Best game ever made. This game is by far better than GOW 2018, the story of GOW Ragnarok is probably the best ever made. GOTY without doubt

My biggest gripe with this game is how characters speak, behave and swear like the most normal, distinctly modern people, with their divinity and unique existence as gods being almost completely ignored. Immortal gods are made to deliver some of the strangest, most casual lines like walking into someone's home and saying "Nice place." or complaining about their "moms" and how typical they are. Words like yep, yeah, kinda, sorta, pretty are used just like in the modern day. Odin is just a mafia boss who yells at the dwarves "hey, it's me, your whole economy is speaking to you!", completely ruining the immersion into the game.

Casual writing can have its place to break the tension or as comedic relief, but in Ragnarok the villains, main characters and side characters all engage in this kind of dialogue, making everything feel constantly comedic.

The graphics are gorgeous, the combat remains the same as in the previous game, and it feels like a Marvel AAA casual movie, rather than a videoGAME. A game this focused on dialogue and story leaves ultimately little of value when the writing is given so much importance over the gameplay, and it fails this much to boot.

The one thing great about GOW 2018 was the combat. Somehow they messed that up. Emies who constantly spawn behind you or who spam attacks. So the enemy behind you spams an attack you have to block while the one in front forces you to dodge. And they like to juggle you. Bad game design all around. Story is ok.

God of war Ragnarok is a great game, it’s a perfection of the mechanics seen in God of war (2018), it has new move sets adding the Draupnir spear, besides the segments of Atreus are really great, at first I was not very sure about wether they were going to be good or bad, but it turns out they overcame my expectations, it has awesome new characters and the stories of other characters areGod of war Ragnarok is a great game, it’s a perfection of the mechanics seen in God of war (2018), it has new move sets adding the Draupnir spear, besides the segments of Atreus are really great, at first I was not very sure about wether they were going to be good or bad, but it turns out they overcame my expectations, it has awesome new characters and the stories of other characters are expanded in this game, I started playing it on November 9th and today December 3th I have finished it, I got 40+ hours so I think it’s a very good length for a game, definitively you should play it, it’s a masterpiece. I like GOD OF WAR (2018) i thought it was great, but i wasn't really hyped for a sequel, even the trailers didn't hype me that much, i honestly thought the game was going to be bad. then the reviews came, everyone seemed to love the game so i thought "ok let's buy it" and so i did, i installed the game started it, and man oh man from beginning to the end i had a blast, the combat wasI like GOD OF WAR (2018) i thought it was great, but i wasn't really hyped for a sequel, even the trailers didn't hype me that much, i honestly thought the game was going to be bad. then the reviews came, everyone seemed to love the game so i thought "ok let's buy it" and so i did, i installed the game started it, and man oh man from beginning to the end i had a blast, the combat was badass, the story was awesome, the locations were beautiful, and Kratos is such a great character. I love everything about this game, well almost everything, there are moments in the story where the game slows down immensely even to a point where i was starting to get bored, luckily those moments aren't that often, but when you have to play those moments, you're gonna have a not so great time, at least in my opinion. But still this game is fantastic and i absolutely recommend anyone that has played GOD OF WAR (2018) to play this game you won't regret it. Expand

No es para nada un gran juego y para mí es el peor God of War que se ha hecho nunca.

Hay niveles que están pésimamente diseñados.

God of War Ragnarök fires on all cylinders! Beautiful end to the journey which started with 2018 God of War. I cry. A rare piece of entertainment, we do not get games like this every year. Shout-out to Santa Monica Studio, damn guys!

Although it did everything right from the first game and then more so, there were still some flaws that put the game a bit behind in my opinion. Although it did everything right from the first game and then more so, there were still some flaws that put the game a bit behind in my opinion. Mainly the pacing feels quite off, where some points in the game could have had way more time spent with them and less important points could have had way less time. People complain about the amount of cutscenes which is pretty funny, considering the game really has these cutscenes as rewards and it's not even that many, I think most of us were just killing stuff and leveling up our character just to see what happens next and it was really hard to do all of the side quest before doing the main story because I wanted to know what happened. I think the moral messages the story provides were phenomenal and it sucks people aren't really going to spend the time to understand them. The story was a bit messy and unfocused and the puzzle assistance was annoying, there was also a lot of unanswered questions we still have by the time the game was over with so much setup I felt like there could have been a bit more to it, but besides that the game is perfect in every other way, the characters are memorable and the voice acting is outstanding.

Truly a master piece. The game never gets boring you always have something to focus on. When you travel from point to point the characters tells stories, riddles, and more. Awesome story, character design. One of the best games ever in my opinion. This is a must play.

It's a good game but the puzzle solving and playing as atreus is exhausting and let down.. I feel they seriously didn't need to add the unnecessary puzzles and make it cheap

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ragnarok is considered a suitable and valuable sequel for God of War 2018 In each of its components, progress can be felt compared to the 2018 version, from the gameplay and graphics to the story and narrative and role-playing elements.

It is true what a lot of people say about Ragnarok; it's not an inventive sequel. It can feel a bit too much of the same repeated steps as what we got from 2018. It doesn't wow us as much like before but instead fixes a few things that were inconsistant with the reboot, such as giving us better enemy variety and better boss fights. I also found the story to be more interesting as well. Being able to play as Atreus, albeit only sporatically throughout the story, is another request of mine fulfilled this time around. Ragnarok may not be a groundbreaking sequel, but it is a more fully realized one, in the same sense that God of War II (2007) was to the very original. Expand

The relationship between characters is even more exciting and complicated, with you wanting to know what happens as the emotion is cranked up to 11, even with the occasional "Marvel-esque" style of dialogue. Traversal, while streamlined, can still be cumbersome, but with so much more to do in the game, it only drives you to keep going. Overall this game improves and shows that Santa Monica learned so much from the previous entry, and solidifies a grand journey that caps of this saga beautifully with no quarter. Expand

I can't help but tip my hat to the entire Santa Monica team. The deeper you delve into the game, the more you'll be drawn into the stunning story of a father and son against the backdrop of perhaps history's most horrific war. Throw in some casually endearing humour, great and fluid gameplay, and wrap it all up with an amazing audiovisual experience. [Issue#323]

Thanks to an amazing cast that’s doing an outstanding job, a compelling story told through the eyes of multiple characters, and top-notch combat, this epic and heartfelt journey strikes all the right chord. It’s impossible not to recommend God of War Ragnarok, but just in case you had any doubts, I strongly advise anyone mildly interested in gaming to play Santa Monica Studio’s latest masterpiece.
