    One of the best open world RPGs of our time. It is up there with the Witcher3. Played 30 hours so far and loving it.

    Great game, great story, great graphics, and you get to explore Hogwarts as a Witch or Wizard, what’s not to like. Only thing I found disappointing was how it didn’t matter what kind of wand I used, they would all perform the same, so wands are just purely for aesthetic purposes in terms of picking of your own wood, core, etc.

    Best Harry Potter game so far. Good graphics, fun mechanics, lots of collectibles in a open world. Disregard the negative reviews, written by grown up MEN trying to boycott the game over stuff unrelated to the game

Sieht aber toll aus und die Spielmechanik ist top einfach ohne storry und wir reden hier von einem Harry Potter Game, mehr storry geht einfach nicht. Wieso lassen sie sich nichts einfallen?     The Harry Potter game I’ve been waiting for. Captures the magic of the books and films perfectly. There are sooo many little details and the story is fun so far too.

    Ignore the negative reviews, they are not based on the game quality, they are simply HP and JK Rowling haters who can’t stand the idea of this being a good game that people are enjoying.

    The amount of detail, the lightning and the textures. Hogwarts legacy is all I asked for since I was 6. The game feels smooth on my end. Maybe some lighting glitches here and then but other that that? It’s a an amazing game. I never imagine the castle being that big. Good job devs

The amount of detail in the game and the graphics are just phenomenal! On top of that the atmosphere with ambience and music is on point. Gameplay wise the game is very good as well. There is a heavy focus on exploration which just feels well done and rewarding with a good mix of puzzles. The combat is very good as well. The beginning obviously is quite basic since you only have a few spells but the further you get in the game with more spells unlocked and with more talents available, the combat just feels very smooth and satisfying. Difficulty is just right for me on normal, at times a bit challenging and at times not so much. The customization of your character is also pretty extensive with a good amount of options to choose from in the beginning and quite a big wardrobe of cosmetics to collect throughout the game. Quests are varied enough for me, they don't feel repetitive and I enjoy doing all the little side things the game has to offer. About the story I can't say much because I'm not super far into it but so far it's fine although nothing groundbreaking here.

Imagine my delight when the PC version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone allowed me explore Hogwarts. Not that I believed that game was better than other games. It wasn't. But I was blown away by the fact that I could explore a miniReview Hogwarts Legacy? Don't mind if I do. This is coming from someone that back in the early 2000's fell completely in love with the Wizarding World. Imagine my delight when the PC version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone allowed me explore Hogwarts. Not that I believed that game was better than other games. It wasn't. But I was blown away by the fact that I could explore a mini version of the Castle and find it's secrets, casting Alohomora on suspicious looking walls only to discover hidden chests. Well, Hogwarts Legacy took me all the way back to those days, only this time it feels like it finally got the love and attention a video game deserves, especially for this IP, full of potential. Put aside minor glitches and weird decisions (no Potions minigame to balance the tediousness of waiting for a potion to brew?), this is The Game that to me does feel like GOTY material, and set in the Wizarding World! The gameplay loop is intriguing, the story top notch, the callbacks are there, the combat is genuinely fun, the environments are majestic, Hogwarts Castle is full of secrets to unravel, the voice acting is wonderful, the cast is multicultural and diverse, is trans friendly, is lgbtq+ friendly all around. As a gay guy, this is a hug for the soul. Finally, the wonderful world created by JK Rowling's wonderful imagination comes to life like never before. Wether you are partaking in one of the many side quest, flying around the map, or watching Peeves playing tricks, this is a game that all Potter fans should definitely play. It blows out of the water every other game that came before. Avalanche studios has placed Portkey Games on the map, IMHO.     The world is wonderful, every inch there's a secret or something interesting to look. Lots of magic everywhere, feels like you're in Harry Potter movie.

    There are a couple of visual glitches but im sure they will patch them out, overall good release

    I'm very impressed so far. The game performs fine, the music is incredible, it feels like I'm playing inside the movies, but a different time period and story, combat is very good but I do wish there was more variety, the world feels huge, memorable characters, graphics are excellent, controls and menus are fine except for spell switching...a bit cumbersome. All in all I think it's one ofI'm very impressed so far. It's just a game, everyone is different, just enjoy it, worry about yourself, and your life would be happier. I don't agree with the author, but it's irrelevant while I play inside a world I loved watching and reading about throughout a long period of my life.    … Expand

    Performance issue make me annoyed because I can walk through the wall and fall to white room before warp to next point in map. I think landscape not good because it’s very dim same shrouded in fog and I don’t like fight motion for wizard shoot magic.

    This game is beyond expectations ! You can feel that devs put so much love and work into it. Every turn you make is full of surprises, I didn't enjoy any other game this much ! The graphics, performance, details and every thing else is adorably well done. I hope the devs will keep releasing more and more content for this game and keep it going for long years.

    Fantastic game, I've played it for 5 hours so far. Hogwarts in the movie is recreated in amazing detail, the moving paintings, moving stairs, and ghosts are all put together fantastically.
    A real open world game, the world is huge, rich in details, and beautiful

    Yet another multiplatform game that holds better frame rate on Series X. IN just a few months: Dead Space, Witcher 3 and now Hogwarts runs better on XBOX. I think it's becoming clear that Series X is by far the better console. The game is okay, but it's kind of repetitive, and I'm shocked with how little there is to do to make it stay interesting.

It's rare that a game brings me into it's world so easily, the last time was probably Witcher 3. The game looks incredible and the music is generally very close to the film score and is very enjoyable. You have to be a fifth year and not a first year because otherwise the game would just be a school years simulator and very similar to the main story from the books but this causes a lot of issues in the story overall.TLDR a very good game with some issues but massively impressive for a tie in game and for a developer without a particularly great reputation.… Expand

This game is your best chanceI have yet to finish this game, may update this review once done. Am in my thirties and grew up on HP, but honestly hadn’t interacted with it in years. A beautiful recreation of Hogwarts, down to the last ornate stone design and animated painting. Brought back many childhood memories of being lost in the books, wishing I could experience that world for myself. This game is your best chance to do so. Creating your student is fun, although I wish there were additional customization options. Graphically, the game looks wonderful. Not the most breathtaking thing I’ve seen once you leave Hogwarts, but it’s more than suitable. The castle itself is where the game truly shines. On multiple occasions, I noticed myself slowly walking through the well detailed halls trying to catch every subtle addition. The developers included references and objects I hadn’t remembered in over twenty years, and they clearly dedicated themselves to recreating the atmosphere of Hogwarts. Graphical glitches have been very minimal, I had only one occasion where something really messed up in a cutscene and it pulled me out of the game. Gameplay is solid, I love the easy and quick way you can switch between spell selections. Casting spells is snappy and the feedback is great. Doesn’t feel at all like some weird magical first person shooter, thank goodness. Fast travel is relatively easy, although sometimes you’ve really got to do some running in the countryside to get someplace. I am one of those people who believes there is no 10/10 game, and this game does have some things missing that I would’ve loved to see. There are relationship quests and side quests, but 98% of fellow students are just there to walk around and repeat dialogue. It would’ve been great for more classmate interaction, say inviting somebody to go to Hogsmeade on a whim. Often I’d finish quests hoping to get to play the resulting activity, only for it to not be an option. Find all of a students gobstones and want to play a game? Sadly, not an option. No romance either, which I guess would be a little iffy due to you being 17 in the game, but at least some nights out at Hogsmeade or spending time with someone in a relationship setting would’ve been fun. I’m sure it could’ve been pulled off without being creepy. I have not played all the way through, and I understand they wanted to make the main quest seem urgent, but I was also hoping to have more of a student life. I’d love to attend more classes, and have it say add up to doing well on exams. Dedicating time to study or inviting a friend to study with you. If you spent all your time exploring and completely neglected studying, your grades would slip and your house would lose points. It’s also weird to be able to freely wander around the castle at night, considering students were confined to their dorms and punished if they were caught being out. Missed opportunity for stealth. Again, maybe these will be added later in DLC or I just missed them. But no Quidditch? That’s a sin. No Goblet of Fire or other tournaments? No feasting in the Great Hall with your housemates? Can’t believe those weren’t included. So, final verdict, should you purchase this game? If you know at least a decent amount about this series and want to relive some memories and get those nostalgia feels, absolutely. It’s great getting to be 7 years old again, and stepping away from the not so magical real world. Every game has flaws, and some things are really lacking and missing, but overall you’d be doing yourself a disservice by not giving it a shot.… Expand

From the jump the story starts with a bang, albeit without much back story given at all. Our player character is integral to the current happenings of the wizarding world. Which feels really reallyAs a life long Harry Potter fan, and a obsessive detail oriented viewer and reader, I can without a doubt say Hogwarts Legacy is a true love letter to the series ripe with fan service galore.     I didn’t think it would be possible to recreate the magic of Harry Potter 1) without JKR 2) in a video game, but I’m so pleasantly surprised. If you’re a fan of HP, play it right now. If you like open world RPGs, play it at some point for sure.

    The sheer detail put into this game is incredible, it's pretty much a perfect experience for any fan and a great open world game for anybody who enjoys that sort of game, an easy recommend and an absolute blast to play, to the devs thank you so much

    An astonishing accomplishment. The game manages to embody the feeling of the world of Harry Potter and do it in a way that feels distinct from the world we have already seen. The story is interesting and has enough to it that it keeps you engaged and there is enough to do that you can never claim to be bored and best of all, very little repetition of activities.

    The plot is interesting and well constructed. The side missions are less varied, there are some successful ones, but the majority is collect it or bring it or kill it. but!!! The world and its exploration is so interesting that it doesn't bother you and you enjoy doing it. The battle system is certainly varied and interesting. Not boring and challenging.
    The game is not without problems, there are bugs and glitches and it seems that a lot of people have problems running the game smoothly.

    I'm glad all the SJWs brought this game to my attention. I didn't even know it was going to exist. Easily one of the best games I have played in the last 5 years. Combat is extremely smooth. There is ton to do. Immersive and faithful. It's not another game that's just waxing names for what they're worth.

    What can i say? I was level 14 long before i progressed in the story and why is that? THERE IS STUFF TO DO EVERYWHERE! I was exploring, looting, unlocking, finding hidden rooms, i was just lost in this huge world. And when you step outside Hogwarts and you find out that the huge castle is only the begining, your in for a ride. This has everything i ever wanted from a Harry Potter game,What can i say? I was level 14 long before i progressed in the story and why is that? THERE IS STUFF TO DO EVERYWHERE! I was exploring, looting, unlocking, finding hidden rooms, i was just lost in this huge world. And when you step outside Hogwarts and you find out that the huge castle is only the begining, your in for a ride. This has everything i ever wanted from a Harry Potter game, great story, magical world, awesome graphics, fun characthers, action, great combat with many variations in spells, and broom flying!     A great, breathing and beautiful game. A I would like to had more characters customizable abilities.
    Hogwarts is huge and you can find some attractions in every corner.
    The lack of Photography mode and quidditch is also kind of upsetting.
    Still this game take the wizrading world another step forward with interesting combat system and a lot to explore!

    The world created in this game is amazing, full with details and references of the source material. It truly feels magical just wondering around Hogwarts and its grounds. It is definitely a great game to play specially if you are a Harry Potter fan. The only issue I have experienced is with its performance, something a suppose will be fixed with future updates.

You can only interact with pre-selected objects and a narrow selection NPCs, that gives you extremely boring chores. Calling them 'side quests' is a huge overstatement. The story is generic, unoriginal and shallow in every way. The best part is the combat system and world design, but Hogwarts is over-interpreted and feels like Hogwarts on steroids, it's over-sized, bulky and americanized. The gameplay feels orchestrated with low immersiveness, just like an old cartoon where only the highlighted objects on a matte painting are animated. The loot system is especially ridicoulus, with gold chests placed the most ridiculous places; right on the street or directly in front of NPC's and the chest owners, who doesn't mind you robbing all of their galleons. The story is so meager a 10 year old could write a more in-depth narrative. If Avalance Software spent their money on creating depth to this game, instead of bribing youtubers to get unrealistically positive reviews, this would might've become a game worth of a release.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. the game in general is just bad the story is boring and predictable i mean from the very start i could tell that my teacher would die at the end and that rookwood is the one who cursed anne and the whole goblin rebelion being a set up was predictable. The combat is also no better then the story, there is multiple bugs and the performance is near unacceptable the only way i can see anyone giving this game higher then a 6 is if they are a massive harry potter fan and are able to over look all the issues… Expand

    The graphic is really on a high level. A lot of details and you can spend hours just running over the different places and reviewing them. It would be nice to have slight improvements in day timing and waiting, but even with this, there are a lot of things that hold your breath.

    I was never really into Harry Potter but now have about 30 hours in the game and I love everything about it! A fantastic adventure so far! 100% worth a buy!

    Atrocious game, barely runs, full of plot holes and the story makes no sense, glitches everywhere, combat is terrible and there's only like 5 different enemy types, empty world with nothing to do, load screens everywhere, performance issues galore

    Best Harry Potter Game adaptation ever made, and an amazing open world RPG in general. It’s a love letter to fans with an amazingly crafted hogwarts castle and the surrounding Scottish highlands. A must play for anyone that likes Harry Potter and open world RPGs, this is easily my GOTY.

    Hogwarts Legacy is the game that I as a Harry Potter fan have always wanted. An expertly realised castle, perfected lore with tons of book references, characters with character, and a so much customisation! I had been confident it would be a great game. THIS is a brilliant game. I love it. Not to mention there have been 0 technical issues for me on the PS5!

    This game is great. The graphics are beautiful, the fightsystem and Gameplay makes a lot of fun and the story is very interesting and mysterious. in my opinion it could be game of the year. Haven't been so immersed in a virtual world for a long time since the Release of World of Warcraft in 2004. Full recommendation =)

    It's been a decade since we've had a full Potterverse game, but the wait has been well worth it. Hogwarts Legacy gets just about everything right, with its involving storyline and myriad of main and side quests. Perhaps its finest feature though is Hogwarts itself, providing as much joy in just exploring the halls as performing set tasks. We doubt a single Harry Potter fan will be disappointed. We certainly weren't.
