It's immerse, polished, and leverages its uniqueness in a clever way. You playing as a cat affects both story and gameplay, and it's overall a fantastic envisioning of the concept.

    Its rough edges like at    I was expecting a somewhat art-house-y experience that small studios usually pull off. But Stray is a full-scale adventure game that I can safely put on a shelf alongside Journey. It's immerse, polished, and leverages its uniqueness in a clever way. You playing as a cat affects both story and gameplay, and it's overall a fantastic envisioning of the concept.

    Its rough edges like at times weird jump snapping and the lack of an on-demand jump are barely noticeable. I also understand the technical difficulty that rises from trying to fix those issues.

    It's a game that exceeds expectations and, what's important, it's a memorable experience and a touching story. As with any great game, its only objective downside is that it ends so quickly.    … Expand

    Игра начинается весьма интересно, ничего не зная об игре можно подумать, что на всем ее протяжении мы будем скитаться по заброшенным выцветшим постройкам. Ходим, ласкаемся с семьей (как гласит описание игры на этом же сайте), но потом падаем в неизвестность без надежды вернуться обратно. Потрясающее вступление, издалека задающее тон игре. После проходим ряд преград, следуя за неким ИИ, чтоИгра начинается весьма интересно, ничего не зная об игре можно подумать, что на всем ее протяжении мы будем скитаться по заброшенным выцветшим постройкам. Ходим, ласкаемся с семьей (как гласит описание игры на этом же сайте), но потом падаем в неизвестность без надежды вернуться обратно. Потрясающее вступление, издалека задающее тон игре. После проходим ряд преград, следуя за неким ИИ, что тоже придает вступлению немало загадочности. После же начала всей истории нас будут знакомить (причем в буквальном смысле) с роботами. В игре хорошо прописана "человечность" этих самых роботов-компаньонов, сохраняя в них "роботность". Все роботы не просто похожи на людей, но еще и хороши как личности, что тоже отлично вписывается в концепцию "Вместо людей - почти такие же роботы". Пусть персонажей и не запоминаешь на всю игру (а только ключевых личностей), но у каждого есть свое поведение, характер, а некоторые даже могут подтолкнуть на смешинку. Отдельного внимания достойна атмосфера, создаваемая эмбиентом и окружением. Позволяет прочувствовать некую безысходность и брошенность в самом окружении. Невероятное умиление вызывает главный, не побоюсь слова, герой. Я не совсем понял, настоящий ли это кот или нет (что можно заподозрить по странно мелькающим в катсценах зрачках), но он понимает речь нашего B-12, который переводит речь остальных роботов, отвечает роботам на их реплики мяуканьем и т.д. Завязка и подача сюжета тоже не на менее высоком уровне. Сама завязка пусть и много где избита, но заставляет задумоца, как говорится. Также хорошо прописан персонаж самого B-12, к которому действительно привязываешься к концу игры. Человечность в нем проявляется правда не особо сильнее, чем в роботах, но с ним мы проводим чуть ли не всю игру.
    А теперь о малых проблемах игры: порой через чур линейно-коридорные уровни, хоть за всю игру нам дают две "открытых" локации (но на них замкнутость чувствуется не так ярко), также в игре присутствуют баги текстур (особо они заметны в катсценах), а также наводка прыжков и т.п., еще пусть это и робо-город, но абсурдности вызывает иногда то, как персонажи где-то и куда-то появляются и исчезают до какого-то момента в сюжете, меняется на измененных таким образом местах что-либо чрезвычайно координально. Лично меня концовка пробила не на слезу, а на целый небольшой водопад. Прошел за часов 5-6 за 3-4 дня. Вывод: игра мне нереально понравилась, могу посоветовать любителям интерактивного кинца, даже в какой-то степени экшена, ну и, конечно же, милоты. (Language - Russian)    … Expand

    The main question of player at the start and through the middle of the game - What happened with humans?And by exploring the world you learn more about it. In this game there is no words ( in our language ) spoken, and this also shows how you can get empathy to the beings even without any speech, only words written and actions.
    Soundtrack completely complements the whole game, with every "search" or "walking" segments the game starts playing themes that completing the sequence. The main theme is amazing though.
    The gameplay introduces us with literally a cat life. You can attach surfaces,sneak in places humans and robots couldn’t, and this game has even a meow for a specific button in controller.Also there lots of puzzles in this game.
    I don’t know what to say more, this game has become very personal to me, ever since announcement. So I thank B 12 and Annapurna Interactive for making such a pleasant,cute and relaxing journey, that brought me to tears in the end of it.

    Extremly enjoyed this game! I got the platinum too and kind off want to play it again a 3rd time. Probs the most relaxing game that came out this year.

    Aside from the whole "You play as a cat!" standpoint, this is an actual game, a very high quality game at that. There are optional tasks, good gameplay and mechanics, decent story and characters, and beautiful visuals and sound design.
    It's a bit on the shorter side, taking around 6 hours tops to beat.
    Definitely a no-brainer if you play it with PS+ Extra.

    Absolutely loved this game from start to finish. Was excited for Stray ever since the reveal and it exceeded my expectations by a lot. It's 4 hours long but the story is incredible. The ending made me cry. When I was playing felt like fighting to meet my family back. And the audio is good as well. Our lovely cat sounds, Robots sounds, and others. Animation is delightful.     This game is worthy of every bit of of praise that it's getting. A beautiful story in an incredibly well designed and stunning world to explore in a very unique way. fantastic music, good controls. All round a fantastic game up there with the likes of What Remains Of Edith Finch, Firewatch, Oxenfree etc.

    Stray was a highly anticipated game for me and it did not disappoint. Even after playing through the story, there wasn’t a time where I felt annoyed while going back to get all the trophies. Wonderful story and environments.

Simple puzzles and story make this game accessible to anyone that wants to enjoy it, and that's the best part. It took 7.5 hours to complete my first playthrough, and I acquired half of the achievements. I spent a lot of time collecting extras and checking in with NPCs multiple times because their dialogue progresses throughout the game. What surprised me the most is that the novelty never wore off, I never stopped enjoying or giggling at getting my head stuck in a paper bag or batting objects off of ledges. I love this game and have really enjoyed watching others play it as well.… Expand

I find myself skipping dialog in a lot of games but in Stray I was actually excited to read what the NPCs had to say. There's a lot of Easter eggs/references to find.     My only complaint is that it ends! What an amazing game for cat lovers. Lots of stuff that cat owners will relate. Good story, very nice gameplay. A very easy and light game that left me smiling while playing.

    The game was great, atmosphere was amazing feels like one of those lofi steams when the cat sits downs and it zooms out, gameplay was smooth and fluid, story was amazing and had me invested loved the lore and wanted more, only downside would be how short the game is would love to see dlc that expands on the city

    I almost never post reviews but I just finished Stray and feel compelled to yell from the rooftops about how good it is. I can safely say that Stray is the first game that left me feeling completely fulfilled so far this generation. It's that rare game that actually gets better and better as it goes along. Little details that start off as just cute cat stuff evolve into actual gameplay mechanics. Sure, simple ones, but it's cleverly done regardless. The world building is Miyazaki level good and you end up forming emotional attachments to the various buddies you meet along the way to the degree that there is genuine sadness when you say goodbye. I'm so sick of 100+ hour games that are good for 15 hours and then expect you to be engaged with their bug ridden mediocrity for another 75 for no reason other than to scratch some obsessive completionist itch. I took a slow and methodical approach to Stray, soaking in the world and trying to see everything, and I finished in less than 10 hours feeling satisfied and wanting more, rather than feeling resentful at it for being a time sink. This is straight up a 10/10 for me and I really hope the industry learns from it and we get more 10 hour games like it, with as much depth. I feel completely comfortable going so far as calling it a masterpiece.… Expand

    Gente o que falar desse game, incrivél e cativante me prendeu do ínico até seu final surpreendente, a trilha sonora dá aquele up top durante a gameplay o protagonista e muito fofo, e a história nos ensina muita coisa como por exemplo o significado da verdadeira amizade e aborda um tema muito importante em relação ao cuido com o meio ambiente.

    Absolutely stunning! I haven't felt this warm and fuzzy about a game since Journey. The only negative I can say about Stray is that it ends, I want to keep exploring forever. Thank you to everyone who thought it would be cool to make a cat sim, cause you were right!

Qualidade de um AAA, em todos os quesitos: qualidade, história, narrativa e som em geral, apenas não é um 10 pois não ouve pelo menos 5 minutos mostrando como foi o final, isso não é necessariamente ruim porque deixa no ar o mistério e a interpretação de cada pessoa, mas em minha opinião pessoal, merecia um finaleste jogo é maravilhoso, todas as limitações por ser indie foram quebradas.     this game is wonderful, all limitations of being indie have been broken. Quality of an AAA, in all aspects: quality, story, narrative and sound in general, it's just not a 10 because you don't hear at least 5 minutes showing how the ending went, this is not necessarily bad because it leaves the mystery in the air and each person's interpretation, but in my personal opinion, deserved a more explained ending. This merit is very scarce in a world full of boringly stretched open world games and FPS which can be fun only for the player and is repulsive for the viewer.     5 puntos por qué se ve muy bien y como todos los juegos exclusivos el dualsense está muy bien manejando , pero es tremendamente aburrido me estaba quedado dormido ya parecen jugadores de xbox cómo está PSPlus y no cuesta ya lo ven bien, verdad que todo lo que no cuesta sabe mejor jajajaja

    Wonderful little adventure game. Loved it. Reminded me a bit of these lightweight adventures like The Touryst or Ghost of a Tale... you just meet npc's in the world and do some quests for them or search for an item. Chill and beautiful.

I do have a few quibbles with their central hook that you play as a cat, but they nailed it a lot more than they failed at it.     What I wasn't prepared for was how clever the level design was, and how heartfelt its simple story is. The game is not long, my playthrough lasted seven hours and I did almost everything, but it packs a punch for such a short and simple game.

    The game includes no real combat, and the kind of semi-combat there is in the game, shooting the zurks with the lights from your drone, is kind of simple and repetitive, but the game nails both the cat experience, and the fun of exploring and solving puzzles so well that its flaws seem very minor. Of course, not all games are for everyone, and if you are the kind of person that thinks a 5-8 hour game is too short, or needs there to be combat in a game, then you should probably skip this one, but if you are drawn into the game by just the idea of being able to play as a cat, you'll be surprised with how much more this game has to offer.    … Expand

    It's a bold and loud 9/10, ONLY due to its length, could easily enjoy a couple of hours more.
    However, since I got it for "free" due to the clever PS Plus Premium timing, here's your 10!
    Congrats to Annapurna (can these guys make a crappy game? Seems not) for this magnificent emotional experience/journey.

    Absolutely fantastic game! Had about 1-2 slight visual glitches, but that's all. Story was short but meaningful. Really loved the design choices. The cat was really good, good model, awesome handling. Amazing atmosphere and music. For 30$, yes, it is a bit shorter game, about 7 hours with some light collectibles collecting.     For an Indy studio with only slightly more than a handful of developers, this is an instant classic. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, narrative, gameplay and plot. It is now hard to understand nobody else has ever thought of making a game where you play as a cat. A platformer like this, with puzzels, verticality, lends itself perfectly for cat's size and agility. You can also do alot of the typical cat stuff: meow with a buttonpress, give friendly headrubs, scratch furniture, dab at TV remotes, sleep in cozy spots, jump into cardboard boxes, be a little too curious, and of course, knock stuff off of ledges :)

    The art direction is gorgeous, the robots, the city environment, animations and gameplay are a joy to play around. On PS5, the 4k and solid 60 fps make for a smooth experience.

    There are a few missed opportunities though, in my opinion: the story is very short. I took my time anywhere I could and finished in 8 hours. It is easily doable in much less, and there's a trophy for doing it under 2 hours, which is easily doable.
    This is mainly because the game is very linear; only the paths that will take you somewhere where you need to go, are accessible. You cannot go wrong. Some paths are clearly blocked, but often I thought "too bad I cannot go there", even though a cat clearly should be able to. But if the jump-prompt does not appear, you cannot jump onto it.
    The puzzles presented are also not very difficult.

    Again, this all does not really take away any enjoyment. The pace is good, story enjoyable. Leave me wanting more of it!    … Expand

    Nice graphics, lovely story. I don't like cats IRL, but this game is cool. Some parts were dull, seemed like to lengthen the playtime. Overall I'd love a part 2 or a dog version :P

В исследовании мира нам помогает маленький робот B-12, но и в нем скрывается много тайн. Игра проходится за 7-8 часов, если вы не тупой как я. По сути игра не привносит каких уникальных геймплэйных или сюжетных фишек, чувство что я все это когда-то видел.(например дизайн зурков точь в точь как хэдкраб но с глазом). Но господи, как мне было приятно ее проходить, иммено приятно, я просто расслаблялся и играл, были моменты где после состояния релакса мой булки сжимались, но не очень сильно. Stray, это не революция в индустрии, это просто классная, и очень приятная игра. Приходишь ты вечерком с кружкой чая закутываешься в плед и с геймпадом в руках исследуешь этот мир. :)… Expand

    Absolutely gorgeous game. Incredible art style, innovative music, and realistic cat animations. There was so much heart and sincere effort put into this game. Highly recommend it.

    This game was quite a surprise and actually better than I thought. The only complaint that I have is that the last couple of hours were far better than the first few hours. Hence why the game is a 9 instead of a 10.

Il y a un robot qui vous suit B12 si je me souviens bien, qui est là pour vous aider.
    En fin de compte j'ai l'impression que le jeu est fait pour les enfants. C'est pas un reproche mais c'est tellement simple et linéaire que ça leur convient très bien. D'ailleurs mon cadet y a joué et a aimé parce que très accessible pour lui. Et tant mieux d'avoir un jeu pour eux bien fini et de qualité graphique correct pour une fois.
    L'histoire elle n'a pas grand intérêt vu qu'elle est un peu inexistante et que le monde dans lequel nous avançons n'a que très peu d'explication.
    Le jeu se termine très très vite, en une soirée hop c'est fini.
    L'ambiance et le fait qu'on joue un chat dans un monde d'androïde est pas mal et original, mais je pense que d'ici quelques jours je l'aurai oublié malheureusement. Mais en fin de compte je retiens un manque d'aventure et de liberté, d'intrigue bien trop légère.
    Il y a des bugs de collision qui sont un peu énervant par moment.
    Pour résumé un jeu sympa, qui se fini très vite, avec une gameplay simple et des énigmes très simple, mais qui conviendra très bien aux enfants et tant mieux dans un sens.
    Je met donc cette note parce que c'est un jeu indé, mais si c'était un jeu plus ambitieux ou d'un studio avec de l'expérience et plusieurs jeux derrière eux, j'aurai pas mit la moyenne car bien trop simpliste, avec trop peu de contenu et qui se repose sur leur originalité de jouer un chat dans un monde d'androïdes.    … Expand

    let's be honest, the story is quite linear and something you could think of in an afternoon, but the atmosphere alone can leave you trapped, exorbitant camera shots, practically you want to capture everything... it has its bugs. Once I left my cat floating... despite that it is good to be chilled playing it

    No he jugado la versión de PS5 sino la de PC, es uno de los mejores juegos que he jugado en la vida. Su banda sonora es encantadora, los personajes son originales y les tomas mucho cariño, visualmente es increíble, la jugabilidad es tremenda y única... Por último quiero añadir que es el primer juego que me ha hecho llorar, y por si no fuera poco en dos ocasiones. La única desventaja que leNo he jugado la versión de PS5 sino la de PC, es uno de los mejores juegos que he jugado en la vida. Su banda sonora es encantadora, los personajes son originales y les tomas mucho cariño, visualmente es increíble, la jugabilidad es tremenda y única... Por último quiero añadir que es el primer juego que me ha hecho llorar, y por si no fuera poco en dos ocasiones.     Couldn't put it down from start to finish. So much more than just 'that cat game', although it is that too. Compelling story, beautiful levels, and excellent pacing with small bursts of action to break up an otherwise relaxing experience. Loved it.

    Still haven’t finished the game, but it incredibly satisfying to watch. Unfortunately scripted platforming makes the otherwise extremely fluid and seem less experience feel a little more clunky than it should, but nonetheless even with its simplicity it seems to have an intriguing story and cats, which is more than enough for a good score

    If you are allergic to cats, hate mystery, exploration and a good atmosphere in video games, don’t play Stray. Otherwise, you’ve probably already beaten it. It’s a rare occasion to get a title such as this. And if it looks like something you might enjoy, that’s likely because you most surely would.

    Stray makes the most of its choice of protagonist early on, really allowing you to do all the things a typical cat would do, though it eventually loses sight of that in favour of spotlighting the short story. That’s no cause for hissing, though it does leave the overall experience feeling somewhat like two kittens from different litters forced together. The combination works better than it should, but we’re ultimately left wondering what could’ve resulted if either half of the game had been given enough space to stand alone. [Issue#18, p.70]

    It sounds ridiculous. And maybe it is. But the first ten minutes of Stray broke our heart. We’re a soft-boiled egg when it comes to animals, even when they're completely fictional. A cat who loses his friends and then gets hurt? Enough for an intense feeling of sadness and pity. It is not the challenge, but the experience that is key in this game. You really play Stray for the atmosphere. And that's exactly right.
