    Some many flashbacks from my young age, when i played ratchet 3 on ps2, my first console game.
    Amazing colors, effect ? so many weapons and upgrade, levels and RIFT location without loading time its a brain explode thing.

    4,5 hours of game excluding its cutscenes. 6 hours of game including its cutscenes. Same mechanics, gimmick controls, it was very promoted for its ssd abilities, yet in game the game loads way slower than it was advertised. Hit boxes during fight moments do their own things. Bitter feelin once youll beat it cause its not worth of even $20. This game should be rented for a week at max price of $4.

    For all it's prettiness and technology, as a game it never quite goes beyond 'alright'. If you've never been able to get into the Ratchet & Clank series before then don't expect you ever will.

    My childhood/teens I grew up on Ratchet & Clank. So will always have a special place in my heart
    of a much loved franchise.

    Rift Apart is a stunning telling of story and adventure with crisp graphics and a
    insane level of high dynamic range.

    Must buy!

    My game of 2021 personally. It was nice to see ratchet back in full effect. PS3 was the last full blown Ratchet Title with the Masterpiece A Crack in Time. This is the only Ratchet that I can argue is as good as it. That's saying alot as ACIT is one of my all time favourite titles. Also the longest I've taken to beat a Ratchet in the first go, 22 hours before I hit new game plus which isMy game of 2021 personally. It was nice to see ratchet back in full effect.     Truly an awesome game with amazing visuals and gameplay my only gripe is its quite but shorter than other ratchet adventures and quite often the same mini bosses come up throughout the game probing they didn't have aslong as they liked to make the game.

    The only reason i'm giving this a 9 is because even with all things considered i dont think its worth a full 70 dollars since its only around 10 hours that it took me for my first playthrough and its not like the story is    Incredible game.     This is such a fun game! The action is so fun and unique. It also displays the ps5 power better than anything out yet. There is just no way to describe how great it looks and feels. I do wish the game was a bit longer, being that it is so darn fun. Best ps5 game out imo

    Easily the best game in the franchise. The weapon variety is top class. Art direction is great and has so many details in every location. It's obvious that Insomniac focused on making this a fun and entertaining experience. Game is only made even better by the visual options, game looks absolutely stunning on my OLED tv.
    A true must play for anyone who owns or is looking to get a PS5.

    A warm return to the franchise and it was a lot of fun, thankfully uninterrupted by loading times. This is an excellent game for casual gamers as it's not that long and doesn't require a great deal of time to play well, for this reason I knock a point off though as for a full priced game (although good deals can be found now) it's maybe a little short.     I have a very soft spot for the classic Ratchet & Clank games, and my opinions on the remake were a bit mixed. I enjoyed it, but I very much the classic PS2 game and its sequels. But as soon as I saw Rift Apart, I knew it was going to be great, and they delivered. They improved just about everything from the 2016 remake and made a top tier game for the series on a brand new, advanced console that works great with it. Rift Apart could probably be reason enough to get a PS5.

    One criticism that people have had with the newer Ratchet games compared to the classic ones was its departure from darker toned story telling and focusing on a more comedic style. I can't say I share the problem, but when viewed in the spirit of the new reboot series, it works incredibly well! There's nothing wrong with a comedic game so long as it's done well and doesn't take away from stakes at hand, and I think Rift Apart has a good balance of that. It doesn't take itself too seriously, but still maintains a fun and goofy adventure throughout.

    The story is not bad, albeit I usually take issue when it comes to multi-dimensional stories, mostly because they're sloppily told, trying to be too big while not tying enough loose ends. Rift Apart keeps the lore about it small and contained, only enough to serve the purpose the game has, therefore less room to screw the overall lore and worldbuilding. Outside of the dimensional travel, the character story telling is quite nice. While staying small and contained, you get to know Rivet and Kit rather well, and some of the new side characters are fun and give the game a lot more life. The way they tie certain aspects of character backstory together is pretty good and is overall a satisfying story to progress in.

    The biggest problem with the game is the length. It's one of the shortest Ratchet games, but what it was able to put into its small playtime is a lot! There's so much to do and explore, so while there may not be as many planets to visit like in previous games, some of the planets have a little bit more to offer and explore. I can understand why it would be hard to justify a $70 price tag for a shorter game in the series, but aside from all that, I don't have any major issues with the game.

    The controls are also rather good, although sometimes swapping between weapons takes a bit too long. The haptic triggers on the PS5 Dualsense controller add a lot to the feel of the game and almost wish the previous games that this kind of control scheme. The combat is fast paced, fun, and fair, definitely more so than some situations in the classic PS2 games.

    I wouldn't say this is my favorite Ratchet & Clank game, but it was great to experience a brand new story with these two rather than just a retelling. I do hope Insomniac continues the series on the PS5 with some new adventures to come! Definitely a must play for any PS5 owner!    … Expand

    As an long time Ratchet and Clank fan this is one the best entries in the series. The visuals and action scenes are truly spectacular. By far the best gameplay the series has ever seen. The only negative thing I have with the game is I wish it was longer!

    Hoping Insomniac continues to make great entries into this beloved series.

But the humorous trip through the galaxy is so much more! First and foremost, it's an incredibly fun and satisfying shooter where I've been thrilled with every new weapon. Yes, Insomniac could have accommodated more hoppingTelling you about Rift Apart and not first losing an essay about the optical fireworks I experienced, phew, I have to pull myself together a little right now. But the humorous trip through the galaxy is so much more! First and foremost, it's an incredibly fun and satisfying shooter where I've been thrilled with every new weapon. Yes, Insomniac could have accommodated more hopping passages for my taste, but occasional puzzle sections provide variety.
    And then there would be all the warm and sympathetic characters that I just loved listening to and watching. Also because Ratchet & Clank still exudes the charm of the PS2 era. This childishly silly thing that always puts a smile on your face. By the way, I would recommend you not to sprint through Rift Apart, but to soak up the atmosphere and watch the characters go about their business.

    Finally, I have to lose two or three sentences about the optics (yes, let me): Ratchet & Clank is an unparalleled feast for the eyes. It's almost absurd that I felt like I spent more time admiring the atmosphere and rich graphics than advancing the story. As you can see: I am thrilled and can only warmly recommend the adventure to you.

    This is a great game and of course being made by Sony it shows off the new Dual shock sense (Ds5) features. I have played several instalments of r&c being all the ps2 games, size matters and the ps4 remasters. Soon I wanna complete the ps3 games aswell but sadly they aren't on Ps5 other then streaming. Hopefully they can make it backwards compatible. Can we get the trilogy on Ps5 aswell ifThis is a great game and of course being made by Sony it shows off the new Dual shock sense (Ds5) features.     A brief of everything mentioned below.
    Things I didn't like. If I list these 1st then we can finish this on a positive note.
    Collecting raritanium feels a waste of time. I think it would be better if they were extremely rare but done a huge upgrade rather then loads of small ones. Also when you unlock zurkies you can farm them easily.
    Experienced a couple glitches 1 broke my savegame. (See below)
    Another SMG type weapon at the start would be nice.
    The phantom dash looks silly. Would be better with blue tracers. I disabled it in visual settings.
    More zurkies challenges would've been better. On R&C3 we got loads including the 100 round challenge, why didn't we get this in this game?
    Sniper was under powered.
    Freezing bosses shouldn't be possible, it made them a walk in the park. Just freeze then rocket and repeat any boss and you can kill them without taking a hit.
    Stop tying the ryno to collectibles. Just make a a challenge mode gun like before.
    You shouldn't make content that people can skip (puzzles). This should only be a feature in challenge mode.
    Stop telling me how to do things this should only be a feature on the lowest difficulty(s). I like to work things out yet the game basically tells you how to do everything.
    OP cheats not effecting the ability to unlock trophies. i.e invincibility
    Easiest difficulty giving you invincibility.
    Settings that make grind rails slow down during obstacles.
    No trophy for completion on harder difficulty's making the challenge unrewarding.
    The last few on the list I felt made the game dumbed down and made challenges pointless. Why am I going to complete the game on the hardest difficulty and put myself through the challenge if I don't get anything for it. You spent ages creating a difficulty that a huge minority are going to bother playing because there is no reason or reward.

    Things that were amazing.
    I love the new armour style. Collecting peaces of armour then give you passive effects without having to equip them is perfect. I never liked wearing helmets now I don't need to. Im so glad this replaced the cards from the previous instalment.
    The new puzzle were awesome, like glitch and clank dimensions. I hated them hacking/tresspassing in previous titles.
    The mechanics in the game were really well done and it feels solid and responsive. Not once did anything feel clunky.
    The guns worked really well, a couple a weapons that didn't really have a purpose was the ricochet and the shield. You got phantom drift too dodge, what the hell you need a shield for, the Holoshield was better in r&c3 as you could use your gun still.
    I love the story line in this game and I think it was set out really well.
    Loads of shooting aswell which I love. Its annoying when you play a shooting game and its packed with slow boring crap that takes you out of the fight which isn't the case here and I think they got the balance perfect between shooting, exploring and cutscenes.
    Maps don't feel linear and there is loads of hidden areas to explore.
    A way to choose graphic settings, you can choose HQ ray tracing at 30fps, performance ray tracing at 60fps (My personal choice) and No ray tracing for higher resolutions like 4k.
    The map textures look so great and I can understand why they went with the neon effect so they could really show off the ray tracing capability of the Ps5. I have never seen a ratchet and clank game look as nice as this one.
    I think the photo mode is a cool feature. I probably won't use it but I think its a good way to make a desktop wallpaper for your PC or something.
    The way the guns use the new triggers on the controller feels like like certain guns having a half press to lock on then full press to fire etc.
    The enemies in this game were fun competitors its just a shame the bosses were too easy to freeze I would have said they were all round perfect.
    I loved the way things were kind of like opposites in the second dimension like Mrs zorkon was a resistance fighter but she was a boss before, Zorkon was a weapon but now he's peaceful, and a few others things aswell but don't wanna spoil the game.
    1 great thing that should be in all R&C games is the charge boots have returned but have been improved. Please don't make me go without these again. You cant reverse the map extremely fast with these.

    Would I recommend this game?
    Yes if you own a Ps5 I would definitely say to grab this as a part of your collection. And after you complete it then give challenge mode a try for harder enemies but keep your weapons aswell!    … Expand

    I don't know how to describe how brilliant this masterpiece truly is! The loading times are gone, the dual sense triggers are fun to play with (especially when shooting enemies) the haptic feedback is awesome the story is just like ratchet and clank should be:funny and not taking itself seriously at all. I would give this 11/10 but I can't awesome game can't wait for the next one

    La historia es simplona de más, por mucho que tenga algún giro que otro es bastante predecible y sabes por dónde va a ir. Aunque yo creo que no se juegan estos juegos por la historia, ya sabes a donde vienes, está dirigido mayoritariamente a un público más infantil. Se juega por la jugabilidad y esta es una gozada, evidentemente explotando todo lo explotable de la ps5, mucho movimiento,La historia es simplona de más, por mucho que tenga algún giro que otro es bastante predecible y sabes por dónde va a ir. Aunque yo creo que no se juegan estos juegos por la historia, ya sabes a donde vienes, está dirigido mayoritariamente a un público más infantil. Se juega por la jugabilidad y esta es una gozada, evidentemente explotando todo lo explotable de la ps5, mucho movimiento, muchas partículas y un gameplay muy dinámico y divertido, que logra introducir bien la mecánica de no usar siempre el mismo arma, cosa que se agradece. Sí es verdad que una vez tienes tus combos de armas en combate, y que te funcionan, es muy difícil salir de ahí, y quizás los combates ya se vuelven algo monótonos porque los enemigos suelen ser siempre similares, sin contar la arena esta de retos, que aporta un poco de frescura al tener que obligarte a hacer ciertas mecánicas.
    Lo plataformero podría haber sido más difícil o tener un reto mayor en las brechas de conseguir partes de armadura, por ejemplo, ninguna supuso mucha dificultad.
    En cuanto a la dificultad un poco más de lo mismo, quizás es demasiado fácil la estándar quizás le tuve que poner un puntito más de dificultad para que supusiera un reto mayor y no solo un paseo por cada mapa.

    This game was okay until around the half-way point. At that point you realize that it's suddenly become stale. By the second half of the game, you've already done everything there is to do. So instead of zooming around in your jet boots, you're riding a giant snail, but the activity is completely the same, it's just a different "vehicle".

    Then you come across the same boss you came across before. At first you can't even really tell that it IS a boss except it has a damage indicator above it's head.

    That's when you remember that they only took a year to make this game, and you start understanding why it's so repetitive, why there are so few enemy designs with concepts that are introduced, but not fleshed out. Why "Raritanium" is EVERYWHERE in this game to the point where it should have been called "Everywhereitanium". A tool they give you to zoom through force-fields never gets used much to go through force fields. Why did they even bother with the force-fields? If you can just go through them, then what's the point? Again, half-baked. The portals? They are glorified hook shots. They are eye-popping at first, but then you realize they’re just zip points and nothing else. Had they pulled you into the parallel universe to help you navigate between obstacles in each universe, it would have been more interesting. By the time I got a little past the half-way point, I was really uninterested. The story is full of technobabble and the story is incomprehensible. So I put it on easy to just get through the game. That is when I ran straight into a game-breaking bug that's over year old THAT HASN'T BEEN FIXED YET. One of the pocket dimensions will not re-open for you once you've stepped inside, trapping you in until you go to an earlier save. That's when went from bored to angry. This is not a “glitch”, this is a game breaking bug. I got this game for $30 on sale, but I can only imagine paying $70 for this game and coming across a bug that could set you back 30 minutes. It again, also demonstrates a game that was rushed out the door for the launch of the PS5.

    This game was okay up until a point. But it's not up to the standard of earlier Ratchet and Clank titles. You can feel how "empty" the game it by the time you get to the end. Even the boss fight at the end was so boring, with so many bullet-sponge bosses, I literally yelled "OH COME ON!" when another boss yet appeared. I just wanted to be done with this.

    Finally, this series has taken a major blow since the reboot. What used to be funny with some biting, clever satire has been watered down into a kiddie-friendly series. I feel like Insomniac has sold out. This will most likely be the last Ratchet and Clank game I’ll ever play as I feel it’s definitely not being made for me anymore. It’s not as edgy or fun as it used to be…

    I think the only thing this game really has going for it is it's graphics. For me, someone who has been gaming at 4k through a PC connected to an HDTV through a high-end graphics card, it really wasn't that eye-popping, but I can definitely say I was surprised to see this coming out of a console. Like someone else said, it was a nice tech demo, but it runs out of steam way too early.    … Expand

    - All NPCS you meet are friendly and "quirky"
    - Humour is virtually non-existent
    - Crappy motion capture in cutscenes
    - Literally no one shuts the **** up during gameplay
    - Ratchet and Rivet have exact same moveset instead of giving Rivet her own unique moveset
    - Rift Tether too gimmicky and adds nothing to overall gameplay
    - Trudi and Speedle move like ****
    - **** puzzles, and **** herself, annoying AF
    - Clank puzzles exist
    - Arena challenges lacking and too easy
    - ****-tier voice acting (sucks that Jim Ward got Alzheimer's and Covid but I'm glad he didn't star in this ****fest)
    - Generic Marvel-esque OST
    - Next game will most likely be Rivet and Kit spinoff that still won't take them to Lombax Dimension

    Historia: 9/10 es muy enfocada a los niños, en anteriores ratchet había chistes mas enfocados a los adultos pero en este son pocos.
    Jugabilidad 8/10 aveces es algo molesto tener que dejar presionando triangulo y que se pause la acción.
    Gráficos 10/10 lo pase en el modo fidelidad para aprovechar el 4k y el Ray tracing y se ve muy bien aunque hay zonas que no se si sea necesario.

    A great, very fun experience. It’s visuals on PS5 are marvelous, but the gameplay is what sets it apart. The multiverse stories are overused nowadays but it works and the characters are pretty good.

    Very good game, my only criticism is it was a little on the short side, even to achieve the platinum trophy only took around 20 hours ish, but don’t get me wrong it was a fantastic game and my kids absolutely loved it, would have easily gave it a 10/10 if it was a little longer, but decided to give it a 9

    I will keep this review short unlike all my other reviews, ratchet and clank is one of the main reasons you should consider buying a ps5, yes it is quite short, it took me 13 hours to get 100% completion and yes, enemy variety and combat can get pretty repetitive. but the story is solid.     - Enemy verity I think is lacking but still a fun game to play through

    - All the rivet is an great addiction for story telling I just think she should have been part of the story and Play as Ratchet and Clank. When I am playing rivet It just feels like playing as a reskinned Ratchet. If you were to have amazing unique rivet and Kit gameplay, and even then you play way too much time playing rivet(Almost more than half the game). In the and this is a RATCHET AND CLANK GAME! not Rivet and Kit(Just make a new ip with unique gameplay instead).

    - Story was ok with no emotions, no funny dialogue that made the original engaging in that department.

    This why worry about Insomniac Games becoming another generic Sony studio with agendas. Looks like they haven't put thought in like the other games or the older experienced developers have left with millennials in charge. I mean even in miles morels the Line "he's our Spider-Man" was a bit cringe and came out during Black Lives Matter says what's happening to insomniac. Spider-Man was always everyones hero no matter what the skin colour. The line was as if Peter Parker didn't help black people and now we have a superhero that helps black people.     This game really surprised me, that is the next generation I've been waiting for too long. Everything developers wanted to show is worth praising, after playing it, you realize what next games on PS 5 would be awaiting for us. The only one disadvantage is the size of a campaign. I definitely expected much longer story, but it didn't disappoint me at all.

    I'm not familiar with Ratchet&Clank series but I've had a ton of fun with this one. Visuals are astounding, story is very good and fun. Sometimes the combat seemed a bit repetitive but that's subjective i guess.

    Don’t get me wrong this is a good game with excellent games mechanics and fantastic graphics. The attention to detail is amazing But after playing it I couldn’t help coming away feeling a bit disappointed. The game mechanics feel very similar to the ratchet and clank ps4 remaster with the exception of new weapons. I prefer the weapons in the previous title particularly around the humor.Don’t get me wrong this is a good game with excellent games mechanics and fantastic graphics. The attention to detail is amazing But after playing it I couldn’t help coming away feeling a bit disappointed. The game mechanics feel very similar to the ratchet and clank ps4 remaster with the exception of new weapons. I prefer the weapons in the previous title particularly around the humor. Nothing beats seeing enemies doing a disco dance. What disappointed me is the story and length of the game. It took me about 8 hours to complete which I would not have any issue with normally. But the first 5 hours are ok with the story really ramping up after 6 hours. And then it ends…….

    For some reason I didn’t really engage with the story. It feels like the story was chosen to fit in demonstrating the incredibly quick load times of the ps5 rather than an original idea. Still, it’s a game I would still highly recommend.    … Expand

    Really enjoyed the game. Im a big fan since childhood, and this takes me back in. Some of the ps3 games were not that good, and the ps4 game was really bad, but this one really is a master piece. I dont give a 10 because i miss Ratchet personality being more edgy.

There is no other way a game can feel so good, play so well, and take you on an impressive adventure all without that special ingredient to keep it going. The definition of a next-gen title, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a must-play that will leave you super satisfied and hungry for another big game like this one.
