    Games amazing and it just has so much to do. Really enjoyed growing plants and breeding beasts among other things lots of content to be had.

    Not being a hairy Potter fan (I was 21 years old when I first heard of hogwarts, it just wasn't my generation), I was worried that this game would constantly remind me of the juvenile nature of the books. I tried like hell to enjoy Kingdom Hearts, but accepting Goofy and Donald duck as "warriors" made my skin crawl.
    BUT, while there is clearly a lot of lore/fanservice in this game, for    Not being a hairy Potter fan (I was 21 years old when I first heard of hogwarts, it just wasn't my generation), I was worried that this game would constantly remind me of the juvenile nature of the books. I tried like hell to enjoy Kingdom Hearts, but accepting Goofy and Donald duck as "warriors" made my skin crawl.
    BUT, while there is clearly a lot of lore/fanservice in this game, for someone not interested in investing time in the stories, it was easy to focus on the SOLID combat and FUN FACTOR. I named by character Garalt Of Rivia, and gave him white hair, and raised the "cool factor" by atleast 40%.

    One of the best SP games I've played in the last 10 years. It makes you feel completely integrated into the story.
    And I'm glad JKR created this wonderful world the way it is! She is right in everything she wrote and said!

    It’s the Harry Potter game I’ve been waiting for since I saw the first movie and played the first game! As a 30 year old man, it makes me feel like I’m 10 again! So much magic and so many places to explore you’ll never get bored. 80 hours could easily be dropped on just exploring the surrounding valley Hogwarts is in. A rare 10/10 for me.

    While this game does have its share of typical open world bugs and issues, the overall experience is fantastic. I find the pacing and overall gameplay loops to be incredibly addicting. I frequently find myself losing hours of the day just searching for lore or setting up my room of requirement. There is so much content abs so much magic in this game.     Another Ubisoft open-world game

    What I liked: - Environments look GORGEOUS - Acquiring spells is nice - Some small missions like sneaking into the library are fun - A few adorable characters like the herbology teacher What I didn't like: - Places are empty, only chests with gear or money in them - everything feels like a tutorial - lipsync/facial expressions are horrendous - voice acting    Another Ubisoft open-world game

    The amount of bugs is just enormous. Never stopping vibration, sometimes it just fails to switch between targets or even when target is chosen it shoots barrel into the wall. The amount of chaos in fighting system is just crazy, shield that you need to cast and when you do you cannot do anything else. The game is just crazy and I am hardcore gamer. Hate it to the guts.

    An extremely repetitive game in all senses. Side quests seem irrelevant to the story, combat is boring and the tutorial portion of the game takes way too long before you can actually start exploring open world. It’s too bad because you can tell a lot of money and time was spent on making it - but the finished product just feels sloppy. Like a worse cyberpunk

Please note that I played this game on the PlayStation 5 so I am not aware of any other bugs are glitches that might be on PC or Xbox version I will say the story does start out slow, but those Harry Potter fans who have been waiting for an RPG type of game where you can be your ownAs a long time gamer, I always believe that a game should be judged on its own merit and that’s what I did. Please note that I played this game on the PlayStation 5 so I am not aware of any other bugs are glitches that might be on PC or Xbox version I will say the story does start out slow, but those Harry Potter fans who have been waiting for an RPG type of game where you can be your own student at Hogwarts, does not disappoint the gameplay mechanics that are used how they integrated spells in the combat, and how fighting worked kind of similar to the Witcher 3 and this game takes advantage of the new dual sense controller with resistant triggers and vibration feedback. this world, feels alive and vibrant, taking aspects from both the books and films and incorporating it into the portrayal of the Wizarding world. The developer went out of their way to make sure that this world felt alive, and was true to both the movies and books, and to Harry Potter fans who have been waiting for a Harry Potter RPG there are some aspects that could be improved like flying. For example, the controls are hard to control, the lack of consequences specifically to whether or not, you use the unforgivable curses or go down the dark path. There are interesting characters along the way that you meet some old some new some who are even ancestors to the original characters. Overall, this game is a great first step of an RPG based in the Wizarding world I’m expecting there will probably be DLC to add to this game. That’ll probably improve it along the way not to mention that this game has sold even before release I would say in my opinion it’s definitely a game of the year contender and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were to make a sequel to this, so I would give this a 9 out of 10 very very great game not perfect but no game is ever perfect… Expand

    Hogwarts Legacy is a fantastic game.
    I only got about 8 to 9 hours into this game, and I still barely scratched the surface of this game. You can really get lost in this game, from exploring the halls of Hogwarts to exploring the streets of Hogsmeade Village. And for someone who is a big fan of the Harry Potter franchise, this just brings joy to my heart to be experiencing all of this    Hogwarts Legacy is a fantastic game.

    Overall, the game is a 10/10, I do however have to mention that the game does have small bugs in it. Which is something to be expected in a big open world game like this. But I believe with a few patches from the developers can easily fix those small bugs. But it doesn't ruin the overall experience of the game whatsoever.

    Hogwarts Legacy clearly deserve the Game of the Year for 2023. And it's worth it to pick up if you are a fan of Harry Potter, even if you are not a fan, it's still worth to play it for how big and expansive the game is.    … Expand

    Top 5 game all time in my 35 years of gaming. The crafting and cosmetics are present and fun but not convoluted or overemphasized. A few combat elements could benefit from a patch, but tons of fun in it's current state on PS5.

    Hogwarts Legacy is like my dream came true. I read Harry Potter first book back in 1998 before the first movie even came out. Since then, I've been wanting Harry Potter RPG where I can visit the bank, visit the town, browse wands, potion, cloak, brooms, etc, visiting hostile area outside school, dueling other wizards/witches
    All of that element are exist in this game and I'm loving it

    I only saw the first movie 20 years ago. I'm not a Harry Potter fan, but I have nothing against it. I bought this game due to the FOMO and yeah it's pretty amazing so far. Everything about it so far is well done and it actually makes me want to watch the movies finally. I'd love to see a Star Wars Jedi/Sith game in this style. Hopefully this game's success inspires that.

    I think the game is great. It has lagging, absolute **** story, and a lot of other issues but i think it just is really good. I haven't even gotten a broom yet, and i can for sure say the world is great. There is a lot to do in between main quests, which is great. Overall good, has issues, some of which may still be fixed later.

    It is undeniable the amount of attention to detail and love went into this game. The Hogwarts castle alone is phenomenal and the fact that there’s so much more to explore outside of it is mind blowing.     This is the quintessential Harry Potter game. It's the Jedi Fallen Order or Insomniac Spider-man of Harry potter games. It plays pristine, is incredibly detailed and expansive, and combat is sooo fun. And this is before it even launched. Props to the *DEVS* not (she who shall not be named)

    Phenomenal game. Not only is this fan service at its finest. It takes elements from games such as the Witcher, Bully, and Elder Scrolls. If you add in everything that you can do in the Room of requirement then I would be tempted to even say stardew valley. GOTY nominee for sure

    The game that every Wizarding World fan has wanted. It has areas to improve but for the game to come out on day 1 and perform like this takes me back to when we got complete games out of the box. A lot more can be added in sequels but this game knows what it is and hits the mark.

    Truly a wonderful game and a fresh take on the wizard inc world. Plenty of callbacks to the stories we know while trying to distinguish itself from the movies with original design. I love playing it

    I never liked the Harry Potter books or movies. That said, this is good solid game. The hogwarts setting which I thought would be the main turn off for me is actually quite interesting to play through. Fun gameplay, interesting story, great music, exciting exploration. Only gripe I have is flying mechanics are kinda wonky to get used to.

Amazing honestly, the story, the combat and even the visuals. if your a new gamer from the past 2 years you wont like these graphics but to the people that have been playing games for more than 15 years this game is a master piece. So enjoyable andI must of read 100 reviews before purchasing this game, don't do it anymore I can tell you straight up this game is stupid good and addicting.     I am blown away by this game. It's not only the best game in the Harry Potter universe, it's a wonderful open-world game that even non-fans will have a great time with. The castle and the rest of the world are gorgeous, filled with secrets and magic, everything is constantly moving and there's always something to see or do. Some of the puzzles are great as well, the music is fantastic and flying on your broom or mount is almost therapeutic.

    It's not perfect, but I think there are no perfect games. The gear system is not good at all, some of the side quests are kind of dull but you don't have to do them unlike the recent Assassin's Creed games, so I would have given this game a 9/10. But Avalanche deserve nothing less than a 10 here for this achievement. This surely wasn't easy given their lack of experience with such games and the awful discourse around this proejct, including the boycott threats. But they've given everything they had, poured so much love into this, and somehow they exceeded the extremely high expectations fans had. This is truly a gaming miracle.

    JK Rowling is a horrible person, but the wizarding world is not hers alone anymore. It's the music of John Williams, the art design of Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima, the actors from the movies, and now to this mostly-amazing list join the people from Avalanche Software.     Great game so far! I wish there was more emphasis on choice and consequence but the world and gameplay is great. I'm not a Harry Potter fan but I love open world RPG style magic games so I had to try it out

    En PS5 el Modo RT luce inceible y casi que igual que un PC con una RTX 4080 todo en Ultra.

    I spent 30 hours doing chores. Going to one place, not knowing why, not even caring why. I didn't care about ANY character, the game is boring like no other.
    There was a good potential as I think the graphics are pretty good and the castle is well done. However the rest of the game's mechanics are awful.     As a fan of the Harry Potter series, Hogwarts Legacy is a really good gift for Harry Potter fans. There are times when I get stressed out by puzzles, and the forced conditions for progressing the story are really tricky and annoying, but I enjoy it enough.

    Best harry potter game ever and one of the most polished games ever. Favorite things about it :
    - the ability to build a base and the customization options
    - the attention to detail and how much there is to explore, you can open almost every door you can see
    - 120 fps mode, stable

    Only complaint is that the control scheme in combat is not very ergonomic and takes a lot of getting used to.

    Simply a great game no matter how you slice it. Good story, user friendly controls/gameplay. The amount of detail that went into all the architecture of Hogwarts Castle is beyond words. Looking forward to DLC's and a sequel!

Its not anything revolutionary or game changing but it's fun to play. Combat can actually be surprisingly challenging at times. Spell changing can be a bit of an annoyance but nothing gamebreaking.     Absolutely FANTASTIC Game!!! As a Harry Potter fan, I always wanted a game like this. You can explore whole Hogwarts + Hogsmead and other smaller villages. The Story is nice, but there are some things you only understand if you watched the movies or/and read the books. And this makes the game even more interesting.

    If you grew up a Harry Potter fan and still have Hogwarts in your heart, this might be a dream come true. Hogwarts Legacy is exactly what you'd expect from an open-world RPG set in this universe. Immersive and beautifully crafted, with lots of spells, challenges, beasts, quests, combat and great storytelling. It's so much fun, you could drive 100+ hours without feeling it.

    Game has become my favorite ever already. The time I'm gonna pour into customizing the personal rooms alone is gonna be tremendous. I don't know how they put so much great stuff into this game, but im blown away. It's unbelievable how much/how many layers this beautifully crafted game has. In awe.

    This game is a childhood dream come true, whether you are a fan of harry potter or not the world capture your heart. the gameplay is snappy and fun with a wide variety of spells to choose from. and don't let anyone bully you into not buying this game or guilt trip you. its just a video game that's all there is to it

    I am putting a preface on this about the trans rights issue so there is no mistake where I stand on it and show it has nothing to do with my feelings of the game.
    I will start by saying I am by no means a Harry Potter fanboy. I was an adult when the books became popular, and read them a few times yes, but I also read a lot of books. I found them enjoyable and creative. I thought it was great that young people were being introduced to the world of reading.
    The movies I thought were ridiculous until probably after the last one was released. I am not incredibly into kids movies, or even franchises like Star Wars, and Marvel. (I got into marvel movies very late and stopped being as judgy about them).
    So I am coming at this from an RPG fan, and a standard amount of post-adulthood Harry Potter book reader.
    I am also a trans rights supporter. I have dated trans women since my early 20s. I am married now, but never had any issue openly dating trans women, and defending them. I also consider myself bisexual. I have trans family members (2 niblings, and a first cousin's child whom I am close to). I find most of what JK said deplorable and ridiculous. I do feel there is room to try to understand trans issues better, and we can question how we react as parents to our child that is saying they are trans. But most of what JK said was unfounded and ridiculous. I wish she did not choose to die on this hill. It mostly shows how willing she is to be stubborn in her ignorance. Sex is real yes. Biological sex is a thing. Gender historically has been primarily based on biological sex, but obviously it has been imperfect since the beginning of documented history. Many cultures have accepted more than 2 genders. It is not the end of the world - and in fact trans people are mostly lovely, reasonable, grounded people. But biological sex is not the only thing JK ranted about. She talked about bathroom r**e which just has nothing to do with trans rights. Among other things. So I understand why people dislike her so greatly now.
    My preface is long and actually much longer but I would not have room for the review so I am cutting it there. But I want to make it clear I am not a bigot, anti-trans, right wing, or an HP "fanboy"

    The game is fantastic though. Graphics issues yes - sound/voice issues yes - again this is pre-release technically so we can expect a day 1 patch, or perhaps a patch within the first month I am sure to correct most issues.
    The combat is amazing. Spells work together better than most RPGs. Flying is amazing. The environments are amazing. The intro was beautiful. The attention to detail will be welcome by book lovers of the series.

    Slight spoiler regarding the first 3 minutes of the game:
    In the beginning the carriage is taking the characters to Hogwarts and of course flying seemingly by itself. The carriage is attacked and one of the characters plumets to the ground and dies. As soon as he dies, you see the thestral horses appear. I know this sounds like "so what?" but it is quite effective and directed brilliantly.

    The tone, and world building is so true to Harry Potter that you could see it as another entry to the films or perhaps a new series of the books. Yes the writing would need some improvements but overall it is quite well done.
    Combat is very fun in it. I am at 16 hours in and it just gets more fun. The way the spells work together is leagues above most RPGs. There aren't as many spells as some games, but that is actually a good thing in some ways. It makes it less cumbersome and avoids the overwhelming feeling some people get when building characters. It is advanced enough to please most advanced gamers, and simple enough for basic players to grasp with practice. It is obvious they worked hard on balancing the combat system.
    The exploration is well rewarded, and always a blast. The flying in it is quite fun.
    Although there is a common gear issue like some games (Ghost Recon-like gear issues) where youre constantly getting new items, but there are also some really good looking gear appearances so you can keep looking the way you want.
    The world is quite massive, and the quests are actually fun and interesting. People are claiming its just "fetch" quests but that is not really true. Sure a few fetch quests, but the environment makes up for that. The potential for DLC, expansion, are endless. The game is amazing and well worth your time. Ignore fanboys, review bombers boycotting the game as well, and play it if you enjoy large scale RPGs with good world building.    … Expand

    This game is actually really good. It has been so long since I have felt so immersed in a world. The game does a great job at making you feel like a student in a magical world. I give it a 9, because there are some sporadic performance issues, and because the story isnt as good as it could have been.

    This game is amazing. If you’re a fan of Harry Potter (and even if you’re not) you are going to love this game. It’s an open-world RPG set around magic, how could it be bad? The reason for the low ratings is due to the controversy surrounding J.K. Rowling’s views. This has nothing to do with the game. It’s the most fun I’ve had in a long time on a single-player game!

    I’m about 30 hours into the game tbh this game is surprisingly good I bought the game because as a kid I watched Harry Potter a lot and the law in this game is amazing and the combat if you aren’t a fan of Harry Potter you will be after playing this game

    By far one of the best games I’ve played in a long time. I have about 25 hours in Hogwarts Legacy so far and I’m only scratching the surface. The open world is pretty large and absolutely beautiful. If you are a fan of the movies you will most likely enjoy the game. A lot of the settings look just like out of the movies. The combat though not the flashiest feels extremely fluid andBy far one of the best games I’ve played in a long time.     Was not expecting this game to live up to the hype, however after over 30 hours in game, it just keeps delivering ! There are multiple varieties to the story also so replayability seems great (not started a second story yet). My only criticism being that the inventory management system being a bit tedious.

    Absolutely a master piece, I’ve bought this game after knowing the controversy and I have to say I’d disagree on the whole thing, they hit this off to the park. My friend that is transgender does not like what the other side is doing to the whole “controversy” she is hoping this will pass and not have influence for the opposite side of thinking trans people will have worse rep out of this.

    The game is beyond beautiful and very easy to get lost in, I can spend hours walking around Hogwarts and be utterly amazed by the amount of love and detail they put into this game. Harry Potter fans like myself will love this game, and if you haven't watched or read the books give this game a shot, you won't regret it.

On the other hand, the character customization is fairly extensive allowing the User to create a character unique to them; the clothing/aesthetic options are pretty vast as well. Being a long time Harry Potter fan, I enjoyed the story for the most part and the spell casting and gameplay mechanics are smooth outside of the FPS drops, if not somewhat repetitive. The open world is massive and well populated with constant discoveries to be made. Crossing my fingers that they're able to integrate quidditch as they continue to improve the broom flying mechanics and make the game more optimized. There are moments when it feels like a game, as in collect this, go there, do this, come back. But that is to be expected. Overall it's fun and I have very much enjoyed it.

    TLDR; the game is fun and immersive. Can feel gamey at times, but doesn't dampen the experience as the gamey stuff isn't essential. The best way to experience the world of wizarding world.    … Expand

    It's been a decade since we've had a full Potterverse game, but the wait has been well worth it. Hogwarts Legacy gets just about everything right, with its involving storyline and myriad of main and side quests. Perhaps its finest feature though is Hogwarts itself, providing as much joy in just exploring the halls as performing set tasks. We doubt a single Harry Potter fan will be disappointed. We certainly weren't.
