The greatest video game story I've ever seen. Absolutely stunning graphics. The only bad thing about this game is that it ended.

So most of this game is cutsence, some of them really cut the mood for me, if I had any advice, just play this on YouTube, don’t waste 70$ for a game movie.

I went in to this has something to simply pass the time and I've finally finished it and this game is probably one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. From the storytelling to the core fighting just seems perfect. My only issue with this game is it could of had far more haptic feedback and adaptive triggers but overall one of the best story driven games you will play this generation Expand

Beautiful game. Great characters and story. Loved exploring the realms. Only negative is that the pacing is quite lacking on a a few occasions but overall an amazing experience.

In God of War 2018 we saw the maturity of Kratos' character, and in God of War Ragnarok, in addition to the evolution of the maturity of Kratos' character, we see the maturation of Atreus

Tries too hard being a Last of Us game than a God of War game. But instead, we get a game where for the majority of the time you walk, travel, ride and other transports and talks. LOTS AND LOTS OF TALKING. There is a place called „Ironwood“ and it‘s the most boring 3 hours in God of War History. Even the Gods are all washed up disappointmentss from what we have heard troughout the tales in 2018. And the only thing worse than their characters are their designs. Gone are the days where Gods were designed to look powerful and threatening, fitting for the stories told about them and are replaced now with „realistic, down to earth depictions“ yay...

And that’s all excluded by the extremely rushed writing of the game. A character that tries to kill you for over 3 years starts siding with you within the first few hours of the game. The actual Ragnarok event only last for at most 1 hour and a newly introduced character gets so little screentime before he sacrifices himself even thou there was more than enough time for him to get to safety too.

God of War is dead and whatever this is isn’t God of War anymore, it’s the MCU‘s version of it with the plan for Santa Monica Studios being to be like Naughty Dog.

God of War Ragnarök is everything you could possibly want from a sequel. I was blown away by the craft - it is exceptional video game production. The story, the characters, the environments, the combat, as well as the performances are all top tier across the board. This is another must-play from Santa Monica Studio.

Es que no entretiene, es pesadísimo, a veces me pregunto si es un juego o realmente parece un trabajo. it's masterpeace , The masterpiece, the wonderful gameplay of Ragnarok, although it is faithful to the 2018 version, but it is an excellent and complete sequel The combat game has improved a lot and the 9 realms of the game are very stunning and even the previous realms are completely different, the sub-stages are attractive, all of them, Ragnarok is really an unremarkable masterpiece

I don't know what it is but I just can't get into Ragnarok after 100%ing it's predecessor. Maybe because at the beginning you are treading the same ground of the first game. The combat is different and I can't explain it. Instead of a badass God of War eviscerating enemies, it feels like you are slowly chipping away at the health of most foes. Often you are fighting multiple foes at once, so when you are chipping away at one enemy another one is always trying to stab you in the back so you need to Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge out of the way every few hits. Makes combat slow and tedious. Doesn't help that the enemies feel like reskins of ones from the original game. I played 10ish hours and lost interest. Maybe I'll try again after some time and see if it get back into it. I might have to go back to God of War and play again to try and see if it's the game or if it's just me that feels different. Until the, my review stands. Expand

This game is a masterpiece. Takes everything that was great from GoW 2018 and fixed the few issues the last game had. The story is, without a doubt, one of the most moving and emotional stories ever told in gaming. And the score is the best in gaming, hands down. Just an absolute masterpiece.

TL;DR: It's good, but not as good, as the first one.

Basically God of War Ragnarok is the same game as GoW (2018). Story is okay, but can be slow/boring sometimes, and I personally expected more epicness from the great scandinavian apocalypse. Combat is mostly the same, meaning it's fun when you're up to 2-3 enemies, but when there are 4-5, you often get screwed by camera and

Combat is mostly the same, meaning it's fun when you're up to 2-3 enemies, but when there are 4-5, you often get screwed by camera and clunky controls. Also is seems Kratos and his son prepared so hard for Ragnarok, that they had lost all the weapons/armors and forgot all skills, sic!.

P.S. Dear Santa Monica Studio, I hate you for these berserker fights!

It is a good game, but it`s so long. I cant understand why this game needs to have 30 hours. It become so boring after 18 hours. There are some mission no sense. It`s so clear that this game was thought to be long not naturally. This game make the same the last of us 2 mistake, it`s too long and get so boring.

I don't know. Technically it is a Superior game. Crazy how polished and detailed it is.
But the gameplay didn't really make a step forward. A few more moves, but that's it. The mechanics are good and work, but could need a little more "impact", "power". I don't feel like a god of war, and yes, he becomes Old, but i don't feel that either.

The story part of atreus early in the game is a sick joke. The son of the god of war in a disney adventure acting like a spoiled kid...no, and way too cringe.

Soundtrack just good Barely any boss fights
And i am sick and tired everyone in this game handling me like i would be an idiot. "You gotta do this..."

God of War: Ragnarok is a masterpiece of modern video game development. The characters and story telling reminded me of experiencing the Lord of The Rings trilogy in theaters. Every emotion was experienced playing this game, the story, the narrative, the characters full of life and the accompanying musical score made me feel like I was back in high school watching LOTR for the first time again.

Ragnaroks gameplay is built off what made it successful in the 2018 adaptation and have expanded meaningful and interesting content to fill the beautiful world they created. I haven't had so much fun doing side missions in a long time, as the game cultivates each of these experiences with additional lore and story. The dialogue between each character and the history about them are further expanded on as you decide to go off the beaten path and explore the rest of the realms.

The combat has been tuned even further providing much more meaningful encounters. However, as perfect as the game has been there were still some annoying timing issues I found dodging certain attacks that felt completely random at times. This is especially prominent in harder difficult fights similar to the Valkrie bosses from 2018. It certainly added frustration but not enough to deter me from this great game.

I could write the 5k character limit on this review but their is no need. This game is a MUST PLAY on any platform, hopefully it will release on PC so PC players can experience this modern day marvel of a game.

I can't help but tip my hat to the entire Santa Monica team. The deeper you delve into the game, the more you'll be drawn into the stunning story of a father and son against the backdrop of perhaps history's most horrific war. Throw in some casually endearing humour, great and fluid gameplay, and wrap it all up with an amazing audiovisual experience. [Issue#323]

Thanks to an amazing cast that’s doing an outstanding job, a compelling story told through the eyes of multiple characters, and top-notch combat, this epic and heartfelt journey strikes all the right chord. It’s impossible not to recommend God of War Ragnarok, but just in case you had any doubts, I strongly advise anyone mildly interested in gaming to play Santa Monica Studio’s latest masterpiece.
