    Big fan of the ratchet and clank series although I felt the story was too short. May have just been me and time flew by quickly but I was wishing there was more at the end. Still phenomenal game and a great example of this new generations possibilities.

    I am not a hard core gamer but I am glad that there is a rookie level. I am at level 5. Normally I can’t pass level one on these games but paying 70 bucks makes you try harder lol I love the graphics and unique level of play. Not sure if I can finish it but hey at least I got further than expected.

    Muy bonitas graficas pero saliendo de eso, todo lo demás es mucho peor que el de playstation 4, demasiado fácil y corto para los 80 dolares, como la gran mayoría de los juegos de playstation , mucha cinemática y narrativa pobre y poco gameplay innovador, lo siento. Mejor vean una película de Pixar.

    Once again, 'A Crack in Time' still remains as the best game in the series. If you're a hardcore Ratchet & Clank Fan, Rift Apart will definitely disappoint you. Rift Apart has amazing graphics, but thats where the good begins and ends. The story is completely watered-down and doesn't acknowledge any of the previous entries in the series. Ratchet and Clank are sidelined to make way forOnce again, 'A Crack in Time' still remains as the best game in the series. If you're a hardcore Ratchet & Clank Fan, Rift Apart will definitely disappoint you. Rift Apart has amazing graphics, but thats where the good begins and ends. The story is completely watered-down and doesn't acknowledge any of the previous entries in the series. Ratchet and Clank are sidelined to make way for their female counterparts who are not fleshed out properly given that the game is at most, 12 hours-long.

    Gameplay is the exact same as it was in 2009, but with new, underwhelming weapons. No, you don't get to personally modify your weapons. Its the same boring system that R&C 2016 had where you slightly upgrade 'ammo-count' or 'slightly increase damage', which leads to every player having the same weapons by the endgame. No space exploration as well, which is disappointing. The writing is terrible, with cliche & cringey lines about friendship and "doing the right thing".

    The best thing about this game is how the controller feels when you shoot a gun. It feels exciting when you fire a shotgun with both barrels by fully pressing the trigger on the controller with resistance.

    No idea how people are giving this 9/10's or 10's. If you want a game to shut-up your kids, this is it. However, if you're an adult, you should really get help.    … Expand

    Absolutely terrible. This game basically plays itself. You can watch a video on it and have the same experience there is no point to buy it. Lazy game.

    I struggled to find anything wrong. It was a pleasure from start to finish: Insane graphics and performance with addictive, smooth gameplay, amazing use of dual sense haptics, side/mini missions I actually wanted to complete, and a host of quality of life improvements on the previous PS4 version.

    You can't go wrong with Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart. Easily the best buy for ps5 so you can have an immerseful experience with the dualsense! Totally recomended

    El mejor juego del 2021, gran variedad de armas, historia entretenida, personajes alucinantes, jugabilidad perfecta y sin tiempos de cargas prácticamente ademas de unos gráficos a muy alto nivel. Ademas de ser una saga legendaria, es un juego que no decepciona y que merece la pena tener.

    Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is just phenomenal. It has great and likable characters, fun and satisfying gameplay, great level design and gripping soundtrack. There are some minor problems like invisible walls in places you wouldn’t expect, but overall it is an absolutely fantastic game that you don’t want to miss!

    Really enjoyed the game. Im a big fan since childhood, and this takes me back in. Some of the ps3 games were not that good, and the ps4 game was really bad, but this one really is a master piece. I dont give a 10 because i miss Ratchet personality being more edgy.

    4,5 hours of game excluding its cutscenes. 6 hours of game including its cutscenes. Same mechanics, gimmick controls, it was very promoted for its ssd abilities, yet in game the game loads way slower than it was advertised. Hit boxes during fight moments do their own things. Bitter feelin once youll beat it cause its not worth of even $20. This game should be rented for a week at max price of $4.

    The gameplay plays similar to previous ratchet and clank games. If you haven’t playing a previous Ratchet and clank game. It is basically a behind the back shooter with melee attacks and exploration mixed in.
    Upgrades are based upon a collectible in the game you can collect while roaming around but you can also grind it in arena combat mode. The game is    Lets talk about the gameplay

    The game is easier than previous ratchet and clank game even on the hardest difficulties.
    Their was a side quest where it ramped up the difficulty so high and its nearly impossible unless you are lucky or have perseverance. It was weird that this specific side quest(glitch sidequest) was ramped up to 100 for some reason and not the difficulty in the normal gameplay
    There are annoying parts with the game especially the fog of war or what ever you call it in some areas which is an annoyance.
    I like the two character system but please remember you spend less time as ratchet vs the other character.
    there are bugs on the arena world where you can not access the holovids where you can’t see the weapon cutscene or dialog.
    In most ratchet and clank games, they usually make new weapons and in this game most of the weapons were re-used and only 1 new weapon were actually fun and useful (the negatron collider).
    The secret weapon was useless because the rocket launcher did more damage than it which is kinda weird when it’s a secret ultra omega hidden abandoned forbidden weapon.
    Gameplay is just solid in all regards. I give it a 1.5.

    Let’s Talk about the Music
    The music in this was alright in all aspects. It felt natural towards the feel of the game that I have no qualms about but I don’t remember a lot of aspects of the music.
    Background Music felt fine and nothing grating.
    Special Scene music felt find and nothing grating.
    In my personal Opinion. It was fine but nothing memorable.
    it has an audio level issue, had to reduce music and sfx to adequate levels so I could hear the dialog.
    I feel this deserves a 2.0 in this aspect

    Lets talk about the performance
    The performance of this is S-tier.
    Solid 60 fps with raytracing on and off.
    Never had an issue, no frame drop, no screen tearing, no frame timing issue.
    Beauty in disguise.
    They treated their queen correctly.
    2.5 is their reward.

    Let’s talk about the story
    The story is what I would say the most part I didn’t enjoy as much as I did.
    The story started off very very strong, and I was smiling the whole way through.
    Bosses were good and everything, it just felt rushed like crazy.
    this game needed to be fleshed out more. every area we visiting felt like 10-20 minutes their then we dipped.
    I get it is supposed to be a short adventure but people didn’t pay 70 bucks msrp for a short adventure.
    If it was a short adventure, people should paid like it was a short adventure.
    I was expecting near the end of the game to be another boss but I’m like huh what, that’s it.
    You get more info on the plumber if you want to know about that person.
    If their was more story to the game I would’ve liked it a lot but not at that price point.
    I’m giving it a 1.5 because I am expecting more storyful experience for a fully priced game at msrp

    In Conclusion
    This game is worth a 7.5 but you should not buy it at msrp of 70 bucks and wait to buy it @ 30-40 bucks and get playstation extra and play it.
    This is more so a glorified tech demo with ratchet and clank so they can advance the story of the game as well and sell the console.
    I am saddened because I really do love ratchet and clank, I feel in love with the series on the ps3 with tools of destruction when it released.
    I truly hate that I have to give it this review score but I must.

    Certainly way better than i expected! Wih its all music, atmosphere, scenario it felt like i am in an animation movie which is about adventure. As a animation movie lover, playing Rift Apart opened my horizon about movie-like games. I hope we never stop to make classic arcade games ^^

It played surprisingly well on fidelity mode too which I thought would be unplayable. Story is alright, and just like everyone expected the humor doesn’t hit like it did back in the ps2 days. Seems to almost be an incomplete games at times which I think is just an insomniac thing at this point. Make it just good enough to be considered a great game even though there are some things that could’ve been polished up. Firstly is the platforming, somehow that took a step back, jumping up on various things can almost feel janky at times. There’s also big sections that are defined on the game map that look like they should be secret areas. Instead they are empty and sometimes provide no way to return which can result in having to restart at a checkpoint. This can be seen i think the most on sargasso. Also they still do the thing where if you stray too far outside the world map you just instantly die. I hate that, these are cool alien worlds. Have a monster come out and gobble you up like in older games. It’s just a weird thing that never needed to be changed, I’m guessing it’s just one more thing to animate and they figured people wouldn’t care. Like I mentioned before exploration can be a little unrewarding at times. Also a weird thing I found is the animations can be way off from the actual hit boxes when out exploring areas, not combat I mean like boulders where you start clipping through while trying to climb it, stuff like that. That’s just straight up laziness. This isn’t a very long game, I don’t see why they couldn’t have polished that stuff up, kinda disappointing for a game that’s supposed to be the next big thing and change everything. Anyways still a solid 8 just because I had such a fun time playing it. Definitely recommend it if you have a ps5.… Expand

    Absolutely loved the game. Insomniac's games have sometimes been a bit hit or miss for me but Rift Apart is fantastic in almost every way. Excellent characters with a good storyline and gameplay.

    The only slight miss were those puzzle levels with Clank. I get that they wanted to break up the gameplay a bit but I wasn't feeling it.

    Incredible game, for me until now best ps exclusive on ps5. Great graphics clearly made for next gen and not cross gen, great story interesting even for folks that never played ratchet, great gaming mechanics, rewarding weapons build up and collectibles… Really well worth playing and great start for ps5 exclusives.

This game has the perfect level of difficulty on the hardest level. I actually ended up getting all of the collectables in this game and that's something I rarely do. The level design is also absolutely fantastic.

    The gameplay is the same Ratchet and Clank I played on PS4. Harkening back to the days before twin sticks, this is not so much a shooter as a beat’em’up with guns. The weapons have a nice fun factor. Though none of the weapons seem as crazy as the old Sheepinator, I have a lot more of this game to play. The gameplay does not feel as good as a shooter, but then again, no shooter has the fun world traversal of this kind of game. The games story is your basic map traversal, destroying all enemies, and triggering a cut scene. This kind of game was never my thing back in the PS1 and PS2 generations. I was all about shooters and strategy games on PC and Xbox. There is no nostalgia button for me here. I see the limits on gameplay as a limit on how much fun I can have. I have no issue with the humor in this game. I would like to see more of it. I also have no issue with all ages wholesomeness. I could fill this game with more cute animal aliens. I see this game as a launch window title to tide over players until the big games like Horizon and God of War release. For a PS+ Extra subscriber, this is a nice surprise.

    In christmas holiday I played this one, High on Life and Tempestfall VR. This one was the weakest of the 3 altough it has the highest reviews score (playstation exclusives seem many times to be unbalanced positive and thats also the case here). But its still a decent game with very good graphics. It has its good moments but also its bad ones. The metacomputer puzzles are annoying.

This could have been easily solved for example by making certain enemies more vulnerable to certain weapons, as was demonstrated masterfully in Doom eternal. Additionally, some of the controls are a bit cumbersome and there isnt much room for vastly customising them to help make switching between dash, etc more smoothly.

    The set pieces and level design are done quiet well, and when i consider the game as a whole I understand it s target audience may not necessarily be interested in razor edge death combat, and thats fine. While it might not wholly be to be liking, I am still happy that this game came out and has something to offer for everyone.    … Expand

    First AAA game I've played in years that I've really enjoyed, even played new game+ which I also haven't done in a long time. Beautiful game. Gameplay is extremely smooth. Could have used more side quests but I love the ones that exist, quality over quantity imo.     As an long time Ratchet and Clank fan this is one the best entries in the series. The visuals and action scenes are truly spectacular. By far the best gameplay the series has ever seen. The only negative thing I have with the game is I wish it was longer!

    Hoping Insomniac continues to make great entries into this beloved series.

    Very good game, my only criticism is it was a little on the short side, even to achieve the platinum trophy only took around 20 hours ish, but don’t get me wrong it was a fantastic game and my kids absolutely loved it, would have easily gave it a 10/10 if it was a little longer, but decided to give it a 9

Rivet the new character is charming and i would love to play her new standalone game. The story is quite weak but still an enjoyable one insomniac did an amazing job on this one highly recommend if you have a PS5.

    Ratchet and clank rift apart is another excellent game by insomniac. the variety of weapons and environments is really good and it's graphics and lightning is so incredible that it looks like a pixar movie. however I enjoyed ratchet and clank 2016's story more and sometimes rift apart enemies and it's gameplay feels repetitive and the game is too short

    If you are like me who grew up with the classic PS2 and maybe the played the PS3 and you saw this game at store. You think This will be like old time again. Yes and no . No point of saving bolts for your progressive game. The writing is pretty much how mordon Pixar is these days just okay. The old game had something similar to futurama TV 14 . The PS3 Was Pixar at it's peek quality.

    Very fun to play. Story is very funny. Gameplay is very smooth and it is in fact a nice showcase for most of new PS5 features. Storyline is very short though, I finished it in four days. But this is a game that you would like to play over and over in non story mode.

    Simply amazing, the show case of the PS5 in time/space travel shows how much gaming have come along and how tech wonders started kicking in even for consoles. From gameplay to story, character to nartive and upgrade sytsem, weapons its alltogether a very enjoyable game. one of the best R&Cs without a doubt.

    This is truly a next gen, from the graphics to the no loading between levels and switching between maps while playing. The only little nitpick is for me is some action you need to do are sometimes not very clear and a indicator that an enemy is behind me would have been nice, but this is just nitpicking. Thnx Insomniac for making very good games

    Cons: a bit short for $70 game (~18 hrs if you do everything) with not a lot of reply value. Accessibility for all ages make the game a bit too easy (even on hardest setting) and lacking in depth.

    This has some creative ideas visually, and is stunning in many places. The combat is refined and very fun. You’re missing out if you don’t pick this up.

Also, if you truly explore the beautifully designed areas, look for collectibles, and do the optional side missions, this game can definitely take you well into the 25+ hours mark. There is also an NG+ mode for people looking for an even tougher challenge. As someone who never really dived deep into the Ratchet and Clank series, I can firmly say that this game is a true masterpiece that should be experienced by every gamer that owns a PS5.… Expand

    I'm 93% done with the game and I can say that this game is truly a gem that needs to be experienced firsthand on the PS5. This has by far been my most favorite platform genre of game on the PS5 and I would not hesitate recommending it to anyone else.

Hopefully they will become a main stable for the series from here on out. The gameplay was fun as ever even tho I mostly ended up missing some of my favorite weapons like the groovitron or the sgeepinator. The dimensional stuff shown in the gameplay fits very well into this platformer and gives this game way more depth during combat than the earlier titles. The ai is one of the best in the series. The story itself was amazing as well (even though a bit rushed at the end imo). All in all a very good game that I am happy I picked up. The wait was worth it. Cons: the game was way too easy to platinum. Even easier than the ps4 game. The game is almost a bit too short. I feel like 3 more worlds and a more fleshed out ending would have given this game the perfect length. There are still a lot of bugs in the game. Most are only grafical but I also encountered some bugs where I clipped through the floor. Finally the price is too high. In my country 80€ for amount of content ain't great. As memtioned earlier it felt like three was something missing. Like a more fleshed out ending. All in all a brilliant game. While a crack in time still remains as the best RnC game Rift apart manages to hold it's own next to it. The game is way more than just a tech demo for the ps5. This game not only continues the journey, it pushes it to newer heights than ever before by expanding their universe into a multiverse instead.

    Ratchet and Clank return as our heroes but are quickly joined by two new characters, Rivet and... well, let's just say another. At no point in this game do you ever feel like there are only 2 main characters, rather it's always 4 with the story wonderfully focusing on them all equally along the way. As you explore several planets and meet the people who live on them with a balance of space travel and supernatural, it's hard not to think of Star Wars or other space opera stories as each location is as delightful as the last. With witty dialogue, a lot of humor, and downright wholesome and emotional moments, the cast feels so wonderful to spend time with. With PS5 technology you can also feel this through all their facial expressions, which compliment the beautiful world and environments surrounding them, as well as the stunning animations. This game simply looks beautiful at every twist and turn.

    Gameplay wise is also another level of perfection as each weapon was made with intention by the developers to be "someone's favorite" which makes each one feel so good to use. Mix this in with super intense boss fights, lots of fun challenges, and the levels themselves being a rush to play, and you have a game that you never want to put down because you're having too much fun. The music also reflects this by always having the perfect ambiance in each level, battle, and making each cutscene more intense.

    There was no one part of Rift Apart that made this game perfection, because every piece of this game's foundation was perfect as they built it. Personally, my favorite part of this game was it's characters. Ratchet is still our hero, but Rivet gets this whole game to build her up as 'also' our hero. Emperor Nefarious is wonderful, and that's all I'll say about that to avoid spoilers. But the new characters were not the only reason the characters were my favorite; the overall character development and dialogue of this cast knocked the whole game out of the part. They have real struggles, real growth, and so many wholesome moments that are too adorable for words! This game is seriously a good feels game from beginning to end, even when things are going bad for our heroes, you always have a shining light. And usually, that light is the cast itself.

    I could go on for several more paragraphs on what a perfect game Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart is, but in short: Amazing story, fun to play, intense from beginning to end, fantastic (and wholesome) characters both old and new, and both the continuation and beginning of a great world.     What’s so good about this installment of Ratchet and Clank is that it is a true labor of love. There is no other way a game can feel so good, play so well, and take you on an impressive adventure all without that special ingredient to keep it going. The definition of a next-gen title, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a must-play that will leave you super satisfied and hungry for another big game like this one.

    The experience is so captivating, you’ll probably want to blast through the entire 10-15 hour story in one go. But the final is really disappointing: basically, the entire game is just a warm-up, while the important events will happen in the next one. [Issue#254, p.36]
