    The game requires an internet connection in order to play the offline campaign. The servers have been down for more than 24 hours, which means that the 80 euros that us customers spent on the game are worthless.     This is a great game ruined by greed. The "micro" transcations are solely responsible for everything wrong with this game.

    I genuinely feel sorry for the developers. They have built a great game. The execs have come in and made them ruin it. This is a £70 game. It shouldn't have microtranscations. They need to:
    - Remove the micro transactions completely
    - Remove always online requirement
    - Increase race payouts
    - Reduce car prices
    - Better odds for the lottery tickets

    I was so happy to buy and play this game after seeing some positive reviews on YouTube. This was my first gran turismo game I bought when it released and at first I was happy with what I had but then the game ended out of nowhere and I was left with what seemed a very minimal and diverse amount of races, a lot of very difficult challenges to complete on    ***PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BUY!!!***

    I was so happy to buy and play this game after seeing some positive reviews on YouTube. This was my first gran turismo game I bought when it released and at first I was happy with what I had but then the game ended out of nowhere and I was left with what seemed a very minimal and diverse amount of races, a lot of very difficult challenges to complete on controller, & extremely predatory micro transactions. I had absolutely no idea that literally 90% of this game is only playable online so if I don’t have a internet connection, I am only limited to barely 10% of what this game has to offer. This wasn’t stated anywhere in the PlayStation store before I preordered and bought the game. On top of this, after the last update where I found out the majority of the game can only be played online, the people at polyfony digital decided to cut literally EVERY single race that was somewhat efficient in making in game money instead of balancing the lesser paying races. This company did all of this purposefully after every review company had posted a favorable review for them & now they r treating their customers as if they were slaves to earn virtual cars in their game. To polygons digital & Sony: this will be the first and last time I ever buy a game within months of it releasing and it might even be the last time I buy a game from ur store ever because this keeps happening across so many games Sony allows on their store. This is heartbreaking for this to happen in gaming, games were supposed to be a haven and now that’s being manipulated and abused. The past couple releases, battlefield 2042, Babylon’s fall, and gran turismo 7 have really made me not want to play games anymore. Wow.    … Expand

    This is my first review on this site, this is how strongly I am annoyed at this game.
    I bought this game on launch to play. It's a racing game I played as a child and it seemed like a nice nostalgia trip. When I was in highschool I bought a used PS3 just to play this game! That's how much I loved it.
    My first few hours with the game where great. I had a great time, the racing was fun.    This is my first review on this site, this is how strongly I am annoyed at this game.
    I bought this game on launch to play. It's a racing game I played as a child and it seemed like a nice nostalgia trip. When I was in highschool I bought a used PS3 just to play this game! That's how much I loved it.

    My first few hours with the game where great. I had a great time, the racing was fun. The money was a tad grindy but really not bad for what I was needing the money for.

    I took a break due to life for a few days and an update came out. 1.06. "Sweet!" I thought to myself, there might be some new content or at the least bug fixes! I was wrong.

    1.06 broke licensing, the gateway to progressing the game. All rally license tests where swapped from dirt tires to road tires. I spent literally 4 hours trying to pass a test because it seemed ungodly hard (I already got the previous 2 rally tests done without an issue). Watching the example I couldn't do anything close to what they where doing and it was infuriating. Near the end of the 4 hours I said screw it, maybe someone online has something to say about how to do this and I'm just bad? After a quick google search I found the bug and that it was broken.

    So I put the game down and thought to myself, "I'll just wait for it to get patched."
    2 weeks later they release 1.07. "Sweet" I think to myself, they patched the issue that was stopping me from progressing!

    Turns out they also kneecapped the payouts to races. Which up to this point, EVERY TIME you get paid you get to see the "Top up balance" option under your money just reminding you to spend a little cash to progress faster! Which I didn't really mind as I didn't have to grind that hard to progress. And without grind the game wouldn't be as fun. But now you make money sometimes 50% slower than before. That's disgusting.

    TLDR: was a chidlhood fan, if they don't undo their greed I WILL NEVER purchase this game again. Adding to that, I will never purchase a playstation ever again, as this removes any desire I have to own one! And I'll stick to PC gaming. Where at least I can undo game breaking updates. which I've never experienced before this point in my life.

    P.S. If they undo the extra greed they did to payouts I'll give most of the points back. But a game breaking bug that doesn't get patched for weeks after launch is brutal for any game.    … Expand

    Welcome to modern gaming. The customer is a victim. This is the second, and last, game I’ve preordered. I stupidly thought I could trust the GT brand. Lesson learned. I don’t have time to grind so I’m going to walk away from the game until the meta vehicles are established. Then I’ll buy them with the credits I have saved and race them. I’ll enjoy other games until then.

    I payed £70 for a worst version of GT Sport. Less cars, childish menu, boring and very short career mode, confusing race and circuits menu, unplayable online mode. I keep getting disconnected from online daily races just before it starts or just after it finishes. It ruined my SR rating as a result and I was dropped from S to C and I have to race against idiots again. Also it is veryI payed £70 for a worst version of GT Sport.     Things were bad enough on the 'grinding' front but then v1.07... no idea why they are pushing this micro transaction route, it's a too tier tittle for the PlayStation and it's becoming unplayable for the average player. Also the requirement to be online to do single player career is extremely frustrating to say the least. Been a live long GT fan but now feeling really disappointed.

    I will say the graphics are great and the driving experience is fun but the pure philosophy is so bad that I can't recommend this to anyone. I wish I would have waited for user reviews. The need to be connected to the network to play in solo mode is absurd. The need for microtransactions is also absurd. It is financially prohibitive to play this game. Not only are the graphics held back by the ps5, you're forced to deal with the absolutely ridiculous economy set up by the devs. Oh and by the way make sure you're connected to the internet at all times otherwise you can't play our single player game.     -Has no SP without being connected online
    -MTX as a means of progress
    -Short SP experience -Very low race payout
    -Terrible AI
    -No ability to grid start in any mission

But the monitorisation on this particular game, the corporate greed has made it that i will never buy another polyphony game, i am disgusted and outraged. I payed £90 for the 25th anniversary edition and i do not believe i should have to pay anymore soThis is a game i personally have played since gran turismo 1, ive loved this game all the way through, i even loved gran turismo sport.     Honestly, I didn't enjoy the game since I realize that everyday when I open the game is to find the quickest way to earn money, nothing else.
    Thank you Polyphony for ruin one of my favorite game. Now I'm going to check Forza's download progress.

    To unlock everything, you'll need over 300 million credits, which is 2340 hours by your count. If you consider that you grind 50% and do 50% other stuff, you get 4680 hours. That's 6.4 hours a day, 2 years straight. **** that.

    At currently 45K per fish race, I've given up for now on getting another GR.1 car that you can't use yet anyway.     So I wanted to do another 3h 24h endurance race on N24 (8x time compression). I set the whole thing up, weather carefully selected to have lots of rain this time. Selecting a nice mixed grid from my garage, all the highest pp cars I have so far. And then I want to race and see my current car is still the fish rally car. Can't change it I press go race, the game informs me you can't use dirt tires on this track and throws me out, resetting all settings. FFS.

    Shame on you PD, this long time fan has really had it with you right now. Yes I'll still do my race, I was smart enough to take a screenshot of my weather 'program' (random didn't generate a drop of rain last time) so will fill in all the details yet again. But have a nice 1 star review added on top of the rest.

    Shameless micro transactions on top of a terrible in game economy and always online requirements so I couldn't even do a custom endurance race during the down time. Worst GT game yet.    … Expand

    Heavy on the Microtransactions. Very grindy game to get any sort of decent cars. Couple of bugs in sport mode too. I've refunded this and will stick to GT Sport and ACC

    Greedy greedy greedsters. I hope this pay to win game fails. The physics suck, and now you’ll have to grind at least two races to buy a single part. ONE SINGLE PART. They’ve made races worth nothing. Lobby races don’t pay a cent. Roulette tickets give you the worst prize every time. This game sucks. DO NOT BUY IT.

This is beyond ridiculous. We spend good money on a game that is supposed to finished. Not one that wants me to continue to spend money. I'm not doing it.. I will finish the single player game (because, truth be told, the game looks and plays great) but after that, it's done, and I will move to the next game and not look back.     They hid the micro transactions from the reviewers so all the reviews are untrue.
    My advice is stay away from this game because you wil get it cheaper and later on.

    The AI drivers in the game are also useless. Around some tracks you'll overlap them as they are unable to make it around some tricky corners. In the advertising for Gran Turismo 7, Sony heavily promoted the 'Sophy AI' that beat some of the best sim racers in the world. Unfortunately you will not find 'Sophy' in this game and there is no confirmation that it will be included in this instalment in the future.

    The online racing is a step back from GT Sport as the game allows for tuning cars (which conveniently is expensive in the game) meaning those with the best set ups for their cars have a significant advantage. In comparison, the predecessor GT Sport had remarkably balanced online racing.

    I have played and owned every single gran turismo since the very first one. I have 100 percented several of them. Spent many many hours experiencing the tracks races differant cars. Modes and music. I grew up with these games. Me and my step father played them together while I was a child.

Also in the most recent update changes were made to make grinding take even longer, a disgustingly cynical move showcasing the greed currently infecting the gaming industry.

    The event list and career mode are barren to say the least, a fraction of the races that were available even in the particularly underwhelming GT Sport 'career mode', with numerous tracks not selected for a single race, and whole categories of cars (GR.2; GR.1; classic racers; Vision GT cars) not given any races, almost as if the developers forgot they existed despite a Vision GT car being on the box art!

    Engine swaps are in the game... although the caveat being they are only attainable through a lottery ticket system. This system has 6 tiers of ticket, with 1 of 5 prizes available in each ticket. You get one ticket a day.... that's it. You cannot pick your prize, and engine swaps are only available in the top 3 tiers of tickets. This means you only have a 50% chance of even SEEING an engine swap in the draw, and if you do it's only a 20% chance of aquiring one. I cannot fathom how anyone thought this was a good way to give you content.

    GT7 has cemented itself as the worst GT title to date, and potentially has ruined the franchise and reputation of the developers in the process.    … Expand

    The world map is a dumb Idea. They should've added an option for cup view like in previous titles.

    Don't get me started on the microtransactions. PD reduced the payouts for races and forces you to grind more. Adding salt to the wound, there's a credit limit of 20 Mil for earned credits but no limit for purchased credits. You can't even sell dupicate cars! There's also a dumb lootbox system but it's really scuffed compared to sport. High end parts are locked behind the lootbox system and can't be purchased in tuneshops unlike in previous titles. I'd be fine with the roulette system if it was like in gt sport where you can ACTUALLY get cars unlike gt7 where they give you 5000 credits 90% of the time.

    And then there's the always online DRM. I was locked out of the game for over 30 HOURS. I was not even able to use my own cars in the arcade races! Overall, this GT was a massive dissapointment with the reduction of quality motivated by greed. I'll just set up my ps2 and go back to playing GT3.    … Expand

    Bought this on march 16 and was unable to play for 2 days because servers were down.
    Mediocre racing game and every race you just start in last place and slow cars are in front of you and you drive 2 laps. Very boring.
    Mtx are horrible and youll be driving cheap compact cars for a long time.

    Also sony literally hung up on me for asking for a refund. Dont buy this game.
    Loved gt2 and 3.

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
