История начинается с того, что злобный доктор Нефариус своим нападением испортил городской праздник в честь Рэтчета и Кланка, вывел из строя измеренитель - устройство для путешествия по реальностям, попутно закинув героев в параллельную вселенную, где им, собственно, предстоит решить вопрос починки устройства.

    Но не все так просто. Мир, в    Первое, о чем хочется рассказать - это сюжет. История начинается с того, что злобный доктор Нефариус своим нападением испортил городской праздник в честь Рэтчета и Кланка, вывел из строя измеренитель - устройство для путешествия по реальностям, попутно закинув героев в параллельную вселенную, где им, собственно, предстоит решить вопрос починки устройства.

    Но не все так просто. Мир, в который попадают Рэтчет и Кланк оказывается суровым местом, в котором другой Нефариус стал императором и насаждает свои не самые гуманные взгляды населению. И естественно с таким тоталитарным режимом активно борется сопротивление, частью которого является и Ривет - версия Рэтчета из параллельной реальности, которую все уже видели в роликах игры. На протяжении игры героям предстоит встретиться друг с другом, собрать заново устройство, позволяющее открывать разломы в пространстве и победить доктора Нефариуса. И все это под аккомпанемент неплохих шуток и ярких персонажей, как новых, так и уже знакомых фанатам серии.

    Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart представляет собой полностью законченное линейное одиночное приключение, не заставляющее игрока тратить несколько десятков часов на исследование открытого мира и гринда всего и вся. Геймплейно - это боевик с небольшими элементами платформера и головоломок. Как и в предыдущих играх серии, в Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart игроку доступен по-настоящему большой арсенал из довольно забавных и крутых пушек. До уровня Armed and Dangerous с ее пушкой, стреляющей акулой конечно далеко, но арсенал действительно разнообразный и практически каждое оружие находит свое применение. Что-то хорошо подходит для уничтожения скоплений противников, что-то лучше для одиночных целей и боссов.

    I was hesitant on buying this on day one ( or almost), because I have a long queue of games behind me, buutttt, I could not resist with this game, I loved the last one + this was my first ps5 game and I wanted to check the graphics , rendering speeds, ray tracing etc etc , oh man this game does not disappoint on any front!     This is my first entry in the series, I used to ignore R&C games to play Jak instead.
    Insomniac made me look at this masterpiece, smile and fall in love.

    I almost didn’t think this game would live up to the insurmountable hype that preceded it, but somehow those maniacs at Insomniac did it. It is EXCEEDINGLY rare for ANY modern AAAgame to capture what made gaming fun in the past while also taking advantage of what next-gen technology can do—these guys put those two respectively amazing concepts together and just threw in some amazingI almost didn’t think this game would live up to the insurmountable hype that preceded it, but somehow those maniacs at Insomniac did it.     After spending 7-8 with the game and almost Platinuming it the game presentation is gorgeous and voice acting is done well but the gameplay and variety is not as innovative as I was expecting where I hold hope for the next one when the ps5 has been out for a few years will truly be something to see would I remember yes but not at the £70 price tag wait for a drop or preowned

    Kind of dissappointed with this one, because it was one of the only games i was looking forward to and is my first R&C game. I don't like going fully into details, so i will try to keep it as simple as possible. Graphics are a solid 9/10 (once i have seen an upgrade from ps2 to ps3/4), nothing can really surprise me with graphics. So graphics are great whatever. Game play wise? As i said,Kind of dissappointed with this one, because it was one of the only games i was looking forward to and is my first R&C game.     - Teases Lombax Dimension but never go through with it (again?)
    - Ratchet and Clank now even bigger soyboys than they were in PS4 game/movie
    - **** Lombax OC created by Sam Maggs
    - All NPCS you meet are friendly and "quirky"
    - Humour is virtually non-existent
    - Crappy motion capture in cutscenes
    - Literally no one shuts the **** up during gameplay
    - Ratchet and Rivet have exact same moveset instead of giving Rivet her own unique moveset
    - Rift Tether too gimmicky and adds nothing to overall gameplay
    - Trudi and Speedle move like ****
    - **** puzzles, and **** herself, annoying AF
    - Clank puzzles exist
    - Arena challenges lacking and too easy
    - ****-tier voice acting (sucks that Jim Ward got Alzheimer's and Covid but I'm glad he didn't star in this ****fest)
    - Generic Marvel-esque OST
    - Next game will most likely be Rivet and Kit spinoff that still won't take them to Lombax Dimension

    La historia, sin destacar demasiado, está perfectamente acompañada por una jugabilidad que ya conocemos anteriores juegos de Ratchet pero infinitamente mejorada dada la magnífica y original variedad de armas.
    Los    El juego es SUPER divertido. A parte de los gráficos y el apartado técnico que su calidad se antoja evidente y totalmente pulida, el juego es divertido, que es lo importante.

    What a beautiful game. The graphics, sound and story absolutely loved the game. I definitely recommend for Ratchet fans and anyone new to the franchise. The more i play games with the dual sense features the more i fall in love with the PS5

    Best looking game you could play right now on any platform. Super fun and intense gameplay. Tons of accessibility options. Majestic graphics and Ray Tracing, even in the 60 FPS Modes. Great story and Amazing characters. Decent length (15 hrs for the main story). Very replayable.

It took me almost 20 hours to platinum- so it is on the shorter side, and I definitely would’ve loved another 10+ hours of this game. Also the best part of this game are the visuals- this is the best graphics I’ve ever seen on a console game. It’s truly stunning.     This is the first actual next generation game that truly shows what PS5 is capable of. Amazing gameplay with a lot of variety of playstyles. Incredibly detailed locations, every planet has it's own style and provides unique gameplay features that make every planet memorable.

The gunplay, exploration, graphics, and load time are so amazing I can’t even put into words just how much I love this game. I would have liked a little more enemyWOW is this game incredible.     Honestly I had an awesome experience with this game from the narrative that is awesome, to how every character has a different personality, the SSD incredible, the graphics are truly awesome. I only tried Performance RT and I just can't believe what insomniac can do to deliver such an awesome game. WIZARDS!

    As a lover of Ratchet and clank I can say that this game is wonderful in many aspects, the only flaw is the combat, I expected something more but it is still very acceptable.

That's all the stuff that's been advertised since this game was first mentioned and its the thing that sticks out while playing it.
    What those ads dont do is tell you about much else, outside of being able to play as Rivet, Ratchets female counterpart from another dimension. While the story is a fairly by the books plotline, Rivet really steals the show here. Her motivations and character development feel very realistic and Jennifer Hale does an outstanding job really showing her quirks and how she functions. She's easily the best part of the game and the game knows it. She gets alot of screen time, almost to the point where Ratchet himself is kinda pushed to the side. I dont blame them for doing so as she's a great character and I expect to see alot of her in upcoming games, maybe even getting a spin off on her own someday. Gameplay-wise there's not much new here. It's typical R&C style 3rd person over the shoulder shooter combat with not much added to it. Its fun but they clearly didnt do much to change anything up. While the weapons can be fun to use, it just feels like its going through the motions here. Nothing too memorable but its entertaining to use them.
    For the first brand new, non-remake style game since the PS3, R&C is clearly going to be the PS5's best showcase as to a reason to buy the console. I wouldnt call it a system seller myself, but that's hardly a problem with how hard it still is to find one. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to show case to their friends or family as to the biggest increase from the previous generation of consoles. Plus its still a very fun game to play. It's also a very easy game to get the Platinum trophy for, running me maybe 15 hours total to 100% it for anyone who cares about that stuff.    … Expand

    Best graphics this generation. Amazing art style and character designs. Extremely fun gameplay loop with very original weapons. Rivet is just a lovely character and very charismatic . Dualsense integration is top notch. Truly a ps5 killer app

    This is the closest to cinema quality I have seen. There is no line between cuts and gameplay. The haptic on the controller and the triggers is great. This is the first time playing a game I am not thinking about the next graphics card or console and what could be next.     A very pleasant game in terms of storyline and setting. Beautiful picture and effects. Very nice and fast gameplay. I really liked the new characters! It's a shame that there are no more board races. Glitchka's character beams viruses through a shooter, in a game that is already a shooter, it's not great. I would like a puzzle.     Ratchet and Clank is finally back! This is on par the great classics of PS2 years. Graphics are great but what is most important here is the gameplay and this delivers! This is a must buy! 9/10 (loses 1 point for some minor but anoying bugs which undoubtedly will be fixed promptly)

    I have had a hard time getting into video games recently. Im not sure what it is, but its been difficult to want to pick up the controller and play. But I recently got a ps5 and while I normally don't play platform type games ( I prefer single player story driven games like LOU and God of war and such ) I love this game just a few hours in. And it actually feels like a next gen game.

    My expectations were exceeded, as a fan of the series from the first game released in 2002, this game has blown me away on every single level, Insomniac have set the bar for what a PS5 game should be. Graphics, gameplay, story and reliability is just fantastic.

    Proper next gen title... and then some. Probably the best R&C game ever and one of the best games of the year. Insomnicac did an immense job with this title and the only bad thing about it is that a game this good and polished takes A LOT of time.Can't wait fo the next one!!!

    Graphically Rift Apart is stunning and an exciting glimpse into what this generation of consoles (and new PC games by extension) will hold.
    The most critical critic review mentions too many bugs. and in my dozens of hours I've encountered 0 game bugs, 0 crashes, and only a couple UI bugs. Floating text broke away from a tab in the menu when I navigated too quickly, but it goes away the moment the menu is closed and didn't inhibit my playing at all.    … Expand

    ratchet and clank wow it has been so long since i played a solid canon ratchet and clank so what do i have to say about this game ? a short beautiful experience

    the music and sound is very good props the the music creators

    the world building is soooo good you can just stop and look around you and see rifts opening and closing and so much stuff going in the background

    the game is very cinematic for better or worse they took the idea they did with spider man ps4 where you look at a cutscenes most of the time and after it smooths you in to the gameplay in ratchet and clank it is cool and fun at the beginning but later it just becomes tedious

    the weapons have so much verity and are so much fun there are some lazy designs but overall it is a blast to blast those weapons'

    cons:

    although the gameplay does feel like the og ratchet and clank games the writing is just trash the game just felt like a very toned down and predictable Disney movie i just feel like ratchet and clank writing just lost its edge

    rivet is a fun character and even though she's not yelling how woman are the superior being and all that sjw bull she barely gets any back story or any explanation about her out shines ratchet at his own game and felt like a very rushed character for the sake of introducing a female lead

    there are barely any sides quests and when there are some its just go collect 60 orbs or 50 stones i mean really ? no side quests in a ratchet and clank game that's just lazy

    the game is 11 hours long and i went back to collect some stuff and i did every puzzle and just 11 hours really ?!?!?! at the end i felt like they went all tech demo on us and the game was more look how the ps5 is a good console than look at our new cool game

    in conclusion ratchet and clank felt like a beautiful over glorified tech demo it is good in term of gameplay but falls short in so many other areas the game is fun and cool but i will only recommend it if there will be a discount1 at full price its just nah so my final score to ratchet and clank is a 8 out of 10    … Expand

This is my first PS5 game so it was a whole new experience for me full of anticipation and scepticism.

    The graphics are a good showcase of a next-gen step, with three options between performance and resolution. This also the drawback, however, as when I played for high-resolution the framerate really suffered and was hard to un-see, so I spent most of the game in the two performance modes. Having said that, seeing up to 60fps is a game-changer for me. Things feel so much smoother and more immersive. Since this is an early PS5 game, it will be interesting to see where things go from here. I was quite impressed with how well the fps held up when action became hectic on-screen.

    The gameplay is very familiar to anyone who has played any R&C game before, for better or worse. What's new is the dimensionator that is quite well advertised. In the game however, I found this a tad gimmicky, as it functions as a glorified grapple-hook most of the time. There are times when you do shift to another dimension and the loading times for this is amazing, but these are also scripted and are still welcome as they provide a refreshing experience as previous R&C games I always felt 'stuck' on a level until I completed it.

    I give the game kudos also for accessibility, especially in terms of difficulty. Even on the easier levels there can be close calls with getting killed so this makes the game very appealing to a mass audience.

    What grinded my gears quite a bit were the 'mini-game' sections where you play against the virus or as Clank navigating three consecutive puzzles. Doing this once is fine because it's a break from the otherwise hectic action, but I ended up skipping Clank's final puzzles (again thank you for accessibility!) as they were very tedious and irritating - basically a 2021 version of Lemmings.

    It wouldn't be R&C without the crazy guns, and here there were more than enough to keep me occupied, and levelling them up is a great mechanic to encourage me to use a variety. The Warmonger was probably my favourite due to its sheer power.

    One very annoying thing I did notice is that when you get hit there is a stun animation which feels like it lasts forever in-game, really disrupting the flow of combat. I found this really irritating but I suppose there needs to be some consequence for getting hit, and the jetpack boots help make traversal more enjoyable.

    The story of R&C finally takes a step outside the box here. While Rivet is almost identical to Ratchet, I still found it refreshing to hear different voice actors. I've always enjoyed the camp humour of R&C and Rift Apart is no exception. The game gives you a coherent story with purpose, motivation and payoff, ticking all the right boxes. Whilst having different versions of the same characters seems repetitive and cheap, it also prevents the game from overloading us with endless forgettable characters, although I was a tad disappointed to miss out on the plumber this time.

    I think the game deserves special credit for not padding itself out with filler content. This wasn't the longest adventure, but it also wasn't one that bored me with grinding or endless fetch-quests.

    Overall, Rift Apart doesn't actually bring much new to the table but what it does right, it does very well. Despite some very familiar game mechanics and cardinal sins of gaming such as colour palette changes, the game actually manages to be engaging and enjoyable. Everything I love about R&C is here, although the price is something I do not like at all.    … Expand

    It's a must play game the graphics are amazing the story the world the characters and everything in between is above and beyond the only thing that i didn't like is that there's not much enemy variety but it's not a big issue because the game is short

    This game is one of the best games that I've played, amazing story, very impressive landscapes, best graphics I've seen to date, gameplay is awesome and still brings back that classical Ratchet & Clank feel but taken to the next-level with the power of PS5, please buy this game, worth every penny.

    Amazing game, best graphics and animations I have ever seen. The story is great as well. Can't think of a single time I was bored playing this. I highly recommend playing on the hardest difficulty.

    This game is definitely a leap over its predecessor. The graphics are so dense and detailed. So much going on screen with highest quality I ever seen on my sony x900h. Its mind blowing and absolute treat to play. My GoTY alongside Returnal.

    Good game, much better than the Remake we got on ps4 however i wish it was longer, kept me wanting more and hopefully theybmake Expansions for it and DLCs and if not i cant wait for the next game.

    What’s so good about this installment of Ratchet and Clank is that it is a true labor of love. There is no other way a game can feel so good, play so well, and take you on an impressive adventure all without that special ingredient to keep it going. The definition of a next-gen title, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a must-play that will leave you super satisfied and hungry for another big game like this one.
