    Horizon Forbidden West is an awesome game! The graphics looks great on the PS5, the combat has definitely improved from its predecessor. Overall, Aloy journey was a lot of fun to explore!

    Absolutely gorgeous! Playing on PS5. Fun to play and controls perfectly. The new features are improvements over what we had in the original which was already great. Dialogue and face animations are all natural looking and sounding with plenty of extra spoken lines depending on situation and what you’re doing. Easy 10/10 score. Anyone who actually plays will see how incredible it is. Don’tAbsolutely gorgeous! Playing on PS5. Fun to play and controls perfectly. The new features are improvements over what we had in the original which was already great. Don’t believe the many “review bomb” scores made by proud boy types who hate anything with a strong female main character and a ton of (honestly refreshing) diversity throughout entire game and claiming the game to be “woke” or whatever. They hoped beyond hope that this game would somehow fail and now that it hasn’t it’s become their obsession. Which is sad. Anyways, strongly recommend the game to anyone.     I played through main story and did approximately additional 15 hours of side activity. While I enjoyed how the game evolved to the previous game. Gameplay is better in every aspect that comes to my mind. Issues I had were mostly technical but also with the main quests unsatisfactory ending
    On PS5 you can choose between favoring resolution and performance. Playing resolution mode is    I played through main story and did approximately additional 15 hours of side activity.     On PS5 you can choose between favoring resolution and performance. Playing resolution mode is borderline unplayable with a game with this many animated stuff and quick pace. Performance mode however was good, although it removed at times way to much quality for my taste.

    The main quest evolves to very crazy things to say the least. It stays within the realms of the possibility of the lore, but is a tad too much for my taste. Now the ending was very unpleasing to me. I have waited years for this game and the story is like, imagine what'll haopen in the next episode. Next episode is years and maybe even a generation away realistically speaking. That should be a no go where time between games is like half a decade.    … Expand

    I really like the game, but yes it has also his weaknesses, the graphic mode (30FPS) is ugly to play and also the story is not on the same level than on Horizon Zero Dawn.     Game is alright but nothing special. If you enjoyed zero dawn you'll enjoy forbidden west. But it's not a game for everyone. Game gets boring pretty fast and feels more like a job after a while.

    Hfw has a great story but suffers with performance issues still to this day. Washed out and over sharpened images to frame drops in quality mode. The world is much the same as the first game with the old hold your hand world that we see in most open world games. Its a decent sequel to the great hzd but it isnt ground breaking and nothing seems to have changed at all.

    It's so over-hyped. Yes, the game looks great (when there are no glitches), but in overall - it's just OK, not a masterpiece.

    The combats with robots can be really fun, but it's all this game is about and because of that it's becoming boring. The main plot is pretty flat and has too many conventions. Economic is my pain - every time you find a chest - there are always tons of trash that    It's so over-hyped. Yes, the game looks great (when there are no glitches), but in overall - it's just OK, not a masterpiece.

    The mini-game has so many rules, and the design is poor too - it's hard to get where is your figure and what it can / can't do. You can't even compare this mini game to Gwent in Witcher 3.

    Basically a sight to behold, and a technical marvel, hampered by boring characters, boring climbing puzzles, boring resource management and upgrades.

    This is not a review bombing, but As someone that play the previous game and expecting something good, I was disappointed, there are 3 factors in this game which gave this result. There are no real graphic scenes when boxes are opened, which was already possible with RDR2 4 years ago on "Oldgen". I'm also not really convinced of the graphics because the texture always looks the same, which means that you don't recognize a lot of things, for example items lying around, it's almost impossible to recognize them without focus. this means that you have to press the focus every few seconds. I am very disappointed with the game and the 70€ is not worth the **** better wait until it's offered for 30€ even then I wouldn't buy it if all the bugs aren't fixed -> which can take a while because there are sooo many bugs. HFW was one of the games why I bought the PS5 another is GOW Ragnarock but I will definitely not buy it at full price. when needed and only if I still have the PS5 because I'm actually considering selling it!… Expand

    Graphics/Visuals
    Yes, it mostly looks good, but it is on par with what I would expect from a "next gen" game released in 2022. But, in many ways it looks no better than Ghost of Tsushima released on the PS4 2 years ago. Visually it is nice, frame rates are good. Colors are vibrant. View distances are nice. But nothing spectacular.

    Audio
    Boring. All I can say is almost all of the music so far is one word: Boring. I won't say anything more.

    Game Play
    Game play is the strong point. I can roam around sneaking up and killing things all day long. You have a full feature of weapons and armor to experiment. But so far, I am not really seeing anything new from Horizon Zero Dawn in any meaningful way. Not bad, because they did a great job in that game, but nothing new to speak of here. You also have the same platforming aspect of the game, but Forbidden West is incredibly easy. Too easy. Basically, just look for the color yellow and hit your controller. It is brain dead easy. Don't see anything? Just scan and you are instantly in easy mode. I don't find any challenge in this at all.

    Story
    I am 10 hours into this game and I could care less about this world. I don't really know what is going on and don't care to figure it out. I had expected a story hook to grab me within the first hour, but much of the first few hours is running into characters from Zero Dawn that I didn't care a whole lot about, and in some way they made them even less interesting in Forbidden West. Travis Tate makes a cameo, which is awesome. And Sylens is introduced early. But so far I find gathering Ridge-Wood more interesting than talking to anyone. Of course, both these games are Feminist wet dreams. That's OK; I rather enjoyed Zero Dawn a lot. But in this game, I feel like I am being beaten over the head with it.

    Art & Style
    This is where this game simply falls apart. A lot was said in the previews about the uglification of Aloy. Seeing the actual game, there is a little bit of it (why does she have huge chipmunk cheeks?) but overall I think Aloy is a rather adorable ginger, and I like her personality. But things end there. Literally every single character and NPC in this game is fat and ugly. Every single one. I feel like I am at the State fair instead of a post-apolopytic wasteland. And somehow, 90% of all the laborers are women? How does that happen? Did all the men die or something? Obviously there is an agenda. The designs of the clothings and architecture is kinda nice. It is what you would expect if you played Zero Dawn. The landscapes are OK. Nice really, but it is just what I expected, and nothing more. And the voice acting... wow is it cringy. Horrible. Again, Aloy is OK, I do like her. But every NPC is maximum cringe. And the facial movements and body language.. I usually look away from the screen when they talk.

    Collector's Edition
    I am playing the Regalia Edition. There is supposed to be DLC gear. It is all junk. The figures are OK. The large one is not the best that I've collected. I do like the Aloy mini though. There are some other accoutrements that are OK. Overall, I should have just stuck with the Launch Edition game (actually, I should have waited for the "GOTY" edition in the future).

    Conclusion
    I can not recommend this game. If you enjoyed Zero Dawn, are not bothered by all the horrible style choices made, and you are dying to play this game, then I would recommend waiting for the inevitable GOTY edition (or whatever they will call it) with the inevitable DLC that will be released. And even then, it may be wise not to pre-order it, wait for the cost to dip (or wait for it to be a Playstation Greatest Hits).    … Expand

    20 hours in and barely half way through the story. the side quests are world class. graphics are phenomenal. and wonderful use of the duel sense. such a dense world with so much to explore. Guerilla has out done themselves!

    The visuals on the PS5 is amazing if you play on resolution mode. Really, mindblowing. Performance mode not so much unfortunately. There are also some lighting bugs here and there.     A brilliant sequel to a great first game. Although the genre may not appeal to everyone, and explanation ocasionally takes a bit too much of gameplay time, the game is fun, beautiful and well presented, yet may benefit from some future patches.

    Es mejor que el anterior en todos los sentidos. Su apartado gráfico está a un nivel superior de todo lo visto hasta ahora. Gran historia con giros muy interesantes. Nuevas mecánicas, mejoras en el combate. Magnífico.

    Jogo maravilhoso, existem alguns momentos em que ele se torna um pouco repetitivo (assim como no primeiro), más sua história e narrativa aliados a boa jogatina muito prazerosa e gráficos lindíssimos e coloridos fazem dele um jogasso acima da média.

    Game Full of bugs. Performance mode is awful.
    Shimmering and 0 anti aliasing. Graininess and poor textures. How can a sony game be published with such bugs. If you have 4K OLED Tv don't buy this game until a patch is released (which is not guaranteed yet after two days of release)

    Performance mode is awful on my OLED. Grainy, noisy, oversharpened like there is no AA. Fidelity mode is too choppy for me. Very disappointed because HZD runs great at 60fps

    Много багов, управление корявое, вечно прыгает не туда куда смотришь или направляешь, вообще невозможно играть, некоторые квесты просто пропускаешь потому что вообще не понятно что делать куда идти, к примеру побочные корни 2 часа по пещере побегал, не нашел выхода отказался от квеста. Вобщем кроме графики в игре нет ничего, жалко потраченых денег и не советую к покупкеМного багов, управление корявое, вечно прыгает не туда куда смотришь или направляешь, вообще невозможно играть, некоторые квесты просто пропускаешь потому что вообще не понятно что делать куда идти, к примеру побочные корни 2 часа по пещере побегал, не нашел выхода отказался от квеста.     The overriding question Horizon Forbidden West left me with is ‘when will its prospective audience grow tired of the tired conventions that underwrite so many go-and-save-the-world adventure games?’ As much as I appreciated the fun that came from smashing up dinosaur robots, Horizon Forbidden West won’t earn a spot in my long-term memory.

    This is by far the best looking game after Demon Souls but beside graphics there is nothing special.
    Story is mid, HZD (1 game) had an much better story, combat system is almost the same, there are literally only graphical changes.

    PS: Give us some details, 0's, about what the controls feel like and such. Anything useful; "the graphics hurt my eyes". Wow.

I loved it so much I bought the DLC which I also thought was excellent, the graphics were beautiful and the game was polished. Im afraid the Forbiden west is just a huge step backwards.     The game completely copies the first part, no new improvements except for the grappling hook. The graphics are soapy, in performance mode everything is very blurry. The plot is boring and the characters are the same. It should also be noted that the game does not work, it is simply bugged, worse than cyberpunk.

    I am absolutely blown away so far! I’ve only played four hours but I’m speechless. It’s everything I’ve wanted this game to be. The review bombs are kind of sad and I haven’t experienced any of the glitches people are talking about. Definitely GOTY candidate!

    Horizon Forbidden West is a fantastic open world experience. Guerilla Games put a lot of work into improving and enhancing many aspects of the first game. Amazing graphics, great combat and so far a lot of interesting main and side quests.

    I am absolutly enjoying this game on PS5. It’s the reason i bought a PS5 and a new tv. And boy does it look great! Awesome graphics and sounds and i love the design of the monster-machines and it’s stunning environments.

    It's beautiful and the world design is visually impressive. Other than that I didn't enjoy much about Horizon Forbidden West. Especially in terms of story & characters it's very bland. There are no meaningful choices. Exploration is barely rewarded or matters at all. It's a beautiful but empty open world.

Her design has gotten even worse and half the time I find it hard to even look at her with her weird facial expressions. The open world whilst far better than HZD in terms of landscape with an excellent use of real world locations is Unfortunately full of ubisoft style side content which isn't very engaging or fun. The not so good crafting system and gathering system has seen little improvement from HZD and honestly it's frustrating having to constantly pick up stuff over and over again after killing enemies. The game also suffers from some bugs which the first game didn't have. Nothing game breaking just immersion breaking.
    So overall a dissapointing sequel so far and from what I've heard the story gets worse later on. There are massive improvements in terms of combat but everything else aside from visuals are practically the same and the story is just not gripping me. I'm massively dissapointed with how similar the core game is to HZD which was a flawed as hell game.    … Expand

    Having only played half of zero dawn, I went into forbidden West as a completely new game and not counting the first one as only got half thru it. Graphically the game is fantastic, I'm enjoying the story and gameplay and I am having a blast with it. Definitely worth the money.

    I'm not a fan of the first Horizon game. I played and it was kinda boring for me, but the graphics and robots were amazing though.

    But this new part is amazing. I'm enjoying it and it's an enormous amount of improvements were made. It's interesting to discover this world and gameplay is much more dynamic this time.

    Estou tentando terminar o jogo já a mais de 5 horas. Meu save travou em uma missão que, não tem nenhuma ação possível impedindo o prosseguimento no jogo. Fora a quantidade de atrasos na renderização problemas no combate. O jogo é bonito sim más, com gráficos mais simples que ios apresentados inicialmente. Uma pena, mas os reviews estão muito errados. Daria nota 7 no máximo!

    Incredible game, what Guerrilla Games has achieved with Horizon FW is impressive, the. Combat mode is much better than the previous one, good side quests and skill progress, amazing new creatures and wonderful scenarios. A game that promises more than 100hrs if you want to unlock all the collectibles.... Amazing

    Horizon has enchanted me again. After a slow start, a graphically beautiful, sophisticated sequel comes, polished in every aspect, and underscored by a great soundtrack on top of that. The sequel was simply a success. Everything that worked before works even slightly better now. [Issue#317]

    Horizon Forbidden West is exactly what everyone thought it would be: an amazing game. It has an open world with plenty of things to do and places to explore, fights against some really well-developed machines and stunning visuals. The feeling is that the second game of the series improves on what was already great, and it feels rewarding and fun to play. It is another single-player masterpiece from Sony.
