    Sonic Frontiers is what Sonic has needed for years, you can see the love they gave him and as a fan of Sonic I am very happy it has things that although it is not perfect that does not make it a bad game as other critics say. :)

    This is only the beginning. Sonic Team trying a new formula and it came out good! Everything about this game is great!! I look forward to their next game!

    The best sonic game I have ever played. It's just so much pure fun l! Running around and exploring as sonic just feels amazing, platforming acorss these huge landscapes at blistering speeds, the combat is super fast paced and energetic, the cyberspace levels at their best are as fun as generations and unleashed, the story has been quite good too! Highly recommend it to any sonic fan!

    This is the best Sonic game, in my opinion, the story is great, the characters are written so well, including Sage who I want to see more of in future games, the game-play is fun and addicting, and the bosses (even the twist for the last one) are fantastic and epic alongside the music. Finished it just now and I loved it.

    the open world is very fun to play you have very much things to do combat is solid but fun movment is great you can customize the movment story very good animaations better than before overall one of the best sonic game in my opinion and please play on hard mode to get good ending and check sometimes that it is on hard beacause it can change if you die too many times.

    This game reminded me of why I love Sonic. While it’s not perfect with issues like pop-in and cyberspace controls, it manages to tell a really cool story with the open world and Super Sonic boss battles being some of the big highlights. I’m giving this a high score because I want Sega to know that this is the direction I’ve wanted for a long time and seeing everyone’s positive impressionsThis game reminded me of why I love Sonic. While it’s not perfect with issues like pop-in and cyberspace controls, it manages to tell a really cool story with the open world and Super Sonic boss battles being some of the big highlights. I’m giving this a high score because I want Sega to know that this is the direction I’ve wanted for a long time and seeing everyone’s positive impressions will hopefully deliver that message further.     El juego es muy bueno, claro con sus defectos como cualquier juego pero sinceramente es más de lo que esperaba ya que la verdad no esperaba demasiado, ya que como muchos saben la saga de Sonic es como una montaña rusa, puede traerte juegos muy buenos y luego muy malos y siendo sincero no creí que fuera a ser un juego muy bueno ya que seguí muy desconfiado con sega después de lo de forces.El juego es muy bueno, claro con sus defectos como cualquier juego pero sinceramente es más de lo que esperaba ya que la verdad no esperaba demasiado, ya que como muchos saben la saga de Sonic es como una montaña rusa, puede traerte juegos muy buenos y luego muy malos y siendo sincero no creí que fuera a ser un juego muy bueno ya que seguí muy desconfiado con sega después de lo de forces. Pero al probarlo al principio duras un rato en acostumbrarte a los nuevos controles de Sonic (obvio si has jugado los de la era boost notaras un gran cambio en los controles) pero no son malos, al contrario son muy buenos y cómodos tanto que al pasar el rato no te incomodan en ningún momento y son muy disfrutables. Y bueno ahora hablando de lo malo, para empezar el juego tiene varios errores como la cámara, que si puedes ajustarla a tu gustó pero siendo sinceros no es una cámara muy cómoda ya que te puede hacer fallar y perder tiempo varias veces, el pop in tambien es otro problema que tiene, no es que sea algo que haga que el juego sea in jugable pero si se alcanza a notar que sufre mucho de eso y hace que el juego no se sienta muy bien optimizado, también otras de las cosas que tiene el juego es que el mundo abierto se siente muy desolado, que si por la trama se entiende que este solo, pero creó que pudieron haber hecho algo mejor con ello y por último de lo malo es que las zonas del ciber espació no son malas lo único que tiene que en lo personal no me gustó es que solo son 4 zonas a las que vamos en todo el juego y siento que es algo en lo que pudieron haber hecho algo mejor. Y ahora de lo bueno, pues el juego tiene muy grandes aciertos como por ejemplo, que la historia del juego es algo que sinceramente está mejor desarrollada y escrita que otros juegos actuales de sonic también que la jugabilidad cómo dije al principio es cómoda, no perfecta pero si es cómodo y jugable otras cosas que también tiene de bueno es su duración ya que los juegos anteriores como colores, generations y forces no te duraban más que unas 3 horas en la historia en cambio Frontiers si tiene una duración muy respetable de unas 6 o 8 horas, dependiendo de que tanto jueges claro. Y algo que no puedo dejar pasar por alto es... Su soundtrack, y es que el soundtrack es algo que la saga de sonic jamás decepciona y está no es la ocasión, teniendo muchos temazos que a muchos les encantarán.
    Y bueno creo que eso es todo lo que les puedo decir sobre el juego la verdad el juego cumple y mucho, el juego merece que le den una oportunidad, no será perfecto pero valla que es un gran juego y más teniendo en cuenta los juegos anteriores de esta franquicia y la reputación que ha tenido en los últimos tiempos. Si estabas pensando en comprar el juego y no sabías si hacerlo, hazlo se que no te arrepentirás de ello.    … Expand

    Plainly the best 3 Sonic game ever, boss battles are some of the best of the series, soundtrack is ons of the very very tops, exploration and enemies are fun. Could definitely have used an extra few months for endgame to be more fleshed out but wow, wow and wow.

    Absolutely love this game so much so far. Fun to play, fun to control Sonic and the music is just incredible. The bosses too are the best in the series (with the exception of the final boss). It has its flaws but none of which were big enough to ruin or take me out of the experience.     Sonic Frontiers is a good game with its flaws however, some of the puzzles are poorly designed with cyberspace levels being somewhat of a chore compared to the open world gameplay. The story is a step in the right direction with many characters being fixed to resemble their original personalities.     Finally we were given the opportunity to experience Sonic's speed to the full, without being restricted to linear levels. I also liked that Sonic started to remember his past adventures, as it ties the games together. The only thing missing is the ciao garden, but I think it will come back at some point for sure

This was a great game the spite of all what other critics say in my book it feels like a reminder that the sonic games are still sonic games the story has unbelievably has cared the development of every one of the cast Gameplay was so awesome that I wanted to keep playing ahead again the fishing was very calming And the fighting scenes of all bosses are Top notch They did say that sonic convention 3 was their ticket to inspiration from this game so I'm guessing that everyone should have high hopes when sonic coming back no matter what people would say it's still a great franchise… Expand

Los efectos de clima, y el cambio de dia y noche, Los movimientos de sonic y sus habilidades junto a los combates son 10/10. Los combates de Super Sonic son in maldito regalo. Gracias Sega.

    Ahora lo Negativo: El poping es brutal, aunque al final le quitas importancia y te acostumbras, Los minijuegos obligatorios que te cortan la acción algunos son super absurdos y aburridos, Las fases del cyber espacio son horribles, la cámara te empuja y te obliga a seguir el camino, Sonic se vuelve ortopédico como si retrocediésemos en el tiempo a un mal juego. Deberían de haber dejado la cámara libre y mantener la agilidad como en las zonas abiertas. Espero que eso se resuelva en el futuro.     The games writing is fantastic, the optional lore memo's, the characterization, the mystery, it's all executed on a level we haven't seen really since the Adventure Games.
    Special mention to the voice talent, Roger    A fantastic entry into the Sonic series, genuinely SEGA has made a new game that touches on the potential of this series both the gameplay side and the storytelling side.
    The games writing is fantastic, the optional lore memo's, the characterization, the mystery, it's all executed on a level we haven't seen really since the Adventure Games.
    Special mention to the voice talent, Roger Craig Smith has had a rough time as Sonic with some appalling scripts and a grating Sonic voice, that changes here! The incredible script (Special Thanks to long time Sonic Comic writer Ian Flynn, a godsend) coupled with the new deeper tone of voice works fantastically, this is how Sonic sounds for sure.
    Gameplay wise it's maybe the best we've seen of a 3D sonic game since Sonic Adventure 1, Sonic handles fantastically, there's a learning curve to his movement which informs you that there's a large skill ceiling, although caps on momentum and standardised speed leaves room for improvement, the touches of momentum based play are there and it's fantastic.
    I ran into no bugs or glitches during my PS5 run of the game, but more importantly I never ran into an unfair death, something that plagues many sonic games.
    SET PIECES the Island bosses are incredibly hype, how the game handles Super Sonic is the new standard rather than feeling like some kind of cutaway or minigame you hold onto the skills you have learned during play and have them enhanced for these massive climaxes!
    As ever the music in Sonic is reliably great but it's truly a great OST a mix of the sound directors passions clearly, from melancholy to lo-fi, and a splash of 2000's era rock and metal, it comes together fantastically!
    Sonic Adventure 2 shoes are the cherry on top .
    9/10 quite possibly the best entry into Sonic's catalogue, I don't want to call it a perfect 10 because there's room for improvement but that is no criticism, that room for improvement only exists because of how stand out this game is. Sonic Frontiers is a love letter to not only Sonic Fans but also just good games.    … Expand

    Amazing game overall. Extremely fun to run around the open world, it's starts off a little slow in the tutorial area but once you get to the open world it's a blast. You unlock tons of different moves for combat throughout the game that look extremely cool. You can almost do whatever you want in this game. The boss battles are one of the highlights of the game, they are absolutely sick. The music in this game is also amazing. I also enjoyed the writing in the game as well, huge step up from the last few sonic games. Dispite the games small flaws it is more than made up for with fun gameplay that will keep you intrigued for hours.

    TLDR: if you want to have fun running around an open world at highspeed with fun combat and have the freedom to explore and do whatever you want, this is game for you.    … Expand

    A great step in the right direction. Despite not being perfect its success in bringing tons of fun to the player as well as setting the bases for the upcoming titles. There is a lot of that can be polished, but its heart and core makes it a great action platformer full of good moments and driven by a simple but yet effective story.

The moment the first boss battle started and sonic got the 7th chaos emerald and the music featuring Kellin Quinn from Sleeping With Sirens came came on I knew this was a phenomenal game seeing super sonic pull off moves like it was an anime was the best thing I've seen and gave me chills. The traversal and voice acting along with the tons of stuff to do brings the feeling of "one more puzzle" and not going to sleep. This is a phenomenal game so far and I want to continue and perfect It 100%… Expand

The only issue with the game are the pop ins and the 4 island, which is the northern part of kronos island. The final boss is fun but not compared to the previous titans fights. The game obviously have some bugs and the main systems like combat and general difficulty need an improvement. But overall the game is absolutely amazing, good graphics, good history, good characters personalities, good enemies and bosses. By far the best game since Sonic unleashed and frankly the best Sonic game ever made… Expand

    Sonic is the best he has ever been. Open zones are a ton of fun to explore and the minibosses are very satisfying to defeat. The titan bosses are the best bosses have ever been in the series. Cyberspace levels, although have a tad bit of jank, are mostly well designed and fun to master in speedruns

    As a long time Sonic fan, I think this game do a lot of things right. Great even. It's super fun just to collect medals and free your pals. Control is tight, music is superb, cyberspace levels are mostly good. Story, narrative and cinematography are way ahead any other Sonic game period. Performance is solid (60fps). Story, narrative and cinematography are way ahead any other Sonic game period. Performance is solid (60fps). Boss fights are awesome. They really are!     Absolutely love this game. It's so atmospheric and the open world setting is brilliant. So much to discover and the more you play, the more you learn and get used to the great controls and battle moves. Some really cool ways of fighting and rushing around the brilliantly realised world. The best Sonic game in years and a really exciting step forward in the right direction.

Open world and serious story are a massive draw as a long time Sonic fan. This game hits all the key points on the head, the only thing that I would change is the cyber space levels. There needs to be more variety in locations and better controlling for Sonic.
    This is obviously a smaller part of the game and is immediately forgiven when they allowed me to go super sonic and beat the ever living snot out of massive titans!

Sonic Frontiers returns tropes from older games in the series, namely the hidden lore and extended story of the series, as seen in the two Sonic Adventure games. The game has a gameplay loop of exploring the islands to find tokens, fighting mini-bosses (Which I actually felt there weren't enough of at some points), and runningAfter 11 years, we finally have another good Sonic Team game. Sonic Frontiers returns tropes from older games in the series, namely the hidden lore and extended story of the series, as seen in the two Sonic Adventure games. The game has a gameplay loop of exploring the islands to find tokens, fighting mini-bosses (Which I actually felt there weren't enough of at some points), and running through Cyberspace. Cyberspace physics were janky, and it took me a while to accept that many stages re-used old level design, but it was fun recognizing certain level layouts from Sonic's past. One thing I'd like to see in a potential follow-up to this game is replacing Cyberspace with more "levels in the open zone"- it's hard to understand what I"m describing if you haven't played the game. Though I still have a good amount of the game before I beat it, I've really enjoyed all of it so far, and I can't wait to see how Sonic Team takes what they've learned from this game to make something ven better.… Expand

The cyberspace levels I am mixed about. The last island has completely original levels, other than one, but most of them are good. Unfortunately, the cyberspace levels in the earlier islands aren't so lucky. Some levels from earlier islands have level design taken from old levels, which sometimes feels lazy. However, the 3D stages are really fun. The 2D sections of cyberspace levels are probably the worst part of the game and the physics are why. You should also make sure to clear as many of the mini games that expand your GPS as possible or else you could be stuck searching for portals. However, overall, this game is fantastic. Get this game now. Also PLAY THE GAME ON HARD MODE or else you won’t get the true final boss. Actually, you only need to switch to hard mode before you get the 6th chaos emerald on the 5th and last island, but you should play the game on hard mode anyway because it’s not even hard.     The story is immersive and I found my sonic, this guy so cool and ready to help his friends no matter what, knuckles tails and Amy are fantastic i feel this link between the characters.

    Now let’s talk about the cyberspace and… Im split.
    We are tired of the same stages: Green Hill Chemical plant and sky sanctuary… okay it’s sonic memories BUT there are A LOT OF levels through the sonic games.
    Like you have: Spagonia, Kingdom Valley, twinkle mountain, jungle (sonic adventure 2 stage) I can’t trust they didn’t think about that.
    The gameplay is weird sonic seems like is so slow you don’t this feeling of soled through the cyberspace.
    The animations is mediocre when sonic is on rails and ****
    But In the same time I liked the cyberspace, I’m a sonic fan and these stages remind me these 3D games like unleashed and generation even if the gameplay isn’t good compared to unleashed/generation.

    Super sonic ? Super sonic oh my god it was one of my favorite part, the titans are amazing and terrifying and versatile. Giganto raven and samouraï was amazing and the freedom for super sonic is amazing too not just boost through the ennemie and that’s all, hell nah you’ll fight the ennemies and find strategies to hit’em up.

    To conclude sonic frontiers was a good game for me, he has his qualities like his defaults but it was really fun and immersive on all points.

    This game is for Sonic fans of old generation and new. Sonic feels so refreshing and great to control. This game has great atmosphere, great music, and for once in a long time, a good story. Sonics character is fleshed out more, side characters are given more of a personality than their typical one note tropes. I greatly enjoy this game.

    This is a fresh new take on the series and a big step in the right direction for the future of sonic games. I haven't had this much fun with a sonic game since Sonic Unleashed. Huge props to Ian Flynn for writing such an interesting story as well. If you are a Sonic fan then I highly recommend this game.

Now I’m not gonna get into spoilers but the last 2 islands were kinda disappointing and the 3rd island is probly the most annoying it’s just full of 2d sections that you HAVE to go through, you can’t escape from it I lost count on how many times I accidentally gone into a 2d section I already went through being forced to go through it again until I find an escape route, also the cyberspace levels…while they are fun at times the customized controls for the open world doesn’t apply and I honestly don’t get why and due to that controlling sonic is pretty bad he just feels stiff and awkward and SIGNIFICANTLY slower the levels themselves are pretty good but controlling sonic…not so much and I’m also not a fan of sonic stopping when he homing attacks. I LOVE the combat and the skill trees I definitely felt powerful when I used different attack variations and combos especially during the big open world bosses now as for the final boss again no spoilers but it wasn’t as good as I thought it was gonna be it definitely doesn’t surpass dark gaia and surprisingly the first island was the most fun to playthrough and there was definitely quests that I did NOT like but for the most part I enjoyed myself the story wasn’t really “tear jerking” and “emotional and serious” as they hyped it up to be and it’s pretty much what you expect with the “my friends are my power” cliché but it was still a pretty good story and I had a LOT of fun playing this one, overall I give it a 8/10 hopefully one day sega and sonic team will make a game truly amazing that’ll surpass unleashed and adventures 1-2 while that’ll definitely be hard if they continue going this route I think it’s definitely possible, I’m very excited for the future of sonic!… Expand

    An excellent start of a new era for Sonic. My only disappointment is how short the main campaign is and that is the only reason I'm not giving it a perfect score. Mechanics, additional playable characters, and boss battles can always be improved if they continue this formula, but as of now, Sonic Frontiers is worth a couple of playthroughs.

    I love this change of gameplay and it was a lot of fun. 5 different islands with a total challenge amused me for hours so that I finished the first island the first time I entered the game! For all the styles of this game, the portals are exactly the same as Sonic Colors and Sonic Generation, which I also liked.

    I have played this game for over 18 hours and I have only come out with a single complaint literally to do with a fishing mini game, I find it pointless that you work harder to catch chests with a max of 3 tickets in. I know that these can buy you anything for only 1 ticket but the most expensive thing is 15 tokens so the max equivalent for 3 tickets would be 45 tokens even though you canI have played this game for over 18 hours and I have only come out with a single complaint literally to do with a fishing mini game, I find it pointless that you work harder to catch chests with a max of 3 tickets in. I know that these can buy you anything for only 1 ticket but the most expensive thing is 15 tokens so the max equivalent for 3 tickets would be 45 tokens even though you can catch fish that give you 48 tokens regularly on the last island. It only becomes a problem in the last island so it’s not that big but it did confuse me hah.… Expand

    The idea and vision of the game is absolutely fabulous. In practice, however, the game is brought down by its execution, which you can see through after a short while and then the game has nothing to surprise you with. [Issue#324]

    There is nothing remotely redeeming about this game. Nothing that even the most die-hard loyal Sonic Fans would or should advocate for. I hope that one day someone who cares enough about this franchise could give us something-anything of substance. A fan can hope, can’t they? A fan can hope.

    Finally, after almost 25years of half measures and mostly mediocre titles, Sonic has finally reached the 3D levels of gameplay it needed to reach. Yes, the pop in is absolutely inexcusable and the ancient gatekeeping grindy methods damage the flow of the game for no reason, but a wonderfully built base exists here, with a highly entertaining adventure in wonderfully melancholic world and a surprisingly well founded story, thankfully clean of Sonic’s annoying 3rd tier friends!
