    I’ve never enjoyed a game this much since elden ring. My childhood fantasy coming to life and it’s more than I could ever dream of. I’ve always wanted to explore the magical castle, I often find myself wandering around and getting lost. The whole experience is just absolutely magical.

    To start things off, this game does not break the open world monotony of past years. Don't get me wrong, the world is fun to explore with a ton of things to do, but it does not break off of the Ubisoft open world genre with tons of markers on the map with copy and paste content. If you hate this aspect of modern gaming, this game will do nothing for you.

    What it however feels like is a start to a fun new franchise that refreshes the formula. Meaning this game is to old Harry Potter games what God of War 2018 is to the old God of War games. A new take on the franchise that sets up its sequel for greatness with mechanics that should be polished in the future.

    One of the mechanics that certainly needs such polishing for the sequel is the gearing and leveling system. The gear you can loot is tied to your level. Level 4 characters have the possibility to loot level 5 gear which is often worse than the level 2 piece you got two hours ago. If you want to loot the max level gear, level 40, you should be at least level 39.

    The issue is that this game has a weirdly finite and limited experience meaning that I got level 40 only after finishing all challenges, all side quests and was left with only two main missions after the climax of the game. Neither of these missions features any combat.

    So what is the max level gear for? I don't know, to have it, I guess. It's the issue of wanting the gear to do the content, but needing to do the content to get xp to loot the best gear. It is a system that cannibalizes itself.

    On top of that, gear levels make little to no difference. The only thing you should care for is wearing the legendary (orange) pieces since they are the only ones that can slot the level three attributes. Attributes are randomly looted from collection chests and they are what the end game is all about.

    Between the three levels they have, you can go from doing 900 damage with a Glacius/Diffindo combo to 16k with the level three attributes slotted into your gear. It is these attributes that completely destroy the importance of gear levels. You are much better off wearing a level 30 Legendary gear piece, than level 40 Rare gear piece since the legendary one allows you to slot the max level attributes.

    I know this might sound like I hate the game since I spent the past five paragraphs ripping into one of its systems. But it is the opposite for me. It is because of the fact that I like this game so much that it allows me to go into detail on one of its aspects. Being harsh on things I like is proof to me that I spent a lot of time thinking about them. And Hogwarts legacy is a great game to be thinking about and wanting for its sequel to do better.     It gives you an authentic "Your Hogwarts Journey" feel. Even fetch quests are fun because of the seamless integration into the Harry Potter Universe. There will never be a game that comes closer to capturing this kind of experience again! Buy it now; you won't regret it!

    It's an amazing game that brings great storyline and the world of Hogwarts right to your TV. The gameplay is somehow excellent for both beginners and advanced players. It has so much depth and details that you can spend hours just walking around admiring everything. Cannot wait for the sequel with quidditch!

    This game is wonderful, from the beautiful graphics to the just goddamned passionate design. You can tell this game was made with purely the intention to give the Harry Potter fans a game out of the image they had in their head while reading the books. This game is great. A lot of people are hating on the game because of controversy.     If you're not a Harry Potter fan the game isn't all that great. Low enemy variety, boring side-quests, 95% of which are just fetch quests, no random encounters that make the world feel lived in, way too many collectables, uninspiring puzzles (Merlin trial's are a pitiful excuse for puzzles). Main story is very contrived, you're supposed to care for a wizarding world your characterIf you're not a Harry Potter fan the game isn't all that great. No meaningful choices to be made within the story besides what house you enter, which dictates only 1 quest being different. No meaningful choice to be made as to whether you want to be good or bad, you're always going to be a mass murderer but hailed as a savior, classic ludonarrative dissonance. But I do admit running around in the world you saw in the movies all those years ago has something magical about it. But the game itself is a poor excuse for an RPG when compared to games with compelling stories like witcher 3, New Vegas etc.

    The only thing holding this back from being a 10 for me was the lack of enemy variety as well as feeling almost too powerful even after bumping the difficulty up to hard. I would have also loved some raids (multiplayer) that awarded special gear only attainable from those challenges. Other than these few things, I'm over 30 hours in and have loved every second of the game.     Solid game, fun combat, good exploration, good graphics, and does a good job covering the source material. Suffers a bit from open world repetitive tasks/side missions but they are still creative enough and i enjoyed them but could be a negative for some. Very hopeful for a sequel.

It is also perfectly suited for everybody, Old Fans, New Fans and just casual video game players. The school feels alive and filled with students, the paintings talk and move and spell casting is amazing. Hogsmeade is just like in the movies, cozy. Harry Potter and its expansive world is so attractive and immersive, and dare I say it, one of the best beside Star Wars, LOTR and the like. It is also clearly a labor of love from its makers, putting in so many Easter eggs from the books and movies into the game. ReleasedHogwarts Legacy is proof that this franchise, despite JK Rowling's controversial views, is here to stay. Why not? Harry Potter and its expansive world is so attractive and immersive, and dare I say it, one of the best beside Star Wars, LOTR and the like. It is also clearly a labor of love from its makers, putting in so many Easter eggs from the books and movies into the game. Released first for the next generation, it is clearly a bona fide and first true 'next gen' game, and probably the first true 'killer app' for this console.… Expand

You can moosh buttons, but more rewarding is learning combos to take take down enemies faster or at a higher level. Strongly recommend.     The side quests are done great and are encouraging and interesting.
    The open world is beautiful but simple world design.
    Combat is nice and overall the game is great for the average gamer and excellent for Harry Potter fans.

    Love the game, can't wait for DLC but have to take points off for annoying hand holding + combat doesn't scale with skill - difficulty doesn't increase with your ability, especially when you get all the unforgivables. Overall, best WW experience since the original films!

I have always treated Harry as a fairy tale for preschoolers. But this game changed my mind! I fell in love with this universe. For the first time in many yearsGuys, I am 48 years old and I have never been a fan of Rowling's work (but I began to respect her just for one of her famous phrases!), I have not read a single Harry Potter book, I have not watched a single Harry Potter movie. I have always treated Harry as a fairy tale for preschoolers. But this game changed my mind! I fell in love with this universe. For the first time in many years - I understand that not only will I go through the game from start to finish, but I will also play more and more. Everything is great here! World, characters, atmosphere, graphics. Only one strange bug - the woman owner of the "Three Broomsticks" pub for some reason speaks in a male voice - the children and I laughed for a long time - it looks both funny and terribly ugly. Everything else is just great! It's not just a big game - it's huge. This is such work! I admire! My respect to the creators! And I just want to ask them - more!     This may be the best game I've ever played. I am mesmerized. Besides the main story line, which is unique and interesting, I got caught up in the unforgiveable curses side story line. This is truly an open-world game with some incredible graphics, and I found it gripping. You can go rogue and just begin to explore the map and see what you find. Maybe trolls? Maybe dark wizards? MaybeThis may be the best game I've ever played. I am mesmerized. Besides the main story line, which is unique and interesting, I got caught up in the unforgiveable curses side story line. This is truly an open-world game with some incredible graphics, and I found it gripping. You can go rogue and just begin to explore the map and see what you find. Maybe trolls? Maybe dark wizards? Maybe inferi? Maybe goblins?? Maybe what else??? I played through the main story line in a couple of weeks, by playing hours a day. It really is awesome and immersive. Now the rest of the game is the other 75% of what's available. I can't find a downside. This is epic.… Expand

    I just beat the game and wow, what an accomplishment on the part of the dev team! For a developer with no prior experience on open world games, they did a stellar game. Now I just hope they will work on expansions / DLCs that will bring us quidditch!

    The padding in the story is really bad but the story is ok. I really enjoyed the combat, the other gameplay elements were also pretty good. I found it hard for me to go back to the game and finish quests because of the padding.

    If you're fan of Harry Potter, then this is the game for you.
    Great visuals, beautiful music, good controls, enjoyable story, a lot of content that will keep you playing and staying in the world of Hogwarts for a long time.
    Great game so solid 10/10.

    Amazing game. Excited about the future of this series as this game has a ton of room for expansion. The current iteration of the game is everything I have dreamed about since a kid and more. I actually watch the cut scenes and I enjoy the combat way more than I expected.

    Hogwards Legacy reminds me the movie Avatar; people got crazy for a mediochore Pocahontas story, left me in disbelief. Same is true for Hogwards Legacy. Hogwards castle is beautifully crafted, live pictures everywhere and ... that's it. Dull, low quality npc's in high contrast with castle. They have zero interraction; hit them, try to talk them, cast some spell on them... nothing. FightingHogwards Legacy reminds me the movie Avatar; people got crazy for a mediochore Pocahontas story, left me in disbelief. Same is true for Hogwards Legacy. They have zero interraction; hit them, try to talk them, cast some spell on them... nothing. Fighting reminds me old GoW games, where you need to push right button in right time, at least for defence, which is key for survival. Game is by no means an RPG. RPG is a very cheap term nowadays, placing a so called skill tree is all that you need to claim you are an RPG. Game tried a skill tree, an armor system, but made a very poor job. Quests; I am like in the middle of main story, nothing impressing. Neither the story, nor the cutscenes are good. And for God's sake, this game is not open world! Again, like RPG, moving in the map - still limited in some ways - is not an open world. And much praised puzzles! What are the meaning of them? Nothing behind them or no sense of them. A bunch of fillers trown around. And I cannot believe I pre ordered this game!… Expand

Boring side quests, repetitive fighting, shallow lore, poor interface to ps5, you will get tired with the gameplay. But the worst thing was you only can see the final credits if you get some level. When you press the color coded button, the game will speed up and snap to your character being attacked and dodging/shielding it. The reason for this I can only assume is because single target lock-on as a game mechanic is incredibly broken and the devs needed a stopgap to solve for this. Imagine that the enemies attacked you with anywhere near the same responsiveness you can. Imagine it. The game would be unplayable. This is why enemies can only attack you one at a time and in dreadfully slow pacing.

    The story is mediocre as well. JK Rowling isn't writing for this game and so obviously they needed to set the setting back 100 years because they're not legally allowed to interfere with the lore and backstories of any established characters. Seriously--the game ends with a monologue about how they'll sweep the conflict under the rug until they can figure out a way to deal with it. There's no reconciling the species wide rights conflicts that are brought up. It just ends.

    lastly, the loot system is so godawful. I can't belive that wizards, even thematically, aren't allowed to larger inventories. It really is just serviceable checklists of RPG and Open world game design in that aspect.

    Gamebreaking performance issues exist. IF YOU DO PLAY THIS GAME, GET IT ON PLAYSTATION. Seriously, the game will actually delete your saves or otherwise crash if you fly your broom too high. It's incredible that someone can pay 70 dollars for early access and then be gimped into waiting a week longer just because the game is so poorly optimized.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is such a great game! I have gotten the platinum, memorized every hall in the massive, sprawling, and graphically superb Hogwarts castle! And just started again, last time I was in Hufflepuff, this time I'm going for Ravenclaw. Oh also, definitely complete Sebastian Sallows quest line, (Avada Kedavra is awesome)! The world is massive and jam-packed with interesting side quests, the recreation of Hogsmeade is also stunning. This is my definitive Harry Potter game! The broom mechanics feel fluid and fun, so do the Hippogriffs, Thestrals, (if you bought the deluxe edition), and the Graphorn. Rankrok is intimidating, the story is not anything special but it holds up and is still quite decent. The room of requirement is awesome, and I love the fantastical beasts that you can groom and basically liberate after you "rescue" them. Hogwarts has so many secrets and recreated places too, at first it may seem overwhelming! But in a good way! The first secret place I found was the kitchens after you tickle the pear and that is when I told myself I loved this game! The field guide pages are not very annoying either, surprisingly neither are the Merlin trials! In total this game is fun, fluid, nostalgic, and quite graphically impressive.     I have to say that when this game was first announced; I was not really interested, even though I watched the movies growing up, but thankfully that changed pretty quickly when I saw some of the gameplay back in January, and thank God I did because I loved this game from start to finish. It has beautiful graphics, a good story, fun and engaging gameplay, and multiple side activities.     This game was a big surprise for me. I've never been a big fan of Harry Potter but I saw how fast this was selling so I thought I would give it a shot and I have to say this game is so much fun. The combat is super satisfying and the story is epic in scale oooooh its so good BUY THIS GAME!!!

    The game is stunning visually but there was a few things that I can pick out that I didn't really like.

    Firstly, the visual bugs and crashing. There are many visual bugs, some quite funny and some not. Usually a pain regardless to deal with. The crashing for myself has been resolved since the update. Second, the combat. The system is entirely too basic. When on level ground, spells I am firing at the enemy should not be hitting the floor before making contact with the enemy but it does. Enemies frequently get caught in foilage, bushes, doors, anything they can to make things harder for me.. My summary of the combat is that even a casual gamer could No-Hit-Run this game if they focused. it is actually that easy. Spell, spell, spell, yellow warning, block, spell, spell, red warning, dodge. You see how simple that is? Only people who will struggle are those that can't stop themselves from mashing the attack button which will stop their block or dodge. Incredibly easy.

    Next we have the missions. I was quite happy with the amount of missions we received but I do wish that the Main story and the Side Quests involving Sebastian, Natty and others were longer. They were way to short for my liking. Even more so the main story. It was really barebones, really basic, could have done a lot better imo. Ominus definitely should have had an arc too.

    Lastly, this is for those that want to 100% Completion their game. I genuinely feel that around 70% of your time on this game is exploring and collecting crap. It's tiring but easy.

    All in all I see this game being praised and people wanting it to be GotY. I question those people. This was a fun game, but it's nothing to brag about. There's nothing ground breaking, challenging or anything. Just very powerful nostalgia and simple fun.    … Expand

    Molto divertente giocarlo, il gameplay é ben fatto e non annoia mai. La storia forse è il punto debole, non essendoci scelte o bivi che la possano modificare in alcun modo. Sembrano quasi piú interessanti le trame secondarie che quella principale. Grafica ottima su play5. Un ottimo gioco che con qualche accortezza in più e una componente ruolistica e morale sarebbe stato ancora meglio.

    Bon jeu! J'ai eu énormément de plaisir lors de mon aventure à Poudlard et ses environs. La narration est excellente et l'exploration également. Cependant, le rythme de l'aventure n'est pas constant ce qui à eu comme effet de mon coté et me faire perdre mon intérêt environ au 3e quart de l'aventure. Je souhaite une suite à cette histoire!

    Ever since year 8 and being forced to read Harry Potter 1 and watch the first movie for english class I have been a fan of the series. I had (very) low hopes for this game all the way up until I played it for myself. They managed to nail the feel and atmosphere of the world in this game. Not only that, they have made it so enjoyable to play that even non-harry potter fans have come to tryEver since year 8 and being forced to read Harry Potter 1 and watch the first movie for english class I have been a fan of the series.     The classes aren't so bad if they broke it up with some action, but this game has waaaay too much dialogue without action. I had to Google the last boss which looks good because I cannot continue to do the same task for so many more hours to get there.

    There's are so many opportunity to introduce interesting fights in the game but the devs just end it with no action. Horrible.

    Combat is decent but kinda slow, problem is you never get to use it. The open world has basically 2 enemies. Some dog thing that dies instantly from any spell and the soldier guys. I vendored all my gear that I found to try to get the spells because the game wants me to do annoying tasks to get the spells. You don't need the gear because you can kill the enemies 10 lvls above you.

    Mid game is VERY slow and actionless. Just dialogue, dialogue, dialogue... And from side characters.    … Expand

    Very enjoyable game. the climate of the books and movies is definitely here and the combat and all the spells are very fluid and very satisfying. Sadly the story is one of the things that i will forget very soon with expectations of 2 quests. another complain is that this game could be much much more than it is right now. still i recommend to every fan of potter and any magical worlds

    Look, I’m a big harry potter fan. With that in mind, I can say that this is the best game I have ever played. Even if you are not a HP fan, this game deserves your attention. Beautiful open world, great story and an amazing combat. For me this is a blend of an almost perfect franchise and an almost perfect game. Give it a try.

    The world looks great and the combat feels better than I expected.

    Hogwarts does seem to have a lack of NPCs on PS5 unfortunately, which makes it feel a bit empty.

    Not being particularly a fan of Harry Potter, I was suspicious to see how it was possible to adapt this adventure in video games.
    I must say that Hogwarts Legacy enchanted me with its captivating scenario, its pleasant gameplay (even if we can say that we spam a lot). The lifespan remains correct and the side quests remain quite interesting.    Hogwarts Legacy surprised me enormously.
    Not being particularly a fan of Harry Potter, I was suspicious to see how it was possible to adapt this adventure in video games.

    The universe was very well transcribed.

    On the other hand, a little disappointed with the world map. It is not easy to use and is not intuitive enough.
    This game is a success and I highly recommend playing it. You will not be disappointed.

    É apenas mais um jogo de RPG, não tem nada que inova! O que o torna diferente é Hogwarts, que é muito bem detalhado. Entretanto, não espere uma história que vá te prender.

    Maybe fun for the die hard Harry Potter fan. But for anyone else it’s a very basic open world sandbox that has been done much better 100 times.

    Hogwarts Legacy has a great character design and could have had a great story too but the story is not so strong. the gameplay feels great and exploration is so entertaining. visually its great and Hogwarts castle is so detailed.

    Hogwarts Legacy is definitely a beautiful-looking game that doesn't have a groundbreaking story, but does have a beautiful world, a fun combat system, broomstick flying, and of course an incredible amount of side quests and missions. [Issue#325]

    It's been a decade since we've had a full Potterverse game, but the wait has been well worth it. Hogwarts Legacy gets just about everything right, with its involving storyline and myriad of main and side quests. Perhaps its finest feature though is Hogwarts itself, providing as much joy in just exploring the halls as performing set tasks. We doubt a single Harry Potter fan will be disappointed. We certainly weren't.
