    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'll start with the praise:
    This game takes all the great elements from the original, and improves almost every weakness. Once again, Guerrilla nailed not only the graphics, but the world building as well. The open world is the most dense I've ever seen, and the towns/settlements are so alive it's honestly impressive. Melee combat got a complete revamp in this game, and I couldn't be happier. I chose to max out my Warrior skill tree first as I was excited to test this system out, and I was not disappointed. Side quests are amazing in this game, I find myself watching almost every optional cutscene becasue of how great the dialogue and facial animations are. Ranged combat is still extremely satifysing, also introducing several new mechanics. The new machines are so detailed and honestly way more aggressive than the first game. Also, traversal has been revamped with things like the grappling hook, paraglider, and climbing, which are all great additions, and even make for some interesting combat combos. I was also a big fan of the skill tree in this game. 6 different playstyles with 20+ skills on each is mindblowing. And as a smaller praise, I love the new game Machine Strike, reminds me of Gwent from the Witcher 3. I was also impressed with the revamped Focus system. Everything is more accessible and easier to navigate in the new game.
    Some weak points:
    The story was a downgrade from the first game. However, it was by no means bad. Fans of the first games story will love and appreciate the story, but a new player might find themselves confused and uninterested.
    As of writing this there is no New Game +. I think this would only add to the replayablity of the game.
    Finally, the bugs. None of my encounters have been gamebreaking, and I understand that with a new game this big it is inevitable for their to be some bugs. However, I felt it was necessary to include any issues I had with the game.    … Expand

    awesome game!! It's a very impressive game. It felt like a movie. The most difficult game is recommended. Very fun!! I hope a sequel comes out soon!!

    I spent over 111 hours exploring and doing most everything you can do and encounter in the game and I loved it! The world, the characters, the story, the graphics, the attention to detail and the score are all top of the class. Thank you, Guerilla!

    The second entry of the Horizon series does an amazing job of improving on all aspects of its predecessor. Granted, it is not a perfect game, however it is one of the most polished and quality gaming experiences I've had in a very long time.

    The gameplay is very smooth and feels satisfying. The game mechanics are fairly simple and you don't have to bother too much with them to enjoy    The second entry of the Horizon series does an amazing job of improving on all aspects of its predecessor. Granted, it is not a perfect game, however it is one of the most polished and quality gaming experiences I've had in a very long time.

    The gameplay is very smooth and feels satisfying. The game mechanics are fairly simple and you don't have to bother too much with them to enjoy your playthrough, especially on the lower difficulties (normal and below). You can keep things simple, but if you prefer more complexity and a challenge, you can opt for a higher difficulty level, which will require you to delve more into your strengths and weaknesses, and that of your foes.
    The game does a great job of explaining all of it's mechanics and I never felt lost. A few hours into the game you might get a bit overwhelmed by all the possibilities though, especially if you're new to the series.

    The plot is intriguing, more so if you're into sci-fi. However, the plot of Horizon Zero Dawn is fundamental to understand the plot of this game, so anyone interested in the full scope of the story should definitely play that game first. It's nothing groundbreaking, but for a video game series it is one of the more engaging plots I've seen. Good enough even for its own movies, and believe me, Sony will look into this at some point! ;-)

    Visually this game is stunning. The frame rate in quality mode is a bit too choppy to my liking, so I've been playing in performance mode, at the cost of 4K resolution and some other visual benefits. However, even in performance mode this game looks beautiful! It's the attention to detail that makes me enjoy games that bit more and every corner of Horizon's world has been crafted with absolute care.

    In summary; I love this game and it is money well spent. I can recommend this to basically anyone, whether you're more of a casual gamer or hardcore. Everything about this game screams quality and it more than makes up for some of the minor glitches you might encounter.    … Expand

    HFW is bigger, better and one of the best open world action-adventure games to date. Aloy is back and just as awesome as ever. Although I had my issues with the Main story going even more full on Sci-Fi that it did on HZD, by the end I left satisfied. The strong points of HFW are its unique characters, gorgeous open world with varying biomes and side quests, think Witcher 3 side questsHFW is bigger, better and one of the best open world action-adventure games to date. Aloy is back and just as awesome as ever. Although I had my issues with the Main story going even more full on Sci-Fi that it did on HZD, by the end I left satisfied. The strong points of HFW are its unique characters, gorgeous open world with varying biomes and side quests, think Witcher 3 side quests quality, each one unique and never repeating fetch quests that plague most open wolrds these days.     Muy buen juego, en todos sus apartados. Aunque el modo rendimiento me dejo algo meeh, esperaba mejor resolucion, de repente se ve muy bien y en algunas cinematicas se ve muy mal, me siento obligado a cambiar constantemente de modo grafico. El juego en si esta genial, a la altura del primero que fue mi favorito de PS4...

    A game that won't be easily forgotten, builds on what made horizon zero dawn a blockbuster of games and does not disappoint hardcore fans. Only drawback is small bugs and lack of polish on small things that is quickly being patched by developers. Way to go guys you made a great game that I will play time and time again.

    After 45h in the game, I must say I LOVE IT! I estimate to be only halfway i to the main story, so I have a lot more to explore but there is so much engaging content. The side quests are so much more higher quality and makes you invested in their story that you want to do them all. Also they are highly rewarding so it's worth doing them more.

    Great game. Once you get into the machine story line it's good. Mechanics are pretty good. The only thing that gets exhausting is that everything wants to kill you. There is no maybe. It's definitely everything you see will attack you if it's a machine.

My point is, if you liked the plot of the first game, you'll like this one just as much or more.
    -Graphics here are just eye-wateringly beautiful if you have the right hardware. I got an LGCX tv last year, as well as a PS5, and this game rivals TLOU2 in terms of graphic detail, but with a much more colorful palate. There may be some glitches or weird things going on sometimes, but I'm not going to dock it points for something a patch can fix in a week. It's not enough to make me not enjoy it. The character models look much more realistic this time too.
    -Gameplay is wonderful. So the first game already had so many gadgets and weapons for you to use in whatever combination you saw fit. This beefs it up even further, adding more of each, adding more elements machines can be weak or strong vs, and adding more options for your weapons, not to mention the new abilities Aloy has. Traversal is more fun than ever with more mounts, more ways to climb and descend, and interesting new tools for interacting with the environment. It builds very well on what the first game did.
    -I'm enjoying this game very much so far. You can't go 100 steps without running into something. Seriously, I get to a fire checkpoint and I'm near like 4 or 5 question marks all the time. Is it a ruin? Hunting ground? Rebel camp? Blocked path I just got a tool to unblock and loot? Even if it's a herd of machines, there's always things to upgrade that need parts from those machines. And the world is never a chore to explore. Between the old world remnants and the new world, the world itself makes you want to walk around and just look at stuff.
    -Bottom line: don't let the negative reviews on here dissuade you. If you enjoyed the first game, this really does improve on that in basically every aspect. There are tons of weapons, things to do, more machines than ever, and just more of the Horizon you enjoy. The glitches will be gone before you know it.    … Expand

    This game is a masterpiece!!, excellent story, excellent scenarios, combat, strategy, huge map, amazing graphics, music, sounds!! wow, what a great experience i had and i talking about on ps4, i can´t image the better will be on ps5!. Congratulations Guerrilla Games!! amazing work, and we are waiting for the part 3.

    Amazing follow up to zero dawn. Everything has been improved especially the dialogue animations. My only complaint is there are more bugs present that in HZD at launch such as machines disappearing or simply not attacking. The world and story are incredibly impressive though. There's so much to explore.

    Now to the gameplay. Horizon: Forbidden West is setting a new standard in graphics, must be the best looking game I have ever played so far (I think no one can deny this). The voice acting (especially the difference in tone between Aloy & Beta) is amazing. They improved a lot of aspects people suggested after Part 1 - better facial animations, more free climbing and a grapple hook system, and at least they tried to make better side quests. The flying option is magical, how the Slitherfang wriggles up on rocks or small towers is so intimidatingly cool, there are new interesting twists to the cauldrons and the Tallnecks, the new diving system especially in LasVegas is nice. The landscape is far more diverse and richly filled with life - really breathtaking landscapes, I like the many Faro robot corpses lying around together with other leftovers from the war, especially amazing are the Horus Titans here and there - you can see the war was far more intense in the West than in the areas in part 1. The story is a good continuation but fails to reach the originality and goose bump moments of part 1. I also like the development of Aloys character and I love the new introduced characters.
    But there are negative aspects too, the weapon system became too complicated (f.e. too many amunition types, some of them don't even have a explanation or not as effective as the were in the first game) and the spear became quite useless (can't upgrady anymore, machines constantly stunlock you with damage too fast before you can combi attack them). So I liked the fighting system a lot more in Part1. I am still missing interesting side quests (the side character related quests were a good improvement tho), and I don't understand why the really nice flashpoint option to chose between dialogues (heart, brain, fist) is so rarely used. I also miss the wonderful richness of audio and text massages to find about what happened in the past (but this is kind of owed to the fact Aloy already knows most thing about past, the datapoints were one of my highlights in part1) - most of the ones in part 2 are quite boring. Upgrading good gear or armour becomes too hard after the first or second upgrade already.
    Overall Forbidden West is a 8+/10, sadly still not a masterpiece. They improved a lot of aspects while in most other aspects they failed to reach the greatness of part 1. I am really looking farward to part 3 and my biggest wish remained unfullfilled - I WANT TO FIGHT A HORUS TITAN!!! EVERYONE WANTS TO FIGHT ONE OF THESE MONSTERS!!! :D PLEAAAASEEEE!    … Expand

    As Zero Dawn was one of my favourite games on PS4, buying Horizon Forbidden West on day 1 really was a no brainer. I mean, that game announcement at the 2020 PS5 reveal event made me want to make the switch to PS5 asap in the first place!

I mean, that game announcement at the 2020 PS5 reveal event made me want to make the switch to PS5 asap in the first place!

    In H:FW Guerilla delivers a beautiful, huge open world set in the post-apocalyptic American west (Utah, Nevada, California), in which the player can discover new places, new machines, and new stories. So far, I spent 130+ hours with Aloy in this world and still haven't achieved 100% completion or fully unfogged the map. With that being said, I don't feel like I wasted my time: I want to go back in!

    Besides the improvements in graphics and gameplay, I especially enjoyed all the additional animations and dialogue options with NPCs (exhaust them all & regularly speak with your friends - there's some intriguing lore that's easily missable!), the general quality of side quests (Witcher 3 level!), and the environmental storytelling (Naughty Dog level!)! One can tell the high production value of this game from any of those aspects.

    My only gripe with Horizon Forbidden West - and the reason why it's not 10/10 for me - is the main story. Similar to H:ZD, the start is slow (which is fine) and creates opportunity for some mind-blowing reveals or story twists. However, the writers chose to play it very safe, with a 3rd game in mind, and ultimately failed to deliver on a convincing endgame. This was much better realized in H:ZD. Still, it's not a bad story by any means. There are some really cool story beats and moments in Horizon Forbidden West and, once NG+ is released, I will give it another go and main-line the game. Sometimes, a second more condensed play through is needed to fully appreciate the developer's vision.    … Expand

    My personal 2022 GOTY while I understand it criticisms it tackles themes of AI, Colonialism, Loyalty, Extinction, and Family also improves on mechanics and adds more mechanics as well expands Aloys journey as well the story as well being Inclusive and diverse A Fantastic Sequel 10/10

    Horizon Forbidden West esta cheio de detalhes incríveis as conversas que interligam muita coisa pelo mundo todo um jogo indispensável para os grandes amantes dos jogos. A jogabilidade esta tão fluida que da um gosto enorme de jogar.

The music as well; if you listen to it is incredible and the story itself keep you intrigued. However, there are sadly flaws. Firstly, I feel the fights are not as strategical as its processor and can be chaotic at times andThis could of easily been a 10 and it is such a shame. The races especially were infuriating, especially when I got stuck against the side, or when Aloy get's stuck against a tree for instance when trying to flee the chaotic fights. The vista points were equally just as frustrating and I just ended up googling them to get the answers and have them out of the way. All in all a great game which just fell short from being a classic. Hopefully in the months that come, there are fixes that sort these issues.… Expand

    I'm really loving this game. I experienced a weird difficulty spike at around level 15 which is slightly annoying, but there's a custom difficulty option to help with that.

    Ya que he terminado al 100% este título puedo decir que en muchos aspectos es muy superó a su antecesor Zero Dawn. Para empezar me gustaría tocar la historia, la verdad en muchos aspectos me ha parecido superior la historia de este títulos en cuanto a desarrollo, porque por primera vez podemos conocer el lado vulnerable de Aloy, a comparación del juego pasado que veíamos ese lado de ellaYa que he terminado al 100% este título puedo decir que en muchos aspectos es muy superó a su antecesor Zero Dawn. Para empezar me gustaría tocar la historia, la verdad en muchos aspectos me ha parecido superior la historia de este títulos en cuanto a desarrollo, porque por primera vez podemos conocer el lado vulnerable de Aloy, a comparación del juego pasado que veíamos ese lado de ella de poder saber de quien viene, a donde pertenece, ahora la vemos que por primera vez ella ve que no puede hacerlo sola después de que la situación la llevará a sus límites.r encanto ese punto de llevar el título a un lado más espacial, que en el juego pasado nos dieran algunas pistas y que ahora se pudiera ahondar más a lo que sucedió. También me gustó mucho el trasfondo que se le dio a los personajes secundarios, se les dio como un sentimiento de quererlos, de ayudarlos, por ejemplo nadie hubiera pensado que personajes que pasaron desapercibidos como Varl o Eren en esta entrega tuvieran un gran peso, eso sí, hay personajes que a pesar que dijeron que tendrían peso y serían recordados la verdad no los sentí, por ejemplo Regalla, una enemiga que la verdad no sentí su verdadero peso, por el hecho en que ella no aparece tanto como uno quisiera, no la sientes como una verdadera amenaza en la historia la vez como un personaje que aparece de repente y ya. Otra personaje que no sentí ese peso fue Tilda, siento que ese personaje daba para mucho más, que tendría un trasfondo mayor y mucha más historia que contar, pero lastimosamente aparece poco y que así como aparece la eliminan de plano muy rápido y de la peor manera. Moviéndome a otro apartado, en el apartado artístico y musical, han dado un gran salgo a comparación del anterior título, el soundtrack de este títulos si que dio un gran salto, en el anterior título pasaba que su música como que no te ayudaba a sumergirte en este mundo, pero la música de esta segunda entrega en definitiva se ha hecho mejor, se ha hecho pensado en la ambientación e inmersión, en el tema artístico me ha parecido increíble como adaptaron estas nuevas locaciones, que a pesar son los mismos biomas que vimos en el anterior título, esta ves les pusieron mejor detalle en el aspecto de vegetación, fauna, clima, partículas etc. Una cosa que puedo decir que si me quedo a deber fue el tema del combate, que a pesar que como ellos dijeron, que había mejoras en el combate con humanos, la verdad es que si mejora, pero no evoluciona a la fórmula usada en el anterior título, siento que si no fuera por factores como escudos en algunos enemigos, puedes pegarlos a lo loco y aún así vencerlos, no es que haya evolucionado, solo mejoraron un poco lo que se hizo en el anterior. En cuento a las misiones secundarias me gusta que en varias de estas misiones secundarias se les diera una historia o continuación a como ibas avanzando en la historia pero eso sí, siento que bajo un poco en el aspecto que hacer o no hacer esas misiones no tenga alguna consecuencia en el futuro, por ejemplo, en Zero Dawn si hacías ciertas misiones secundarias o el DLC algunos de los personajes de esas misiones salían y te ayudaban de cierta manera en la misión final, cosa que no pasa en esta, puede no hacer ninguna misión y no habrá afectado en nada en la historia. Por lo que creo que este título es un título digno para llámese secuela, mejorando muchos aspectos del juego anterior y que espero una futura entrega para que de cierre a esta historia de Aloy… Expand

    I saw a review saying that in this game is feminist and man either suck or are villains. Wich is stupid considering that more than half of alloys allies are male and very competent and the villains are women. I will counter that review then.
    Be cleared i love this game, it doesnt reeinvent the wheel but it upgrades vastlly on the first game. The perfect sequel to already amazing predecessor Horizon Zero Dawn. Great characters, better machines, amazing map, weapons and so much more. Aloy is one of my favorite video game characters of all time. Cannot recommend it more Guerilla Games has nailed it.

    20 Hours in, if you enjoyed Zero Dawn. You will Enjoy Forbidden West. Story is compelling, graphics are amazing. Performance mode works better for my set up. And the skills and leveling system are all an upgrade from from its predecessor. One of the few games where the sandbox checklist never gets dull, love getting lost in Horizons world!

    Improves over the first game in pretty much every way. Side missions all feel important and not phoned in or repetitive. Exploring is always rewarded. And the direction the main story takes is riveting. Some really great, Game of Thrones quality, world building. Just like the first game, combat is excellent.

    Game builds upon the 1st in almost every way. Graphics are top notch on PS5 and it runs very smooth at 4k mode. The gameplay is still fun and engaging and the story picks up right where it left off in the 1st one.

    I enjoyed every moment of this game, and will be going back for more. The improved upon the first game and told the story in even a better way.

    I had fun, the story moved me, and this was just everything I wanted in a sequel.

    Amazing game. Builds on the first one and adds so many new robots to kill. The story and events dont really matter to me. I just want to kill robot animals and do bad ass things as Aloy. This game is perfect for that! I got the platinum in around 40 hours and really enjoyed it. Not a masterpiece or does anything groundbreaking but an amazing game for your PS5

    This stuff is just way epic. Was a bit concerned they wouldnt be able to reach the same height of storytelling after the first part revealed the big "how did the world become this way" secret. But not only does it deliver in story again, the gameplay and quests have been heavily improved.

    Sehr gutes Spiel was man von Anfang bis Ende empfehlen kann.
    Auch der erste Teil war schon bemerkenswert und die Entwickler haben es tatsächlich hier wieder geschafft das hohe Niveau des ersten Teils zu halten.

    Einzig negativ sind mir einige Queststopper aufgefallen, die ich aber mit einem Neuladen des Spielstands beheben konnte.

There were a couple issues, like frame rate drops (rare), pop in, and getting wrecked taking damage while you were waiting for your character to stand back up. These have largely been fixed.

    I liked the story. In fact I changed my normal habit of doing all the side content before finishing the main story. I really wanted to see what happened. Some might prefer the story of the last game. But seriously if you thought the last game was worth playing, then play this one. The open world is beautiful.

Forbidden West came with my PS5 so I decided to give it a chance and I'm very glad I did. It fixed nearly every issue I had with the original game. The combat feels very good and the graphics are great. The 60 FPS performance mode makes me happy. The open world is fun toI didn't have a whole lot of interest in Forbidden West.     Things I Wasn't Impressed With: The grind is real. Except it's not in leveling up, but rather in gear acquisition and improvement.

    The hunting challenges were a low point in Zero Dawn, but I wasn't surprised they kept them in Forbidden West. But to add fighting pits and arena battles was surprising. At first, the fighting pits and hunting challenges were fairly easy. However, the final set of each (in the lowlands, I believe) were unnecessarily difficult. For the last hunting challenge and arenas, you almost have to turn down the difficulty to make it bearable. For the last fight pit, you need to look up what to do online because the instructions in the game are incorrect (spent about an hour before looking it up online, then tried to revised instructions and completed the fight pit challenges in like 30 seconds each). Gear is locked behind these challenges, so it's important to complete them.

    Gear improvement is a chore. You have to go out of your way (admittedly, creating a "job" makes this pretty easy) to improve your gear and you 100% won't be able to do it by naturally progressing with the story and exploration of the map (couldn't even get my legendary gear to level 2 without creating a job when all I had left was the final story mission).

    No spoilers, but the late game reveal that teases the sequel seemed very " and then..." story writing. I couldn't help but roll my eyes and sigh at it.

    Lastly, machine strike is a garbage game. Developer's keep trying to make the new Gwent. Gwent was a simple game. Machine strike is more complicated than chess. What doofus thought this would be a good idea?    … Expand

    Cuando arranco el juego por primera vez, reviso las opciones gráficas y solo encuentro: modo rendimiento / modo resolución, asi qué decido ponerlo a modo rendimiento, ya que en 2022 jugar a 30fps me resulta imposible y nauseabundo (bendita ignorancia a los gamers que se conforman con 30fps en pleno 2022). Mi sorpresa es ver una fluidez de 60fps con una representación gráfica esperpéntica, con dientes de sierra (aliasing) por las nubes, distancia de dibujado aunque buena, muy lejos de una nitidez aceptable y una paleta de colores disonantes por momentos.

    La verdad y QUE NO OS MIENTAN el juego no se ve minimamente aceptable en cuanto a gráficos se refiere en modo rendimiento, está manchado por un reescalado que a mi parecer es de 720... ¡Te puedes imaginar! ¡Un desastre! En resolución el juego es perfecto, es gráficamente imponente y a la altura, pero corre con suerte a 30fps! por lo que a mi, se me hace en 2022 injugable. Digo 30fps por ser generoso, se me hacen unos 25fps con suerte...

    Me parece lamentable que corra en PS5 a 30 fps en modo resolución ¡y menos mal que el título es intergeneracional!... Sin duda espero que en unos años pueda jugarlo en PC y DLSS activado en ultra, calidad gráfica en ultra y entre 100fps y 144fps (que menos en 2022) o saquen un parche que solucione todo este embrollo para PS5...

    Asique:

    - Si eres de los que les gusta ver juegos a 30 fps y te parece la ostia, adelante, compralo el juego es entretenido.
    - Si no te gusta un reescalado para los 60fps, no lo compres, espera a PC si lo sacan o parche...

    Por último comentar que personalmente a mi el juego me parece una pasada en ambientación, jugabilidad, mecanicas, etc, y solo manchado por el reescalado y optimización que nada tiene que ver con los videos del state of play.

    Me preocupa mucho que muy poca gente, analistas y "expertos" no mencione todo esto... Lamentable como de costumbre.

    Le pongo un 0 por ahora, hasta que solucionen el tema del reescalado que me hace injugable este titulo. (YA SOLUCIONADO CON UN PARCHE)

But the graphics in performance mode are significantly worse. Looks like PS5 is not powerful enough to provide you with both amazing graphics and performance. The graphics in quality mode are amazing, probably making the game the best looking ever. But the graphics in performance mode are significantly worse. Looks like PS5 is not powerful enough to provide you with both amazing graphics and performance. I have finished the game and can definitely recommend it - you will have a lot of fun, no doubt. But it's just sad Sony was not able to optimize their own game for their own console... I just can't play in Quality mode due to 30 FPS which makes me dizzy and gives me headaches. But the Performance mode has an immense drop in graphics that ruins immersion so that the game doesn't look like a PS5 game.… Expand

    What an amazing game. I experienced slight glitches day one but amazing game. The story, open world, and graphics are a masterpiece in its own right. A sequel that beats the original in every way. It would be an essential game for all players.

    Fantastic game with a beautiful world, creative side stories & the main story that surpasses many mainstream movies & shows. Works brilliantly on PS4 with minor hiccups. Definitely a worthwhile successor that surpasses the original.

    its hard to hate on this s**t. what a masterful sequel Guerrilla put together. fantastic story telling and acting/voice acting. so many upgrades and side missions to discover, A more matured Aloy makes it immersive and feel real. i like the fact you can fast travel for free now at any already discovered campfire, that was a nice touch. many different mechs and of course the tallnecksits hard to hate on this s**t. what a masterful sequel Guerrilla put together. fantastic story telling and acting/voice acting. so many upgrades and side missions to discover, A more matured Aloy makes it immersive and feel real. i like the fact you can fast travel for free now at any already discovered campfire, that was a nice touch. many different mechs and of course the tallnecks return for map updates! interesting new boss fights, new armor and weapons that suits the players style and needs. I didnt really run into much technical problems,,,you know bugs, glitches, frame rate drops etc etc etc. the game runs smooth as hell when the performance is active. The gameplay here is fun and the audio design is fantastic, the UI is better this time around. The characters are written with so much care and depth that people COMPLAIN about to much info which alot of is optional the NPCs and side characters are written to the point where you care about them in a mission I played the two characters where feuding and I had to choose who to side with I chose the one over the other because of what I learned from him by listening to the dialogue and how he felt about me%Aloy and his people. Its doesn't really impact the. Game but a difficult choice that requires some thought if you like either of the characters. Horizon has some problems too but my essay is getting quite big so briefly I would like the combat to be expanded on more. We need more variety with in the various activities, machine strike is fun but needs more depth. Keep the climbing mechanic as it is but make more things climb able and the focus should highlight more things to interact with, thank you guerilla for that though. The bugs and glitches are a result of development under Covid and Quarantine so I won't consider them in the review at all but they are small so they don't effect your game play at all and performance is rock solid on ps4 and PS5. I can't wait to see what lies beyond the Horizon of Horizon Forbidden West.     I'm speechless, i've never seen something like this. Forbidden west reaches new heights approaching perfection, but what really amazed me was the quality of the facial animations, not that the rest is any less but on this it set a new standard

    A masterpiece! Graphics are insane (the water in this game is breathtaking) and the gameplay has been upgraded over Zero Dawn in a good way.
    If you own a PS5 it's a must have!

    I fell in love with you this game. After I played the first one I knew I would be a fan of the series the concept and gameplay was amazing to begin with. This game improved in every way compared to the first. I’ll start with the gameplay. The bow fells amazing and it was awesome what they did with the haptics and adaptive triggers. There are so many creative and cool robotic dinosaurs. The human enemies are also very fun to fight, especially when you can multiple headshot combos. The way they did the skills tree and weapon upgrades was a vast improvement from the last. Focusing on a specific weapon you like upgrading it all the way was super challenging but also really rewarding. The skill tree was kinda cool felt a little over complicated, and it didn’t blow me away. Now onto the plot. The main reason I’m obsessed with this game is because of the amazing concept behind it. I couldn’t explain to you how cool it was. Through out my whole play through I was searching through every piece of lore I could get. Usually in a video game I just get a journal entry and think to my self “oh cool” with out reading it. Not this game though every datapoint has an interesting story behind it. Of course I have to say something about the amazing graphics. This was pretty much my one next gen console experience and I was blown away. At the end of the game you get a flyable mount and the view is spectacular. Out of the whole game there was only one thing that felt not up to par. It was the ending it just felt weird like it’s trying to just make up stuff on the fly. It did give a nice resolution with the characters though. There are many other things I could go on and on about but I think I’ll stop there.… Expand

    Great gameplay physics story graphics and weopons. The world is worth exploring and enemy design is superb. The pop-ins are annoying but they don't ruin the game. Looking forward to the next game

    Horizon has enchanted me again. After a slow start, a graphically beautiful, sophisticated sequel comes, polished in every aspect, and underscored by a great soundtrack on top of that. The sequel was simply a success. Everything that worked before works even slightly better now. [Issue#317]

    Horizon Forbidden West is Guerrilla's best game to date, taking Aloy to new heights with a blockbuster release that meets the high standards set by PlayStation in recent years. While it's totally worth fans jumping in on day one, it's perhaps better to wait a few weeks until all the bugs are ironed out.

    Horizon Forbidden West is exactly what everyone thought it would be: an amazing game. It has an open world with plenty of things to do and places to explore, fights against some really well-developed machines and stunning visuals. The feeling is that the second game of the series improves on what was already great, and it feels rewarding and fun to play. It is another single-player masterpiece from Sony.
