    I'm giving this a 10 to counteract the Dunkey review bombing that is sure to happen.

    Also, I genuinely think this game is excellent and possibly the best 3D Sonic game.

    The game itself is probably a 8 out of 10 but it creates a formula that could make the best game in the series and it fixes the lore of Sonic so I am fully positive about this game

    If you're used to Sonic games or just starting out on fast paced games this is actually pretty fun. I'm only at the beginning right now but I really enjoy it!

    Best Sonic Game ever. Even better than my all time favorite Sonic game Sonic adventure 2. While this game has a few issues, I look past them because this game still managed to blow me away and deliver the most fun i've had from any game this year. Like..     I was skeptical at first being an early 2000's Sonic fan. But I will reassure you. That the Sonic you grew up with in the 2000's is back, not only his character(and others), but the ambition of the adventure he's taking on. Aesthetically and story-driven wise.     This game has minor issues, but are overshadowed by the amazing creative and love Sonic Team has put into this game.
    The videos online do not do this game justice, you must simply play yourself, as the controls are tight and response as well as fluid.

    This game blows Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild out of the water and sets a new bar for open world games as this one takes crown.

    What made me cry was not only the end, but also how long I have waited for the real Sonic to return.

    I actually played it and like it a lot. I didn’t go out of my way to spoil the game for others without any warning or intentionally try to get myself stuck with issues (actually I didn’t really have any big issues that affected my gameplay). It’s just fun and I didn’t want to stop playing. Also there’s already mods that fix things people don’t like or want changed so definitely take aI actually played it and like it a lot.     This is the Sonic game I've been waiting for since Unleashed and Generations. It's such a great game. It's a little buggy here and there and a little janky but those things don't really bother me I've been a fan for a long time I'm used to that kinda stuff. I hope Sonic Team takes what they've done with this game and improve it for future Sonic Games this formula has so much potential,

    I absolutely love this game. The open zone is very fun to explore, the story is actually good the titan fights are amazing, the ost slaps, probably one of my most favorite games of all time, definitely a top 3 sonic game for me.

    Un des meilleurs Sonic auquels j'ai pu jouer dans ma vie, un super monde ouvert, un Sonic qui possède des mouvements très fluides et maniables comparé aux jeux précédents de la licence, une OST à couper le souffle et une histoire vraiment, mais vraiment bien faite ! Un super retour en force de la part du hérisson bleu !

    Fantastic sonic game. It has an amazing story with fantastic writing, plenty of awesome call backs, fun gameplay, and is the best sonic game to come out in a decade. SO happy to see sonic do great things again!

    Sonic Frontiers, The next generation of the blue blur

    It’s not a secret sonic has had some… questionable 3D outings but Frontiers blows all past games out of the water, Adventure type story, open world like never seen before in a sonic game, truly a phenomenal experience for someone who grew up with the blue blur, the open zones were a blast to run around and find all the secrets, the    Sonic Frontiers, The next generation of the blue blur

    It’s not a secret sonic has had some… questionable 3D outings but Frontiers blows all past games out of the water, Adventure type story, open world like never seen before in a sonic game, truly a phenomenal experience for someone who grew up with the blue blur, the open zones were a blast to run around and find all the secrets, the story although not too deep is a massive step in the right direction of serious story telling, for the first time maybe ever sonic didn’t have a single cringy line. My issues how ever come with some different things, the cyber space levels need MUCH better physics, the boss fights although cool need much more balancing cause half the time it felt like I was just pressing buttons and a 50/50 shot on if I’d do anything, the “true final boss” is also insanely difficult and can only be played on hard mode. Those were my biggest issues. The best thing about this game by far was the music, a very peaceful feel while running through the open world, but turns up the heat with some awesome metal tracks in the boss fights, absolutely incredible

    A great new direction for the series, with a new fun and enjoyable gameplay formula, finaly an actually good story after over a decade and the best character writting the series has ever seen. And man those boss fights are just AMAZING. Hope that SEGA will be able to go even higher and higher from this point on!

    Great game, really enjoyed the experience. Zipping around as Sonic is a delight and I love all of the new elements this game brings to the table. Not without minor issues but that didn't detract from the fun.

    Probably the best Sonic title in the last 20 years, if not ever. Frontiers' story is phenomenal (the slapstick era is FINALLY over), and the gameplay is immersive enough to keep you playing for hours and hours. I love this game.

    This game makes me so happy. I've been playing Sonic games since the Dreamcast games and have always enjoyed the games no matter how bad, just because my boy Sonic was in it. But this time around everything in the game made me unbelievable happy. The music, the gameplay and the characters have all received a major upgrade from Sonic Forces, a time when we thought Sonic was unsalvageable.This game makes me so happy. I've been playing Sonic games since the Dreamcast games and have always enjoyed the games no matter how bad, just because my boy Sonic was in it.     This game is good. It’s not on the level of Zelda, but it does still get a 10 from me. The story is nice, the little snippets of Sonic talking about other characters puts in some extra charm and is nice for Sonic fans who know all those characters.

    I can only say: everyone play this game for yourself and make your own opinion.

This game was amazing, the boss fights were giving me goosebumps as the amazing track started playing, and the open world even though it maybe be kind off empty in hindsight but I think that's what the developers were trying to do because sonic is so fast there is no need to put content in ever inch of the world.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I do want to talk about the game, but before I do- let me tell you my personal mental state prior. Before this game, I was cold and depressed. Wallowing away in regret as my entire life slipped away from me. Everything I have ever known felt cold and distinct. But then, when I finally got to play Sonic Frontiers… inspiration came to me. My life finally started making sense.

    The starfall islands the game houses are vast and wide. They have a myriad of challenges you can complete, and puzzles that are truly puzzling. On top of that, is the usual Sonic gameplay of running, jumping, and boosting your way up rails, ramps, and springs.

    But to be honest, the best part about Frontiers is how it excels at bringing to light our deep societal problems. It’s good to know that even an E-rated game such as this can tackle the complex themes of our time so well.

    In this game, the great ancients were wiped out by a primal evil: The End, a dark moon set out for destruction. Throughout the entire game, The End tricks Sonic into helping them- saying that they are doing this for the good of Sonic and his friends. But turns out, that was all a lie. In truth, this moon was out to completely annihilate the universe! It tells Sonic that they are inevitable. It will arrive, no matter what Sonic does. And yet, the great Super Sonic, teaming up with the noble Sage, a manmade wonder- stop The End from destroying the world.

    This is very clearly an allegory towards the challenging topic of social hierarchy, and its role in today’s world. The pure ancients were unrecognized for years, but they tried to stop The (vile) End from happening. Now, we must know to stop any dark forces that challenge our path- no matter how pure they may present themselves at first. Know, that some are destined to be “The End”. To destroy us all. And just like Super Sonic at the end of Frontiers- we will conquer our enemies.    … Expand

    I have never had this much fun exploring!
    The open areas really need to be these big, mainly empty areas with occassional obstacles. After all, you are constantly running around with ridiculous speed, and it feels great.
    There are fast travel options, but 10/10 times I preferred running across the whole area to see how fast I can get there. Now another aspect is the brand new and    I have never had this much fun exploring!

    Now another aspect is the brand new and interesting combat paired with a bunch of varied enemies to fight. While not all of them are fun to fight against, I was always excited to see a new enemy, mainly the mini bosses, to see their cool designs and how they'd fight. I didn't expect much from the combat but it was still quite enjoyable, especially the boss fights in each area.

    It's not a game you would play for a deep story or for its intricate mechanics. It's simply a good time, and I had a very good time with it. I certainly can't wait for the Sonic Team to expand and improve on this concept.    … Expand

The way Sonic controls in the open zone has been the best he has felt since Unleashed or the Adventure titles. The combat in this game is very unique and a fun experience, the guardians are very fun to fight, Cyberspace is quite a different experience but once you get used to it, you begin to really into the levels. The boss fights in this game are top notch as well. Giganto, Wyvern, and Knight are all good examples. You fly around as Super Sonic trying to deal damage to these colossus-sized enemies. Although I do think the final boss could’ve been better. I don’t really like the idea of a bullet hell. This game’s soundtrack is probably the best within the series. I’m Here, Undefeatable, and Find your Flame are all good examples. Overall, this game is a very fun experience and I suggest just giving it a shot.… Expand

    From the controls, to the music, to the combat, to the story, and to the boss fights, Sonic Frontiers is the best sonic game in a long while and is a blast to play through From beginning to end. And while it is Far from perfect, It is a good step forward for the sonic series as a whole, and in my eyes it's a 10/10 for me. No matter what some guy on the internet tries to tell me.

    I was surprised how good this game was The Open Zone, Combat and hell the cyberspace levels are fun for me The Titans you fight as Super Sonic is peak this has to be one of my top 5 Sonic games (don't listen to dunkey fans play the actual game and don't put 0 just because youtuber said it was bad)

    I thought personally for the first time in a long time sonic team tried something new and I feel while the execution not flawless the ideas and new things they tried were incredibly fun and with enough polish this formula has potential to give birth to one of the best sonic games ever.
    PS all the dunkey fans giving bad reviews its just pathetic so maybe try doing something useful

    Sonic Team finally listened to fans, and the era of childish stories, restrictive gameplay, and unchallenging level design is behind us. This game is a love letter to us, and an apology. The controls are fluid and fun, the maps are huge and interesting to explore, the story is serious and nuanced, and the characters act like themselves again. Thank you, SEGA.

    This game is amazing and feels like a fresh attempt at something new. The controls are solid and require mastering and the character interactions are straight out of the I.D.W comics. Not to mention the music is godlike. If you like Sonic you'll love this game

    I've played the game but haven't finished it because I want to take my time and enjoy the game. SF is really good even though some enemies are annoying like the caterpillar. But I still love the game it's a 10/10 for me

    Honestly such a fresh take on the series and sure it may have its flaws, but it’s an AMAZING start to a new era for Sonic games going forward! The soundtrack is a major rock fest and it’s so great to just listen to the OST! The combat feels great and fun, the open world is huge and it’s so satisfying just to run throughout it!

    Even with review bombings this game still has a great user score LOL! Quite possibly the best game of 2022 and without intentional review bombings would have a 10 user score because it is a 10/10 game and a 10/10 experience.

The game is more polished than almost any other 3D Sonic game, and aside from a few camera mishaps runs perfectly on PS5. The graphics look great, the gameplay is solid, and the story isHonestly the best 3D Sonic since Sonic Adventure 2. El juego de verdad que le hace justicia a los personajes; los presenta como seres maduros y directos pero a la vez manteniendo su esencia inicial de los juegos anteriores. Las islas realmente son grandes, bellas, detalladas, interesantes y, conforme avanzas, un poco más retadoras. El doblaje de los personajes se siente natural y crudo, es decir, podemos sentir la emoción en las palabras; no es necesario poner bromas infantiles ni voces exageradas, no, se comunican muy natural como si platicaras con un amigo tuyo.
    Los personajes,por fin, muestran expresiones, gestos, gesticulaciones, movimiento de orejas y ceño, poses e interacciones increíbles, se ven muy caricaturescos pero no al punto de no verse muy infantil. Podría decir que se ven verdaderos a sus personalidad y relaciones. Sonic con Amy es directo y sincero, con Knuckles es competitivo y sarcástico, con Tails es como un hermano mayor para él, con Eggman es la típica relación némesis de ver quien es el mejor y con Sage es curioso y bondadoso.
    La mecánica de combate es increíble y hay muchos combos por hacer, las animaciones son muy buenas donde las extremidades de Sonic son estiradas al estilo de caricatura y le agrega un valor importante a la sensación de pelea de fantasía. La creatividad e innovación de pelea en un juego de Sonic va más allá que solo golpear con el cuerpo (lo cual puedes seguir haciendo) sino que agrega otros valores al usuario para pelear. Los JEFES FINALES y MINI JEFES son EPICOS e INCREIBLES, la música, la pelea, el escenario, combos, los jefes enormes estilo Evangelion, mini escenas/ animaciones, es verdaderamente hermoso; sentí mucha emoción al pelear como Super Sonic y ver como hay animaciones diferentes, partes donde picas un botón a tiempo o repetidas veces, así como los golpes finales, increíble y asombroso.

    La historia es completamente nueva, un poco lineal a mi parecer pero es porque no le entendí mucho pero ya es un tema personal. Es innovadora, seria, nos platica del pasado, Sonic corrompiéndose es algo jodidamente emocional verlo sufrir, sus amigos son verdaderos, Sage es una niña que solo busca proteger a su ser querido.

    Verdaderamente, es todo lo que pude haber querido de niño, buena música, buenos niveles, buenos personajes, una historia moderadamente narrada (pero es pq estoy tonto), mejores animaciones, seriedad de historia y desarrollo de personajes, mapas enormes, Super Sonic como herramienta constante, enemigos creativos, sistema de mejora de estadísticas, mecánica de combate, buen doblaje, diferentes ambientes (soleado, nublado, noche, lluvia), cinemáticas, y mucho más.

    Sonic Frontiers in my opinion a 8/10, however thanks to some youtuber's fans review-bombing this game it'll leave a 10 :)
    Please have your own opinion, if you did you wouldn't have all seemingly posted reviews at the same time. And if it is yours, then *someone in particular* pointed to you this place.

    Sonic Frontiers is one of the most fun and addicting games I have played in a while, especially for Sonic. The combat is really fun to use, the controls feel really good especially when you can customize the sliders on how you want Sonic himself to control, the puzzles while are simple at first later on get more difficult are very satisfying to complete, the story and the new characterSonic Frontiers is one of the most fun and addicting games I have played in a while, especially for Sonic.     There are a lot of trollish reviews on this site, for a honestly great game. and saying the story makes sense when you know the deeper lore in the game (not to mention trying to save Tails from the junkheap characterization he got from Sonic Forces). Overall, is the game perfect for the average fans, perhaps, but it is great game for a sonic fan.

    After completing Sonic Frontiers, I must say it is THE Sonic game ever made. One of the games of all time. Definitely a piece, no doubt about that.

    There are still some rough bits for SEGA to work out, but I’m giving this a max rating because it’s a huge step forward for them and what they have here is still very good.
    I’d love to see them improve aerial momentum, more versatile wall running, larger more free roam actual levels, and avoid floating boxes and rails in the sky. But still, 10/10 from me. Can’t    This game is awesome :)

    Sonic team is back, since Sonic adventure I have not seen so much love dedicated to a Sonic game, if Sonic Team continues on this path only good things await us the truth and if they polish the mistakes made here, even so if you are a Sonic fan I recommend it 100%.

    One of the best 3D platformers I’ve played. The open zone is full of things to do and the cyber stages are fun and addicting to speedrun. The music is awesome, especially during boss fights.

    A massive step in the right direction for the franchise! This game takes a fresh new approach to sonic gameplay while also offering a return to more serious lore building and plot. The characters are all written beautifully, the combat was intergraded naturally, and I'm so excited to see what comes next!

    Overall a very satisfying game with an engaging open world and strong story. A great step forward for the Blue Blur in gaming, while there are some slight issues with the environment such as pop in I would still say that it doesn't distract or detract from the immersive gameplay and characters. I recommend buying and playing for yourself even if you've never played a Sonic game before.

    Very fun game. A little rough around the edges in ways that could have been fixed with another month of polishing off but doesn't detract from the overall experience. Easily the best Sonic game we've had in over a decade and a promising sign of things to come.

The “Open-Zone” style of gameplay with Sonic exploring very large areas with tons of secrets, collectibles, enemies, and bosses combined with the more linear modern Sonic boost levels found around the islands make for a fantastic gameplayA fantastic new formula for years to come. The combat is a little repetitive, like with most action games such as the Batman trilogy, Spider-Man, even God of War; however, it's an amazing change of pace from more traditional Sonic games with your ONLY attack is the homing shot.     The idea and vision of the game is absolutely fabulous. In practice, however, the game is brought down by its execution, which you can see through after a short while and then the game has nothing to surprise you with. [Issue#324]

    There is nothing remotely redeeming about this game. Nothing that even the most die-hard loyal Sonic Fans would or should advocate for. I hope that one day someone who cares enough about this franchise could give us something-anything of substance. A fan can hope, can’t they? A fan can hope.

    Finally, after almost 25years of half measures and mostly mediocre titles, Sonic has finally reached the 3D levels of gameplay it needed to reach. Yes, the pop in is absolutely inexcusable and the ancient gatekeeping grindy methods damage the flow of the game for no reason, but a wonderfully built base exists here, with a highly entertaining adventure in wonderfully melancholic world and a surprisingly well founded story, thankfully clean of Sonic’s annoying 3rd tier friends!
