    excellent game, story continuation very good. I just didn't like some graphic effects like fire and others made in 2D, which are rotating in a 2D plane. when you see them from above they keep keeping the shape as if they were on the floor. many elements like smoke, poison, light elements were made in 2D.

    Solid 9.5 out of 10. Character design is unparalleled, open world is so dense and beautiful, combat is top notch. All of these things add up to a fantastic experience.     I was a huge fan of the first game, but the "studio-produced" games have made me quite salty over the past few years. There's this bizarre theme of game trailers looking way better than the games ever do during their pre-releases. So, I was quite skeptical of how this game would be when compared to their hype trailers and having to live up to the last game. So, I was quite skeptical of how this game would be when compared to their hype trailers and having to live up to the last game. Regardless, I'm quite impressed. The game looks beautiful, the story stays consistent with the old game (one of my favorite things about it), and the machines are still great. It's like I'm playing in the eco-aware version of ZOIDS. I really enjoyed the game, the story, the graphics, and all the new side-quest things they added in. With that being said, I do have two things that kind of irked me. First, the combat seems to be a little less fluid than the first game. It really seems like some of the combat moves (especially melee) are forcibly clicked/animated into place, which is different than the first game. It looks like Aloy is teleporting to a machine/raider to make my hit be a hit. I'd rather miss and not have this skipping (it can be a little disorienting). This could be a way to save on framerates or rendering, or whatever, but the close combat does feel a bit more choppy. Second, as much as I love the bigger and more flashy new map, it seems like Guerilla was just pasting things into the places between quest objectives to give me something to do. I do like the new additions and the new map, but there is a point where you have so many things on your map that it kind of becomes overwhelming. There were times where it felt like I was playing a Ubisoft game. These two points aside, they did not detract from my experience of enjoying the game. It still looks great and it's still very stimulating in, almost, every aspect. Love the new machines, love the continuation of the storyline, and I did enjoy how Guerilla spiced-up some of the character development. I had a great time playing it. I hope they're working an expansion because The Frozen Wilds was a fun addition to the last game.… Expand

    If you enjoyed the first one, Forbidden West improves on nearly every aspect. Obviously, with a game of this size there will be some bugs but the very few I've experienced have been minor. Totally worth picking this one up.

    This game is amazing the story so far has been good a lil lacklustre here and there but I'm finding loads of substance and life to the world 22+ hours in and not even done with the first 2 areas anyone who's giving a review saying they beat the game already go back and play the game don't just bumrish the story and act like that's all horizon is.

    Simply beautifull game, i havent stop playing it from the first time. The game has a very nice map with new features and surprises.
    I havent had bug problems till now and the fighting System Is addictive. The characters are well done and the New expressions are much better than the ZD version.

    So i read some of the bad reviews and i just dont get it. I absolutely love the first one and this one. The combat is more intuitive. More in depth.     Wow! The graphics are amazing. They really took advantage of the next Gen specs on the PS5 when they made this game. Very well done. Controls are even better than HZD, and with the dualsense the immersion is cranked up. I love it. They have improved every aspect of the original in this sequel..

    Game is really good, people who ask for perfection are unrealistic. Yeah there are games out there that outperform Horizon in performance but that's okay. Story is something you never heard before. Combat is as fun as you make it, crank up the difficulty and you'll have fun. It's funny how people rate it 0/10 for the smallest of things. Grow up

    Graet part of great game. Small technical bugs.Missing 60 fps in 4K resolution. But I like the setting and gameplay.For me, interesting story, nice world, great protagonist!

    Very cool game! Sometimes there is a moment when Alloy gets stuck in textures when parkour, but this is minor. Played 20 hours and completed 19% of the game. Combat has become much more interesting, especially with people. Top graphics. 10/10 game

Improved everything from the last game, the graphics, the cinematics, the face models, the combat, all. The story is very fascinating and very attractive, the map is slightly bigger than the last one and much fun to explore. The activities are very fun , the machine strike is a board game which is very fun to play with the NPC’s in different locations, the Arena is very fun as well, flying mounts are just amazing, you can see the hole map from above and it’s a fast way to get from a location to other. The story is much better than the last game’s, I finished the game in less than 15 hours and I absolutely loved to play this game. The endinng is also better than the last one . You meet more interesting characters with their own story. I recommend this game , 10/10… Expand

This game is quickly becoming one of my all-time favorite games and I am about 15 hours into it. The gameplay, the graphics, the controls, the story, side quests are all top notch.     Visually stunning, game play is fluid and the side missions are just as good as the first game. On day one launch minimal bugs and glitches, honestly on day one release the game ran better than a lot of others did with no patch needed on the first day.

    C'est simple Horizon 1 je n'ai accroché qu'a la troisieme tentative car je trouvais le scenario peu passionnant lea dialogues était mou et les quetes secondaire ennuyante.
    Horizon forbiden west l'ecrase sur tout les point, le scenario SF est genial et l'OW est une baffe.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. TL;DR: Beautiful graphics, moderate amount of bugs, had 1 crash, story and character development is still incredibly weak and not compelling. Arguably even weaker than the first game. :(

    1. Graphics - beautifully put together. Most of the time I feel like I was playing the game in a constant cutscene (playing in performance mode). The cutscenes are really good most of the time. The animations can be a bit janky at times and I have been seeing more pop-in than I'd like from time to time. I'd have to switch to framerate mode when getting into fights with machines or other enemies though because the game would stutter heavily. There are also parts of the map where the textures just simply wack out and flicker, but for the most part it's fairly decent.

    2. Bugs/Glitches: Encountered quite a few bugs/glitches so far. I even got stuck on the terrain at one point for a good couple minutes. One of the biggest problems I've seen is that in some of the machine fights, some of the machine AI just seems completely bugged out and just stands there while I'm shooting arrows at them. Happened quite a bit. Also a concern is every time I open the map and try to exit back to moving around in game, the game stutters and takes a couple seconds to exit the map. This is also how my game crashed, while I was exiting the map.

    3. Animations: for the most part the animations look pretty great. A lot of reused assets but that's not too much of a big deal for me. Unfortunately I did see a lot of stuttering in some areas with the animations, and there's also a lot of the "100 yard stare" syndrome with a lot of the NPCS. There were also some parts when fighting machines where the animations stutter or break sometimes. For the underwater portions, it's fun, but still needs a lot of work. It was pretty easy for the camera to get really wonky in some spots, especially tight spaces. Sometimes got kind of disorientating.

    4. Story: I have never skipped more cutscenes in a game than I have so far in Horizon Forbidden West. It pains me to say so but I am disappointed that the story feels so un-compelling and uninspired. Even the first game felt more compelling and exciting. I don't feel any emotional attachment to any of the characters. I wanted to see Aloy show more than just the one side that the game shows of her.

    When I played Ghost of Tsushima, the characters and stories were extremely well written. They had me laughing and crying and cheering them on while playing. I was sitting on the edge of my seat during cutscenes constantly. In Forbidden West, I just find myself feeling irritated and disappointed most of the time, skipping cutscenes just to get back to fighting machines and doing side quests.

    I am so tired of seeing Aloy treat everyone in the game around her like a nuisance, an obstacle, an irritation. We all know she had a rough upbringing but surely the writers could have made her a more rounded character. She's just too one-sided. There are a few moments where it seems like they attempt to give her more character but it kinda falls flat sadly. And don't get me started on Beta. 0_0 I can't help but wonder if they put that character in to make Aloy look better.

    5. Side quests: Pretty much a lot of them are really similar to the first games side quests. Kill machines in a certain way, collect items for crafters, follow tracks, etc. Haven't really encountered any side quests that seemed new or unique from the first game in any way.

I would compare this game with Witcher 3, where you don't have assets reused constantly. I have encountered a few bugs, nothing game breaking. Tried to use a fast travel kit while on my mount, next to a area that was locked behind a quest. Instead of arriving at the campfire I selected, I flew into the sky, and then loading screen. Then I appeared behind a tree next to a cliff, inside the area I wasnt supposed to be in. I was able to leave the area and that was it. The minigame is so much fun sometimes it's all I want to do. This game is seriously a gem, and can't wait to get further along in the story. The atmosphere is so vibrant and full of life, such a breath of fresh air compared to other games that feel dead compared to this one. My main point is this game truly feels "next-gen". They went on to improve every single element of the first game, graphics, story, gameplay, voice acting, game engine, literally everything is a step up from the first game. After a few patches, this game is going to be one of those games that's just "perfect". Once again, anyone complaining either hasn't played the game yet, or no games have ever reached their ridiculous level of standards.     Hard difficulty is actually hard (i think), not like the prequel.

    Negative: 3 things.
    1. The reaction time of switching weapons in the quickmenu (pressing L1) is too damn slow. It almost seems like the righttrigger isnt working because of the delay. 2. Loading the map is too slow (sometimes up to 5 seconds) which makes it very anoying to have a quick look on the map to see where to go. I hope this can be fixed for ps4, i guess the ps4 is just not fully suited for this game.
    3. Horseriding (on chargers) isn't functioning that well: it stops immediately when there is a larger rock in the way because it can't stay on the path. Also crossing smaller bridges is the hardest thing to do in this game...    … Expand

    I even signed up to leave a review. The game is such an improvement compared to the Zero Dawn. The visuals and facial animations are on another level, it is really enjoyable to watch and listen to every dialogue. So far it is the most advanced game on PS5.

    Game is amazing on the PS5, have seen no bug's or glitches 20 hours in everything is smooth! Only problem is way to much dialogue with NPC when you get to interact with them, I didn't really need 10 minutes worth of info from every quest giver. Don't believe these people giving the game a 1 they are just mad that it's a good game and that just irrates their fragile souls!

    Great game, it's rare that a sequel is able to be on par or even surpass the first game in some instances. Some bugs, however I am certain they will be fixed in the upcoming days and weeks.

    Excellent game, the graphics are just on top! The musical accompaniment is incredible, just like God of War 2018 and The Witcher 2015! One of the best games in the last couple of years.

    Cons: its the same formula albeit improved of the same game ( which is in my view is a Pro but some don't care for more of the same ) , Some bugs and some areas were the game can slowdown and go into single digit frame rates ( very rarely in my case ), Map is filled with things which is a plus but it also can mean lots of side tracking ( which is also good ) but some people prefer more focus.    … Expand

It's a great open world game, this game looks great on both current and old gen consoles unlike Elden Ring only looks good on current gen, not everyone have a current gen consoles. Elden Ring looks awful on ps4 and not recommended to play with old consoles. But this NewExcellent game!     It's amazing grafically, the care they've put on the NPCs blows your mind but since zero dawn the tribes story arc doesn't attract me enough so I only dis the necessary side missions to complement the main story, very nice game also its overwhelming the amount of content on the map, kind of like assassin's creed

    this is one of the best RPG out there , Guerrilla Games did a good job by expending the same story with familiar elements. i was afraid the gameplay system will be the same but honestly they surprised me with new upgrades, skills, machines, even the enemies , i don't care what others say about this but Guerrilla Games is doing an mazing job .

    Other than the game's default HDR settings, this game is a masterpiece. Best looking game I've played period. It's also very fun and has a ton of content. We need more high quality next gen games like this for all platforms

    Graphics are good, you can choose between two mods for graphics (enhanced performances or better graphics)
    I saw a bug or two but it's not really game breaking!
    I recommend the game as a player who played Zero dawn

Each machine you approach doesn't have a tutorial, instead the game allows you to approach the confrontation in which ever way you deem fit, making your choices andIncredible game!! This was a highly anticipated sequel for me, and it delivered on almost every front. The gameplay now has even greater added depth, rewarding careful planning and execution, or great "on-the-spot" thinking. Each machine you approach doesn't have a tutorial, instead the game allows you to approach the confrontation in which ever way you deem fit, making your choices and ultimately you're victory all the more satisfying. Performance wise the ps5 version has short loading screen they may as well not even be considered as loading screens. The game does have a few bugs, these can be annoying, but simply quitting to the main menu and entering back into the game almost always fixes these issues, and the loading screens (as previously mentioned) aren't anything to worry about as they're so fast. The game does have a very slow start unfortunately, but after the 10hour mark I was invested, and it became harder and harder to put the controller down. I fell in love with the NPC's and the craft going into the game is outstanding, its clear the developer poured a lot of heart and passion into this project. The details and overall beauty put into every inch of the open world astounds me, sometimes the climbing controls can get a little stiff, but the swimming flows and is incredibly fun to take advantage off, as is the glider. Puzzles are clever and very well designed, its always fun to solve one of them. The open world leaves plenty to explore, with well over 80hours worth of content to play through. I couldn't recommend this game more, the only things really bumping this down for me are the occasional wonky controls and bugs, otherwise this is a truly unrivalled experience and as a fan of the first game, I couldn't be happier with how this turned out. It works great as a sequel too, given it takes what was great about the first, and expands upon it. The gameplay once again is addictive and I can't get enough of it!… Expand

    This is a very beautiful game. I've only had one issue regarding slowdown, so I simply saved and restarted, but I haven't run into any problems since. The plot is wonderful and riveting, the graphics are phenomenal (get to the snowy areas and you'll understand even more), and I specifically go out of my way to do the side quests, anything just to prolong my time in Aloy's world!

    Horizon has enchanted me again. After a slow start, a graphically beautiful, sophisticated sequel comes, polished in every aspect, and underscored by a great soundtrack on top of that. The sequel was simply a success. Everything that worked before works even slightly better now. [Issue#317]

    Horizon Forbidden West is Guerrilla's best game to date, taking Aloy to new heights with a blockbuster release that meets the high standards set by PlayStation in recent years. While it's totally worth fans jumping in on day one, it's perhaps better to wait a few weeks until all the bugs are ironed out.

    Horizon Forbidden West is exactly what everyone thought it would be: an amazing game. It has an open world with plenty of things to do and places to explore, fights against some really well-developed machines and stunning visuals. The feeling is that the second game of the series improves on what was already great, and it feels rewarding and fun to play. It is another single-player masterpiece from Sony.
