    Sonic frontiers is for sure one of the best games in the series, top 5 at least. It’s got a pretty decent story and a good ending but the only problem is the amount of pop ins, which also doesn’t affect the gameplay at all, it can just be annoying at times. This is the best game in the series since generations, I recommend it. Also the super sonic gameplay is amazing and as always theSonic frontiers is for sure one of the best games in the series, top 5 at least.     Sonic Frontiers clearly marks the right direction for new Sonic games. Not only through the Open Zone concept and the fantastic way the character is controlled, but also by the depth of the narrative, the characters' relationships, the continuity it finally establishes with the previous titles. The game has flaws, but it deserves all the praise it's getting frrom the fans, for it renewsSonic Frontiers clearly marks the right direction for new Sonic games. Not only through the Open Zone concept and the fantastic way the character is controlled, but also by the depth of the narrative, the characters' relationships, the continuity it finally establishes with the previous titles. The game has flaws, but it deserves all the praise it's getting frrom the fans, for it renews and experiments in so many ways that it is a clear success as it is.

    The real mark should be 9/10 (for the clipping). But the blue blur came from nowhere to bring us this amazing game. The open-zone format is definetly the way for Sonic. So I'll give a 10/10 !

    The cyber stages need a bit of work with the physics and the story scenes are a bit weird because they're kind of in short spurts, but the gameplay is phenomenal and extremely fun

    Sonic Frontiers, in my opinion, best 3D Sonic game. It surely has flaws and is not perfect, but I'd give it a solid 9/10. Let's begin with what I didn't like:

    -Cyberspace's physics. I quickly got used to it, but ngl it doesn't mean that Sonic controls well. Sonic is moving a lot slower, and it's easily noticeable on levels ripped from older games. Long story short, it just inherited    Sonic Frontiers, in my opinion, best 3D Sonic game. It surely has flaws and is not perfect, but I'd give it a solid 9/10. Let's begin with what I didn't like:

    -Cyberspace's physics. I quickly got used to it, but ngl it doesn't mean that Sonic controls well. Sonic is moving a lot slower, and it's easily noticeable on levels ripped from older games. Long story short, it just inherited most of Forces' physics, and downgraded travel speed a bit.
    -Some characters' animations are quite bizarre and weird, especially during Sonic and Knuckles' dialogues, Sonic mid-air running is goofy ahh etc.
    -Abuse of 2D sections on Chaos Island. They build up like more than 1/2nd of the exploring on this Island, it's so annoying honestly.

    Anything else about this game is near perfection.
    Story, with proper characterization and finally use of Chaos Emeralds. Especially villain is well-written. And you know, Amy doesn't flirt with Sonic every damn second.
    Gameplay in open-zone is also great. Combat, while being not so hard, is actually pretty various and enjoyable. You can't just mash X/square button to beat enemies. Sonic's movement is much better here compared to Cyberspace. Exploring just fits those zones so well, that even usually tedious process of getting collectibles is not so challenging and actually boring unlike in Unleashed. Graphics are incredible, a huge leap from previous generation in terms of everything, like lighting, art-style, some textures, level of details, shaders etc. All this together looks pretty much comparable to AAA games. Bosses are various and challenging, once again, huge leap from previous generation games where they are just mostly chases with some obstacles. OST is not as good relatively sometimes in Sonic's standards, but overall it's still a banger (especially Titans' themes)

    Literally peak Sonic fiction. If you've been missing stories of the same caliber of the adventure/pre-sonic colors era, this has that in spades. Not to mention the fluid combat, surprisingly packed open world full of platforming challenges to do, and the cyberspace levels which leave some boost formula gameplay for those who prefer that. As someone who's been a Sonic fan for almost all my life, I'm so happy to say that Sonic is finally back, and better than ever too. The gameplay is not only fun, but addictive as well. Some people might at first glance take a look at the gameplay and think that the world is empty,One of, if not the best Sonic game in the entire series. I'm genuinely surprised by how much fun this game is. As someone who's been a Sonic fan for almost all my life, I'm so happy to say that Sonic is finally back, and better than ever too. The gameplay is not only fun, but addictive as well. Some people might at first glance take a look at the gameplay and think that the world is empty, but that's absolutely not the case. There's so much to do in the world, whether that be solving puzzles, fighting enemies and mini bosses, doing short platforming challenges, or even just free roaming around the islands as Sonic. And the best thing about this is that every aspect is fun. This is probably the best Sonic has ever felt to control, which makes exploring the islands even more fun. There is some jank, but it's not nearly enough to stop the game from being entertaining and fun. And then there's the cyberspace levels. I was originally worried that the levels would be too short and boring, but I'm genuinely surprised by just how much fun these levels are. They're the perfect length, and it's extremely fun to try and finish all the criteria for the level at once. I can imagine that speed-runners will have tons of fun with this game. The only drawbacks for me is that the levels are only made up of 4 main themes (Green Hill, Chemical Plant, Sky Sanctuary and that one city level), and the controls for Sonic in cyberspace isn't as good as the over world. He feels stiff and way too slow. However, the levels are varied enough in aesthetic that it isn't too much of a problem, and I installed a mod that makes him control a bit better in the cyberspace levels, so it isn't really a problem for me anymore too. And then there's the story. The story was actually pretty good, and very fun too. God bless Ian Flynn for not only treating the characters with the respect they deserve, but also doing his best to flesh out the world of Sonic even more. It's super cool to see various moments in the series acknowledged in the game, and not being treated as if it never happened. It's also great to see Sonic being himself again. I've missed the Unleashed era Sonic for so long, so it genuinely feels to me like Sonic is finally back. And I love the way Ian Flynn wrote his dynamic with all the other characters in the game. Rather than just being one-note tropes like they've been for almost a decade now, it's great to see all the characters being written well and treated with respect too. Especially love how Sonic and Knuckles dynamic was in the 2nd island. It's great to see them being rivals with respect towards each other again. Really enjoyed every moment when they interacted with each other. And now to talk about the boss fights. The bosses were some of my favorite moments in the entire game, and easily the best Super Sonic boss fights in the entire series. They're all extremely hype (with the exception of maybe the final boss), with my favorites being the 2nd and 3rd boss (THAT moment during the 3rd boss gave me major Final Fantasy Sonic X nostalgia, if you know you know). And the music during these fights were amazing too (speaking of which, the music for this game is outstanding, and tied with Unleashed for being my favorite soundtrack in the series. Almost every single song is a banger, it's a massive step up compared to Forces OST). It felt like I was playing a Metal Gear Rising boss, but with Sonic. It's like a shonen anime fight, and I mean it in the best way possible. The bosses should definitely be experienced blind. The only gripes I had with the game are stuff like the pop-in, but it didn't really bother me all too much so it's all good. I do wish the ending portion of the game was given more time though, as I feel that the final boss wasn't as good as the other 3 bosses, and the ending portion definitely felt rushed. But in the end, I absolutely enjoyed my time with Sonic Frontiers. It's probably the most fun I've had with a Sonic game ever. After a decade of lackluster games, I'm really happy that Sonic Frontiers turned out to be so great. My score for Sonic Frontiers is a light 9/10, which is the highest rating I've given a Sonic game. Even my previous favorite Sonic games, Generations and Unleashed, are just a strong 8/10. This game isn't perfect by any means, and there's definitely room for improvement. However, the negatives for this game are heavily outweighed by the positives, as well as the amount of pure fun I had playing this game. Sonic is finally back, and I can't wait to see how Sonic Team improves upon this formula.… Expand

    Parece que finalmente están yendo por una buena dirección, Sonic ya no se avergüenza de ser Sonic y estoy muy feliz por eso. Sonic no se queda quieto en lo seguro, él experimenta y se arriesga, eso me atrajo de la franquicia y finalmente lo tenemos de vuelta, no es el mejor juego del mundo pero se aprecia el esfuerzo que hizo Sonic Team.     in the gameplay it is a very fun, entertaining and above all creative game. The story really wants the characters to change for the better. The only bad thing about the game is its popping errors and some small bugs (or well that's all I found because there could be many more)

    Sonic Frontiers does a lot right for the sonic franchise that past games have been unable to obtain. While some of the typical 3d sonic jank is present, the gameplay feel great once you've adjusted in the first few hours. More importantly, the challenges faced to obtain the myriad collectibles littered in each of the open world areas is feels rewarding, as they can be approached from anySonic Frontiers does a lot right for the sonic franchise that past games have been unable to obtain. While some of the typical 3d sonic jank is present, the gameplay feel great once you've adjusted in the first few hours. More importantly, the challenges faced to obtain the myriad collectibles littered in each of the open world areas is feels rewarding, as they can be approached from any angle. While there is an "intended" path for most collectibles, some times there's that one collectible that you aren't quite sure how to reach, resulting in creative methods for you to reach that spot. Landmarks are also sprinkled throughout the openwork segments that lead to cyberspace zones, which are fast-paced albeit short levels flavored from Sonic's previous adventures. These help break up the open world exploration to keep things fresh and providing new challenges along the way. There are also multiple islands, each with its on environments and enemies to keep the player engaged throughout the adventure. Enemies require different methods to defeat, so don't expect to just mash one button constantly, although that may work on a few enemies throughout the journey.

    The story isn't pushing any boundaries compared to other games this generation, but for fans of the older titles there are some nice nods to the games of the past and over all doesn't feel as cringey as some of the more recent games. If you have been a fan of sonic in the past but have fallen off with it recently, I highly recommend you give this game a chance.    … Expand

    This is the best 3d sonic game we got after Generations, it has good controls, fun islands, bosses, good combat, and a great story, the only problem is with some of the cyberspace levels but overall it was an entertaining game

    Juego con aspectos muy mejorables, sobretodo con su pop-in que es lo más notorio del juego sin alguna duda, sonic team podría mejorarlos para una futura entrega, y debería.
    Aún con estas fallas creo que es un gran juego, con un gameplay sorpresivamente divertido y un mundo lleno de cosas para hacer, gran narrativa y diálogos de personajes, su historia me deja cosas que desear, pero me    Juego con aspectos muy mejorables, sobretodo con su pop-in que es lo más notorio del juego sin alguna duda, sonic team podría mejorarlos para una futura entrega, y debería.

    A brilliant game. Definitely has it's jank, however as an experience, is amazing. You can feel the heart in this game. I hope the positive response from fans tell Sega to give Sonic Team a bigger budget and more than 60 people.

    El juego no es perfecto, tiene fallos como el popping que en ocasiones llega a ser algo exagerado, los gráficos que están justos y no destacan demasiado y el Cyberspace en general, el cual es algo bastante desaprovechado y tiene una jugabilidad bastante mala a comparación de como mueves a Sonic en el mundo abierto.
    Aún así, los puntos buenos opacan por mucho los puntos malo, un mundo    El juego no es perfecto, tiene fallos como el popping que en ocasiones llega a ser algo exagerado, los gráficos que están justos y no destacan demasiado y el Cyberspace en general, el cual es algo bastante desaprovechado y tiene una jugabilidad bastante mala a comparación de como mueves a Sonic en el mundo abierto.
    Aún así, los puntos buenos opacan por mucho los puntos malo, un mundo abierto lleno de cositas por hacer y explorar, desafíos en cada isla que, aunque no son la cosa más complicada de hacer, en su mayoría son divertidos de hacer, las batallas contra los Titanes son la cosa más épica que se ha visto en franquicia, la música es hermosa manejando 3 estilos diferentes para cada "situación", y una historia bastante buena, arreglando cosas de juegos anteriores.

    Sonic frontiers is a very different take from your typical 3d sonic game, but I am glad to say that this game is great. After years of waiting for something that’s good, sonic frontiers delivers that and more. From the open zone exploration to the amazing supersonic boss fights, sonic frontiers brings a fun and refreshing new take to the typical sonic experience.

    Very good foundational ideas that are executed mostly well but lacking polish, cyberspace has reused levels but can still feel worse because of the lack of proper quickstep, open world has no momentum unless you boost off of a ledge or ramp and it only has slope physics if you drop dash.     This has to be one of the best sonic games I've played. Thanks to a new writer, the story and the characters are so good! And, we now get to play as one of the best versions of Super Sonic in the whole Sonic franchise. Amazing job Sonic team! I really hope they keep this formula for the next game.

Furthermore the music is one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard! The only critic from my site is, the pop in of Plattforms on the screen. Please, give the game a chance, it is actully a really good game!

Everything looks GREAT, the chemistry and emotions between the characters, especially between Sonic and Knuckles, the island boss fights are GREAT. But why not 10? On the 3rd island, I get bored with 2D sections, which make up 60 percent of the entire island. And... in cyberspace, too, there is a thing. The levels aren't all that interesting considering that... I have played through the entire game multiple times (because of just how addicting it is) and I can confidently say that it is the best 3D Modern Sonic game we've had since Sonic Unleashed!     This game is a ton of fun for anyone who is a Sonic fan. Both the base gameplay and story are things that are a great starting point in a new direction for the franchise. This story contains a lot of past game references which has been missing the past few games, it makes the world feel more connected and real which is nice. I just hope that Sonic Team AND SEGA give the next instalment the time it needs to be polished and refined into what should be another great game. There is a bit of jankyness with the camera and controls sometimes which can be polished overtime, as well as cleaning up some performance issues such as the pop-in that occurs. I played all of Sonic Frontiers and it was absolutely amazing everything about this was perfect the open zones was a great transition for the newest generation for consoles the option to change how sonic moves is great and the cyberspace is a bit slow but it was fun trying to get all the challenges done and the super sonic fights were amazing and the soundtrack and fighting is perfect the only thing that's preventing me to put it a 10 is because of the end of the game and going against the true final boss and beating the game isn't that fulfilling but this is definitely the next step for sonic and might be my favorite sonic game but that's all this is your boi ANDREW_BLUE over and out… Expand

    Sonic Frontiers is a pretty good game. Its rough around the edges in many areas, constantly reusing Green Hill Zone and Chemical Plant, and the narrative while good, couldve been a bit more involving. Overall though, I walked away being content that I was finally given the type of game I waited 14 years for.

    What can I say, its fun, very very fun, and thats all a game needs to be, other things matter and it does have some flaws, but I had so much fun to me I dont care, because I can go on about the pop in and crap, but if I enjoyed the experience so much despite that, of course its a 10

    After 100%ing Sonic Frontiers twice, I can confidently say that the series is putting it’s best foot forward and turning over a new leaf, in order to usher in a new era for Sonic, and I’m very much looking forward to seeing what the Blue Blur has in store for us next.

    Magical! Best Sonic game of all time in my opinion. The soundtrack has so much variety and all done at a AAA level. The second and third boss are PEAK Sonic bosses with phenomenal cinematics. The game is absolutely worth it!

    First time playing a new 3D Sonic since Unleashed, and I was excited. After playing it, I can say that it's a lot like Pokemon Legends Arceus in the sense that it's a great idea and a great new direction for the series, but flawed by bizarre design choices and a SEVERE lack of polish. It's not fun to be running along and into a bumper and just... fall through it like it doesn't exist and have to start a segment over. Or press the boost button and just go flying off the stage. Combat is sadly pretty trivial even on hard, as all moves are WAY overpowered-- if you aren't just mashing the basic combo, you can just spam any other move, like Sonic Boom, and enemies will go down in seconds, completely unable to touch you. And what's up with the parry? If timing doesn't matter at all how is it fun to use? It makes it essentially a "hold this to win" button.
    Fluidly chaining together between rails and springs in the open world, from one "section" to the next, is very satisfying and fun (when it works and the jank doesn't ruin your run), but sometimes you're sent flying off in places you didn't expect, leaving you asking "wait where am I, where did I go"?
    Lastly, I like the idea of the collectibles. Beat bosses in the overworld to beat boost formula stages to get chaos emeralds. However, most collectibles become almost instantly worthless as you can just find keys and cogs randomly by defeating basic enemies or doing cycloop circles. Why bother playing the actual levels if the game just dumps keys on me constantly? Or why even play ANY of the game if I can just spend a few minutes fishing for all the resources I need? The collectables really should only come from the bosses, cyberspace levels and little platforming sections in the world. No digging treasure and getting a dozen memory tokens or a key, no one-shotting a grunt with a homing attack to get a cog... make me PLAY THE GAME to earn the rewards.
    Even with these flaws I had a ton of fun playing this game. I really hope the rough edges get smoothed out with the next release, the future has potential for sure.    … Expand

I would give this game a 9/10 if the final boss wasn’t so underwhelming though. The last 3 bosses before it were awesome and hype. But that final boss felt like it wasn’t finished, it’s like they didn’t have enough time to fully develop the final boss of the game so hopefully in the future they have more manpower and time to make the game perfect.… Expand

    I believe this is a really good game :)

    There are definitely some parts that aren't perfect, i would've given it a 10 if it was perfect, but i genuinely believe the good parts far outweigh the bad parts. please give it a try if you're skeptical. and if you still don't like it, that's completely your choice and i won't judge you for it.

    -combat is kinda bare-bones; needs more moves tbh
    -the open world level design is aesthetically ass I'm sorry like why tf are there floating platforms in a basically desolate landscape??? In future games, level design should try to blend in with the environment
    -you guys flopped the last two islands, should've just combined them with Kronos and made chaos the last island...
    -POP IN......... LMFAOOOOOOO

    Despite these nitpicks, i still very much love this game, from my experience i would rate it 9 but objectively speaking, it's an 8.

    cyber space actually improves the further in the game you go. not just because they stop trying to force-feed you so many 2d cyberspace stages, but also because they pull from more SA2, SA1 and hero levels. i was overly excited when i realized one level was metal harbor. that said they really should have more than 4 visual themes, but it doesn't detract to much from the cyberspace stages.

    now it's not all sunshine
    some of the puzzles and mini range from mediocre to down right frustrating. (looking at you chaos island.) with my leasta favorite one being where you have to collect 600 scrap metal. which wouldn't be so much of a pain except there is a short timer and the peices do not magnetize to you.
    while every single main boss slaps in this game. some of the mini bosses are hit or miss.
    with the worst of them being the shark mini boss which has way to many QTE for my taste.

    now onto the best part i feel for this game besides the open zone aspect.

    The story is much more melancholic then recent games and the stakes are also the highest it's been since the adventure levels. I WILL NOT put any spoilers besides saying this game's story is about the star fair islands inhabitants, but much more it's a story about retrospective reflection as well as a surprise introspective view of Eggman's thoughts. b y the end of this game you will feel sorry for Eggman. which is not a sentence I would thought I would be saying. Shout out to ian flynn for this masterful writing. you will be shocked at the amount of call backs and actual character development we get in this game.

    Finally, after almost 25years of half measures and mostly mediocre titles, Sonic has finally reached the 3D levels of gameplay it needed to reach. Yes, the pop in is absolutely inexcusable and the ancient gatekeeping grindy methods damage the flow of the game for no reason, but a wonderfully built base exists here, with a highly entertaining adventure in wonderfully melancholic world and a surprisingly well founded story, thankfully clean of Sonic’s annoying 3rd tier friends!
