    A game which has a good story, but once the game is complete it feels like there's no more reason to play, and it becomes empty. The sidequests are boring, and usually they feel boring and meaningless.

    I'm a long time fan of the series, and while I appreciate the graphics and weapons feeling, I must say this is my least favourite of the franchise.

    My biggest gripe with the game is the story and character development. First, Ratchet and Clank are a mere shadow of themselves. Their personality is nothing like the old ones; they are just different characters all along. Next, Rivet,    I'm a long time fan of the series, and while I appreciate the graphics and weapons feeling, I must say this is my least favourite of the franchise.

    My biggest gripe with the game is the story and character development. First, Ratchet and Clank are a mere shadow of themselves. Their personality is nothing like the old ones; they are just different characters all along.
    Next, Rivet, while she is not terrible as a character, she is basically Ratchet but better in every way. What I mean is while they destroyed Ratchet, they made Rivet take the crown as the main character of the game, which she is without a doubt. I mean, we play her over 60% of the game, and you can't even do the arena with Ratchet.

    To me this game is like Star Wars 7: a big middle finger to all time fans. It's all shiny and good looking, but that's not what makes a movie or a game great. If you're looking for game for your 10 years old, grab an old PS3 and get the Ratchet and Clank collection. It's cheaper and better.    … Expand

    This game is a ripoff, the final product has a considerable downgrade of what they showed in the trailer, plus Sony charged 79 usd for a 6 hour long campaign! This is a bunch of bs.

    La verdad que no me gustó mucho el juego, demasiado corto, encima el precio muy abusivo a 70 usd, siento que tiré demasiado dinero a la basura, por 5 horas nomás. Encima este juego puede correr mi PS4 que aún tengo, una mentira lo del SSD de Play 5, hasta en una pc con ssd más o menos decente se puede jugar. Y bueno a jugar Fortnite y Warzone, ya que no se que jugar ahora en mi PS5.

    Definitely not anywhere close to a 10/10 especially when compared to it's price point. The game is a beautiful journey with lots of different weapons and gameplay options. The storyline isn't too bad, pretty generic at times though.

    Cons:
    - Horribly short especially for $70. i put about 15 hours into the game. Just feels a bit disappointing when you throw $70 at something.
    - Saw quite a few glitches/bugs. One level didn't load any of the platforms I was supposed to be standing on and I fell instantly to my death.    … Expand

    Rift Apart's a fun game with a few funny stuff to enjoy the gameplay. Ive played with 120 fps (120hz) in performance mode and the visuals are stunning! The best thing of Rift Apart is his visuals.
    The game has great story but has a few bugs too....and Rift Apart's too much short game.

    Its a game to be enjoyed without stress

    Le pongo un 8 porque me ha parecido espectacular pero es corto, ya que en 17 horas me he pasado el juego y conseguido el platino. Por lo demás es una gran muestra de lo que es capaz PS5 haciendo que por ejemplo en una pelea de un boss cambies de escenario unas 5 veces, eso es bastante innovador y tiene una gran variedad de arsenal e incluso en new game + esas armas tienen una mejora queLe pongo un 8 porque me ha parecido espectacular pero es corto, ya que en 17 horas me he pasado el juego y conseguido el platino. Rift Apart sees the iconic duo at their blandest yet, with all character traits that made them what they are stripped away. These characters are hardly recognizable from their earlier works, finding themselves more reminiscent of their 2016 movieRatchet and Clank's return for the PlayStation 5 falls flat across the board for it's filler story, repetitive gameplay, and bland characters. Rift Apart sees the iconic duo at their blandest yet, with all character traits that made them what they are stripped away. These characters are hardly recognizable from their earlier works, finding themselves more reminiscent of their 2016 movie counterparts. The Gameplay this time around has some new bells and whistles, but isn't enough to save itself from it's own laziness and mediocrity. While this game marks a first time in the main-series that Ratchet has to share the spotlight with another gun-toting hero, Insomniac takes the easy/lazy road by having both Ratchet and new character, Rivet, play identically. Both share the same weapons, gadgets, upgrades, and even ammo count, with very little rhyme or reason. However, despite the fact that they play identically at all times, the game does not allow Ratchet and Rivet to explore areas the other character traversed during the story, even though their is no reason for that either. Many planets and almost all the enemies are ripped straight from previous entries, and while this game boasts the most new weapons a game in the series has had in over a decade, many of weapons are reskins of each other. 3 blaster type weapons and 3 shotgun type weapons, in addition to several weapons that just act on their own with no input required from the player, and you have an arsenal that appears plentiful on the surface, but is shallow in actuality. It surprises me that this game has received the praise it has, which may be due to the low amount of new titles available on next generation consoles. This game may need to be reevaluated after more interesting titles have made their way to the PlayStation 5. For now, while their may not be many options for new PlayStation 5 owners, for $70 Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is not worth it's next generation price tag, and should be avoided for those over the age of 12.… Expand

I personally encountered a few clipping bugs when around some objects on the first level got caught by a plant and vine/bench when the scenery transformed during a rift change. Some of the platforming wasn't as smooth as I liked. The dragon should have been landable anywhere not just on its nest. The costumes were nice but it's a shame you couldn't choose the perks from them and wear a different costume. I liked the story and characters. The game is short however and finishable within a day The cheat system for collecting all the goodies(bolts/spy bots) makes the final boss trivial. I like the fact that anyone can complete this game and feel nice about it. Due to the minor glitches, a little shorter gameplay than i would have liked, and still no Lombax convention, I have to give it an 8.… Expand

    Ratchet and Clank: A Rift apart is a fantastic looking game wit some fun, if not revolutionary gameplay mechanics. Every thing is visually stunning and the world is just a joy to go through. Ratchet himself is an annoying character, and I oftentimes wish that Rivet was the main character in the game. The game could could have been longer considered the asking roice. But solid game nevertheless.

It is the storyline that is lacking. Point - there isn’t one. Have played 3/4 through the game and really, it’s about smashing and shooting than the flimsy premise of a story. Sorry guys but you dropped the ball andNowhere near as fun as the previous instalments of this series. Very long opener which was a touch overdone.     Is this my second favourite Ratchet and Clank game and it is an amazing fun game but sadly a bit too easy. I really like the new female character. I think they are more interesting than the male Richard and Clank in this game and I truly enjoyed the story graphics and all of that but sadly I couldn't enjoy it fully because it never will change me I tried on the highest difficulty and itIs this my second favourite Ratchet and Clank game and it is an amazing fun game but sadly a bit too easy. I really like the new female character. I think they are more interesting than the male Richard and Clank in this game and I truly enjoyed the story graphics and all of that but sadly I couldn't enjoy it fully because it never will change me I tried on the highest difficulty and it just never really challenged me.But it's still an amazing game and a lot better than that f****** remake of the original one.… Expand

The story is just OK, i expected the story to teach more about the Lombax and at the end it focused more on Rivet than Ratchet and Clank. The gameplay and soundtrack are perfect. The thing that i dislike more about this game is the amount of glitches and bugs i encounter in myRift Apart is a really good game, it's fun and very enjoyable. But I think Insomniac played it very safe. The story is just OK, i expected the story to teach more about the Lombax and at the end it focused more on Rivet than Ratchet and Clank. The gameplay and soundtrack are perfect. The thing that i dislike more about this game is the amount of glitches and bugs i encounter in my playthrough, i haven't being able to 100% the game because of a glitch is not letting me get the last golden bolt. It's really frustrating. So this game is an 8 imo, not the best R&C, not the best PS5 exclusive but a good game nonetheless… Expand

    I would give it a 9 if it had a better pricing. Very good game, with great graphics and gameplay and an interesting story but it's definitely not worth 70$ at launch. I recommend to buy it and try it out on a sale, you won't regret it.

    THE GOOD:
    and this section is going to be the longest so stay tuned...
    This game with its visuals is something really earth shaking and the people behind insomniacs animation teams and graphics engine are truly magicians! If there is one thing i need to understand is how insomniac games managed to deliver Spiderman miles morals as cross gen and Spiderman remasterd and ratchet and clank rift apart all within less than a year!? achieving technical aspects in visuals and graphics like never before and taking full advantage of the ps5 hardware, with faster loading times and the whole rifts and dimensions stuff is something unbelievable! and i dont think that even third party games will make anything similar to this game or something that will take advantage of the ps5 hardware like first party games do. And a quick mention to the graphics modes like performance rt and performance mode are great but i preferred fidelity mode for that sharp image and effects and i am ok with that 30 fps that on a screen like mine its hard to notice. i am truly a fan boy of insomniac games!
    Gameplay wise well, i have been playing ratchet and clank since day 1 on the ps2 as a kid who just moved into underwear from diapers. I have played almost every ratchet and clank out there and rift apart is the most ambitious one of the bunch out there delivering things the title hasnt seen before like the shadow dash as well as new weapons, But in big its just like its always been but improved with a much smoother gameplay rather than arcady or clunky and it is just right here.
    Sound design and soundtrack and music is unbelievable! If you have 3D audio headset or the ps5 pulse 3d you are in for a blast of a sound!!! This game really does deliver audio that i dont think even returnal has managed to deliver. Its a joy to listen to this game even if youre just standing somewhere not doing anything it really feels like youre in that universe.
    Presentation wise and world and attention to detail and the rifts are such a game changer! Thank to the ps5's hardware i dont think pc's will get to the level of releasing games in this level anytime soon. The attention to detail and animation and level design is something that makes you really fall in love with this game. World and map are made on point! and so much work has been put into them!
    And characters wise its so hard to talk about cuz i just love every one of those characters and my gosh this game is really something! by the end i clapped my hands with a smile and was so happy for the experience of this game and i cant wait for a sequel! All the characters are well acted and designed and made in such a fashion that even the new characters introduced into the series are characters i fell in love with!

    THE BAD:
    As a vet of the series i gotta admit. There is nothing to do after you finish the game and collect all the collectibles which are easy to find. The worlds are small yet detailed but they get really boring after you finish the missions within them. And the glitch missions are annoying! Like honestly i was so glad i finished with her, It was pointless and short and really didnt feel necessary. Clank puzzles are the worst they have ever been in the series! They are extremely easy and all of them are literally the same!!! I would really want to see in the future, more of secret agent clank missions and other activities like racing or collecting the captain quark cartages and playing the mini games or exploring more of the world and doing more activities rather than just collecting and doing main quests in the world. The universe of this game feels empty compared to other previous titles. And the game had issues like showing objective icons and having a few bugs like where npc's would run away from me but they werent game breaking and easily fixed with a reload.

    OVERALL
    I love this game and if you read the good and bad you know why this game is an 8 for me and with a lot of love! I truly want to see more of the series and sadly we didnt get that big ratchet and clank game just yet. Its a great way to show off the ps5 capabilities but i feel like all the focus of this game was on that rather than the actual game as a whole. After 2 playthroughs (the game is short) i think im done with this game, i have no interest going back into it anymore as much as i did when i played the 3rd game on the ps2. Was a hell of an experience but made me want more.    … Expand

But you will love this game if you connect to it and you'll like this game (like me) if you didn't connect. Overall, a great experience on PS5. Doesn't overstay it's welcome, I Platinumed this game at 17.5 hours. So theIt's a good game, unfortunately I personally couldn't connect with the game I don't know why.     High octane action, amazing voice acting, touching story, and beautiful graphics (just eye candy for you to watch). You can feel the passion that the developers put into this game. The only complaint I have is the lack of enemy and boss variety. You must play this if you have a Ps5. Worth the 70$ for the replayability. I feel bad for people who haven't gotten a Ps5 yet.

    Also a very good story, good combat and very likeable caracters. Rivet is a nice addition.

    This is the best looking ratchet and clank game but thats about the only great thing about it.
    The gameplay is decent, the guns are ok but nothing truly stands out. The levels are all forgettable, the enemies are not varied enough, the bosses are all the same and overused. the music is poor but by far the worst thing abut this is the    Overall im fairly dissapointed with this entry.
    This is the best looking ratchet and clank game but thats about the only great thing about it.

Shooting with tactile triggers is poorly implemented, it is very inconvenient to hold the button halfway, well, these are most likely features of a very weak dualsense resistance. The game is VERY short, paying the full cost to complete the game in 3 squats, which does not reach the full cost. I advise you to buy at discounts.

    This game is not a joke, it lasts 4-6 hours, it lasts longer and if you want to get the platinum trophy it will keep you entertained for a while 10-12 hours, after that there is no more. In the promotional trailers it shows moves that cannot be done in the base game. Unlike the previous Ratchet and Clank where they opted for a trans-media experience with an animated film, here they did nothing of that and it is applauded since the character is not at all charismatic.    … Expand

    There isn't much depth in this game and the xploration is not very rewarding. They needed to add a bit more tatical character building stuff that you needed to use on harder difficulty for the adults and hardcore gamers. As it is now it's perfect for a casual gamer or kids, but of you don't fit in to those categories then you will be bored pretty quickly like I was.

    I never got to play any of the older installments in the series, but after playing this epic sequel to the 2016 game, I wanna play the old ones right now. This is truly a fantastic exclusive for the PS5.

    - The dash cannot be animation cancelled into a melee attack, meaning using dash as an offensive move is all but useless

    While the main campaign is quite easy, it is the challenge arenas where the combat in this game really shows its cracks. Unlike Doom or Returnal, where skillful movement can make you untouchable for long-stretches of combat, in this game, enemies have a random spray to their fire. So you WILL get nicked by seemingly unavoidable, off-camera damage (the extremely low FOV doesn't help either). In the challenge arenas, you don't get much health recovery, so every hit REALLY matters. So without a way to skillfully avoid damage or recover health, too much is left to chance.    … Expand

    I just finished playing this game for the second time. So far this is my ps 5 favorite game. Like ratchet and clank on ps4 (I did),your gonna love this. I haven't had this much fun since playing zelda on n64.

Gunplay in this game is extrodinary, extremely engaging, and never gets old. The directing is superb, and the writing, although occasionally too cliche or cringy, is very good.     I didn’t much care for the story as I’ve never really been invested in the R&C games but the gameplay and graphics were absolutely phenomenal, I would wait for it to drop in price then I absolutely recommend that people try it

    A true "Next Gen" experience especially with the Controller. The only Reason why i diden't give it a 10/10: Sadley i had some Gamebreaking Bugs two Times. The Heart in the Endboss was invisible what made me restart a Chapter and Ratchet was in a endless loop of falling and dying what made me restart a Chapter again.

    me di la oportunidad de jugarlo, y es extremadamente corto, muy rapido de pasarlo, a nivel gráfico no me quejo pero tiene algunos fallos de texturas interesantes, no se si se debe a un error de mi consola pero el juego calentaba bastante mi ps4, lejos de ello es entretenido pero cuando más interesante se pone se termina

    OMG this game is incredible. I much like the PS4 original game but Rift Apart is just insane. The visuals are top notch, 60 fps and raytracing and 4K dynamic resolution shows the full potential of next-gen gaming. Rift Apart is one of the many reasons why you need a PS5. Insomniac has made a fantastic job. Chapeau!

    I am giving 7 out fo 10 for one reason only. The game is short for its price tag. I believe that a game that costs as much as Rift apart it should be at least 30hrs long

The roller coaster level in particular is an exhilarating experience. The art direction has great thematic design similar to a Pixar movie sporting a Wall-E/Incredibles aesthetic.

    Insomniac delivered again. Great game, really displayed the power of the PS5 even though I had higher hopes for the story. But it was a fun, short ride. Recommended to people who like 3rd person action games.

    Ratchet & Clank is a great shooting game, extremely frenetic, with very beautiful visuals and an interesting proposal to say the least

    The story gets a bit of a backdrop, as the focus is entirely on gameplay. Furthermore, the game "innovates" with the optimal use of the PS5's SSD power, and the transition of worlds/dimensions is just unbelievable. Not to mention the game's    Ratchet & Clank is a great shooting game, extremely frenetic, with very beautiful visuals and an interesting proposal to say the least

    The story gets a bit of a backdrop, as the focus is entirely on gameplay.

    Furthermore, the game "innovates" with the optimal use of the PS5's SSD power, and the transition of worlds/dimensions is just unbelievable.

    Not to mention the game's graphics, which even with a slight downgrade compared to the trailers, still look extremely beautiful and worthy of high-budget 3D animations.

    However, some of the problems I've seen in the game are a lot of bugs.
    Sometimes the game just crashes and I need to restart it, or the character is stopped and I can't move it anymore.
    Of course there will always be bugs in every game, but the amount I had in Ratchet is rather worrying, and I would say it can spoil the gameplay to some extent.

    Another point of the game is a repetition on enemies, who mostly do the same thing, and it turns out that the whole game is quite repetitive (on the other hand, there are weapons we can use, which are very varied and have different and fun features)

    And for me, one thing that made me extremely upset is the duration of the game, which is quite short.
    I finished the game in less than 20 hours, and it doesn't have much replay factor (at least for me), which made me very upset as it technically didn't make up for much of the high price of the game.

    Overall, I give a grade 8/10
    Ratchet innovates with the PS5's SSD and its world transition, as well as having beautiful graphics and fun gameplay at various points
    However, it has a lot of bugs and at some point the game becomes quite repetitive, taking away the relatively short duration, which doesn't compensate for the high price of the game.

    Don't get me wrong, the game is AWESOME, but it still has a lot to improve, and I hope that in future updates new content and several enemies will be added, which will be really cool because this game so far is one of the most promising PS5 exclusives from next-gen (so far)    … Expand

    It is a beautiful game, but I encountered a ton of glitches in my play through. I had multiple boss fights freeze, or I would clip through the map after traveling through rifts. The worst clip happened on the final boss fight and kind of killed the moment for me. Overall, I enjoyed the game, but I have like 15 minutes of 30 second clips of glitches saved on my console because of this game.

    If I wanted a kids game, I would have bought a Nintendo. The positives! Great graphics, and really show what the ps5 can do, but the game itself is so repetitive and boring. Thank God it's only 7 hours long!

    Decent game but just your typical bad story good graphics. Too many young fan boys hyped this up yet the in game interactions are laughble as the environment doesn’t move as an example you go through grass and trees and they don’t move. The reality of the game doesn’t draw you in with little things like that.

    Un título que no evoluciona de sus primeras entregas, si bien usa tecnología ssd para lograr una mecánica de teletransportación entre dimensiones cosa ya se había logrado con titán fall 2, que nadie recuerda por lo demás el personaje femenino no presenta nada de mejora narrativo ya que es un solo un skin.

    Une fois qu'on a dit ça, on a fait le tour du jeu. Le titre est court, les 2 personnages jouables n'ont de différences que le visuel    Pourtant fan de la série, cet épisode m'a clairement déçu.     A cela il faut ajouter cette "escroquerie" des fameux portails mis en valeur pour le SSD. Rien de révolutionnaire, Portal le faisait bien avant lui et d'autres jeux depuis. Moi qui pensait qu'on pourrait créer nos propres portails et aller d'un monde à l'autre, c'est loupé.

    Par contre, j’ai eu le droit à 2 gros bugs. Le 1er après un passage dans un portail, le monde avait totalement disparu et je marchais dans le vide intersidéral. Obligé de « trouver » un trou pour me suicider et faire réapparaitre le niveau…
    Le 2ème plus chiant où j’ai cru que j’allais devoir tout recommencer, c’est dans une arène où je suis tombé dans un trou. Dès lors le jeu m’a fait réapparaître dans l’arène mais je ne pouvais plus bouger. Le pire étant que même en mourant, ça me faisait revenir au même endroit sans pouvoir bouger. (idem en éteignant le jeu et en chargeant la dernière sauvegarde). Heureusement, j’ai pu loader une sauvegarde Check point un peu plus vieille, mais pas trop pour relancer le jeu… J’ai cru que j’allais devoir effacer la sauvegarde et tout recommencer au début…

    This game is too short. The developers are charging $70 for what is basically a PS5 tech demo that lasts under 6 hours. That is extremely expensive. The last Ratchet & Clank game had a $40 price tag. The greedy developers had the audacity to charge $30 more for this game and they didn't even bother to make the campaign much longer.
