    Really fun game. I've lost hours and hours happily playing with new builds. Combat feel brutal and levelling is fun. There are a few bugs that need ironing which I'm sure will happen in time but after 100s of hours of play time I'm still very much enjoying. The community are a bit annoying and seem to have temper tantrums about ay old thing but you can mostly ignore them.

    This is the ultimate Diablo fantasy. I've played D2, D3, D2 Resurrected and now D4. I can say that D4 is the pinnacle of the experience and I've already added 100's of hours into it. I played the game in my own time and enjoyed the campaign which is very good and also played a bit with friends. Money well spent and definitely one of my Top Games of the past few years. Game is polished,This is the ultimate Diablo fantasy. I've played D2, D3, D2 Resurrected and now D4. I can say that D4 is the pinnacle of the experience and I've already added 100's of hours into it. I played the game in my own time and enjoyed the campaign which is very good and also played a bit with friends. Money well spent and definitely one of my Top Games of the past few years. And yes, I HAVE made it to the endgame, it has its problems (quite a few actually) but it's nothing they can't work out, and they have already addressed most issues.     Fantastic game. The recent patch finally brought in some balance even if its a painful one and still tips the scale to one side. The reduction of levelling xp bonus wasn’t necessary as it removes the option to test out different classes after one of them is high enough level. Also the gold situation is slightly bad.     Just wanted to leave some context for anyone reading: For non arpg casual gamers, its probably a 7 out of 10.. it seems overly complex, and the edge lord content won't add to the experience if you're already floundering around with the mechanics. For hardcore arpg nolifers, see the 5 to zero reviews, they're probably true.     The systems are just right for an approach where everything is a side grade by you increase in power anyway. The progression in everything you do is so satisfying if you're casually around. This is the first arpg i've played where you can say they actually "tried" to tell a story. Thats a new one for me and i like it. The edge lord content keeps you awake in otherwise mindless repetition and offline theorycrafting. Same effect as vermintide. Its really well balanced as well, feels better than modern tv shows that do the same for my tender brain anyway.

    Even the upcoming seasonal battle pass.. is loaded with.. cosmetics! and it seems like most of will be possible just by participation rewards.

    So.. i don't doubt the other scores, but if you land somewhere in the middle to high end of casual.. its like they made the game for us. I wouldn't bother if i didn't think of myself as a gamer causal, or an arpg nolifer, i don't think either demographics are getting served to the high price of entry.    … Expand

    Diablo 4 is overall a great game. Amazing visuals, sound, story and gameplay. It doesn’t offer the depth that something like POE does and the bosses are not as challenging as lost ark , however it makes up for these with the massive world you have to explore and the very fun combat.     After the diablo 3 part, the 4th part is a real refreshment, it was much better than the 3rd part. Finally, it gives back the darker feeling of the diablo 2, the inventory was very well transformed, it can fit a lot more stuff, I also like the new skill tree. The crafting and upgrading were well put together, the graphics are also beautiful, the walkthrough videos and the sounds areAfter the diablo 3 part, the 4th part is a real refreshment, it was much better than the 3rd part.     I'm 40 years old, I've been playing video games since I was a kid. I love Diablo 1 I love Diablo 2. Diablo 4 looks and works great but is weak in the most important aspects. Weak items, no motivation to play. I'm going back to Diablo 2 Resurrected. 3/10

    I play this game for 7 hours in a row and I feel like I just start to play, It’s an amazing RPG game, I strongly recommend this game.

    The world is beautifully crafted, full of things to do and keep you occupied for hours and hours. The music and environment sounds are phenomenal, including the voice acting which is on a very high level.     The graphics and gameplay are absolutely stunning, what makes slashing through hordes of monsters and demons even more enjoyable! On top of that, the variety of character builds will guarantee hundreds (if not thousands) of hours of gameplay with different classes, builds and possibilities.

    I can't find many flaws in the game after playing it for over 60 hours and am seriously looking forward to the future and how Blizzard is going to expand on my adventure with Diablo IV.

    This game is a must! Definitely worth spending your money on whether you're a fan of Diablo series or a newcomer to this demon-slaying craze!    … Expand

    I've put in about 50 hours so far between my two characters. GOTY for me, easily. The combat is deep and engaging, with many different routes for each class, although some specific builds are WAY stronger than others. Side quests are usually good, with a few duds like the usual fetch quests or trailing missions, but some highlights for sure that even add to the main story. Dungeons are awesome, environments look great, enemy designs are great, and while diablo 2 had a better system with scaling, I still enjoy finding the right loot after hitting certain milestones. The devs have also been pretty active in listening to what people want changed, so it's good to see they'll be constantly tuned in and changing what needs to be put in.

    The reason it's not a 10 is because there were a few questionable decisions made for this one as opposed to previous Diablos. Legendary items are no longer tradeable, I play with a few others and it sucks that I can't gift them good aspects or loot that I find. World bosses and legion events feel way too easy at higher levels, and there also isn't enough variety in those two events, although I'm sure they'll add more world bosses. Also having world bosses spawn every 6 hours just feels like it happens way too seldom. The nerfs are also a pain, especially nerfs regarding dungeon exp, but I'm hoping that gets reevaluated as well. The constant live service means there's going to be login issues or disconnection, and I feel like there should have been an option for offline play, though I do admit I like seeing other players, especially when people actually do things to interact with one another but that doesn't happen often as people kind of have to constantly be active.

    Minor complaint here, doesn't really change my opinion too much on the game: I understand the need for microtransactions and battle passes these days so that they can constantly have the income to add more **** but oh my god... The cosmetics are WAAAYYYY too expensive, and don't even look as good as most of the base armors. Either way, this is the game I'm gonna be playing for a long time. Good job blizzard.    … Expand

    Incredible art everywhere you look, the map feels alive.

    I love to find other players every now and then, the scaling is great to play with friends.

    The dungeons are awesome, TRY PLAYING WITH LOTR OST, its epic.

    Such a fun game. Not really sure what the negative reviews are complaining about. The graphics are most definitely not a downgrade. The micro transactions are completely ignorable. Why care what your armor looks like from 30 ft above?

    This is actually a good game. Seasons will change and people will get mad but the critic reviews don't lie. It's still a fantastic game that the majority of people who have probably rated this game low have sunk 100s of hours into in the first 2 months.

    Diablo IV is a very immersive experience. I believe the latest Patch may have affected the experience for many players. But I believe that the company's intention was legitimate. I was playing going straight to the bosses, not worrying too much about my stats as everything was going very fast.

A lot of people are complaining about the server issues, and they *are* bad, but the worst part for me is the always online features. The game can't be paused, so have fun getting murdered if you ever have to answer the door or take a phone call.     I have been loving the game so far, everything from story, to the combat and the world, they are all so amazing, its been a blast going through and exploring everything in the world while getting tons of amazing loot. Been a fan of the Diablo games for years, This game is like a perfect mix of Diablo II and Diablo III. I have been enjoying all the changes to Season 1 as well, overall wouldI have been loving the game so far, everything from story, to the combat and the world, they are all so amazing, its been a blast going through and exploring everything in the world while getting tons of amazing loot.     The game-play is also an 8/10. I love it, despite some bugs and glitches. The map pin route is scuffed, but it doesn't significantly affect the game-play, and those issues can be fixed over time. Enemy scaling is a minor problem, but I have fun trying new talent builds and swapping items to overcome the challenges it poses. On the other hand, PvP is terrible, with high-level players grouping up and killing low-level players. However, I'm confident that this issue will be fixed.

    The endgame is a solid 10/10. In comparison to Diablo 3, where the endgame mainly consists of rifts, grifts, and bounty spam, Diablo 4 offers a much broader range of activities. Whispers, world bosses and events, Helltide, and side quests make the endgame much more interesting. Additionally, the talent tree, paragon system, and gearing are good.

    The system requirements are somewhat high, but considering all the artwork, effects, and other elements, it makes sense that a good system would be needed.

    I have read numerous negative reviews, but the majority of them seem to be filled with baseless anger. The cost of the game is high, but considering we are in 2023 and the inflation rate, the price makes sense to me. As for in-game monetization, people are complaining about cosmetic items being available in the shop. However, these items are purely cosmetic and do not provide any power-ups for players. If you dislike seeing the shop tab, you can simply ignore it. Some reviewers have criticized the endgame as boring. My question is: Have they actually played the game? The endgame offers a wide variety of options for gearing up and leveling, and none of these activities are mandatory. If you don't enjoy engaging in all the activities provided by the endgame, you can simply focus on the "Champion's Demise" dungeon and repeatedly play that.    … Expand

    Great game. Couple issues with connectivity but other than that I've pit in over 100 hours and had no issues. Some fixes are needed (quest tracker, better inventory management) but for a game that's been out a week or two, I'd give it a 10 out of 10. Let's just see if the devs can keep it up!

    I'm thinking myself how unhappy and sad life the gamers are to post here so much angry and hate because a simple update on the game. For me the game is still fun and it's always a pleasure to play. I have finished the game and I'm playning the season 1 now and having a lot of fun. I hope the developers have stomach to do the necessary updates to keep this game live as much as possible.

    Finally a great Diablo again! The balancing and bugfixes are totally okay and necessary. I just can't understand the complaints of all that people crying about it... Just get creative and try out new builds, that's what the game is about.

    The game is gorgeous, best in class for an aRPG, along with its character customisation. Storyline is there to set to tone for an ongoing saga with it being live service (updated game systems every 3 months) and 2 expansions already planned.

    Combat is visceral and meaty, there's a tonne of content for the casual player to enjoy and min max content for the more dedicated player.

    It really is an incredible game with plenty of room to grow, and I went in a bit of a Blizzard cynic.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Great game. Probably the best in the Diablo franchise. Much better than the trash known as Diablo 3. I never give any game a perfect score, but as far as Diablo games go this is as near to perfection as the series has come. I would give it an 8 if not for the required internet connection which drops it 1 point solid 7/10 at least. I haven't played too deep into the campaign yet, but there is enough exploration, side quests, and dungeons to keep you busy for hours. The game rewards exploration and completing side quests/ dungeons. The side quests are my favorite addition as they are all dark and gritty while being compact yet in depth and enjoyable sub stories encapsulated within the main plot. To give an idea about the amount of exploration and reward that can happen here. I have barely completed act 1 and am already level 47, I have just barely started exploring the area to the northwest of the beginning region. This is from doing side quests and optional dungeons. A huge amount of work has gone into world building and emersion. The graphics are beautiful and don't resemble the comic book style of WOW and Diablo 3, which is a huge plus. Alot of the WOW DNA that contaminated Diablo 3 Is gone and replaced with all new mechanics. The leveling up system feels more akin to Diablo 2 than Diablo 3. The game as a whole feels like a sequel to Diablo 2 rather than Diablo 3 and this is also a huge source of brownie points. As a Diablo fan that has been with the series since the first game port on the PS1, this is a must play.

    I see alot of hate for this game saying the patches made it unplayable or something. My response to this is get better. You can respec your class at any time for a cost. My necromancer has made it through the patches unphased ( I'm playing a summoner). Currently enjoying earning the blood steed in an unpopulated server.    … Expand

    Dark gothic atmosphere, an eerie story and great combat. Leveling up and enhancing your build will keep you coming back. This game has a lot to it: a massive open world with countless dungeons-- the content is here. Highly recommended-- I've had a blast returning to hell.

    When the games gets stale start a new Character like the game intended.
    This title is not an MMO where you play one character until you change games.
    I think most reviewers will agree that this games is not about the end game, Don't be in a rush.

Diablo is a long term game, learn, change, adapt learn etc. If this is to hard for uninstall the game and leave it to the people who love Diablo for what it is.     They’ve done well with the cone tent out of the box for a game of this scope. Plenty of room to grow and expand but I love their vision for the game and expect it to keep getting better. Also, clearly the blizzard hate is strong with all the review bombing.

I've played around 50 hours already, have a level 53 solo Necro that I built completely blind and is making for a very fun experience in world tier 3. Character feels extremely powerful and the payoff for optimizing gear reasonable without full on min/maxing, I can see a major difference when I get better gear. Level scaling does not prevent feeling powerful as many complain, I know this is the case because I am using a total off meta minion/shadow build and still blow through content. Story was great, there's always plenty to do and the people complaining about build diversity are just mad that the meta builds are particularly good rather than playing the game for fun. It's a beautiful world, the cosmetics and item power you get just for playing the game are satisfying and will work toward your build. Overall a very well made world with plenty to do for a somewhat casual player. Excited to see what updates and expansions will bring to the game.… Expand

    Very fun game, very well balanced, the last update 1.1 brought better balance and is more fair for all players. Cleaning up users abusing game exploits, rush dungeon or piggybacking. The part of the community that is angry are players who want to have maximum damage, never die to the point of being god mode from day 1. The game now implements more challenging gameplay and that is always welcome.

    The game does have some problems, but it’s awesome. I got to 100 with a rogue and high 80s with a barb. I’m playing necro for season 1 and I’m still having a good time. I recommend it.

    Awesome game. Great visuals, engaging gameplay and lots of content to keep you busy. I have only ran into 1 bug, the quest furys fate. Launch was super smooth especially considering its a AAA game with a ginormous player base. Can't recommend enough!! 10/10 would purchase again!

    Patch 1.1 is a great example of game design and how it should be done! it's incredible, I'm loving everything about Season 1 so far. Hit Level 100 Across 4 Characters on the Eternal Realm, I'm still not bored.

The dungeons and other activities are not fun on their own. They're just a mandatory slog to get a piece of loot .The whole goal of blizzard is to keep you in the game longer so that they can rake more money out of you with their goofy cosmetics.    … Expand

    I’ve finished the game as Barbarian. And it was kind of…boring. You just hold X, wait for the rage to fill and then push “square”. I had another build, it was one more button complicated. The main problem is difficulty. On the first run I was only able to choose second difficulty as highest, not taking into account the last one, where you could only die once. On this difficulty there was only one boss, who fought back - Butcher. All the others, including Lilith - we’ve been just standing in one spot, holding X, pushed second, rarely - third button sometimes. And that’s it. No challenge. At all.

    What really pissed me off - is that Blizzard has purposely left difficulty change for after the campaign is done. I was here only for the campaign. I don’t like being restricted and pushed into the “endgame” content. I’m not interested in pointless dungeon exploration, looting etc. Endgame - means that game is finished for me. At this point I exit and go sell it.

    Another mistake player like me could make - take side missions. By the 60-70% completion of the main story you’ll be around level 45-50. That means further development of your character is pointless and brings no joy. You already have all the main skills, it makes no sense to change the build, because the game already doesn’t challenge you at all. So just follow the main story, I suppose that way the gameplay will be more satisfying.

    Graphics are beautiful. Locations too. Sound is good. Atmosphere great and story is pretty good for the series. The main problem is that there’s no challenge for people, who are only after story completion. Vampire Survivors were more complicated.     For instance necromancer have blood, minions and bones spells. The game will push you to take all the minions skills to optimize your gameplay. So the build variety is quite low, and enabled by legendary items.

    Add to that, no loadouts, expensive respecialization, it's tedious to try new builds, you need to find legendary items, manually respecs all your points, and you cannot test your builds and evaluate it with metrics. You have no dummies to try your build on. So if your new builds feel less good, you need to pay again to respecs, and put all your points, gear back as it was before with no way to save it. The game highly discourage build exploration.

    Nevertheless the game is entertaining enought and killing demon mindlessly is relaxing. Hopefully the futures updates and seasons will improve the game to make it more fun, not tedious    … Expand

    I understand the noobs. They hate everything. But I am no noob. I gunned down many of these noob Diablo 4 haters on its forums. And I would continue to do it. They just need to GITGUD. A perfect game for them is a faceroll game.    We had fun on Diablo 2 and Diablo 3. We now have a new Diablo and this is Diablo 4. It's still a hack and slash action-packed game. It never gets old.

    It is much better than a D3 but I am story player so ofcourse i See the problems with items, dull hours of only a few or not enaough types of enemy or planty blind spots in medium locations no good reason to play after 60 level but still it is big step from the D3 in story telling and i love diablo vibe and hyoe(not perfect but not so stupid like last one)

    There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
