, and I Don't regret it, cause in the end of the day it's a masterpiece, and it's a great pleasure to see it graphically and technically upgraded to enjoy it again. As I said before, the release price doesn't matter, it comes from the PC release, cause in the end of the day, why would you sell a masterpiece game that releases first time on the platform that was nearly completely remade, for cheaper, than people, who exclusevly got the platform to play it at that time for full price. For everyone else who played it, or has PS 4 Versions, no need to hurry guys, you already played it, and I'm sure you will get the game for free in PS Plus in couple of months. I enjoyed every aspect of these remake, or remaster, call it whatever you want, and blaming Sony for the price, that is clearly based like these due to a PC release for a first time is OK, but it's not OK to react over the top for it, cause you are not forced to buy it on the first day of release.… Expand

This game was incredible for it's time and it was given a very good remaster for PS4. This so called remake just does not need to exist, and repeating the phrase, 'Rebuilt from the ground up' over and over in every bit of marketing is not convincing anyone that this it anything other than a graphics overhaul. Yes it looks slightly prettier and has some improvements to enemy AI but that's about it. It still plays the same, which at this point does make the game feel a bit dated. They've even managed to create some new bugs that didn't exist in the original! so i suppose that's something new. As gamers we need to look at the bigger picture and boycott these games and stop pre-ordering. if we don't we will continue to get remakes of remakes at full new game prices, And we will still get half finished buggy disasters like Cyberpunk, Saints Row, Days Gone etc. The only thing companies like Sony etc understand is money. Depriving them of your money is the only way to make them change. but if we all keep paying these prices and pre-ordering, they know they can just carry on doing what they're doing because we're too stupid to say no.… Expand

    If you’ve never played TLOU, get the remaster as it’s the same game but much cheaper but if you need these accessibility features or prefer haptics in the controller….. wait for the sales!!

    The best became even better! Graphics are better than Part II! 3d sound is amazing. Haptic feedback really adds to experience. Playing in 4K 40fps mode and it’s just so gorgeous! 3rd time Im finishing this story by now but it’s still most memorable and rich experiences in entertainment!

    A soulless cashgrab from a creativley bakrupt company. The second time they have remastered the game game, only now with less features (no multiplayer).
    The "remastered" character models are uglier, too.
    Gameplay is still the same as 10 years ago and it shows. None of the impovements from TLOU2, despite charging the same as a brand new game.

    Wait for the super duper PS6 version.

    As much as we love the skeleton, the way it’s been built upon here feels like a missed opportunity. The chance to incorporate Part II’s stellar gameplay evolutions into the original heart-wrenching story was there; had Naughty Dog taken it, it could have been a game-changer. Instead, this feels like an obligatory reshoot. Yes, it’s visually stunning (one of PS5’s best), and yes, things have been changed. But the end result? Too familiar. Neat extras are here, like a speedrun mode, behind the scenes videos, and commentary tracks – but we’d hoped for something bolder. [Issue#19, p.74]

    The original The Last of Us will always be my favourite PlayStation game. The narrative is amazing, the relationship between Joel and Ellie is wholesome and it all culminates into a satisfying story that will bring tears to your eyes. However, I do not recommend the remake. Even though there are extensive graphical enhancements, 60FPS support, DualSense support and a variety of accessibility options, none of this justifies the admission price. And, above all, there was really no need for this remake, the original is perfect as it is and available on PS Plus. Skip it and wait for a fat discount if you are keen to try it.
