While such an opinion may seem controversial to some, I believe that this opinion does come with a recognition that this came clearly has a lot of love put into it.

Shredder's Revenge seems to me like a great game to play through over a few nights with friends. However, anything it does must stand in the looming, aging shadow of its predecessor - an unfortunate situation to be in, because this is a solid retro-style beat 'em up regardless of what came before it. It adds some new features to help it be something more than Turtles in Time, but it doesn't feel like it did quite enough to really wow me.

It's easy to pick up, fun with friends and takes you back to a simpler time. That said, for those desiring more depth, this is where the simplicity becomes a limiting factor. Combat is relatively monotonous with little real variety, and the hitboxes mechanics are flawed, especially with flying enemies. Decent game. For a while Expand
