    MultiVersus is a surprising mashup that brings together a diverse cast of characters from different franchises in a chaotic and fun fighting game. The game’s blend of familiar faces and accessible gameplay offers something for both casual players and fighting game enthusiasts. While it might not be the most polished entry in the genre, its sheer variety and charm make it an entertaining and unexpected hit.

    MultiVersus is a solid Smash Bros. clone that's definitely promising, especially with its distinctly-playing characters and flexible gameplay. It may currently be slightly underwhelming in some regards but I'm looking forward to seeing how this project evolves over time.

    MultiVersus' current cast of characters is something truly special, and it's impossible to not be excited for what comes next. The fighting is less immediately appealing — though there is quite a lot of fun to be had here, the game simply doesn't come close to the explosive pace and superb feel of its main competitor.

    In its relaunch, MultiVersus sacrificed a lot. Therefore, it is a game that presents several problems and, perhaps, is even worse than the beta version in terms of gameplay. But in terms of content, it seems to be on the right path, as it has enough to keep its player base interested for longer than in 2022 and 2023. The problems should be fixed in the long term. The question is whether the heroes, villains and other characters will survive the harsh world of games as a service.

    Despite its open beta falling by the wayside, MultiVersus had a ton of potential heading into its full launch. While the netcode and gameplay feel solid, everything else needs extensive improvements.

    This doesn’t feel like a game you can reasonably “get good” at anymore, it just feels like a mess. Win, lose, it doesn’t matter. Perhaps younger gamers can forgive the gameplay quirks in exchange for seeing characters they love duke it out, but that alone is not what made Super Smash Bros. a sensation. MultiVersus’ online net code is great, which should be a massive selling point, but why would you want to play this game? [Review in Progress]

    The future of MultiVersus remains to be seen, but if it is aspiring to become a go-to fighting game for both offline and online gatherings, nothing spoils the party more than the free-to-play shell it’s encased in. This model might make it more accessible to players in the short term, but when it’s weighing down the overall experience like this, it’s hard not to see history repeating itself sooner or later – even if you can butcher Shaggy with a machete.     I can see where people can enjoy this game. With a fun roster of characters and more variations in play, fans should enjoy playing. However,I can see where people can enjoy this game. However, if you are coming to this as a fan of Smash Bro’s and expecting a similar experience, curb your expectations. The gameplay feels slow and clunky. Character movements don’t feel easy to control while getting into combat. Attacking in the air keeps you floating for so long which made air strikes difficult to land at times. On the plus side, some mechanics with support type characters were a fun addition and got me excited to try it. The game, like many others in this modern day, includes a battle pass and in game micro transactions to buy cosmetics. While the inspiration is clearly Smash, the execution leaves an amount to be desired. Perhaps I am being too comparative but it is a road block in the game for me. Some gamers will enjoy this and will have a lot of fun, however, if you are looking for the next Smash style game, perhaps it will be best to stick with the classic.… Full Review »

Don't listen to playpod , he is obviously a noob, there is nothing wrong with the hitboxes nor do we need a single player mode. The controls are fine to although you need to be a master in using your joystick. But if you have played fighting games before , this should not be a big problem. Also , yes it uses a free to play model. How else would it make money? As long multiverse will not get pay to win i don't see the issue. If this game would have costed 40 euros/bucks , im shure the game would have 90% less players. Plus guess what if you aren't a spoiled brat, you don't need to spend a dime on cosmetics!!!… Full Review »
