    One of the very best games I’ve played in a long time..challenging, engaging, & captivating. I put 74 hours into this masterpiece and got the platinum trophy…and with the addition of the save feature and the new photo mode (which is outstanding), I’m ready for more. Congratulations, Housemarque!

    Es un buen roguelike o roguelite como le dicen algunos, es muy desafiante llegando al nivel de frustracion al perder repetidas veces, pero al fin y al cabo cuando logras avanzar es una satisfaccion muy grande.
    El juego no vale los 80 o 70 que cuesta, en mi opinion unos 50 estarian mejor.

    A brilliant game. I was sceptical because this is my first roguelike game I have ever played and yes, it is hard af. All souls games seemed to be hard at the beginning but "practice makes you perfect definitely" so I beated all souls-like game on the market with big smile on my face.
    Atmosphere, sound and graphics are just amazing, gameplay is so addictive. I love this game.

    Truly an awesome game. IMHO easily one of the top 3 games on the PS5 right now (with Demon's Souls and Miles Morales). I would give this a solid 8/10 or 9/10 -> 10/10 because of all the trolls giving it a 0. Most people arguing about the game being repetitive don't even make it past the first boss... Git gut boys. You unlock perma-updates and shortcuts to the later sections of the game. IfTruly an awesome game. IMHO easily one of the top 3 games on the PS5 right now (with Demon's Souls and Miles Morales).     Returnal is one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played without a doubt. I usually don't go for bullet hell, or rouge likes, yet I can't stop playing this game. The gameplay loop involves calculating risk to reward ratios,is it worth it to risk taking on a malfunction to gain a potentially life saving piece of gear? It feels like every choice you are given involves deciding betweenReturnal is one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played without a doubt. It feels like every choice you are given involves deciding between two evils. This isn't an easy game, it isn't for people who want a nice and easy story game with a scripted series of events. This is a hardcore game where playing perfectly is VERY rewarding. Every hit costs you precious time and resources in your run. Playing safe isn't an option unless you want to never complete the second area.

    The controls feel smooth and we'll developed, the story is really interesting, the graphics are good enough, not groundbreaking but the environments have such a creative atmosphere about them, they almost make the graphics feel real. At times you will genuinely fear for your life, simply because the level design is that good.

    I can't give it a 10 however, because it needs some work in a few areas. When looking in a mirror, the fps hits about twelve. From what I have heard, late game, the game could crash, ruining your hour long record run. A few visual bugs have cropped up, sometimes in cutscenes, but usually when picking up items. There will be the item description, as well as a description for a fabricator over the description, despite no fabricator being in the area. They aren't big issues, they certainly can be fixed, but even if you aren't usually into hard games, you would be a fool not to pick this one up.    … Expand

    The game can be frustrating and can really get you sometimes, but i hung in there and it paid off hugely towards the end, the combat is addictive as hell, story is atmospheric and mysterious, 9/10 overall, helback only by some light RNG mechanics.

    Great roguelike with a lot of potential. Really surprising IP that's both unique and ambitious. A lot of depth to the mechanics that slowly build as you get further into the game. The runs are long and punishing though. If you're a fan of games like the soulsborne series you'll get a kick out of this but it's definitely not for those easily discouraged .

    Me parece una maravilla de juego, personalmente nunca había jugado una clase de juego así ni mucho menos de tal categoría. Sin duda estamos ante un exclusivo de PlayStation que sabe aprovechar todas sus funciones y sacar su mayor partido. 10/10.

    Excellent jeu ! Au niveau techniquement déjà c'est hyper impressionnant et ça fait vraiment next gen. Pour l'aspect theory crafting le jeu est juste INSANE ya tellement de possibilités entre les parasites, les reliques, les consommables etc. Beaucoup de variété d'ennemis, des biomes bien différents et du challenge. Bref une pépite !

    Good graphics with great artistic view. Amazing sound design, you can feel each shoot, each jump, each alien tentacle with the 3D audio. Perfect gameplay; fast, intense, precise. Hard, a real challenge for hardcore gamers.

    Perfect game and the best next-gen experience made so far.

Housemarque utilized the dual sense and 3d audio to the best I've played. Of course the lack of saves kinda suck but Its to be expected with this kind of game. My personal opinion based on my experiences is, this game is like the love child of Dead Space, Mass Effect, Destiny, and Dark Souls with “new age” roguelike gameplay. If you spent as much money as you did on the PS5, don’t debate whether or not to get this game.     It’s tough but fair. If you die it’s because you screwed up. The overall atmosphere is chilling. The entire game is basically a cosmic horror story about one poor woman stuck in a time loop in a world where everything is trying to kill her.

    The dualsense5 support is just amazing. From now on I will be thirsty for this feeling for any shooting games. This is the future ! I hope haptic feedback and adaptive trigger become standard features on other platforms as well. And every supporting game achieve this level as Returnal has done.

    I've been playing Returnal for many hours and I'm totally immersed :o, it's really challenging but incredible. I love play with the Dualsense, the argument is great and Selene is a wonderful character. Am I facing a new Playstation classic? I highly recommend give a chance to this game

    Enjoyable gameplay, fantastic audio, outstanding dual sense mechanics and an interesting background story. It is challenging, but that adds to reply ability and makes it fun to try and improve. I hope they add a save & continue later feature - other than that, I’m really really impressed by the game. Truly next gen!

The game is a rogue type game which means you will die a lot and the learning curve and difficulty is pretty steep but it’s essentially the point of this genre. You learn and get better with each death and uncover more of the plot. Whenever you die you restart at the beginning trapped in a time loop. It seems very difficult at first and it is but as things start to click and you get you’re style and combination of weapons and perks how you like it gets significantly easier. My one negative is the save feature.i knew it wasn’t going to let you save so that you could keep returning to that point even in death but I expected a temporary save of you have to quit game and come back to it later. The game currently doesn’t have any save feature at all and can make it very very difficult for people not used to this type of genre or difficulty. As you get better runs actually are much shorter so the save becomes less of an issue.

    Other then that the game is amazing and although it punishes you, when you succeed there is nothing like it.    … Expand

    Haven’t had this much fun since Bloodborne. The experience these games bring is just really different. It’s very challenging but you feel really great after clearing an area or beating a boss! Oh and the graphics are amazing, what a light show! How the game is right now is fine by me, but could do better with an optional save feature for the more casual gamers.     Shortcuts are unlocked as you progress so you can very quickly get back where you were after dying. 10 hours so far and no crashes, no loading screens, everything is instant including fast travel

    I haven't been able to take my hands of the controller playing Returnal, truly a masterpiece. Everything from the visuals, 3D sound and how it utilises the incredible dual sense controller is just outstanding!

    Great game, 3D audio is well done, love the atmosphere, it's beautiful, never been a fan of roguelite or roguelike but this game hook me up in the first run, gameplay is addictive, biome are beautiful. the story is strange and cool enough for me to wanted to know more. Resogun is up to this day one of my favorite game on PS4, Housemarque didn't disappoint with this one.

    This game is phenomenal! The gameplay, the enemies, the audio feedback. Everything feels great together, it is fun to play and it keeps you engaged but what makes me the most excited are the bosses and elites. This game surpassed my expectations completely.

    Great game. Graphics are awesome and buttery smooth animation. 3d sound what can i say very good. Haptic feedbacks hell yeah. One big issue saving please fix this.

The combat itself is fast-paced and intense, especially in this game's many boss encounters. Despite being quite the challenge, Returnal's combat is really fun when you learn to get good and understand it. Overall, despite not being a game for everyone, Returnal is a joy to play for those into the roguelike genre with its addicting RNG and fun and engaging combat.… Expand

    Easily a 9/10, but the instability of the game (~10 crashes in ~12 hours of gameplay) coupled with the fact that this is a rogue-like is absolutely brutal. Nothing ruins a run like that... Seriously needed to put the game away for now because I can't put in the effort to finesse a nice run, and then get rewarded with a crash.

    I've put like 40 hours into the game, and I enjoyed most of that time. While true, that a random crash would hinder my progress at a rare occasion, it did not disencourage me from picking it back up. The more time you put into the game, the easier it becomes, due to unlocking new artifacts and consumables, weapons etc. The atmosphere and tge original story are things to behold. That's basically the first rougelite I've played ever, so the formula took some adjusting on my part. But now, after finishing act 2/3, I'm breezing through the earlier biomes, which only shows the personal progress. Also the great visuals with tons of particle effects, as well as excellent use of ps5 flagship features (3d sound, adaptive triggers, haptics) pull you in on a different level.     This game is basically perfect. Never before have I ever gone into a game with such expectations and had them not only met but surpassed! Ever since the first couple of trailers, I went total media silence on this game - I wanted to avoid everything that could even be close to a spoiler. It led to an amazing experience and I wish I could replay it all again from that perspective.

    The game has amazing balance, everything is perfectly fair. The game is so well balanced and crafted, it could be seen as a disadvantage since I didn't lose to a boss beyond my first encounter with the first biome's one.
    Selene is such an incredible character that has such a mind blowing evolution as the story continues. The first major revelation in the story literally left my mouth agape. It's going to be hard to compete with how good Returnal is for future games I play.    … Expand

    An excellent fun shooter. You die a lot. And start again. But it doesn't get boring. The map is always new. And challenges are always different. So it doesn't feel too repetitive. Especially since different weapons change how you play the game. I'm more of a casual gamer and It's a great game to play for hours on end.......or just for 15 minutes now that you can save anytime you want.

    A perfect example of the performance of the PS5 and all its functions. Great gameplay and the music catches and won't let go until you get to the bottom of it all. But in the end, the final may surprise you unpleasantly.
