I thought that cyberpunk was very bugged game until playing Dying Light. Story was very boring no depth in it. Side quests were so repetitive. The dialogues are too long and make no sense. The characters didn't even have a single facial expression all looked same at all. Black screens every few seconds in story missions. Weapons cant be repaired for no reason.

I finished whole game without one single shop upgrade cuz of the bug. Parkour was the only good thing in the whole game.

A very good game, the parkour possibilities are very impressive. An interesting story. The lack of Italian dubbing is also a big plus! I recommend it to everyone!

It turned out that Italians have a problem with reading, even in their own language. And the game is great! Bravo Techland. You never fail!

What has happened to the Gaming Development industry? Is this what they call a finished product? Are they proud of this? Did they just make this to make money and forget about it?

Is the game fun? Kind of? As long as you can make fun of it and just follow quests WITH A FRIEND. By yourself? Go play Days Gone or almost any other BETTER open world and/or zombie game.

I also do NOT understand why devs feel the need to add the work f**k into every sentence either. Good writing requires a bigger dictionary.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Day one player of the first game. Waited 7 years for this **** joke. At least one crash every hour, boring unoriginal campaign, unenjoyable boss fights, repetitive combat. I mean come on, the final boss fight of the game, the culmination, featured a 3 tier boss fight, with the boss reusing the same three voicelines every 3 seconds, about a thousand times, non stop. What a **** joke. Expand

Unfortunately this Port was very poorly made, there is no option to hide the hud, whoever has an OLED screen is vulnerable to burn in.
And it also doesn't have dynamic resolution, in performance mode the game is very blurry on an oled c1, looking like a PS3 game.
Total regret buying this game at launch.

First of all: No game deserves a 0-1/10 or 10/10 in my opinion. I love zombie games to death since I played the first RE game on the PSX, and still would not give this game a 10.

First of all: No game deserves a 0-1/10 or 10/10 in my opinion. I love zombie games to death since I played the first RE game on the PSX, and still would not give this game a 10.

With that out of the way, the review in 5 parts:
    - Graphics 6/10: Sure, it's no the last of Us levels of detail, but seeing as this is a open-world sandbox game I can understand why they went that route. Could be more, but the gameplay might forced the design here.
    - Story 7/10: It's cliched, but not bad. It is not completely obvious what's happening, you get a few moments of "show, don't tell" and the story makes at least to effort to portray both factions as grey, instead of good or bad. Also, the two faction route they put in place at least adds replay-value, as do the choices to a limited regard.
    - Characters 7/10: While I can admit that they sometimes are written a bit "dumb", and making your character the center of attention by acting helpless to get you involved is a tad to much, overall the characters are likeable and understandable enough in their actions that you can get behind them without suspending disbelief. Most of the bunch are capable to be mean arses in one cutscene, and later on bring out a dump one-liner that makes you crack a smile. Your character, Aiden, kinda reflects that as well: You can play him as a focused loner or a genuine social and caring guy, and both get presented believable enough to stick with me. Also, another plus: There are not many "pure bad guys" in the story - most of them act for a reason, and you can understand and feel bad for them in the story - even choosing how to react to them doing what they do. Techland at least didn't go down the "we tell you what to think about X"- route, and I am grateful for that.
World design 9/10: This a good open world in my opinion. There are tidbits of survivor stories to be found everywhere, there is something interesting to at nearly every corner, and most of what you see would make sense in a zombie infested world. Villedor looks beautiful and makes climbing the rooftops enjoyable to play and see.
Gameplay 10/10: This is hit or miss for most people, but damn I need to play favourites here; It's broken physics, but traversing the rooftops makes fun, and screwing with enemies with broken tools and weapons makes fun. This is clearly the main focus I got the game for this time around and it does not disappoint. It makes fun to play with a friend and have a laugh about ragdolling enemies from roofs, into spikes or water, grapple them around, watch em explode, etc. Even most of the bugs will likely "only" kill you in a ridiculous manner that makes you have a laughing fit rather than making you angry. Overall, the game is a blast by not taking itself too seriously.

Overall, the game would come out as a 7.8.

I gonna add one more score-point for replay-ability and to since there are way to much 0/10 ratings going around (mostly because of localisation issues), so feel free to read this a 8/10, if you choose.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human is a great game that I definitely recommend. The gameplay is engaging, the story is interesting, and future patches and DLC could easily fix graphics and replayability, taking this game’s rating up to at least 8. Absolutely worth picking up and putting in 100 hours or more.

    DETAILED SCORES:

    Graphics: 6/10
Dying Light 2 has some decent overall graphics. Scenery is detailed and pretty, NPCs are realistic enough for a cross-gen game, and combat effects are decent. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of graphics bugs like shaking items, pop-ins, and clip-throughs on release 1.005
    Gameplay: 9/10
Great, smooth parkour style combat and world traversal. Getting around the city is addictive to the point of distracting and I found myself spending a lot of time just running, jumping, and flying around. Combat can be a tad repetitive if you are not using your different abilities, but just mix it up a bit. Story was interesting and engaging with good voice acting.
    Play factor: 8/10
Easy to just spend hours exploring or side-questing. The main story is long and interesting, but the side stuff can keep you busy for hundreds of hours. Traversing the city is really fun, and I spent hours just running around.
    Sound: 9/10
The soundtrack was really well done. The music fit and enhanced the mood perfectly. The voice acting was pretty good, with Rosario Dawson stealing the show. Sound effects were well implemented, and I encountered very few or no sound bugs that I realized.
    Replayability: 6/10
Dying Light 2 would seriously benefit from a “New Game +” mode. It has really addictive gameplay, but Techland needs to give players a reason to come back for more if they want it to be more than a “one-and-done” game. Beyond mopping up trophies and side-quests in post-game, not much to bring players back.

Note: You DO NOT need to play the first game.

Tl;dr Reviewer recommended! Try this game regardless of if you have played the first one!

The game also leaves you no way to truly max out your character unless your on pc with cheat engine. I really don't see how they are going to make the game better as the story was pretty much trash all interactions are really lame

The plot of the game is pretty silly. Biggest part of main missions boring. Fight with boses, especially revenants, made easy and boring, no attack patterns, no challenge, final boss = worst boss in single player games, I ever seen. 20 minutes of fight with enemy, that have two attack types. NPC Textures have load delays and often I have grey models without textures. NPC Voices have load delays and often I have silent dialogues. Items have little and uncomfortable hitbox, when you want to take it, you must find the little point above it. On PS5, we have uncomfortable PC interface without habitual for console gaming interface, but with cursor. Side missions short and silly, so I don’t want to speak about that. Dark zones, at first, they seem interesting, but on 3-4 try, u understand that they all identical. Gameplay, especially parkour, is good and I have a lot of fun, when run across the city, it’s better and more dynamic then in 1st game. But it’s not save this game. Don’t recommend it for play.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human looks more like a DLC to the first game than a whole new one. This does not mean it is a bad game, but it is not one that you should rush to buy. It looks and feels like you are playing the same Dying Light from years ago, and despite the storytelling being solid and entertaining, it is not enough to justify buying it right now.

Delivering a huge improvement on the first title, but lacking with new features, Dying Light 2 Stay Human is quite fun, brutal, rewarding and a game of exceptional quality when it comes to the open world. Minor issues still exist here, but Techland successfully manages to live up to the hype surrounding the game.

Dying Light 2 ups the ante from the original in almost every way, offering more satisfying parkour, combat and enough jump scares to make you never want to walk in the darkness ever again. A worthy and essential sequel.
