    Great game. I waited game about Hogwarts for so long! And it satisfied all my expectations! Simply my game of the year. I’m playing on ps5. No FPS drops, no game crushes, no bugs! This game just flawless!

    I am blown away by this game. It's not only the best game in the Harry Potter universe, it's a wonderful open-world game that even non-fans will have a great time with. The castle and the rest of the world are gorgeous, filled with secrets and magic, everything is constantly moving and there's always something to see or do. The combat is super fun, quick and responsive, looks and feelsI am blown away by this game. Some of the puzzles are great as well, the music is fantastic and flying on your broom or mount is almost therapeutic.

    It's not perfect, but I think there are no perfect games. The gear system is not good at all, some of the side quests are kind of dull but you don't have to do them unlike the recent Assassin's Creed games, so I would have given this game a 9/10. But Avalanche deserve nothing less than a 10 here for this achievement. This surely wasn't easy given their lack of experience with such games and the awful discourse around this proejct, including the boycott threats. But they've given everything they had, poured so much love into this, and somehow they exceeded the extremely high expectations fans had. This is truly a gaming miracle.

    JK Rowling is a horrible person, but the wizarding world is not hers alone anymore. It's the music of John Williams, the art design of Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima, the actors from the movies, and now to this mostly-amazing list join the people from Avalanche Software.     Solid game, fun combat, good exploration, good graphics, and does a good job covering the source material. Suffers a bit from open world repetitive tasks/side missions but they are still creative enough and i enjoyed them but could be a negative for some. Very hopeful for a sequel.

    I love this game so much. It is not just a great Potter game, it is a great game period. I rarely play games twice, but I’m already on my second play through.

    What an incredible achievement for Avalanche Software’s first AAA RPG. i thoroughly enjoyed my 50+ hours with the game. Can’t wait for the inevitable sequel.

    The only thing holding this back from being a 10 for me was the lack of enemy variety as well as feeling almost too powerful even after bumping the difficulty up to hard. I would have also loved some raids (multiplayer) that awarded special gear only attainable from those challenges. Other than these few things, I'm over 30 hours in and have loved every second of the game.     If you're not a Harry Potter fan the game isn't all that great. Low enemy variety, boring side-quests, 95% of which are just fetch quests, no random encounters that make the world feel lived in, way too many collectables, uninspiring puzzles (Merlin trial's are a pitiful excuse for puzzles). Main story is very contrived, you're supposed to care for a wizarding world your characterIf you're not a Harry Potter fan the game isn't all that great. No meaningful choice to be made as to whether you want to be good or bad, you're always going to be a mass murderer but hailed as a savior, classic ludonarrative dissonance. But I do admit running around in the world you saw in the movies all those years ago has something magical about it. But the game itself is a poor excuse for an RPG when compared to games with compelling stories like witcher 3, New Vegas etc.

    Mi piace moltissimo il gioco, bella grafica, ambientazioni fantastiche. Qualche bug, sono poche le interazioni con gli altri npc, poca componente gdr/rpg, manca sistema di valutazione del comportamento.

Overall, the game as a whole is great; the graphics are amazing, the combat, the story, the side quests, the world itself was big and exciting, lots of customizations with your outfits and the room of requirement, etc. I could wander the halls of Hogwarts for hours and find new stuff every time. You can tell this game was made with purely the intention to give the Harry Potter fans a game out of the image they had in their head while reading the books. This game is great. I'm not a Potterhead because I didn't read the books I just watched the movies several times but I love Harry Potter and I've been waiting for this game for a long time. The game is great. I was disappointed to find out that quidditch is not there or that if the house chooses me as a Slytherin I cannot speak Párcel. But the game is very addictive and cool.     Really sad to see how fans will just eat anything up as long as it's their favorite franchise and then defend it till they die my question is don't you guys feel you deserve better ? This game is nothing but mediocre just development team playing with people's emotions and the sad reality is it works everytime

    I wanted to wait until I'd got pretty much all the game done, but man this game is huge! What can i say, Hogwarts Legacy is phenomenal! yes, there are a couple of minor technical issues (lighting problems in performance mode and a very lacking VRR mode) i'm sure these issues will be fixed in short time, and yes there are a couple of open world tropes but even those are just fun to do. The gameplay is so varied and satisfying that no task ever gets boring. The combat is perfectly balanced and incredibly well designed, the broom and mount traversal is fantastic, the scenery and world design is stunning, the characters are great and all voice acted very well and all the side quests are really fun, Not to mention the main story, which is very engrossing and well written. Then you have the room of requirement that is almost a game in itself. I actually found myself laughing out loud and saying '"no way!" everytime something new occured in the room. I could go on gushing about all the little details and secrets (and there are hundreds!) but I'd have to write a book! Basically Hogwarts Legacy has succeeded in spectacular fashion, where most other open world games fail. The Horizon games are fun, but the writing and characters are dull and forgettable AC Valhalla had a great story and characters, but much of the gameplay was very repetitive etc etc. Hogwarts Legacy is up there with the best in the genre: Red Dead 2, GTA 5, Ghost Of Tsushima. For fans of truly great games this is a MUST play. For fans of great games who are also big Harry Potter fans...well, you'll struggle to put the controller down!… Expand

    It's an amazing game that brings great storyline and the world of Hogwarts right to your TV. The gameplay is somehow excellent for both beginners and advanced players. It has so much depth and details that you can spend hours just walking around admiring everything. Cannot wait for the sequel with quidditch!

    The amount of bugs is just enormous. Never stopping vibration, sometimes it just fails to switch between targets or even when target is chosen it shoots barrel into the wall. The amount of chaos in fighting system is just crazy, shield that you need to cast and when you do you cannot do anything else. The game is just crazy and I am hardcore gamer. Hate it to the guts.

    It gives you an authentic "Your Hogwarts Journey" feel. Even fetch quests are fun because of the seamless integration into the Harry Potter Universe. There will never be a game that comes closer to capturing this kind of experience again! Buy it now; you won't regret it!

    Currently the game is riddled with bugs and sadly some of them completely debilitate your ability to get all the achievements. Many require hard resets or re-doing quests multiple times. I encountered multiple instances of falling through the world, being stuck in walls and generally think the game needed 3 more months of just bug fixing. A few collectibles can be obtained without registering, there is also a side quest that is impossible to complete if you explored before receiving it. No fix yet despite 3 updates.

    The story is laughable at best and vomit inducing at its worst. It seemed like it was being played for laughs but would then turn around and act serious which did not do it any favors.

    The world is very rich and lively with lots of little things to appreciate, but that does not make a game.

    The gameplay is easy but enjoyable, on the absolute hardest the game has to offer there was not a singular challenging fight. However going into dark arts does feel pretty good.

    The game does get my title of "Worst loot system ever". Making you hold a button for 1 second to sell gear, while limiting your inventory to an insanely low capacity is baffling. I can only assume they were aiming for the gear system to feel tedious and unrewarding and they knocked it out of the park. The gear system of this game should be shown to anyone attempting to develop an RPG as an example of what you should never do. Gear boils down to 1 stat per item and it gets bigger with higher levels and better quality. No variety of any kind. 20 pieces is your max starting limit which will fill up in about 5 minutes of playing. you have to spend 1 second per piece selling or destroying. I even now am going to lower my score for this game again because I despise this loot system with every fiber of my being.

    The best thing the game has going for it is its music score which is 10/10.

    Calling this game a masterpiece is an insult to video games as a whole. The game wholeheartedly deserved its 5/10. The joke of a story does not drive you through the bland world and tedious/repetitive gameplay. The game tried to be many things but didn't put enough effort into any aspect to really make it stand out as something memorable.

    And I actually completed the game before writing the review unlike 99% of people apparently.    … Expand

    Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter game I’ve been dreaming of since I was a teenager. I grew up alongside the Harry Potter novels and devoured them all, and I spent the time between book releases reading and writing fanfiction set in the Wizarding World.

    First day playing hogwarts legacy and I have to say I am very, very impressed. Any Harry Potter fan would love a game where you get to explore hogwarts and this delivers in a massive way. You would usually worry about such an anticipated game coming out and being a flop, however I believe we have an early contenter for game of the year. Growing up with the Harry Potter series, I felt like Hogwarts was basically my second home, and I played most of the games from the universe but this one... It's outstanding! I’m 45 hours in only just finished the story and it was amazing i wish I could experience it for the first time all over again.     This is an amazing game for all HP fans! Hogwarts has been recreated with love, overall the open world feels very detailed and magical. Different game mechanics and activities are just what you always wanted to do reading books/watching films. Music is amazing and helps immerse in Hogwarts, voice acting is very good, too.     Work with DualSense is really impressive (immersive), casting spells and riding a broom are my favourites, but I have been only 25 hours of pure fun and slow exploring.
    I rated this 9, because obviously there are some problems in release version, but which can be easily fixed by developers: -impossibility to sleep and very weird skip time mechanics (not immersive because of many reasons)
    - the biggest issue for me which does not allow to completely immersive in this Wizarding World - empty dormitories during nighttime, like all the students are suddenly gone (this is really cringe). All rooms which should be habitant are empty including professors. I understand this is pure technical complexity to add this sleep course, but that is a downside for me to fully immerse into this story and gameplay - Outdated dialogue mechanics, lack of dialogue choices. It’s really strange to see characters entering dialogues in same way as in Mass Effect or Skyrim (this can’t be fixed I’m afraid and we’ll have to live with this). Let's be fair - many dialogues are super-simple, side quests are quite boring, BUT it doesn't really matter in this particular game.
    - different glitches with animals / npc, but that’s ok with me really, it happens everywhere, fixable with patches
    - most of the side quests are really weak, it’s a shame :( BUT, it’s fixable with additional content at some point and of course in amazing sequel we await. Lore is amazing itself and I really believe you will come up with brilliant new content, whether it be DLC or sequel.
    - another thing - why can’t you sit on a chair/bench in Hogwarts, just listen to music for example and look around, just watching students and professors do their stuff. You can even create chairs and benches, but you can’t sit on these. - different items you can interact with are cool - but globes are way too many. It's like they are obsessed with geography there. All these things I've mentioned are just purely minor issues which won't allow me to put a 10, which is amazing by itself!
    UPD after 50 hours. I’m giving it a 10 instead of 9 as the emotions I got after randomly revealing some secrets and trying some new mechanics made me absolutely happy like a Hogwarts fifth-grader. It’s unique    … Expand

    Purchased after hearing how this game was making everyone angry. I wasn't going to buy before lol. So far got about 6 hours in and man it's so much fun. I'm hoping they'll add quidage at some point though maybe as a DLC? I'd like more interactions in the world though, make it so I can levitate anything, talk to more people etc. Only reason I'm giving 9 stars instead of 10.

    This is definitely a game of the year contender. I have never watched the movies until 2 weeks ago so I don't know much about the Harry Potter ecosystem but this game is amazing. Lots of stuff to do.

    I’ve never enjoyed a game this much since elden ring. My childhood fantasy coming to life and it’s more than I could ever dream of. I’ve always wanted to explore the magical castle, I often find myself wandering around and getting lost. The whole experience is just absolutely magical.

    Combat variety is good and feels 'cool' for it being a nerdy wizard game based on a book and move series and the developers did a great job making it feel a lot better than the movies. Exploration is rewarding even if the puzzles aren't very difficult. The rewards you get for exploring are well worth the exploring.     Exploration is rewarding even if the puzzles aren't very difficult. The rewards you get for exploring are well worth the exploring. You get various cosmetics, gear, carrying capacity upgrades, etc.

    Storyline is what you'd expect for this type of world and I never felt like I was disappointed. Side missions also provided enough story to continue.

    Reasons why I didn't give a 10/10:
    Side missions are generally a do the one thing, and you're done. In games like the Witcher 3 (which I gave a 10/10), there are some side missions that evolve into something much bigger and it makes your desire to explore much grander.
    The main character (you), doesn't have a routine group of friends that you adventure with. You do have some quests with other students, but I never felt like there was any kind of real friendship growing.

Could say so much more good about it but I only want to rate the game to balance the 0's by trolls. Definitely best rpg experience I had since witcher 3, the game has so much to offer

    The ability to not play on fullscreen on PC is just strange.

    Not being able to (Sell All or mark selected / sell selected gear) is just annoying.

    Not alot of enemies, which can make it kinda tedious, and waaaaaay to much gear, which then makes it just a numbers fest and the excitment of looting a '' so called legandary'' just does not feel like looting a ''legendary item'' . Would have been nice with less and more specialized gear.

    Running around with 30k gold and nothing to spend it on felt weird.

    But with all that said, if you like fantasy, magic , adventure or RPGs, its definitely worth the money!

    I just managed to finish this game. It’s an amazing game with great graphics. It has an engaging story but there are room for improvements. The castle and the forbidden forest were identical to the movies. Overall, it should be 9.5 out of 10 for me. Definitely recommend this game.

    Not a Harry Potter fan. I have just seen the first movies few days ago, but boy oh boy this game is fun. I love the magic combos you can do and exploring the open worlds is so fascinating and rewarding. Pretty much a complete game. A bit too much chat sometimes and going from point A to point B and some dungeons can get boring but still a great game overall I would give a solid 9.

    Simply a clean game, made with love. Could've been given a tiny bit more freedom, but also good as it is. Hope Quidditch will come in future with a DLC. Combat is pretty good, was thinking it will be raw and unfinished from videos.

    One of the greatest thing made by devs is, you can transfigure them. You were not forced to wear ugly ones cause of their stats.

    I've never been a fan of Harry Potter, but this game is so well done, so immersive and so satisfying that it took me back to my childhood when I first saw the Philosopher's Stone.
    The biggest problem that I see sometimes is that you lose the experience because of so much diversity in one place where it is set in 1890. For that they had to make a sequel to the original story.

    Spells should level up as you use them, with either better cooldowns, more potent effects, increase in damage, etc. being awarded on each subsequent level up. Almost like sign intensity in the Witcher, where a 0% Aard cast barely staggers an enemy, but 200% throws them back several feet and knocks them down. I would love to be able to level up Levioso to the point where it targets multiple enemies at once, can lift larger enemies, lasts longer, and has decreased cooldown.

    Potions, although powerful, are limited. There are only a few potions in the entire game, minus the healing potion and the one that reveals chests for 48 minutes, and the one that makes you invisible for all 4 seconds, the only ones I can think of give you more damage with spells, reduce spell cooldowns, and increases the damage you can take. Which are 3 really good effects. But why isn't there a potion for increasing max HP? Why isn't there a potion for refilling the ancient magic bar? Or a potion that allows you to block the red, usually unblock-able, attacks? There was so much potential to have dozens on potions with unique effects to enhance unique play styles, but instead we get a few basic potions.

    Your house makes no difference. I thought your house would at least provide a passive ability through out the game or something. But it's pretty much irrelevant.

    I guess, my main point is that this game doesn't have potential for many different character builds. You're never playing for the next perk point or trying to reach a higher level so you can finally defeat a certain boss. The RPG mechanics are kind of like, "a babies first rpg", kind of thing.

    It's not all bad.
    Hogwarts is impressive.
    Flying feels good.
    Combat can feel satisfying.
    The room of requirement is probably the best part of the game. Although again, with more potions and more things to make it could have been soooo much better.    … Expand

    No Spoilers here, really fun game. Graphics are great, spell play is fun and just started flying. I have about 12 hours played so far and you totally lose track of time while in game. I like the fact that you can mod your outfits to what you like (as you collect more). I don't get the fuss about this, i have met two gay couples and one trans so far...why are people bent out of shape over this?

Clearly they have overplayed their hand and overestimated their influence. I bought a copy for myself and bought 5 other copies and gifted them to friends. JK Rowling was right.

I have to say this is the best game to be released since GTA 5, it truly feels next gen and most of the characters are well written.     Phenomenal game. Not only is this fan service at its finest. It takes elements from games such as the Witcher, Bully, and Elder Scrolls. If you add in everything that you can do in the Room of requirement then I would be tempted to even say stardew valley. GOTY nominee for sure

    Hogwarts Legacy has a great character design and could have had a great story too but the story is not so strong. the gameplay feels great and exploration is so entertaining. visually its great and Hogwarts castle is so detailed.

    Hogwarts Legacy is definitely a beautiful-looking game that doesn't have a groundbreaking story, but does have a beautiful world, a fun combat system, broomstick flying, and of course an incredible amount of side quests and missions. [Issue#325]

    It's been a decade since we've had a full Potterverse game, but the wait has been well worth it. Hogwarts Legacy gets just about everything right, with its involving storyline and myriad of main and side quests. Perhaps its finest feature though is Hogwarts itself, providing as much joy in just exploring the halls as performing set tasks. We doubt a single Harry Potter fan will be disappointed. We certainly weren't.
