As anyone who’s read these reviews will be fully aware, the game has recently received an update that has done nothing to improve the game but reduce the amount of credits awarded from many events, thus pushing the extremely predatory microtransactions. This is also after the game being completely unavailable to play for over thirty hours due to maintenance and the game being online-only. I will update this review to be more positive if positive changes are made to the game - starting with the very least of reverting the recent credits reductions. If you’re on the fence, do not buy this game. Do not spend any money on the game’s microtransactions. Speak with your wallets, let Sony and PD know that this sort of behaviour is unacceptable, and is quite frankly a slap in the face of the playerbase. Expand

Impossible game. Single player with always on-line and event price reduced to buy in-game credit with real money. Is not a free to play game. I pay 99€ for the game... this is the last time for me to belive in poliphony (until Gran Turismo 1).

Game is a pay to play cash grab hidden behind a AAA pricetag. GT7 is a disgrace to the Gran Turismo franchise.

The game is extremely barebones and designed entirely around manipulating you into buying credits. It's an absolute embarrassment to the history of Sony, PlayStation, PD, and Gran Turismo.

Can’t believe a $70 singleplayer game has been filled with such amounts of micro-transactions, and you can’t even play it whenever you want when the server is down……

I bought the 25th Anniversary edition because I was so excited to play a GT game since I skipped the PS3 and PS4 era. I tried to look past the low polygon, low texture environment and background in the tracks. The gameplay was good at first until I got to the license A-8 and I couldn’t get gold thinking I was doing something wrong for 30 minutes I tried until I searched online and it turns out that the automatic update that installed when I first inserted the cd broke the game and made it unplayable. So I waited to play the game until a new update was offered to fix the problem and made the game playable. Three days passed I updated the game and it turns out that I couldn’t play it because the patch could erase your saved data and the servers were down for more then a day and the game couldn’t connect to the service so I couldn’t play my physical version of the game. That sucks that even purchasing a physical copy of the game you’re bound by their policy of always connected just so they can protect their micro transactions and keep tabs on how much you spend. It’s sad that gaming has come to this. I’ve waited so many years to play a GT game specially on the PS5. It’s been a week and a half since I purchased the game I’ve only been able play it a couple of hours since then. What a disappointment in every way. There is so much more I could say to vent out my frustration with Sony, Polyphony and the GT but whatever. It dumb. Expand

Cant play game due to servers crashing because an always online feature is requiered even for single player.Too hard to gain credits to buy super expensive cars trying to force players to expensive microtransaction. All this after paying 70 for the game. You should be ashamed of your selfs. You are disrespecting fans that made you who you are and ruining a perfectly good game.

Horrible experience where the cost of tires equals more than race payout. This game finds new ways to get worse with every update to force microtransactions. A new low for the series and for gaming.

I find it hard to make money in this game. Making it harder to earn credits with cars that cost up to 12. At the end of the day I’m the one playing the game doing the same race. I don’t really care about the other races. There is multiple cars and grinding for one car would take 3 days and maybe 4 if you want to put upgrades on you car. You can’t tell us how to play your game.

    ABSOLUTELY BUTCHERED

This game was okay on release. Not the game we wanted but it could work. Since the update forcing you to play online I have had to return the game. As I can’t now use it when travelling. Even if playing career mode. Has to be online. Plus they are constantly nerfing credit income. Forcing people to use MTX. I will NEVER support pay to win. Especially when I’ve paid

Forced microtransactions and the requirement for online connection even in single player mode undoes all the good aspects about GT7. The greediness of GT7 will be the undoing of Polyphony Digital and Sony

I've played every single gran turismo that came out from the start, since the PS1 days. This is very disappointing and a pathetic move from PD and Sony.

You are required to be online to play single player career mode, and servers go down leaving the game unplayable. PD encouraging money microtransactions and real life purchases for game credits to afford the expensive and rare cars

To buy the most expensive car in GT7 you have to grind the same race 333 times or race the same race for about 18 hours. what a joke. Avoid this game

There are genuinely things I like about this game but I cannot in good faith recommend it to anyone. Between always online, predatory MTX, lack of single player features, and the decision to nerf already weak credit rewards combined with their completely tone-deaf statement, it is clear that Sony has fully subverted the Gran Turismo series for their own gain and it is very sad to see.

They must've realized that too many people were grinding instead of buying overpriced credits so they moved the goalposts by decreasing the payouts for each race to push us to buy credit with real money when a rare car comes on sale. They charged us 100 dollars for the 25 anniversary edition but they treat this game like Fortnite where every single item in the game is for sale and very expensive. Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
