    Hugest disappointment of PS5 so far. It's just a crappy game with cool graphics. It's horribly linear, you can't even return to previous points, only where the game wants you to. The control is probably the worst I have tried on PS5, at some points it simply doesn't obbey you.     one of the best immersive gore game i have played, the fighting mechanic is challenging and needs learning, understanding , using the environmental elements, its strategic and the game is a masterpiece, the visual are mind blowing.

    Firstly I'd like to say this is one of the most beautiful games I have played, the graphics are definitely next level. I've played callisto protocol on the ps5 and it makes great use of the controller through dialogue and vibration which for me heightened the atmosphere in the game. Combat is OK.     The Calisto Protocol

    Inicio meio parado mas quando pega a 1⁰ arma a coisa acelera, graficos de cair o queixo, nao tive nenhum crash no game em minha experiencia, combate simples mas funcional (gostosim) variação de inimigos boa e historia que deixa intrigado com Plot e desenrolar super satisfatorio.

    The game is not a masterpiece, but is a very solid game for the ones like me that love this genre 8.5 out 10 in my humble opinion.

    This is a complete scam. The game is technically the worse Ive played in years (janky cam, hits do not connect, glitched loot abs so on), the interaction between the two main persons doesent make sense in a lot of ways and for 70 Euro you dont even get the trie ending becaus you have to buy a dlc for that.

    how is it possible to screw up so much on simply changing weapons in combat? Run with R1 and stick forward and change weapons with the directional pads? but is it stupid? These people haven't even tested their game?

    It has nice graphics, solid gameplay, a great scifi / horror vibe to it, cool weapons and upgrades, ...
    A very cool feature I find the upgrade stations that does some awesome 3D printing, called Reforge Stations.
    Fighting multiple enemies can be a bit tricky.
    My true score would be an 8, but to counter all the unfair,low hate or dislike scores I give it a 10.

    The difficulty... as some people have rightly pointed out, the change in difficulty is not particularly interesting. The only thing it changes is that in hard, all the mobs are very hard hitting hp bags. A higher difficulty isn't supposed to just increase the amount of lives of the mobs... it just makes things more annoying. Oh, sorry, I forgot that what already looks a bit more like a "real" hard mode (less bullets, less healing items, perma death, ...) was another game mode not included with the base game.

    The story is nice and easy to follow but it is very predictable, not very gripping and you don't really feel any attachment or interest towards the characters (at least I do).

    The death animations are just gory and, for some of them, bugged in their animation.

    The combat system is, in my opinion, problematic. The dodging system is a pain as soon as you are confronted with several enemies and the more you advance, the more the enemies are numerous. In the end, the combat phases just become boring. The weapon switch well... you don't switch weapons in combat unless you have 15 meters between you and the nearest enemy... well you can but you'll probably get hit while you're switching the ***** gun.

    I'm more or less halfway through the game and I haven't seen a single boss yet (even though I've searched pretty much everywhere). From what I understand, there is only one mini boss and one end boss.

    The atmosphere is good but it doesn't provoke any feeling of fear, uneasiness, ... it's just gory with regular jumpscares (hello **** mobs coming out of the chests) but I don't have the feeling to be in a survival-horror. This aspect is quite subjective, maybe it's just me who is not sensitive to the fear the game is supposed to provoke but I found this aspect rather disappointing.

    In short, a big disappointment for me and clearly not worth 60 euros. If you can get it for less and you like the genre, the AD and the atmosphere are nice. Other than that, skip it. The game is not worth its price and prefers to make a huge communication campaign than to release a complete and optimized game.

    The commercial policy of the game is more than questionable... hello the season pass bringing two more modes and extra death/kill animations in a 60euros game.

    I personally don't have too many bugs (except for the death animations) or optimization problems (ryzen 7 5800X and 6900XT) but, from what I hear around me, I've just been very lucky.    … Expand

Unos mapas un tanto extraños, una historia carente de carisma y personalidad, es muy genérica y aburrida, el equilibrio de dificultad está totalmente descompensado, da igual como lo pongas (fácil, medio o difícil) el juego se siente igual todo el rato, y es ciertamente complicado porque se limítala a poner enemigos más fuertes y repetir los patronesEste juego está mal diseñado y ya está.     I was really hyped but it's absolut awful. The graphics are very good. It really looks good. But thats all.
    Horrible gamedesign, horrible safepoints, crouching under pipes all the time, the fight system is good but gets repatetive very fast, not enought enemy variants etc . etc. Its not worth 70€.

    The worst game I bought this year, it's total deserves the low Metacritic Score and I hope the director of this game resignes

    I'm 16 hours in, I've done a lot in the game, explored everywhere, killed every bloody thing that tries to get in my way, and it has been a stellar experience, from the graphics, to the fight scenes, the melee combat, the guns. Yes there are some hard areas where you'll have to replay it several times to get through, but the checkpoint system works really well here, you'll never be frustrated when you die and respawn.

    I've played dead space a couple months ago in fact, but not completed it, whether this game is a great dead space sim I'm not sure, but what I am sure is that it's a great game, an incredibly fun experience, and I've enjoyed every second of it so far, exploration, combat and story and all. Don't believe the bad reviews, they either haven't taken the time to enjoy this game or they're just salty it's not dead space part 4    … Expand

Plus, they give you 4-5 other enemies to fight with , while being in a tight ass room without possibility of escape / hide . Added to this, the character CAN’T MOVE . he is very slow and heavy…Sadly, the game Starting to get me very angry at the 3/4 of the game.     En la ps5 va de lujo. Si te gusto dead space este juego sin duda te va gustar. Es una pena que gente le haga caso a estas surrealistas notas y se quede din probar este pedazo titulo. Su nota real es un 8.3

Bosses definitely needed work, but only the first and final boss gave me serious issues. Overall good fun, definitely not as good as Dead Space but not a horrible foundation to work with… Expand

    Die Kämpfe fühlen sich zu langsam und einfach nur nervig an. Keine Ahnung wie man auf so ein Kampfsystem kommen kann. Ist ein Gegner hinter dir, hat meine so gut wie keine Chance kein Treffer zu kassieren. Das ist mein größter Kritik Punkt. Es ist einfach frustrierend.
    Was die hingekriegt haben ist die Atmosphäre, schöne Grafik, tolle Lichter aber leider    Zu viel verschwendetes Potenzial.

Korkutmak için bide jumpscare koymaları.. bide o kadar tahmin edilebilir yerlere koymuşlar ki korkmuyor insan. Oyunun tek güzel yanı grafik gerisi çok şey değil. 700 TL'lik oyun değil 350 fln olursa düşünün öyle alın derim.Oyun Grafik modunda PS5'de 30 fps çalışıyor diyen 30 fps görmemiştir. Great job you guys. Thank god horror is back. Graphics tho flawed are some top notch stuff. Story meh idk forgettable i could say. Voice acting is legit. And performace is meh as well. The first half of the game was intense, and had me very involved. I did enjoy the combat mechanics, especially after upgrading weapons while using a dual sense controller. The experience was extremely visceral. The gore mechanics were definitely impressive.Stunning graphics, incredible atmosphere, intriguing story, brutal combat. My play through was on the ps5, and the game ran perfectly. The first half of the game was intense, and had me very involved. I did enjoy the combat mechanics, especially after upgrading weapons while using a dual sense controller. The experience was extremely visceral. The gore mechanics were definitely impressive. Although, the second half of the game did feel like a drag, and very much so stunted any momentum the game had. Not much variety in terms of boss fights, like in dead space. It was very frustrating to face the same “boss” 4-5 times in the form of the two headed monster. And I did not find the game to be all that scary. In the beginning I had a couple jumps without the scare, but that was really it. All in all, this is a beautiful game, one that I was probably more excited for than anybody. But I feel the game is being held up more by it’s graphic fidelity more so than anything else. I did enjoy the game, and would still recommend it.… Expand

    I bought the game expecting a survival horror game similar to the original dead space as the marketing suggested and although the game is certainly not that I had a blast, despite all the performance issues on day one (which have since been smoothed out), with the fun gunplay, amazing visuals, and mocap performances and pretty decent but unfortunately generic story. All things considered, I found the game both scary and somewhat enjoyable; let's just hope that all this criticism doesn't discourage this new studio from crafting another survival horror masterpiece. The experience I had was more "Batman Arkham" than Dead Space, which wasn't what I was looking for when I bought Callisto. Also, I thought there was a lack of potential for gravity glove, and despite You're being able to slice up your enemies, I found the fights very limited, always very similar and sometimes very frustrating.     While this game is inferior in almost every way to the original Dead Space, I still had an enjoyable time throughout. Atmosphere, graphics are good and the combat at times can be intense, although it doesn't work too well against multiple enemies, and story is very average. While I certainly liked the game, I can understand the things going against it. Probably best to wait for a sale.

In the last few hours of the game you start to pray that you don’t come into an encounter. I enjoy a challenging game, and this game can be quite challenging at times, sometimes unfairly so but nothing that couldn’t be done after a few tries. The death animations are very graphic and lose their flavor after seeing the same ones so often. I was engaged by the story and was rooting for Jacob start to finish. The story isn't really anything to write home about but it's fun and has a great cast of characters who all have great voice acting. To go with this, there's plenty of world building to be found such as the voice records that do a great job shedding some light into a very interesting world. To bring it all back together, I found this a very fun game that I was eager to play more of. It's far from perfect, especially the PC port which is still struggling to run smoothly, but a fantastic game nonetheless.     I haven't finished the game, and experienced it on release with no patch. Initially it was a disaster even on ps5. Sounds missing, crashes every 5 minutes. It was unplayable. The game now after patch 1.006 is spot on. This is my genre of game so I am loving it. If you are into horror games you have to give it a shot.even if you wait for a sale I'd say it's worth it now at full price.

    Combined with the sound it creates a great atmosphere. Levels are mostly linear but I did not mind.
    Story was a bit thin/generic but sets up nice for sequels.
    I would have prefered some more variations in the enemy types. And the combat needs some tweaking to better deal with multiple enemies.

    Runs perfectly. Looks amazing. The soundtrack, story and gameplay make this game well worth spending money on. If it wasn’t released so late in the year, it would be well within the runnings for game of the year… if Ragnarök wasn’t also released this year

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Il gioco soffre dell'inevitabile paragone con Dead Space, e ne é di fatto una versione graficamente più prestante, ludicamente limitata e priva di particolari guizzi.
    Innanzitutto, il gamepley é ripetitivo : cio' che il gioco chiede é di attraversare lunghi corridoi terribilmente simili fra loro e costellati di numerosi tempi di caricamento (mascherati con una quantità spropositata di sessioni in cui é necessario farsi strada tra strettoie), battervi contro una varietà limitata di nemici (direi 7-8) secondo i medesimi schemi : schiva-schiva-colpisci-indietreggia-ricarica-schiva-schiva-colpisci.
    Cio' che non funziona é per l'appunto la schivata, che non necessita di tempismo o destrezza, ma solo di alternare in una direzione o un'altra lo spostamento della levetta di sinistra.
    I colpi inferti dai nemici, cosi' come le loro animazioni, sono sempre gli stessi e quindi prevedibili.
    Avrete inoltre a disposizione un guanto telecinetico per poter afferrare oggetti e mostri e scagliarli lontano.
    Il problema é che spesso, vuoi per la velocità dell'azione, la scarsa luminosità, l'esigua dimensione dei livelli, la camera ballerina, la naturale lentezza del nostro personaggio, visualizzare cio' che accade a schermo é complesso e quindi mirare precisamente é impossibile : per cui vi ritrovere ad afferrare una bombola di gas piuttosto che un nemico, per farla poi cadere attirando cosi' l'attenzione di quest'ultimo.
    O (peggio) afferrerete un nemico tramite il guanto -che funziona tramite una batteria la cui percentuale é indicata tramite una minuscola barra dietro la testa del personaggio- per scoprire solo all'ultimo momento che quest'ultima si é scaricata : avrete cosi' attirato verso di voi il nemico, al quale non resterà altro da fare che colpirvi mentre altri sono in procinto di raggiungervi.
    Proprio in merito al guanto telecinetico, la principale lacuna del suo utilizzo sta nel fatto che, se in Dead Space la corrispettiva stasi serviva per rallentare e lanciare i nemici, rispedire i loro proiettili di carne al mittente, risolvere piccoli enigmi ambientali, qui abbiamo la sola possibilità di afferrare e scagliare tutti i mostri di medie dimensioni più o meno lontano.
    In più, inizialmente al lancio non corrisponde una forma di danno : solo successivamente -e ancora una volta, vai a sapere perché- a seguito di un potenziamento del guanto telecinetico il lancio del nemico gli apporta dei danni effettivi.
    Qual'é il relativo divertimento di questa azione su cui il gameplay si sofferma cosi' tanto ? Rallentare i nemici in primis, e in secudis scagliarli contro pareti chiodate stranamente presenti OVUNQUE, persino in luoghi dove la loro presenza risulta grottesca.
    Tanto grottesca che l'azione, vuoi soprattutto per i motivi elencati, cessa in fretta di essere divertente o appagante.
    Si é parlato molto anche dei nemici e della loro rivoluzionaria intelligenza artificiale : ma é quasi impossibile apprezzarla, visto che gli serve solo per nascondersi in qualcuno dei numerosi cunicoli presenti nel gioco e raggiungerci sbucando da un altro.
    Detto questo, le apparizioni dei mostri sono scriptate e mai casuali : se per i combattimenti principali si potrebbe dire che é una scelta consona, nel gioco incontrerete anche grandi lombrichi carnivori e teste voraci dai lunghissimi colli disposti in angoli ciechi e armadietti.
    Il loro unico obbiettivo é d'innescare un jump scare, salvo che la loro disposizione nel livello non cambia mai, e percio' la loro efficacità sfuma dopo la prima apparizione.
    Persino i checkpoint sono mal disposti: in preparazione di uno scontro con un boss siamo portati ad esplorare (al nostro passo, quindi molto lentamente) aree di gioco già viste per recuperare oggetti ed energia. E ad ogni nostra morte, invece di essere catapultati al momento immediatamente precedente tale scontro, il checkpoint ci riporta indietro al momento in cui la nostra ricerca di materiale deve ancora avere luogo.
    Il titolo é un insieme di scelte di gameplay, level design, elementi di combat system talmente bislacchi che insieme non funzionano quasi mai. Un'esperienza ripetitiva, sonnecchiante, poco intelligente nella sua struttura e anche nelle scelte che propone al giocatore.
    Come se non bastasse, e come già detto, se la grafica é finalmente di altissimo livello, tutto questo ha un prezzo : ovvero quello del riutilizzo massiccio di tutti gli assets dei livelli e perfino del riciclo di alcuni di questi ultimi nella seconda metà del gioco. Si puo' dire che il gioco propone due importanti variazioni di level design, l'ultima delle quali fa sinceramente sospirare.
    Non fosse che arriva a poche decine di minuti dalla fine del gioco.
    Ultimo, ma non meno importante deficit : la trama é prevedibile, priva di pathos, condita da clichés.
    Nelle intenzioni, doveva essere un titolo rivoluzionario, e invece commette errori accademici. Il piu' importante : non fa praticamente mai paura.    … Expand

    I'm not sure how a company could mess up a survival game after creating Dead Space. It's the same ingredients just a different recipe!!! Wait for this game to go on sale. Not worth $70 to buy it. I'm really distraught, this game let down my expectations so hard.

During fights my cross-hair became possessed and i lost all control of Jacob, this also happened during most large/ boss fights. And this became a norm thorough the rest of the game.     The Callisto Protocol has faced criticism claiming it is a "Dead Space clone". Well, after playing it, I wish it was. Truth is, this is some of the worst combat I've ever seen in a modern game. Not to mention, the game feels uninspired, isn't scary in the least, and is full of Uncharted-esque moments that are incredibly dated. The game sucks.

    I thought this would become an issue early on and this was confirmed during the first boss arena. The combat mechanics are garbage - slow and sluggish, making this game incredibly frustrating to play. Absolutely terrible.

    I really wanted to like this game but unfortunately it was disappointing. Checkpoints are annyoing and I don't know who came up with this absolutely clanky dodging System.     Climat 10/10 At PS5 I had not issues with game, sometimes fps went lower than 60fps but it appeared 3/4 times at bigger locations. Game finished after 10hours as for gameplay it's not too short not too long :)

    When I need to restart a level over, in x-times the settings are changed - enemies come from different spots and collectable changes. this is really nice and needs different tactics.     Its a worthy Dead Space 4! in a different way, game-play and setting.
    Its as good as Dead Space 1,2, Alien Isolation, Evil Within and Mortal Kombat in close-up-fights - in a new / its own way.
    Best horror game of 2022.

    I got into the game with no explanation, and i was left amazed with this IP. The gameplay was solid, the story was very interesting, the characters where well written. At first I hate Dani for being so annoying, but later understood why. The graphics! OMG. There's not a game currently out that can compare with the level of graphics this game has. Maybe Horizon forbidden west?

    It looks good That's about it though. Stories of jarring mess in every way. Combat is a glitchy mess. And the greatest sin of all is it's not a horror game in the slightest even though it was advertised as the heir apparent to dead space.

Close combat is interesting and satisfying to use. Enemies are gross. In truth the game is more disgusting than terrifying but it still works for me.

Changing weapon is also slow and confusing, which makes it hard during encounters. But all of this has been patched since I beat the game, so keep that in mind.

    In conclusion, this is clearly Dead Space's cousin, and I think people expected a little brother. i love it for what it is. But it needed a bit more time and testing in my opinion. Were the devs pressured to release the game before the Dead Space remake? One can only assume. i sincerely hope it does not mean the end for the Callisto Protocol because the potential is there.    … Expand

    graphismes au top, ambiance sonore travaillée et irréprochable.
    le gameplay est déroutant au départ mais on s'y fait au bout d'une heure, même si c'est vrai que c'est un peu limité.
    C'est un jeu d'ambiance horrifique avec ses défauts mais pour un 1er jeu c'est franchement très réussi, j'espère une suite !

    The game story is good and the level and map design is beautiful and it plays great in standard mode but the combat is awful even on the easiest difficulty with accessibility options the game is simply almost unplayable when it comes to trying to switch weapons or break away from multiple enemies. Screw this game

    What is wrong with this game?!
    I played this game a few weeks after release because I wanted to wait for the user ratings on steam. The people said it's too bad for what it's cost. So I had to try myself. And now I know what they mean.

    The Story is Just „okay" a 7/10
    The graphics are „fantastic" 10/10 beautiful
    The fighting system is „...” a 0/10

    Don't buy this for the full price pls.

    Callisto Protocol makes some mistakes, but in general computing the good wins by far. It is true that it is somewhat angry to see that something with so much potential has not been fully squeezed, but what it offers is already much more than most. We trust that combat system that we have loved and its setting to make the game worthwhile and we would love to see a second installment.

    A visually beautiful sci-fi experience which, surprisingly, doesn’t resort to simply cloning Dead Space. The difficulty and the fear factor both don’t reach the heights I’d expect, however. A shame! It could have been extraordinary.
