    What a beautiful game. Both visually, from a story telling perspective and from its presentation. A game where you play as a cat with a backpack, with no spoken dialogue and no big name developer might put some people off. But I had the most wonderful time playing this. I literally loved every minute of it. It's such a charming game that you cant help but fall in love with it. The Sci-FiWhat a beautiful game. You're never quite sure about certain things although you somewhat recognise them.
    all in all I really do think that this game is well deserving of a 10, because I cannot find a fault with it. I've tried but just couldn't think of anything. If you're on the fence about this game, don't be, it will charm you and you'll walk away feeling glad that you have played it.    … Expand

The environment, effects, and animations are so well done. The music and sounds draw you into the world and don't overdo it so it feels more like an experience than a game.

    The way the cat moves is so realistic. I was sad you couldn't just run and jump anywhere like a cat but the mechanic they created for jumping works well enough. My only real negative is the running feels a little slow like it's a movie framerate. That's just the way it is though. I even like the fact you can act like a cat with the robots and they all have different reactions.

    The characters in the world and the story is really interesting. It's not complex or entirely original but it's unique because it's experienced from the perspective of a cat and your companion robot. Parts of the story do involve the cat getting hurt and the sounds and animations are very realistic so be aware of that.

    There are puzzles and little side missions but overall the game is short if you want it to be. I replayed this a couple of times for the things I missed and a speed run. It's a little easy but it really is more of an experience than a challenge. Some of the later parts are a little harder but once you figure out what you're supposed to do it gets easy. I really enjoyed playing it and yeah it's short but it was good. I really hope they make more in this story.    … Expand

    What's better than a cat being the main character of the game and being able to save a city and bring life back to everyone. The puzzles and the storyline of the story were very interesting and not boring at all, as in some places you felt like a cat, especially this game. Recommended for all people who love cats.

    I guess I’m the only one who didn’t like it. The physics are awful. The controls felt old and janky to me. The graphics weren’t that special. I never enjoyed playing it. I truly think this is the most overrated game of the year. I do love that it is free and bold new direction.

    Incredible. The robot playing the guitar made out of a gas can with a hole in it is worth the money and more. Sure the game could be longer but I think it had a story to tell and told it in the amount of time it needed. Also you play as a funny cat.

    Quick background on me the reviewer, I tend to like single player games that is heavy on narrative the most. I also play a lot of racing games and use to play multiplayer games in my high school days but now that it's hard for me and my friends to find a good time to link up so now I hardly play any.     I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this game and the story was touching. I think the length was just right since this game didn't have to many features so any longer than 8hrs, I probably would of got bored.

    I was able to play this game for free so I'm not sure how much they are charging for everyone else. If it's more than 30 dollars I would hold off until it goes on sale due to the length.    … Expand

Its refreshive gameplay and its simple, but intriguing story does a good enough job. I appreaciated the details, for example, when you are in the midtown and go to the elevator and see the area, where have you been an hour ago, but my favorite example of this is, when you are in the control room and if you look out of the window, you can see all the areas you've been to. It is at that moment, where i realize, how the areas are quite small, but because i was a cat it all seemed huge. The game is worth to play, especially if you are looking to relax and get immersed into a cyberpunk world.… Expand

My main issue with the game is there feels like there is no trust in the player to experience the game in the same way a Journey or Abzu would be experienced.     Beyond that, this game feels weirdly unfinished. A lack of animation for simple things like putting on a robe, walking up stairs, and rounding corners (and other weird cat bugs) had me scratching my head. I also thought it was odd how many people (robots) were willing to lay down their lives for a stray cat.
    5/10, pretty middle of the road game for me. When the dust settles and people start seeing this game for what it really is, I have a feeling a lot of people will agree.    … Expand

    It's Annapurna Interactive. Phony, irredeemable, boring, unengaging, indy crap. They think they are the A24 of gaming and it's incredibly annoying to have to share space with these people at gaming events.

    Играя в игру, ты привязываешься к главному персонажу, начинаешь иногда ощущать себя в его теле. Ты можешь стать котом и полностью погрузиться в кошачью жизнь - царапать диван и стены, спать сколько хочешь, мяукать так мило , что аж уровень дофамина и серотонина выплёскивается с небывалой скоростью.

    Впрочем игра рекомендуется для покупки 100% пользователям, так как каждый найдёт, что-то для себя!    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Simply a lovely, beautiful and heartbreaking game that stole the hearts of many people. The gameplay is fun and inovative. The puzzles, platforming and chapters are all very cool and interesting to play. Soundtrack is superb and very emotional. A story that starts rather shy with 4 cats sleeping together, but that suddenly turns into despair as our orange cat falls into some sort of apocalypse where the story unfolds. Characters are all adorable, and the plot is way deeper than people may think. What happened to humans? Why did they go extinct? Is it possible that there are some humans alive outside that bunker? And the robots, are they humans that uploaded their minds into robot bodies? That's what happened with our pal B12. The game ends with even more unanswered questions... Will the cat find it's friends? What is the screen flickering at the very last scene? Is it B12, who might have merged into the system, giving a sign of life?

    All of these questions open plenty of room for a sequel where we might start with the cat on a mission to rescue their friends, who might have gotten into trouble. Sooner or later, someone will enter the Control Room and will find B12's body. His body could be repaired, and then we can have our friend back from one of the most heartbreaking scenes in the gaming history.

    This game is beautiful, lovely, heartbreaking, yet heartwarming. I really look forward to a sequel.

    This is just a wonderful, relaxing adventure game that makes you feel good as it takes you through an beautiful created world, made by inspired people with an obvious love for details. It doesnt have a map, a log, a big inventory and so you need to just focus on exploring, finding clues and figure out some riddles to make your way through an interesting and well written story. This aspect of the game is actually really intuitive since i always got an idea where to go, or what to search for and what has to be done. The fights are not so challenging but i admit, i did die a couple of times. I took my time and spent 7 hours to finish the game and exploring everything or sometimes just enjoyed the view. And it was worth evey single second. I got this game for free since it is included in playstation premium, but it gave me such a good time that i ordered a physical edition after i finished it to support this kind of small and inspired indie-studios. Anyway, its only half the price of those yearly recylced crap games from AAA Studios.… Expand

    Easily one of the most refreshing and original games that I have played in a long while. The game captures a gorgeous lo-fi cyberpunk aesthetic, the platform-puzzling is fun and the game convinces wholly with its cat mechanics. For a short game, there is a surprisingly engaging and thought provoking story at play. This is a clear 10/10 for me, and I hope we get more of this story.

    Enjoyed every aspect of this game, role playing as a cat was extremely fun. The gameplay is a little basic but fits with the game and story. The only complaint I have that prevents me from giving the game a 10/10 is that it was a little short, and left me wanting more game and to see more of the world of the game.

    This game was a real treat. I loved it and I appreciate games like this that are linear, short, and hugely story-based. Especially nowadays, in 2022, when every game has to be 100h of mostly slog and/or live service. I love the world they built here.

    Dont get me wrong this game very cute but the problem is that the game never really sticks to one mechanic and most of them feel really unpolished. especially the janky platforming. but if you like cats doing cat things then I think you will probably like like this game

    Competently made with great sound design and a well executed thought-provoking message on totalitarian capitalism in a beautiful dystopian setting, that unfortunately falls a bit short due to its overly-simplistic gameplay and somewhat underwhelming story. Nowhere near GOTY material, but keep your expectations low and you’ll have a great time, nonetheless.

    Por suerte el juego salio "gratis" en el nuevo servicio de PlayStation Plus. Me pareció aburrido y con una historia muy poco interesante, repetitivo. Realmente no entendí todo el éxito que tuvo, cuando hay juegos mucho mejores.

    A sweet short game with quite a deep story, which is completely optional for you to dive into. The characters as well as the setting are on point. Sometimes the game may seem a bit unpolished, but you'll be quick to get used to it. A solid 8.

    The game world felt very PS5. The game makes excellent use of the DualSense controller. Mouse and keyboard players on PC will not understand how much the controller integrates with games like "Stray". The game also makes good use of the PS5's graphical prowess. Nothing stands out as a gimmicky. It just looks good and plays well.

    The gameplay is a mix of platforming and casual exploration. You learn about this world and its people. My playthrough was about 5 hours and I felt as if I engaged in most of the conversations. (My PS5 trophies show that I missed some side quests and collectibles.) The platforming is a made for speed. You press X at the right moment to make your cat jump to next ledge. There is no need to perfectly time jump and control landings. The game does not want you to send the cat to its death. Fights are really flights, and the smooth animations of the cat are very helpful as you dodge, weave, and jump away from enemies. The gameplay is very polished for such a small team.

    The story is well done and mainly sold through the visual design of the game. You meet inhabitants of this world that tell you much about themselves by how they dress, their physical state, and body language. "Stray" would have been a success without dialogue, though there is quite a bit of dialogue if you are interested. Annapurna is building its reputation among gamers and raising interest in indie games as a whole. Where AAA games are becoming more mundane, AA games are become more different. I love it.

    Full disclosure, I downloaded "Stray" from my PS+ Extra collection. Even so, I try to never equate value with quality. "Stray" game me an unforgettable 5 hour experience. I my mind, it is a game of the year contender. I hope PS+ Extra delivers more of this.    … Expand

    Una propuesta muy interesante que se queda escasa en cuanto a la jugabilidad. El apartado artístico es muy bueno, pero no se concede tanta libertad al jugador como podría parecer en un principio. El salto predefinido a algunos puntos del escenario no me parece muy acertado, pues se debería dejar más libertad de movimientos al jugador. El trasfondo, por otra parte, sí es interesante, alUna propuesta muy interesante que se queda escasa en cuanto a la jugabilidad. El apartado artístico es muy bueno, pero no se concede tanta libertad al jugador como podría parecer en un principio.     The main plot is shadowy, without any deep idea behind or any explanation of how the world works(were did the the monsters come from, what are those eyes..)
    If it wasn't marketed as the selling game for the new ps+, it would never gotten that much attention
    Anyways if you have a spare 3-4 hours, and absolutely nothing else to do, and no other game to play, give it a try
    The platinum is easy (you just need to complete it twice)
    Graphics - 6/10
    Gameplay - 5/10
    Story - 5/10
    Lore/world - 7/10

    This game is short in time, it has many puzzles which you can solve in no time and as a cat, you can walk and meow, but the experience, the environment, the music, and the side quests are unique!     The game was surprisingly good for a game where you can play as a cat, there was alot of good puzzles and missions in this game, the story wasn't great and it felt like there was no main goal but helping people, a few bits where rushed and the game was very short, characters felt hard to like but the memories things was good and the views were good, would make a great open world game. The robots were fun to interact with at first, but you realize slowly that the developers forgot that their game is about the damn cat.

    Just finished this game yesterday and I gotta say, it's probably my favorite game so far in 2022. The atmosphere, music, and gameplay is terrific and it feels like a lived in world. There were many unexpected twists and turns throughout the game and I loved the exploration aspect that came from being a cat. I highly recommend this game to anyone and everyone who wants a nice, relaxingJust finished this game yesterday and I gotta say, it's probably my favorite game so far in 2022.     I really loved this game. Sure, it's not very lengthy, nor does it present any crazy new ideas aside from literally being a cat.

    But it's so refreshing to play a polished, detailed, beautiful game that doesn't waste your time and knows what it wants to be. It tells a short, effective story, with lots of heart and imagination throughout. The sound design is gorgeous, there are a few    I really loved this game. Sure, it's not very lengthy, nor does it present any crazy new ideas aside from literally being a cat.

    But it's so refreshing to play a polished, detailed, beautiful game that doesn't waste your time and knows what it wants to be. It tells a short, effective story, with lots of heart and imagination throughout. The sound design is gorgeous, there are a few collectibles and quirky achievements for completionists, and overall it's just a really solid, confident package.

    For me it was well worth the asking price and will be remain a memorable one, I'm sure. I wish there was a little more content, but that's the only real fault I can find.     Stray is a memorable, and refreshing game that does not overstay it's welcome (literally.. it's a very short game). Playing as a cat is something I didn't know I wanted, and the execution is near purrfect. Would love to see more quirky games like this in the future, and from Annapurna.

    For a small, short, 13 hour, no cost to me indie game this game comes off flawless. The robots sound great! especially Kosma, pissed off robot cleaning paint, and all the other robots stories are cool. Soundtrack is done so well. The cityscape and lore is awesome. My favorite indie game Ive ever played.

    I love the interaction with the robots, the puzzles, the graphics, the humor, that special meowity. The game is made with a lot of love… but! I hate the Zurks. These parts are so… distracting and stressing. They‘re really ruining the mood for me. Too much Zurks.

    Después de haber dedicado 8 horas al titulo puedo decir algo, este título es una obra de arte. Para empezar me gustaría empezar con la historia, la verdad es una historia corta, muy digerible, no es una historia que te rompan la cabeza y creo que para la temática del juego me parece muy bien, siento que el gatito que a pesar que no entendemos lo que dice, el juego te ayuda a encariñarteDespués de haber dedicado 8 horas al titulo puedo decir algo, este título es una obra de arte. Para empezar me gustaría empezar con la historia, la verdad es una historia corta, muy digerible, no es una historia que te rompan la cabeza y creo que para la temática del juego me parece muy bien, siento que el gatito que a pesar que no entendemos lo que dice, el juego te ayuda a encariñarte con el, al igual que su acompañante solo que a diferencia del gatito veremos aprendiendo más sobre su historia como va avanzando el modo campaña, al igual me ha encantado como la pocas misiones secundarias que tiene el juego ayuda a encsriñarte o sentir afecto hacia los robots del mundo. Una cosa que me encantó fue el apartado artístico, me encantó como pudieron crear un título con un ambiente muy Cyberpunck y a la vez un ambiente algo oscuro para las zonas que están infectadas por los parásitos. Ligado a esto, me encantó la música, que para mí es como que la música ayuda en la ambientación del juego, no es como que esperes una música épica o explosiva, sino que el soundtrack es perfecto para el título que quieren dar y que sea como complemento para sumergirte más en este mundo. Una cosa que si no me gusto fue que en algunas zonas hay unas caídas brutales de fps y si a pesar que no arruinan la experiencia si se siente un poco inocomodo, y a la vez un par de ocasiones en que en algunas misiones secundarias como que se bugeaban y lo que hacía aveces no me lo valía o pareciera que no lo había hecho y pues si, un par de ocasiones tuve que reinicie un punto de guardado. En definitiva para mi este es el inide del año, y por el final que tiene espero con ansias que haya una continuación de esta historia en el futuro.… Expand

    If you are allergic to cats, hate mystery, exploration and a good atmosphere in video games, don’t play Stray. Otherwise, you’ve probably already beaten it. It’s a rare occasion to get a title such as this. And if it looks like something you might enjoy, that’s likely because you most surely would.

    Stray makes the most of its choice of protagonist early on, really allowing you to do all the things a typical cat would do, though it eventually loses sight of that in favour of spotlighting the short story. That’s no cause for hissing, though it does leave the overall experience feeling somewhat like two kittens from different litters forced together. The combination works better than it should, but we’re ultimately left wondering what could’ve resulted if either half of the game had been given enough space to stand alone. [Issue#18, p.70]

    It sounds ridiculous. And maybe it is. But the first ten minutes of Stray broke our heart. We’re a soft-boiled egg when it comes to animals, even when they're completely fictional. A cat who loses his friends and then gets hurt? Enough for an intense feeling of sadness and pity. It is not the challenge, but the experience that is key in this game. You really play Stray for the atmosphere. And that's exactly right.
