    This is a great game that at times can be very rewarding and incredibly fun. I enjoy the grinding, the rouge-like gameplay...the whole atmosphere of the game and its story is perfect.

    I just can't forgive this great game for the lack of saving. The game does just fine saving my permanent equipment, and how much Ether I have in my inventory when I boot it up. Am I out there "save scumming" for my Ether? No, because that's stupid. Will this become just another third person shooter if I can actually save where I am after an hour and go to bed? No, because if it works anything like other indie games in this genre that cost a fraction of the price, it will let me pick up where I left it and that's it.    … Expand

    If You like metroid style games, this is the game what must have for you!!! Fantastic atmosphere, very nice and complex artwork, fantastic vibe, nice engine and beautiful environment. I love this game, I think it will be the game of 2021.

    Brilliant Game, Usually not a fan of rogue-lite games but the atmosphere, the use of the PS5 features, and how addictive the gameplay makes this amazing. 10/10

    When I first began playing Returnal, I felt a feeling of excitement that I haven't felt since the first Mass Effect game. Returnal hits on so many levels. Next Gen graphics, amazing sound design and presentation, and my God is it fun with its awesome shooting mechanics. The attention to detail screams triple A title. It reminds me of my time all those years ago with Super Metroid. And forWhen I first began playing Returnal, I felt a feeling of excitement that I haven't felt since the first Mass Effect game. Returnal hits on so many levels. Next Gen graphics, amazing sound design and presentation, and my God is it fun with its awesome shooting mechanics. The attention to detail screams triple A title. It reminds me of my time all those years ago with Super Metroid. And for the first 20 hours, I was fine with its rouge lite setup. Now almost 40 hours in and still working on the third boss, my thoughts are starting to change. To be clear, Returnal is absolutely a fantastic game that deserves your attention. But the frustration I am feeling lately and the frustration I'm sure other players are experiencing keep it from being a classic. The game design stacks too many odds against you. The risk always outweighs the reward. I think Housemarque missed an opportunity to sit right up there with games like Horizon, God of War and The Last of Us. Instead, because of its ridiculous difficulty, Returnal will go down as a great game that kept a lot of gamers away, and will ultimately fade from memory as other games release.     Not sure where the appeal is with these Souls games but they are definitely for a niche group of "gamers" specifically those who are masochists. Returnal is about as much fun as doing a two-step barefoot tango across a bed of lava. At no point during your playthrough will you ever feel a sense of relief. The game will also crash very often so be prepared to lose a lot of your progress often.

    Never really played a game quite like this but damn is it addictive. The struggle is immense but gameplay is sensational and feels so good once you achieve your next objective. Wouldn’t recommend for easy going or casual gamers as this one truly requires commitment and a fairly high degree of skill.

    This is one of the unique third person shooters i ever played. The game is giving me enough challenge to make it addictive. The movement of the character is smooth and gun play is one of the best in 3rd person shooters.

    The lack of a save option is terrible with such a difficult game. You can play for hours and run into a boss that’s super tough, die and Then BOOM, right back to the beginning.

I had 2 reconstructors, a revive, MANY upgrades and a badass weapon. Come to find out they decided to update the game on meover night and poof there goes my save. Lost everything . Yeah I can go back but after all the grinding I justThe game is fun, and well built but this whole saving thing is not the way to go.     This game is an amazing AAA experience, it shows how great the PS5 is with its SSD speed and insane Dualsense controller. 4K 60fps with some raytracing and the crazy amount of particle effects makes this game the best next gen game. Highly recommend it if you like shooter or rougelites.

    I'm losing so much sleep over this game. It's haunting, intense and addictive. It feels kind of like a Dark Souls shooter. The sound is incredible. And I've never seen so many particles! I'll shut up now. I want a sequel already.

    This is honestly one of the best games I have played this year. The Dualsense, the 3D audio, the visuals all are amazing. The gameplay of this roguelike is awesome and although i think there is room for improvement, Housemarque did an awesome job with this game. Hard af too haha

    This is the biggest surprise in the year. It broke all my expectations as it brings back many things that I love in the video games. The gameplay is very fun and the story is blowmind. Only suitable for people who love and accept the challenges

You die endlessly, every run is random some you do amazing some you do not so amazing. When you die you start completely over with nothing, all your time all your progress just gone and who knows this run could be harder than the last. There’s no way to make subsequent runs better or easier. It’s just not for me too bad as this console desperately needs some fun games that can show case what it can do and this disk might as well just get snapped in half for me.… Expand

    El juego es una porqueria, ya llevaba mas de la mitad del juego con un monton de armamento mejorado aparte de ser fastidioso ya que es muy repetitivo el jugo, justo al comenzar la pelea el enemigo suelta un poder tan expansivo que la ps5 no pudo aguantar y se crasheo, por si fuera poco al momento de iniciar de nuevo el juego se me borro TODO lo que ya tenia mejorado, es una porqueria de juego.

    Es repetitivo, los gráficos no están a la altura de un next gen, se nos engaño con el 4K (no es 4K) . No es un triple A como lo han querido vender, más encima se cae a veces y el fallo del guardado por dios, ojala lo arreglen pronto con un parche pero definitivamente las reseñas o están arregladas o jugaron otra cosa.

Nada mas alejado de la realidad, es un juego muy divertido y que con cada reto que te pone mas te atrapa. Facilmente he estado jugando de 6 a 7 horas seguidas jugandolo, tambien me haMe encanto Returnal. After the 17th death, I begin to wonder if I truly want to solve the mystery of Selene and the planet Atropos. Now, don’t get me wrong, I didn’t jump into the game not knowing that dying constantly is the point of this rougelike game. What I didn’t factor is how difficult and frustrating it felt to play the game. There are no options to change difficulty levels (closest is to enable Auto Aim to High) so the game is punishing to people who expected a casual RPG-like stroll.

    Those aside, it is a great technological achievement. Great use of haptic feedback for the weapons, 4K ray trace enemy orbs and weapon projectiles are hypnotically mesmerizing. The opening scenes is truly an immersive experience with great combined usage of spatial audio, fantastic graphics and haptics.

    But all these bangs and whistles get neutralized when you are still stuck in the first biome after 2 hours of grindingly repetitive runs. If you thinking whether to get the more expensive deluxe version or the standard, choose the standard. The deluxe comes with better weapons but you don’t get them when you respawn. They are placed closer to the beginning of each run so you have to look out for them as you traverse through the first few rooms.    … Expand

    The game is incredibly dynamic and addictive. The longer you play, the easier it is to pass biomes, remember the locations and the behavior of enemies. Defeating the bosses after 4-5 rounds is just a blast of dopamine! Returnal is different in its genre.

    Really good game that I’ve actually played unlike some folks on here. Challenging but once you get the swing of things it’s really fun. So far hasn’t felt repetitive my whole play through. Going for the second play through to get the “true ending”.

И вот со временем в игре начинаеш чувствовать момент когда пора идти на боса, а до этого были тренировки на промежуьке игры.

    Best game of 2021 so far. The dualsense integration it's just amazing, the 3D sound is on point, the gameplay is very challenging but very fun and addictive. The lore is surprisingly deep, the colors are just beautiful. But the crashes are keeping me for giving it a 10. Some people were affected by the 5th May patch, saying it corrupted their saves, I updated the game and played with noBest game of 2021 so far. I can live well without a save option because that's what makes the game so interesting, knowing that if you die you just restart the whole damn thing.     Most importantly: This game is crazy fun. It is challenging but fair.

    Also: Great atmosphere, sound, visuals, mystery. Good customization and interesting items.

    Downside: The only issue is the lack of a pause/save for when real life gets in the way. Other than that, this game is absolutely fantastic.

    Genuinely so much fun. All of the features like haptic feedback and the ssd make it feel like a truly next gen experience. Not sure why people say this is harder thank Dark Souls, it really isn't. All in all, I have been blown away by the experience this game has provided me. Upon beating it I have to say this is likely my game of the year. Thanks Housemarque!

The dualsense 5 takes things to a whole other level. Yes the game is challenging, but after 38 hrs played there hasn't been a time I've died and not instantly jumped back in with excitement.     Of all the roguelikes I've played, returnal is by far the most polished and straight up fun. From all the well-executed staple mechanics you'll find in similar rouguelikes to all the incredible ideas housemarque has implemented, returnal deserves a solid 10 for making one of the best ps5 games to date.

    A Housemarque Game on another level. This game is basically a enhanced version of Nex Machina in 3d with a rogue like system of Hades, Dead cells, Enter the gungeon and some alien and silent Hill vibes. Its a challange but a ez challenge depending how good you are in games generally. If you liked any Housemaruqe game before like Resogun you neeed to play this too.

    The story was intriguing the gun mechanics and movement speed were fantastic! The Boss fights were unique and fun the game runs great on PS5 I experienced no game crashes or glitches personally but I give this game a 9.2 it's a fun addictive shooter I loved it.

    Excited as i always am about a new game for the playstation family i did not know if i was going to like it being roguelite since i never really player any game like it. But how wrong was i. From the moment the intro cinematic started. And the haptic feedback started kicking in i was already blown away. Combine with the haptic feedback it was just amazing. And the way the adaptieve triggers are used to have the alt fire and the zoom is very well done. With my first run lastig a couple hours(since i want ed to check everything and just look at the amazing details) i got to my first boss encounter and it was amazing. Although i failed when it was almost dead and found out how painfull losing everything could be. It only made me hungry for more. And I absolutely love the punishing way the game does not let you Save mid run.

    While skeptical at first about this type of gameplay. Housemarque blew me away with the incredible atmosphere and gameplay. Although i can understand this game Will have a select audience due to the style and difficulty of the game. I would say this is an absolute must play on Ps5.    … Expand

    Don't buy this game now, wait until it will on sales or in ps+. I had preordered a deluxe version of this game and finished it within 15 hours. But i didn't get trophies because of the deluxe version outfit which is broken even in the current version of the game.     Beautiful, super replayable, and tough enough. It's like Sony Metroid + Ikaruga + Enter the Gungeon + Groundhog Day with some of that spicy salsa that I really like at the nearby taco truck.

    Best game of 2021 for me, absolutely loved it from start to finish, and the platinum trophy was also very fun and challenging although a few of the files were needlessly hard to get and took literally hours upon hours to get to spawn, I don’t let trophy’s reflect my score and I absolutely loved this game.

    Returnal is a phenomenal experience. From the concept to the top notch gameplay and graphics, to the Haptic Feedback and 3D Audio. Housemarque really bring their A game.

    I have never really been into rogue like games. But I cannot stop playing this! It truly feels like the first “PlayStation five“ game we have gotten. The haptics, sound design and graphics are just incredible. The gameplay is so addicting, guns sound and feel fantastic, and movement/exploration is a blast! I’m pretty convinced anyone that “hates“ this game, either hasn’t played it orI have never really been into rogue like games. But I cannot stop playing this! It truly feels like the first “PlayStation five“ game we have gotten. The haptics, sound design and graphics are just incredible. The gameplay is so addicting, guns sound and feel fantastic, and movement/exploration is a blast!     This game has tegridy. Perfect mix of gaming genres and perfect mix of sci-fi tropes. Feels wholly original and unique thanks to the story and visuals. It’s an infinite loop arcade shooter like Enter the Gungeon, but in a sexy next gen package.

The PS5's SSD is doing a lot of work here. - Amazing, addictive, and visually stunning gameplay and gunplay. - Intense moment to moment gameplay/combat. -    Housemarque has created a brilliant game.

    Conclusion:
    - If you love unforgiving roguelike games with an atmosphere that is tense, creepy, somewhat scary and gives off a lot of horror vibes, then this is the game for you.
    ALSO
    - If you want a game with an amazing and addictive gameplay and gunplay with intense moment to moment combat/gameplay, then this is the game for you.

    ( Experiencing the 3D Audio and all the DualSense features is absolutely amazing and add A LOT to the immersion.)

    LASTLY!! This is very important to know before you buy Returnal!!
    This game is EXTEMELY DIFFICULT. Be aware of that before purchasing this game. Playing through ACT 1 will be a breeze. ACT 2 is when the difficulty of this game cranks up to a hundred. Once you get into ACT 2, you start to ask yourself whether you are playing the same game or not.    … Expand

    A masterpiece of a game! Fully utilizing the features of the ps5. The haptic feed back and adaptive triggers help the immersion as the 3D audio is astounding! The game play is fast and fun. The cycle system is reminiscent of risk of rain 2. The combat is challenging and smooth. The item system is excellent. So many cool features in the game to discover.

    Great Game. Love the particle effects and the Lore. The audio and the dual sense haptics make me feel the environment. Enjoy the gameplay loop and enemy variety but can be quite challenging for some.

    Returnal feels fresh, I'm so glad that Sony took a big risk and provided Housemarque (indie dev) with a big budget and helped them to make a triple A roguelike game and it paid off! This game feels amazing, it's one of the most immersive games I've played outside VR, incredible use of Dual Sense and 3D Audio and silky smooth 60fps framerate, can't stop playing this game! Perhaps the best adaptation of PS5 upgrades, the 3D audio is a very impressive part of the game that is well done and the haptic feedback paired with the adaptive triggers are just at another level.

    Although the graphics arent the best on demand, they are very well up there. The story was something that always intrigued me from the beginning as I have been a big fan of timeloop movies (albeit never played similar games). I can see some people getting frustrated over this as when you die you lose all progress and weapons however the challenge comes back at you with a fresh perspective and I was constantly learning new combinations of weapons and perks found on the journey.
    I must say however, this game is not for everyone and I can see it getting review bombed as people may not like the style of the game - but this doesnt make the game a 1 or 2 or even 4/10. The challenges were at a whole new level.

    This game is jaw-dropping amazing. The graphics, the gameplay, the story, the atmosphere, the music, the use of near every feature in the PS5 controller...the whole vibe is just astounding! Be warned though, it is not for the faint of heart. The average person will die, a lot. This is normal for a rogue-lite-like game. If you were able to weather the difficulty of others in this genre orThis game is jaw-dropping amazing. The graphics, the gameplay, the story, the atmosphere, the music, the use of near every feature in the PS5 controller...the whole vibe is just astounding! Be warned though, it is not for the faint of heart. The average person will die, a lot. This is normal for a rogue-lite-like game. If you were able to weather the difficulty of others in this genre or even something souls-like them you will have what it takes to weather this bullet-hell storm too. To put it into perspective, I died probably 6-8 times and took around 10-12 hours just to beat the boss in the first biome. There are six total, but each time you die in biomes 1-3 you start back at 1 (unless you buy a checkpoint). Once you get to biome 4 then that becomes your new respawn biome for 4-6.

    Good news is that the biomes are procedurally generated so no two runs are ever the same. It is a grind, but with each new run you get better and unlock more items and storyline.

    I highly recommend this game to anyone who doesn't get bothered by dying and trying again from the beginning. Once you beat that first boss, the feeling is so satisfying. Then it's on to the next grind! It will test you, and only the strong willed will endure.

    A perfect example of the performance of the PS5 and all its functions. Great gameplay and the music catches and won't let go until you get to the bottom of it all. But in the end, the final may surprise you unpleasantly.
