    Still the same great game but released for the third time with no significant upgrades in terms of gameplay or content. Graphically impressive but ultimately not enough to warrant a $70 dollar price tag. Advice for first timers? Buy the Remaster for PS4, it’s the exact same game and much much cheaper. Graphical fidelity is not enough at this price point.

    We all know story of TLOU 2. Love Joel, best character in the series. Anyway, TLOU 1 Remake offer a much improved gameplay, awesome upgraded graphics and accessibility, much better A.I and so on.

    Overpriced cash grab. It’s like Naughty Dog thinks any publicity is good publicity. I’ve yet to play Last of Us 2 because of the poor storytelling they thought was ok. Now they pull this. I’m done with this company.

    I give it a 1, for just the core. But the game is a pure cash grab, as it does not change the fundamental gameplay in any meaning way. Yes, this is a remaster, not a remake. However, Sony would like to deceive you into thinking they did a ton of work to warrant the full $69 price tag.

    This wouldn't be an issue if they offered a discounted price for those that already owned previous    I give it a 1, for just the core. But the game is a pure cash grab, as it does not change the fundamental gameplay in any meaning way. Yes, this is a remaster, not a remake. However, Sony would like to deceive you into thinking they did a ton of work to warrant the full $69 price tag.

And they didn't do that for a specific reason, and that's to force you to have only one option; to pay full price once again.     I've completed The Last of Us about 30 times, on both PS3 and PS4. I solely play on "Survivor", which is what I did for my 1st playthrough of the new game.

    After completing The Lasf of Us : Part 1, I can confirm that it's one of the best games ever made. The visuals are beyond what I thought possible on a home console; all the facial expressions add so much to the emotional depth of    I've completed The Last of Us about 30 times, on both PS3 and PS4. I solely play on "Survivor", which is what I did for my 1st playthrough of the new game.

    After completing The Lasf of Us : Part 1, I can confirm that it's one of the best games ever made. The visuals are beyond what I thought possible on a home console; all the facial expressions add so much to the emotional depth of the characters that it makes all of it more believable. The colorations chosen in certain movie scenes are masterful, especially in the "Left Behind" scenario.
    I suggest doing "Left Behind" as soon as you reach the winter chapter, so you'll do the game in chronological order (except for the flashbacks with Riley, of course).

    The controls are also better and the new AI changes encounters in a way that forced me to play differently. I was used to clear rooms the same way each time; I'm glad I can't do that anymore. It's also noticeably harder now. The lighting is changed throughout the game, adding to the atmosphere in the best way. There were more ammo drops too, but not at the very last parts of the game (in the hospital). Conserve ammo for that sequence, or you'll regret it.

    As of now, I'm bingeing the series and am eager to restart Part 1, because it's just awesome! It costs over 100$ with taxes, here in Canada. It's worth every penny.

    The Last of Us Part 1 and Part 2 are my favorites games ever, as of now. Brilliant. Made by adults for adults. It tops all forms of entertainment for me (TV, movies, series, games).    … Expand

    This was already one of the greatest games ever made and now it can be enjoyed by a whole new generation of PS5 owners, I genuinely envy those who get to play this masterpiece for the first time.

    The game is too short and doesn't validate a $70 price tag. Especially, because the game has actually LESS content than its predecessor. This is not a practice that should be encouraged in this industry.

    If you put gameplay and story over better graphics, dont buy this game and just buy the ps4 remaster. This game has nothing to do with a remake. It is just a re-remaster with better graphics.

    This is one of the greats as far as Sony IPs, but the $70 price tag on a game that has minimal improvements and dated gameplay mechanics makes this a hard pill to swallow. I'm not so petty as to give this a 0 as some here have, but this is overpriced and incomplete.

    For 70 bucks I was expecting the gameplay mechanics of the last of us part 2 reworked for the last of us part 1. Like the ability to go prone and the 3 different stages of enemy AI. This is just an overpriced remaster. The graphics aren't that much better than the original. . Wait for a sale

    This remake is incredible. Story remains one of the best in the gaming industry, gameplay; while not significantly overhauled, feels smoother with a few tweaks and the visuals are spectacular, definitely pushing the boundaries of realism.

    Remake of one of the best games in history is not a easy task, but they did it. This is a definitive version of the game you can play right now. The visual changes are incredible along with new facial animations. Gameplay is really similar the main difference is that AI are much more smarter and behavior of enemies is more like in Part II.     Look, if you've played this already and aren't happy with the visual fidelity at the steep price then simply don't buy it.

    Other than that, it's really really good and definitely worth the price if you haven't experienced this amazing story yet.

    I would of given it a higher score but I ran into a few bugs that let me down. I fell through the map a few times. I also took the removal of factions into account. Given the price of £70 I expected more. Hopefully in a few patches I can come back and give it a higher score

    This is the one of the best games ever done, but we don't deserve a 70€ rebuid version, is so greedy... 30€ is ok. We prefer you to invest time and resources in The Last of Us Part 3

    Rebuilt from the ground up but it is not really. Only graphics upgrade and character skin changes. No multiplayer, no prone,no dodge and 70$ for all of this which is just a mod pc players could have make for free. They also changed Jerry and the fireflies to make them look good

    For a 70$/80€ remake, which is more than what the original game cost, we should really be able to expect more than just the bare minimum. This remake has no significant gameplay changes and released with less content than the original game (no multiplayer).

    Overall the graphical upgrades look great, even though I do think, that the characters look a bit strange in some cutscenes. If you havent played the game and playing it for the first Time in PS5 you are in for a treat. Then this comes along for no reason what so ever! In Canada this game is 90 bucks!!!! What are you talking about and its the same game with sharper graphics. The remaster looked incredible and then Naughty Dog goes this low for a cash grab thatOk and I am a huge fan of Naughty Dog and TLOU franchise, HUGE FAN!     I thought I'd wait to review this until I fully finished the story. Although in 2013 this game was truly amazing and like nothing that had come before it. It's now 2022 and games have moved on. the mechanic of this game, the combat, level design and general feel, is stuck firmly in the past. the remake isn't a remake at all. it had not been remade from the ground up like Naughty Dog claim.I thought I'd wait to review this until I fully finished the story. Although in 2013 this game was truly amazing and like nothing that had come before it. It's now 2022 and games have moved on. the mechanic of this game, the combat, level design and general feel, is stuck firmly in the past. the remake isn't a remake at all. it had not been remade from the ground up like Naughty Dog claim. it is 100% visual only. And for a full priced game, it's simply not worth it. My advice to new players is just to buy the last remaster and play that. you'll get the exact same experience and have enough money to go buy something else that really is worth the money. I'd say if you can pick this up for £20 then go for it. better still, just rent this game instead as its relatively short.
    I feel like Naughty dog should have redone all the animations, added some new sections to the levels, or even entirely new levels, anything new would have been appreciated. This is a pure cash grab in my opinion. The new TV show and the fact they barely had to do anything to "remake" the first game means that this experience really should be called "The Least of Us"
    If you want a true example of a remake look at Resident Evil 2, Mafia, Final Fantasy, these are all examples of a company that actually remade the game. Think of this as a £70 reskin.    … Expand

    Graphics are simply fantastic. Great improvement over the original - brings the fidelity and models up to speed with TLOU: Part 2. The cutscenes are especially beautiful. I'm not sure how much the AI or combat has improved, but overall the gameplay is nearly flawless; there are a few gripes that I will get to. I would have liked to see the dodge mechanics or prone from Part 2 introduced toGraphics are simply fantastic.     The Fidelity mode, while gorgeous, does unfortunately still run roughly around 40FPS. For gameplay, I mostly played with Performance mode for the silky-smooth 60FPS at a minimal hit to graphic quality.

    There are a few small gripes with checkpoints, that I don't remember if the original had. One of the things I ran into, was that if you chose to restart a checkpoint manually, or died, you would respawn without the items you used before you died. I'm not sure if this was an intentional feature, but it did cause some headaches with certain encounters. Another was certain checkpoints during certain encounters, would put you in less than ideal positions, that often meant needing to make split-second responses, or it would likely end in a swift death.

    Overall, I'm not mad at the price point. I would have preferred it to be $10 or $20 cheaper, but I feel I got my money's worth. A faithful recreation of the original, and a must-play title in the Playstation catalogue.    … Expand

    Price tag is ridiculous for yet another rerelease of this game. Should be half of what it currently is. Plus the lack of multiplayer being restored is a huge disappointment yet again. Wait for a sale or buy it used.

    O jogo é sensacional em todos os quesitos e o remake é de longe a versão definitiva. Recomendo para quem jogou na época fo PS3 e para quem nunca jogou esta obra prima.

    Bought the PS5 and preordered this game digitally. I knew what it is in store. Played this game on PS3, but didn't expect that much of an upgrade on PS5. Awesome game became just better.

    The facial animations are next level, added with the amazing story and smooth gameplay. $70 dollars is a bit much but in my opinion worth it.

In 2013 Naughty Dog was limited by the technology of the time on PS3, but now with this PS5 remake they were able to fully reach their original vision for TLoU. The Last of Us Part I shows what The Last of Us would’ve been like if it released in 2022 instead of 2013, and it’s beautiful. The added accessibility options are incredible as they allow more players the ability to play this game, because some people might not have been able to play the original game due to the lack of accessibility options at the time, so this remake definitely justifies its existence for many reasons. This remake keeps the same amazing story, performances, and soundtrack as the original, while improving every other aspect of the game. The Last of Us Part I is the definitive way to experience The Last of Us, the graphics, attention to detail, sound design, gameplay, AI, UI, character models, accessibility options, and more are all way better than in the original and remastered versions of the game. Also the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are awesome, they definitely add more immersion to the game, same with the 3D audio. It’s funny how people are reviewing this remake without even experiencing the remake for themselves. And people who claim to be “fans” of the original are giving the best version of the game a 0/10 which makes no sense, if you think it’s too expensive that fine, but that doesn’t justify giving the game a 0, plus the Demon’s Souls remake was also full price so why wouldn’t TLoU remake also be full price? If you’re someone who’s thinking about getting this game please only listen to the reviews from people who have actually played and completed The Last of Us Part I remake, as someone who completed it I think it’s amazing and worth it.     Perhaps the most overrated game of all time is now getting the most overrated and overpriced remake of all time. This isn't a AAA remake like Resident Evil 2 this is just a blatant cash grab with pay 2 win for buying the more expensive editions. Naughty Dog needs to learn some humility and dignity from developers like Capcom who give high quality next gen upgrades for free.

    Just finished the main game and Left Behind. Played the original on PS3 twice, and the PS4 remaster at least 2-3 times. With that said, this is by far the best way to play this game. Even knowing what happens, with the world building, characters, and visual improvements, it somehow felt like I was playing the game for the first time again. The way they have implemented the features of the PS5 in this game blew me away. From the haptic feedback on the On the weapons (especially the bow) to the 3D Audio when I could hear the enemies coming from the sides to the back of Joel and Ellie made this game more immersive. The graphics in this game is one if not the best out there currently. The character models look fantastic the environments are so detailed that makes the game even more interesting to explore. The gameplay improvements are way better than I anticipated. Especially using the gyro aiming in the game. There isn’t much change in the gameplay but the way they implemented the PS5 features (faster loading times, Dualsense, and 3D Audio) make this game worth while. I would recommend The Last of Us Part 1 to anyone new to the series and to those who have played the original. There is so much emotion in the storytelling that I couldn’t stop playing and the gameplay made that journey one of the best experiences that I have had this year with video games.… Expand

    A "Remake" that is nothing more then a Remaster from a Remaster for 70€. Look at Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core where Square Enix even said it will be a Remaster. Sony and ND try to sell the same Game (what is a little overhyped btw.) for a third Time under the Banner: "Remake".

    As much as we love the skeleton, the way it’s been built upon here feels like a missed opportunity. The chance to incorporate Part II’s stellar gameplay evolutions into the original heart-wrenching story was there; had Naughty Dog taken it, it could have been a game-changer. Instead, this feels like an obligatory reshoot. Yes, it’s visually stunning (one of PS5’s best), and yes, things have been changed. But the end result? Too familiar. Neat extras are here, like a speedrun mode, behind the scenes videos, and commentary tracks – but we’d hoped for something bolder. [Issue#19, p.74]

    The original The Last of Us will always be my favourite PlayStation game. The narrative is amazing, the relationship between Joel and Ellie is wholesome and it all culminates into a satisfying story that will bring tears to your eyes. However, I do not recommend the remake. Even though there are extensive graphical enhancements, 60FPS support, DualSense support and a variety of accessibility options, none of this justifies the admission price. And, above all, there was really no need for this remake, the original is perfect as it is and available on PS Plus. Skip it and wait for a fat discount if you are keen to try it.
