    This Game is a 10 out of 10 for me.

    From the moment the game starts, you're going to feel this sense of Excitement, action, and adventure. this game never disappoints. The story is well made, and the combat feels amazing, what you see in the cut scenes, you can do them in the game while fighting enemies, so there is no disconnect. The Characters are well-written, they almost feel like    This Game is a 10 out of 10 for me.

    This game compelled me to create a metacritic account, because I am overwhelmed how good this gaming experience was overall...

    It is just amazing. The story, the characters, the world, combat system, visuals, UI, presentation and especially the music... are all phenomenal.     But honestly the positive points outweigh this so much.

    Btw I grew up with turn-based games, but this iteration into the action combat system felt really good. The accessibility options made the game enjoyable for my wife as well.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Final Fantasy 16 has completely fulfilled my expectations. The story is captivating and, despite clear Game of Thrones parallels, still deviates well from G.R.R. Martin's influence towards the end of the story. The Eikon fights offer a good change within the gameplay, although the fight against Kupka was much too long. Especially the fight against the final boss was absolutely brilliantly staged.
    The side missions increase in value as the story progresses and are no longer quite as trivial as they were at the beginning. Important: Play the many side missions before the end of the game. They hide a lot of information about the lives of the individual characters, and you'll learn to love them even more.
    If you like DMC5 and Final Fantasy, you will absolutely get your money's worth and love the game. The Final Fantasy mode in NG+ massively increases the replay value.

You will find plenty of haters critizing the game for not being what they want the game to be, grow up, the game is not made for you only, you are not the center of the world.     The focus here is on the story and the big Aikon battles, which are phenomenally done. The story so far is one of the best games I've ever played, it's very dramatic and emotional, the production is just as good. The music by Soken is great. The combat system is well thought out and will not let you get bored until the end of the game.

What a Work of art, best in the series with traditional final fantasy themes reinvented for a modern world all whilst being a medieval fantasy game, it’s combat is similar to DMC with its fast paced hack and slash abilities, the UI is fantastic and clean, the bosses and battles will blow you away and the story is beautiful in more ways than you’d expect from square enix, I will say there’s ALOT of gameplay to expect and if you do play the side quests you’re adding an additional 20+ hours on top do campaign, the cutscenes are worth it, there’s a few complaints but I think everyone’s got tiktok brain rot and can’t focus for longer than 30 seconds, if you liked Witcher 3, DMC and final fantasy 7, you’ll love this I was and still am not over the game, it’s made me feel like I’ve genuinely been a part of the story and most final fantasy games in recent years haven’t given me that feeling, it’s bringing new and old fans alike into the series and with the battles reinvented (summons to eikons) in a glorious epic showdown style, I don’t know how you can’t enjoy this game, you’ll laugh and cry and get angry for the characters, it’s beautiful honestly.… Expand

    nd its the perfect time to make a more hyper fantasy FF game with a solo character. Considering FF7R will have the fantasy and scifi mix with party play for quite some time to come. So im glad 16 is taking this approach.

    I felt like a kid again, the excitement was non stop. I can’t remember the last time I did an all nighter for a game! It has an immaculate put together world with believable and entirely loveable characters. My star, my treasure. Defo in my top FFs of all time, right up there with FFXIV, FFX, FF16, FF12.

    The game does not run as smoothly as you would expect for a new gen game, however, I didn't feel that took away any value when it came to the thrilling gameplay, great plot and AMAZING soundtrack.
    As a side note, if you are a fan of "epic" visuals and soundtrack, you will LOVE this game, no doubts.

    This sequence in the game made me feel more than most modern day movies and shows. A literal child goes through a whole hero's journey in 20ish minutes.

    I've been waiting for a Final Fantasy title like this! This is a true fantasy! Medieval theme is all I wanted! The story is amazing, especially thanks to the wonderful characters! Clive and Jill are wonderful together, yes, but all these amazing supporting characters. There's a ton of them! In my opinion, we don't need another open world game. I like the formula similiar to FFX. Maybe theI've been waiting for a Final Fantasy title like this! This is a true fantasy! Medieval theme is all I wanted! The story is amazing, especially thanks to the wonderful characters! Clive and Jill are wonderful together, yes, but all these amazing supporting characters. There's a ton of them!     Really loved the game, especially the world building.
    All the characters were memorable. Only gripe were that some of the side-quests are boring but the main quest is amazing.

    These same people review bombed FF7Remake and there were the exact same complaints. Don't believe me? Go look up FF7Remake PS4 version user reviews.

    They simply don't like modern FF games and they can't stand the fact that modern FF games like FF7Remake and FF16 have found so many new fans and people praise FF16 as potential GOTY of 2023.    … Expand

    Fantastic game, better than Baldur's Gate 3 in every way imaginable. It has better story, combat, characters, graphics, mechanics and overall worldbuilding is done better. It's a shame that those Baldur's Gate fanboys are the ones who are review bombing FF XVI.

    FF 16 is most obvious GOTY of 2023, outdated games like Baldur's Gate 3 aren't even comparable to greatness that FF 16 is. FF 16 is pretty much on same level of amazingness as FF7 remake, i love both of them.

    Phenomenal game, might be one of the better original games since 2018's RDR2. I would strongly advise everyone to ignore negative reviews, because most of them are fake, those people don't even have PS5 and they have never even tried this game. There's lots of biased people who hate modern FF games, just ignore them.

Combat is very enjoyable, bosses are well designed, main character is just as epic as Cloud, story is great and well written. It became quickly one of my favorite FF games. I might still like FFVII Remake little bit more, but FFXVI is very good game.    … Expand

    Very good game! Sadly Baldur's Gate 3 fanboys are right now review bombing both Tears of the Kingdom and Final Fantasy XVI. I'm not sure why or what is their goal, because Baldur's Gate would never win GOTY anyway, but i guess they just want to show how toxic they are.

    This game absolutely blew me away. I am a long time fan of Final fantasy picking up my first one when I was around 6 years old. I personally am a fan of any gaming style delivered in a good way. Loved the game keep it up square but don't forget about your old audience either.

    Yes, this is true Final Fantasy. For me, it was a lot better than Final Fantasy XV. It has all that is needed to be masterpiece: great characters, breathtaking visuals, beautiful soundtrack, epic boss battles, engaging story, fluid and rewarding combat system, interesting side quests. Everything is top quality in this game, so it deserves 10/10.

Combat is just butter smooth, and you can’t help but feel epic. I went out and bought a copy instantly, surprised how quick those 3hrs of prologue flew by. The main game didn’t disappoint, and what makes this my GoTY is howI admit I haven’t really played FF titles since maybe FFIII, but I’ve tried the demo in a “why not” manner and got completely surprised by how grandiose it was. Combat is just butter smooth, and you can’t help but feel epic. I went out and bought a copy instantly, surprised how quick those 3hrs of prologue flew by. The main game didn’t disappoint, and what makes this my GoTY is how seamlessly it fuses the action with a superb narrative, so many twists and turns and amazing, memorable characters.     Simply the greatest FF of the century, a work of art, a story full of emotions, it's impossible to reach the end without getting emotional.
    It's really a linear story, there's not much room for secondary characters, but the story and soundtrack are impeccable.
    Graphics, gameplay, story, soundtrack, immersion... Impeccable.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Every time I launch the game, I feel like I'm coming home. It's a world where I play as the main character, who is very well written. He's cute, kind, responsible, self-sacrificing, saving others, protecting the weak, and saving many from danger. I adore him and am a fan of him. Besides him, there are many other wonderful characters in the game, such as the …(spoilers spoilers spoilers) …, and other people who help save the world with us.

    I can explore new places, fight monsters, and make new friends. Each character in the game has their own story and motives, and I immerse myself so much in their world that sometimes I forget it's just a game.

    But I know that soon I will have to say goodbye to this world (I've almost finished it, progress 94%). I will miss my favorite characters and places. But I also know that the game will stay with me for life. I will remember it, listen to its music, and relive its events over and over again.

    I just finished playing the game and I am crying. It is a masterpiece, but for me it is not a happy ending, and the ending seems open-ended, I still don't understand if the main character and his brother survived, and what happened to Jill? I would like to know their fate, I would like Clive to return to Jill alive, and for them to go on a journey as Jill wanted. It's so sad. I hope there will be a DLC and we will see their fates, I want Jill and Clive to be together.    … Expand

    Gameplay, story, music, and not another open world game ( I was so fed up after completing Tears of the kingdom which is a great game too). At least give the demo a try, definitely worth it!

FF 16 is true art, very well written story and character, absolutely EPIC boss fights, amazing voice acting, relatable main character, very good music and overall interesting world, solid villains and side characters.     Final fantasy 16 is Ryota Suzuki's magnum opus and shows how good ps5 games can look and feel. The combat is 100% top 3 of all time while the characters are charming and bring heavy emotion to this game and its story. although side quests aren't shown to their true and full potential, they can still offer a great time. Overall, I very much enjoyed my time with ff16 and is my personal GOTY.
