    Yamauchi's policy as the designer of this game is very nonsense. Users want car modeling and behavioral reality, not expensive pricing or billing.
    Yamauchi is, after all, a person who can't make something like a car simulator, and we would never recognize him as a game designer.     Please don't listen to all of the complainers here. GT7 is a proper return to the Gran Turismo numbered series of games. The graphics are beautiful and the weather/time-of-day effects are among the best in the business. All of the traditional activities and car collection is present here including license tests, all of the different series, and tuning.     The micro-transactions are completely optional as everything is earnable with time and effort in the game. With Polyphony Digital setting some expectations for post-launch support with all of the additions to the car lists and tracks in GT Sport, this racing game is well worth the $60 price of entry.    … Expand

    I finished "career" mode, and still can't buy any cool car because i've got no coins. My garage is quite empty too. Where is all the fun? Racing on a cheap ass car in a car sim game is not how i define fun. In fact, this is pure garbage. My first and last experience with GT franchise. Back to Forza.

    Great graphics, awesome playability, very poor car dealer system. Microtransactions are just a money grab. Always online is also a downer. Poor decisions by Sony. Do not buy it.
    Sony also played the reviewers by releasing a version without showing all the details.

    I have played and mastered every Gran Turismo title since the original. Gameplay and visuals are spectacular but its sad to see greed of microtransactions ruin an otherwise beautiful game.

    Blatant cash grab. Pre-ordered this full price game, wish I had not. Microtransactions that allow you to purchase unlimited credits with real money combined with a cap on credits that can be earned in-game are going to kill this title. After launch, the dev's nerf the "highest" paying races into oblivion. Check the warning rates against previous GT titles. This game is dismal. P2W

    This would have been an easy 10/10 if there is no online always bs in place. I really hope Polyphony Digital take this and modify game not to always be online.
    GT7 looks and plays beautifully.

    Played all the GTs since launch, never has the economy and experience been worse.
    Not even a real career mode / campaign to do with the stupidly prices cars.

I wasn't thrilled with how the campaign worked, but the racing and cars were good enough that I was planning to buy my rental copy instead of returning it. Then I logged on after the update on 3/16 and noticed that I could barely afford a few upgrades after running several races.     Really enjoyed it at the start - was def going to attempt a platinum run until they decided they werent making enough money so MICRO TRANSACTIONS was decided, not just a bit but massively increase.
    In addition to this, everyone is overlooking the massive error with the Licence Test tyres - I couldnt complete those tasks at all, for days I struggled. It was their error!!

    This is my first review on here. I have high hope for this game, but Sony failed to deliver as they changed race payout to force you to buy these MARCO transactions. If they don’t change the race payout I’ll kept my 0 rating as I already spent $90 to buy this game.

    With patch 1.08 it got solved but with a nerf. with the already outrageous grind requirement to earn millions for cars. 20million car. Pay 200 dollar or grind 24 hours for 1 car.     After 25 years of GT, you get less tracks, less cars and nothing new except for car collection. The economy is dire, grinding is now not even worth it, the enjoyment has gone…forcing you into micro-transactions to progress. PD says ‘take a look at the longer view’…why? New content has always been notoriously slow to arrive if at all. The original tracks, cars and spirit of GT are left out.

    I have to say... you all need to do a heck alot of goodwill.

I will say that Sony have made an incredible game for the reviewers and gave us that same incredible game just with microtransactions in it, and I think that releasing two different products to reviewers and consumers is unbelievably scummy. seriously.

    Don't worry though, they've really tried their best to shove these MTX down your throat and you can tell with the recent update that has changed payouts for races. I believe it will take at least 3000 laps of the nurburgring to get enough money for a legend car.

    so so depressing. I honesty think this game is something that defines this generation and will continue to so so in the coming years, but with the direction Sony is going with it, maybe it will be defining in all the wrong ways.

    I also think that although the DRM doesn't make this a bad game, I don't see the need for it AT ALL.    … Expand

    Scam Turismo. The game is beautiful and the physics are awesome. But that is all the game has going for it. Greed has killed this game, some of the shadiest tactics I've seen in a game so far and it's sad because I do enjoy racing in the game. But the grind is disgusting. I should've waited to buy so I could've gave my money to a game that isn't one big money grab. Also, the roulettes are a JOKE.

    First of all I have completed the menu portion and most of the license tests in the game.
    This could be a truly good game if the following are fixed:
    1. Remove always online requirement. Without an internet connection the game cannot be played. 2. Reduce the grind to get credits. I have not bought any car over 450K and only 1 of those.     3. Reduce the microtransaction costs (if #2 is addressed, microtransactions can be removed completely)
    4. Allow the selling of cars earned during the menu events. Previous GT versions allowed this.
    5. Allow the earning of credits during multiplayer events with friends. This can be reduced as I understand it could be exploited, but not earning anything removes the incentive to race with friends.

    My friends and I no longer play this game because of these issues.    … Expand

Even Driveclub had better things than this, but Sony let the franchise die and now is doing the same thing with Gran Turismo. And I want to say this: if you let Sony do this sort of maneuvers, this practices will become a standard in the industry for worse. Duo to the online coercion and update coercion in Single player they can and have adjust prices and micro transactions. Thats the reason why the 1st day reviews much better than later reviews.

Polyphony listen to their fans and are more than likely already working on a fix. The lack of cars and tracks will be addressed with FREE dlc over the next coming years. No more city circuits except for the rather boring Tokyo route, still so many classics missing too. The campaign mode is boring compared to older titles. You have to go to cafe, get new thing to do, go back to cafe, rinse and repeat. Pathetic. They've giving it a nice coat of lacquer and it does look good, not amazing, only the cars really look just about next gen, but overall it's good. Problem is, it runs horribly sometimes and races can be consistently stuttering throughout, others every now and then, ruining any immersion. When GT 5 couldn't hold 60 it had screen tearing, which I'd take over stutters any day. If number 5 was still online, I'd most definitely still be playing that. Have fun shuffle racing with a great community and then kit up some everyday cars and have a laugh. It's all gone and what's left is the empty shell of what once was great.     This gets a 2 out of 10 from me and here is why. The two points represents the driving in this game because it doesn't fall any where short of wonderful. It is simply above par from a gameplay point of view and marvelous in everything it does. However, I am going to recommend that you don't spend any money on this and here is why.

    If you have limited time, you will not be rewarded at all for placing what little time you have as an investment into this game. There is a car scarcity, so they are reflective of real world prices (which at times can be outrageous). So, if you like to collect all the cars it is a hard pass. The campaign is incredibly short, as are the missions, and the license tests. There is a disturbing lack of content in Gran Turismo 7 and it suffers greatly due to this absence. Content, meaning cars, races, campaign, series, and events. This is compounded by all of the single player content that is locked if the servers are offline. The last outage spanned thirty-two hours, shortly after launch, with absolutely no feedback from the developers to the consumers. Inexcusable, really. It is truly a disappointment to write this after almost a decade of waiting for this game to come out, especially after all the gameplay improvements and additions.

    Lastly, I just want to say that I am disappointed in Polyphony Digital. After a long run of very successful games in the series, fan dedication, and support overall for such a classy, innovative, and inspiring racing simulation, that they would be even more predatory in their pursuits. Firstly, they left the store out of the review copies, which would have shown their practices to be predatory, and have a negative impact to the image of the game. With all the events of the past two years in mind, you will spend no less (if you are very very lucky) than eight hundred dollars to buy one PlayStation 5 and a copy of Gran Turismo 7. To add insult to an already agonizing injury, they would like to cut the prizes that you receive for winning races, and entice you into spending more money out of your pocket on microtransactions to buy a digital car in a video game. The greed shown here is astounding, to say the least. Not only that, but I am sure that in the future, you will have to pay for the learning AI. I have seen mention of this, I cannot remember where, but I am sure it is searchable if I had more time right now to find it.

    After purchasing seven main entries and GT Sport, unless there is a turn around from an ethics standpoint, I can not justify buying another game from this developer, or recommend anyone else to for that matter.     This could have been an amazing game if it wasn't for Al the cars being put behind a paywall. Yes you can play the game and gain credits to buy cars, parts etc. however that then becomes an unreasonable grind. Unless you are ready to grind for dozens of hours for cars or don't mind spending real world money for the cars you should steer clear of this game.

    I have been a GT player for 25 years since it GT was released for PS1. Cars price is quite high and the rewards for races are ridiculous in comparison.     On the technical part, the game has lots of details (specially the cars design) but some graphics in the circuits could belong to PS2. Some circuits that returned to the saga (Deep Forest, Trial Mountain…) are simply ruined now due to the new design of the tracks.
    There is a lack of low and middle range cars that I was expecting (Polyphony took the models from GTSport and made no improvements, in a pure copy-paste movement). More Fiat Coupé, more Peugeot 205 Turbo, more Opel Calibra… and less GT Vision that are useless!! Conclusion: Sony slogan was: “this is 4 the players”. I am so disappointed that I’m getting my money back. Let’s see if by touching their pockets they can listen to the players… because the money language is what they understand.    … Expand

    I really enjoyed the game. The bugs and championships with fairly low rewards don't bother me to the point of being angry, I just have to spend a lot more time.

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.
